Batwoman 2x02 spoilers

Tonight’s episode of Batwoman was seriously incredible! I loved the interactions between Ryan and the main cast and seeing the associations between her and some of them, especially Kate’s as they were all very well-written and handled greatly.

I know there are various viewpoints on Season 1 as a whole and some of the things about Ruby Rose’s acting as Kate Kane but I thought it was good enough, so I’m glad to see Javicia upping the scale as Ryan :)

I hope we get a good resolution to Kate’s disappearance, good or bad, that wraps up any loose ends. Especially for Sophie’s sake~

My favorite scenes in this episode were definitely getting to see Ryan in action when she went up against Alice for the first time, as well as how she conducts herself in her everyday life struggles without the suit. I find her to be really relatable so I feel more connected to her character as a whole overall. The fight scenes were also pretty remarkable. 

I always used to look forward to seeing Kate put on the suit in a new episode, and thankfully, that very same feeling hasn’t changed one bit with Ryan.

I also love how Mary and she are already like besties and am excited about some Ryan/Luke bonding in the near future, as Luke will need to adapt to the new Bat-lady in time.

In other news, I can’t wait to see the new Batwoman wig because it seriously looks amazing~!  Keep it up Javicia!!  (^V^)

Definitely loving Ryan Wilder more this week and I can’t wait to see her now that she’s on the bat team! She’s still got some ways to go as far as being Batwoman but she’ll get there. She can hold her own and has good fighting skills.

I’ve decided that the bats Alice uses to infect the Batfans are some very aggressive new species unique to Gotham, a species that apparently eats rats on the regular, lives in the sewers, and randomly go around attacking people when brought in close proximity to large crowds of humans, cause it’s the only explanation I have for those bats’ behaviour.

This post isn't about shipping, I'm just so relieved that the two queer Black women main characters are becoming allies instead of adversaries. The most important thing to Sophie is her job, the most important thing to Ryan is Angelique. This was the perfect avenue to create a divide between these women on opposite sides of a polarizing ideology on justice and policing. But they used that very avenue to bring them closer and closer. They've developed a mutual respect for one another and they trust each other and I'm so happy.

Batwoman #202 “Prior Criminal History”

Ryan gets back into the suit when the Bat-team learns that Alice has a plan to cause mass-destruction in her war against Safiyah.

Back at Halloween, Ryan is walking along Burrard Bridge in a cat costume when she is chased underneath the bridge by several masked muggers only to be saved by Batwoman.

Back in the present day, Ryan goes to Best Season Produce looking for some painkillers for her kryptonite wound and ends up thwarting a robbery only to be arrested by the Crows.

A pro-Batwoman rally gathers in the plaza of Vancouver Art Gallery and becomes the target of Alice’s swarm of infected bats.

Ryan hops in the Batmobile and drives up Hornby Street from Dunsmuir to Hastings leading the bat swarm away from the crowds.

She stops a Crows Security bus on the ever popular West Hastings Street between Thurlow & Burrard where she manages to blow up the bats.

Dana Dewitt covers the distribution of the unexpected cure by Hamilton Dynamics outside the Anvil Centre in New Westminster.
