I feel like Fanny would have (secretly) enjoyed the whole 00s cringe culture thing we had going on. The weekly tidbits of gossip about celebrities and their affairs? The scandals?
"Holding your child over a balcony like that? Such irresponsible behaviour!"
"I will not have any of this Brangelina nonsense! Brad made his vows to Jennifer; he made bed so he should very well lie in it... with Jennifer!"
"A lady with a buzzcut?"
And she would have loved watching Ladette To Lady I'm not wrong

OKAY WALK WITH ME HERE
we know that kitty's death is probably related to her stomach (that vomiting scene in s4) and the trailer shows her sitting next to her sister, WITH HER DEATH CLOTHES ON, looking at a pineapple
taking the fact that that scene was obviously them seeing a pineapple for the first time, bc 19th century, i'm guessing that kitty wanted to try it
but what if she's allergic to pineapple
that would explain the vomit AND her death, if she went into anaphylactic shock bc of it

I don't believe Captain will have this big coming out with rainbows and glitter and him exclaiming he's a homosexual. That's just not who Captain is.
Maybe Alison and Mike will have a gay couple over, two men this time. The men share a simple kiss and Captain gets emotional. When someone asks him if he's okay, he doesn't put his mask on like he does other times. He lets himself feel and says "I miss him, so much."
Maybe Alison will find Cap's diary. We all know now he wrote about his admiration for Havers. Alison will ask him about Havers. Captain suddenly realises his feelings are okay and valid and he says: "I... I loved him."

1) In the BBC Ghosts world animals can become ghosts.
2) Ghosts can stick around a LONG time (Ie: Robin)
With those facts established:
How are we feeling about possible ghost dinosaurs in this universe? Or some other prehistoric beasties?

Ignore this if it doesn't make sense because I woke up with this theory already in my head and probably haven't thought it through -
What if, after having his medals presented, Cap and Havers are catching up somewhere private then Havers kisses Cap? And it's all a bit clumsy and Cap is so repressed and backs off even though he wants it that they bump together and the medals fall off? Then they're interrupted and the stress and shock gives Cap a pain in his chest and he's trying to brush it off and trying to pin his medals on whilst Havers tells him to sit and take a breath and he'll catch up with the person who caught them and tell them it's a misunderstanding? And the Captain's chest is tightening more as Havers leaves and he still can't get the bally medals on right and he has to sit down and...

BBC GHOSTS CAPTAIN THEORY!!!
-So, ep 5 S4 "gone gone", the episode when Mary gets "sucked off", at the very end Robin says that he gives every star a name, one of those names being William.
Tumblr media
EP 3 S2 "Redding Weddy", the episode that gives us a glance of the captain's past, you can see that he had a letter with the name William written on it. A lot of people think that lieutenant Havers first name is William because of this.
Tumblr media
If this is all correct, that would mean that Robin knew Havers (William), also meaning that Havers might've died in the war.
Knowing all this, they would have funerals for the soldiers, the captain sees that Havers is dead and he might want to give him something (a letter, flowers, a picture, etc/ possibly also romantic) but while he admires what he made for Havers lovingly, someone walks in! The captain panics and bangs his head into the mirror in front of him and that makes him die (a mirror like the one in the intro)
Sadly, Havers had already been "sucked off" and the captain never knew of this. That is until he talks to robin about his emotions and Robin tells him about his experience with Havers and showing us flashbacks etc, it's very emotional and beautiful way to end this case.
Tumblr media
(also Cap name dump at the medal ceremony lmao)
Tumblr media
TYSM FOR READING HEEHEE. (Basically cap dies bcs of gay panic)

All I'm saying is that if it's a girl, they'll call it Katherine. If it's a boy, it'll be James.

totally unfounded ghosts theory
SO . i was thinking about this image:
Tumblr media
a little too hard. and about people saying the thing in the captain's hand might be a tissue. and the idea of cap dying at his medal ceremony has been bouncing around my brain for a while, but i THOUGHT, what if the captain died at a funeral/memorial service? it would explain why he's in uniform, and at button house (given the people stationed there) despite the war likely being over and all by the time of his death. i cannot justify this at all, because my brain isnt working enough to research it without just getting current war memorial events, but! its an idea.

the fact that the captain survived till the end of the war, but as a ghost he's still stuck on it and believes it's not over makes me think that he died at a ceremony where a german spy or someone of that caliber tried to make one final attack and the captain jumped in to defend the country, then died

i think kitty might have died from eating poisonous berries or something similar. what if one day she got locked outside for the night whilst playing hide and seek with her sister, and she got hungry, so decided to find some food. she most likely wouldn’t know about berries or mushrooms potentially being poisonous, so she could have eaten some and then fallen ill.
to add to it, her sister could have found her and pretended to go for help, but instead just leaving her to die.
it would also make sense as to why she can be sick when none of the others can, as it probably relates to her death in some way.

Okay okay okay I am fascinated by the worldbuilding implied by the existence and discovery of Hat. Like entirely from the archaeological perspective, of course.
First and foremost - Hat is a Neanderthal. I took this screenshot of his skull as displayed on the news program the ghosts were watching and labelled the distinguishing features that suggest he was a Neanderthal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For comparison here is a modern Homo sapien and Neanderthal.
Tumblr media
Like, okay, I sorta already promote the idea that Robin is a Neanderthal, so maybe this isn't all that big a deal. But it is confirmation that Robin has been a ghost for at least 40k years and realistically much longer.
However, what is important about Hat specifically being a Neanderthal is that he was found preserved in ice. Ice bodies are quite rare forms of mummies and Ötzi, Europe's oldest ice mummy is only around 5000 years old (c. 3350-3105 BCE). So the discovery of a Neanderthal ice mummy would be MASSIVE fucking news.
Not only would the preservation into the present be such a big deal but also the location. During the Last Glacial Period (LGP) between c. 115,000 - 11,700 ya, all of northern Europe was covered in glaciation, and many alpine regions were also glaciated. Many Neanderthal could have theoretically been preserved in these glaciers until they melted at the beginning of the current interglacial period but for a Neanderthal to be preserved until the present, it would mean they would have had to have died in an area with continuous glaciation.
For reference here is a map of approximate areas of glaciation during the LGP.
Tumblr media
As we know that Robin died in England and given that there is no present-day glaciers in Britian or Ireland, is most likely that Hat was found somewhere in the Swiss or French Alps, as that is the closest continual glaciation that was accessible to Neanderthals.
WHICH MEANS that in the ghosts-universe there would be evidence of individual Neanderthals having a range of mobility that extends from southern England to the Alps. Something that remains unverifiable at present in the real world, as is the existence of Neanderthal tattoos (and other ephemeral cultural practices).
I think it also means we can say that Hat was probably a fucking idiot, not only for trading his furs to Robin for a "stick with a rock attached" but also for going into a glaciated area without furs... So I don't think Robin can really take the blame for his death.

According to my calculations, Havers’ ghosts is still on his way to Button House from North Africa after being awoken by the explosion of the bomb
