As expected, I have many thoughts about TXT's new song.
To me, the MV seemed very inspired by BTS's Butter performance at the BBMAs - for example, the suits, Beomgyu's intro (which was similar to Jungkook's), the overall minimalist aesthetic, the dance break, etc. The song itself is very BTS coded. I thought this of Do It Like That as well, with the dance that reminded me of Dynamite. As far as expanding to the West goes, TXT are being modeled after BTS.
The song is a bit dated, and it's not bad, but it really becomes an MJ rip-off at the end. The song is repetitive, so I was already over it around the 2 and a half minute mark, but then they added the MJ dance break, complete with MJ-style adlibs, which was, to say the least, an overkill. The song should've been cut at around 2:30 min and the entire MJ routine was cringe. Like, please be more original and not just copy his dance moves and adlibs.
Anitta's part isn't bad, and she doesn't look out of place in the MV as she did at the VMAs, but she isn't necessary to the song either (there are other, strategic reasons for her feature). I was quite disappointed that she sang in Spanish?? The woman is Brazilian, why didn't she sing in Portuguese? Can't us Portuguese speakers have anything? I'm Portuguese and sometimes idiot foreigners speak to us in Spanish and ignorant Americans think we're Spanis. Lke, I've seen multiple "Portuguese" characters in shows speaking Spanish and not Portuguese. It's so fucking annoying. Anitta singing in Spanish really triggered me lmao. I had to pause the video.

Why we miss hyyh so much
The 2015-2016 (Most beautiful moment in life up until you never walk alone) music videos contain so much backstory and lore to theorise about
The narrative and conceptual styles felt so meaningful like a fictional movie and artistic expression.
I do think that after the bbmas in 2017 BTS shifted their concepts and subject matter to be more about their audience and relationship to their fans. It became more about being an army than appreciating the art (no matter how much I still love them)
I can tell they each still have this capacity for depth of expression and creativity with the ability to be authentic and make really good art. I just hope they can have the space away from the industry, the ideas that come with being a boyband, and the fans that can be really difficult to ignre
In their 9th anniversary dinner video, the boys talked about how they had run out of creative inspiration due to being so busy and overworked. This was mosty what namjoon and yoongi said because they have historically been behind a large proportion of the songwriting and conceptual drive for the band.
I feel like if BTS get a proper real break, they can live their lives and read more books and see more art and find more inspiration personally. They just seem so burned out right now and it makes me sad because I love them so much. Being treated like a product for quick consumption must be really hard to deal with when you're a whole human with so much depth and talent and and thoughtfulness.

The style of that era is deliberately nostalgic and wistful, with themes like the idea of youth, passing time, being forever changed by events in our lives.
They created a nostalgia for the present at the time. And now that it is in the path, and feels further away the nostalgia has become true, and now we really ae yearning for the most beautiful moment in life not to be gone
Although I like how they assured us that the most beautiful moment is yet to come. Their proof album gave me a lot of hope (jhope) that in the future they will return to whatever magic was happening during hyyh and wings.
There have been exceptions since like black swan and fake love, but despite how proud I am of them, there's still this twinge of tragedy to their irreversible fame.
Because they didn't have to break through into superstardom to be loved and fulfilled.
It feels like JHope tackles this feeling I his new album Jack in the Box. Where he talks about his explosion into fame like pandora opening a box. You get so curious and then let out so much bad that cannot be put back in the box. It cannot be undone. But she also released the butterfly of hope, that reassures me that they are not giving up on being authentic.
Sidenote: I'm a musician too and I've heard people in the music industry talk about how even though a catchy basic song might reach more people (take dynamite or butter) it's the genuinely good, high quality and well-made music and art that reaches people's hearts and creates loyal fans.

I do think more people will start to ‘take out the pitchforks and torches’ as you said. It’s only been less than 48 hours after the announcement and we already got two weverse posts, vlive, multiple statements, even for someone who is outside of the fandom it’s confusing and overwhelming. That’s why I think it didn’t quiet sink in yet for most of armys but I’m sure they will eventually start to get angry. And when you were playing devil’s advocate for that one anon - I do agree with everything you said. They wanted armys to spend ridiculous amount of money for their music (and when billiboard changed rules after they asked RM about chart manipulation, they didn’t attend bbmas and didn’t send any thank you video lol so shady!). They were feeding delulus as much as they could. I will never forget that one interview when rm said that armys are their love life 24/7 around a world (or something like that) - it was so weird. I know they don’t want to answer personal questions so idk why big hit allowed questions about dating. Also the timing of it all is fucked up! I feel like armys tried to make this comeback as successful as they could and they wanted to appreciate that bts put out three new songs and then they got video when not only bts announce hiatus but they also say dyna/butter/ptd are shit and they didn’t like it and that they released anthology album because they didn’t know what to say/do. You could see that they don’t give a fuck about this comeback even if their fans tired to stay positive and be grateful for the crumbs they got - it’s a little sad when you think about it…
all of this happening DURING comeback WEEK (not even a week into it!) just makes it more messy unprofessional and suspicious. I said it looks like there was a power struggle going on but also I think the time frame forced them to do this bc there's no sane reason not to wait to give this message in a few weeks or a month...... not when they're right in the middle of a comeback

Our prayers are with India, says BTS as country battles Covid-19
The group enjoys a massive following in India and is yet to tour the country
"Let's never lose hope." This is the message from the South Korean music sensation BTS to their fans, known as ARMY, in India as the nation grapples with the second wave of the pandemic.
Asked if there was a message for the ARMY in the country amid the pandemic, member V told PTI in an email interaction, “Our prayers are with India. Stay strong ARMY and let’s never lose hope.”
The septet, also comprising RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, and Jung Kook, recently released their second English single Butter.
The groovy disco-pop summer track smoothly crossed 113 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours of its release on Friday, besting the 98.3 million public views counter-mark for the band’s Grammy-nominated maiden English single “Dynamite”.
In the run-up to the release of Butter, BTS floated the concept art of the song which had a melting heart at its centre.
Asked what was the idea behind this single, Jimin (25) said the members were looking for a song with a summer vibe, something they could enjoy with everyone.
“We wanted a summer song that we can enjoy together with ARMY and everyone. And Butter was the perfect fit,” he said.
“It’s a song brimming with the charms of BTS, so I hope everyone enjoys it!” V, 25, added.
The group is set to deliver the first on-stage performance of Butter at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), where they have yet again been nominated for the top social artist honour, the award they have been winning since 2017.
They are also nominated in the top duo/group, top song sales artist and top selling song (“Dynamite”) categories.
In 2019, BTS — the full name is Bangtan Sonyeondan (Bulletproof Boy Scouts) or Beyond The Scene, their English branding — also became the only South Korean group to win the top duo/group award at the BBMAs.
It is a special feeling to return to the music gala after having such a memorable run at the charts last year for “Dynamite”, their career’s first Billboard Hot 100 No 1 hit.
It is an honour to perform Butter at the BBMAs, said SUGA.
“One of the most memorable moments last year was when we got our first number one song on the Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. So it’s an honour to perform Butter for the first time at the awards show that bears such a special meaning for us,” the 28-year-old added.
Jung Kook, the youngest BTS member, said he hopes ARMY likes their act.
“As we always do, we prepared a spectacular performance for this year’s BBMAs too. So I hope our fans like it,” the 23-year-old said.
Although the optimism of “Dynamite” was exactly what ARMY around the world needed last year during peak pandemic, there were other songs in the band’s 2020 album ‘Map of the Soul: 7’ like ‘ON’ and ‘Black Swan’ that the group’s fans believed also deserved a nod at the Grammy Awards.
When asked to comment, group leader RM said while these awards recognise some of the most ambitious projects in music, not getting a nod at the Grammys or any other music awards “doesn’t mean that song is less valuable”.
“‘ON’ and ‘Black Swan’ delivered a deep message that we held in our seventh year into our careers, and that itself is invaluable,” the 26-year-old said.
Their label HYBE Corporation, previously known as Big Hit Entertainment, last month acquired American record executive Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings, which is home to artists like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Demi Lovato.
Asked what surprises are in store for ARMY following this development, while nothing was decided yet, j-hope teased that this partnership will open doors to many more opportunities.
“One thing we can promise for sure are amazing and unforgettable performances, so be on the lookout,” the 27- year-old said.
Jin, 28, said like ARMY, he too was looking forward to more surprises.
“I honestly think possibilities are endless because all these things are not something that we did alone, but we did together with our ARMY,” he added.
BTS debuted in 2013 and to mark their eight-year anniversary, the group announced a special two-day event, ‘BTS 2021 Muster SOWOOZOO’ in June.
Asked how the future looks for the septet, SUGA said they want to stay together and continue making good music.
“We want to connect with everyone around the world with great music and stages, and keep going as a group,” he added.

Every fandom jumped in and did a thread and discredited their acheivements, it is not just exols 💀 and plz most of the Aespa stans are literally the old k-pop listeners or SM stans, and mys dragged BTS when butter was replaced by Aespa's new song, and said things like 'a rookie group defeated the biggest group' so plz don't act like they're innocent
I definitely did not forget it, that's why I mentioned 2017 and exols+ few other fandoms...I was there, idk about you and the majority of armys who definitely weren't here and learned things from others and joined in making kpop hell for anyone, just like new kpop fans learn about it and pass down the story of armys being a villain, which results in them wanting to avoid bts.

Will BTS win 6 trophies at the 'Billboard Music Awards'?
Group BTS (BTS) will challenge its own best record of 6 crowns at the '2022 Billboard Music Awards' (BBMA), an American popular music awards ceremony.
BTS is aiming to win six categories including 'Top Duo/Group' at the 'Billboard Music Awards' to be held in Las Vegas on the 16th (Korean time).
This year, BTS was named 'Top Duo/Group', 'Top Song Sales Artist', 'Top Billboard Global Artist' (Excluding US), 'Top Selling Song', 'Top Billboard Global Song' (Excluding US), 'Top Rock Song' ' was nominated in 6 categories, the most. Among them, two songs, 'Butter' and 'Permission To Dance' were nominated in the 'Top Selling Song' category. This is BTS' own record for the most nominations (6 categories, 7 nominations).
Experts are anticipating multiple crowns as BTS set a record for 10 weeks on the Hot 100, Billboard's main single chart, with 'Butter' last year.

The 'Top Social Artist' trophy was awarded for five consecutive years from 2017 to last year. In 2019, they even won the ‘Top Duo/Group’ award and took home two gold medals. Last year, it won all four nominations: 'Top Social Artist', 'Top Duo/Group', 'Top Selling Song', and 'Top Song Sales Artist'. In particular, at last year's awards ceremony, the mega hit song 'Butter' in 2021 was released for the first time in the world.
