8 comment threads by a total of 4 different people. After 4 chapters posted! That means on average one person per chapter decided to leave a comment, even if some kind souls left several.

53 people liked it enough to want to keep reading. 4 of them decided to comment. And that's assuming none of those 4 people is subscribed to me as a writer or to the series or not subscribed at all.

Please, I'm begging you. Bring commenting back. We do this shit for free out of sheer love for the characters and their stories and you get to enjoy the results. Please make a habit of leaving comments on fics. I promise it's not that difficult once you've gotten used to it.

Let your fic writers know their work is appreciated, at least a little. Or at some point they will stop doing it.

It actually makes perfect sense that Ozzie is into consent. He‘s a demon, after all.

Let me explain.

If you think about it, there aren‘t actually many stories of either demons or fairies or any other kind of trickster ever forcing humans into anything.

They are going to fuck you over, sure, but they usually let YOU make a mistake first.

They bargain, goad you on, trick you.

The devil builds a bridge, he doesn‘t just abduct your firstborn. The fairies put food in front of you, they don‘t force you to eat. Succubi feed off your sexual energy, they don‘t magically make you horny.

Sin/transgression/damnation has to be a choice to mean anything.

See also: Nearly every horror movie ever. If that kid hadn‘t gone into the creepy attic (literal transgression), he wouldn‘t be possessed. If the camp counsellors hadn‘t been either fucking or pranking people, they wouldn‘t be getting axed.

The snake couldn‘t just shove the apple into Eve‘s mouth while she was sleeping, either.

Of course a demon would be interested in having consent on all sides. That‘s more people sinning, after all.

anybody remember the stephanie brown essay I was working on under a research grant fully last summer? yeah it’s not done yet it super needs to be done and I’ve been avoiding working on it for weeks. someone tell me to just do it already

#the problem is. actually there are several problems #1) I’ve been out of the Batman/dc comics phase for almost a year so I don’t care that much about the topic #2) I am fifteen pages in and have not touched it in months so I’ve completely lost my train of thought #3) I can’t just reread it because I hate first five pages or so and I know I need to change it but I was trying to finish before editing #so now my only solution is I need to open up a new doc and completely restructure the whole thing by splicing together the existing writing #so that I can figure out where the hell im going with this and make sure things fit together better #unfortunately that sounds fucking exhausting #but I told my mentor I would have an update for him by the end of the week and. well. it’s the end of the week #I have to present it in April. I have to write and submit an abstract in March #the school gave me $1500 for this stupid essay and if I don’t have anything to show for myself. #well. I don’t know they can’t take the money BACK but it’s not a good look #and also I would feel bad #I did the research!!! i interviewed comic writers even!!! my mum could really use £30-40 for groceries. We've spent a lot of money fixing stuff this month like replacement pipes and central heating (that really should be our landlord's responsibility..). She only has £150 left but we've still got bills to pay later this month so not much to spend on food and other necessities. Universal credit + her wage doesn't get paid until the end of the month (something is coming next week too but idr) 🥲

Usually we ask family and close friends for borrowing money but no one has been able to lend any aaa

Ever I just wanna let you know that I love your half orc Tav so much. He is everything to me. He's a disaster but he also has the strength to bust down a door so he can be a disaster wherever he wants but he's also Soft on some levels. i'm so glad he's entertaining because i also find him extremely entertaining. he's trying so hard not to be a disaster and he's actually doinggggggg fairly well!

he knows what people expect of him as a paladin of vengeance, and particularly as a half-orc, and he's content to play into that expectation to get done what needs to or if he just REALLY doesn't like you. after all, don't do what you love, do what you're good at.

that being said, he IS soft! intimidation is not his first choice outside of battle, it's just the one he knows will work! he crumples like paper for anyone he feels has been treated unfairly and he really doesn't like scaring commoners. it's part of why he goes by his last name. 'sir finch' is a much gentler visual to him.

What’s your general timeline regarding fashion in Westeros, from Aegon’s conquest (or even pre-conquest) to modern times? (E.g dance of the dragons: 1400s renaissance fashion, mid 200AC: Tudor fashion). Is it just a mixing pot?

So glad u asked keep in mind I’m playing fast and loose with all this I will probably come up with a new idea in two days that makes me disregard half the stuff on here (also yes some of it is just a melting pot and years of inspo are not always in order)

1. 20s BC-Early AC years: I get a sense of very early medieval fashion around this time. Think 1100s-1200s. All of it is fairly similar, with small tweaks based on location

2. Aenys-Maegor: this is where i think the “classic” medieval European look begins to take off. So think like the 1300s

3. Jaehaerys: I haven’t strongly defined the first century AC, but I do think I have a melting pot made up of mostly early 1600s (with some typical medieval princess looks thrown in there for the daughters)

4. Viserys I-Aegon IV: to me this is very typical 1600s Western European court fashion for the dance all the way to Aegon the unworthy. The general shape and style of clothes lasts for a long time, but details change over the course of each kings reign

5. Daeron-Maekar: this is much more modest era of fashion and more subdued. It makes me think of Burgundian styles and maybe early 1400s?

6. Egg-Aerys: this is when we start creeping in on typical Renaissance fashion. The Italian renaissance I have in mind particularly for Eggs reign. We also start getting hints of 1500s English fashion

7: Current era: this is mostly 1500s English, but again still a mix of stuff. Y’all have seen my posts I have Northerners in traditional Russian clothing and Dornishmen in Syrian and Saudi outfits most of the kingdoms do not fit into the same irl era

Ashton is such a fascinating character and just really fucking cool guy, excellent taste!

3. Fluff for Ashton

There are some upsides to being a stone-cold bastard.

Ashton tilts their head back, headache (he blames Chetney) soothed by shade, sour mood (he blames Imogen) eased with booze, and aches (he blames himself) massaged away by heat.

Rocks fucking leech up warmth, and it’s just what they need to burn at the gnawing pain in their limbs and joints. Not to say metal doesn't do it better. Maybe too well: where Fresh Cut Grass gets the sharp hot you flinch away from, the sun settles into Ashton's bones like a clingy lover. Once it's gone he's cold to the touch and left alone with the pain.

He isn't all stone, though: the gold gets uncomfortably warm, and once a nap by a forge (don't fucking ask) had it drooling. And the glass can be a bitch too, taking light and throwing it back with a vengeance if their head isn't covered. The shards stabbing into their knees and ankles and wrists and back like some fucked up acupuncture remind them how much life sucks if they get too cozy during a nap.

(Some. He didn't say many.)

Ashton keeps carefully still to keep the pain to a hum the sun can balm away. It's a survival strategy.

It probably explains why the cat showed up.

He cracks an eye open to see the thing - an obnoxious yellow-orange - gauging the jump before taking a leap. Ashton hisses when claws find purchase in their jacket. Bold little bastard pays that no mind, instead curling into his crossed arms with a loll of its head. When Ashton gives it a glower it blinks and wiggles, getting fucking comfortable.

(The cat is pretty warm too, even as it hogs up the sunshine and sun-warmed stoneskin.)
