All righty, I managed to get back home despite the hurricane, let's talk about the show.

Tl;dr - I traveled cross-country to see John Oliver and Seth Meyers. It was amazing and I am still giddy about it!! Gonna put all the details under a cut to not clog up your timeline/the tags.

(All jokes will be paraphrased/guestimated bc my adrenaline and ADHD played havoc with my memory recall, lol.)

Firstly, the Beacon Theatre is absolutely stunning. It reminds me a bit of the Theatre at Ace Hotel in LA, in that it's clearly had its old elements lovingly preserved and harkens back to an older time. It was truly a gorgeous venue.

I missed getting a pic of the other side of the stage, which had a massive sculpture of shields and spears. John made a joke about the opulence of the room not matching the entertainment for the evening, and noted that "even Coco Chanel would say to keep it to one shield". Really wish I'd thought to get a picture of it, he was not wrong.

I was extremely close to the stage - 3 rows back and dead center. I definitely had the anxious excited adrenaline jitters because of it.

I mean COME ON.

The opener was Brooks Wheelan, who I remembered from his brief stint at SNL. He talked a fair deal about that, and told a great story bit about getting fired from there and opening for John shortly after, wherein he drank an entire bottle of "HBO blood diamond whiskey" from John's dressing room and had, in Seth's later words, "a nervous breakdown". I'd heard Brooks has opened for John before and was glad I got to see him, he's a lot of fun.

He also told a joke about not wanting to learn karate because of the huge glass windows in front of every karate studio and not wanting anyone to watch him learn karate. Lots of very understanding laughter there, including from me. (Why do all these places have massive plate glass windows?!)

After Brooks was John Oliver, and y'all. Let me get this out of the way.

He is fine as hell. Look. Just LOOK. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO DEAL WITH THIS

I would also like to take the time to gush effusively about John's mastery of set structure. The set was, aside from the typical "before we get started, I need to let you know I'm British" pseudo-opener he's used since like 2005, entirely new material -

(As an aside... !!!!!! I KNOW!!!! A FULL FUCKING HOUR OF ENTIRELY NEW MATERIAL!! THAT I WAS NEAR THE FRONT FOR!!!! I'M SO VERKLEMPT STILL YOU HAVE NO IDEA)

- and it was just beautifully written from a structural standpoint. It was pretty much all political material all centered around history and the need to understand it for context on the world as it currently stands. There were some digressions from that point but they were seamlessly woven in. He is such a goodamn incredible stand-up comedian.

A few things he talked about in his set:

That time the US dropped nukes on itself twice (which was briefly mentioned on LWT but not in this detail and not including a reenactment of a man dropping a bomb while working on a plane and him reacting to watching it roll away).

That the current British royal line of succession exists because of a "cousin-fucker who cut someone into pieces like a Benihana chef". (John told us this is something he learned researching this bit, which caused me unending joy. I love that he's making new sets!! :D)

John delights in the misery of billionaires and wished that the rocket Jeff Bezos was on would blow up. He doesn't want him to die, though. Through this he also talked about Elon Musk and his favorite fake blue check company tweets, mainly a series made by a fake Chiquita account claiming to have overthrown Brazil, followed by Chiquita saying they hadn't actually overthrown any governments since 1954.

John got booed at a Sesame Street benefit and told a killer set of jokes about Bert judging him for it. ("The man lives with Ernie! He knows chaos!")

He claims we will all know things are okay with the US again when we are all irrationally mad at Anne Hathaway for no reason again. Told an incredible story about how he just blundered into the street in LA once, almost got hit by a car, looked up, realized it was Anne Hathaway in the car, saw her wave at him, and, despite the scenario being objectively his fault, being somehow mad at her.

Shaded Dave Chappelle in an analogy about how we are not at Civil War division times because "somehow our level of division is people debating whether Chapelle's SNL monologue was okay or not", in a way that suggested it was very much not okay. 10/10 no notes.

Okay so there was one recycled bit - him being informed the Queen wanted to give him an OBE. He added to it fantastically though, by personifying the man from the embassy as the most offensively British stereotype you could possibly imagine. He said the man sounded like "if a British person rubbed a teapot and a genie came out".

There was definitely more but I could gush forever so let's move on.

Brooks came back out to introduce Seth and forgot the name of his show, lol. For a brief moment we all contemplated what Last Week Tonight with Seth Meyers would look like. (I assume the show's Adam Driver would be Stefon.)

Anyways, here is the only good photo I took of Seth.

Seth was great as well - not as good as John, but I'm very biased in that regard. The material was also pretty diametrically opposed to John's, much more domestic comedy about his wife and kids and their idiosyncracies.

I really liked Seth's energy and approach. I don't quite know how to explain this, but he had a touch of Dennis Reynolds energy to him, a restrained manicness, that was really interesting to watch. That's not my normal association with Seth's energy, either, but it was very fun. Definitely puts some of the more deranged things from his tenure as Weekend Update host in context.

Some highlights from Seth's set:

He had an amazing brick joke about doing accents as a comedian, where he imitated a Swedish accent and talked about how everyone's Swedish accent is basically the Swedish Chef from the Muppets and how the only Swedish food anyone has nearby is the meatballs at IKEA. Funny on its own, but later in the show, Seth talked about how people assume he's fully Jewish, including people on the street. He noted that he's 25% Swedish but no one comes up to him on the street and goes -insert Swedish Chef impression-. (This straight up killed the guy sitting next to me, who ended up laughing with his head in his hands for a solid 30 seconds.)

His kids eat very healthily, so when they end up going to friends' houses and eat one Skittle, they turn into demons. Literal demons. Seth's impression of an actual demon trying to undo a double-buckled car seat was the hardest I laughed at his whole set.

Seth also had a section which he claimed would be the part where he'd tell anti-trans jokes "if he was a complete asshole". I enjoyed the trans affirmation the whole evening, ngl.

Seth's family and his wife's family have very different ways of conversing at the dinner table, which directly mirrors my and my partner's family - Seth's family (like Mr. Lee's) is big on listening to everyone and contributing to conversations only when someone else has talked; Alexi's family (like mine) is constantly screaming over each other.

After Seth's set, everyone (including Brooks) came out to do a Q&A. I could not think of a song in the moment, but realized at the hotel room an hour after that I should have made @chiijohn 's evening by asking John's opinion on Planet of the Bass. :facepalm: Sorry mate!

Still, some great questions were asked, and it was about 30 minutes of just audience interaction. I've never experienced anything like it at a stand-up gig and genuinely loved it. John, of course, told people they were free to leave before the Q&A because why would they want to stay; the man is incapable of thinking anything good about himself and much as I hate his bad self-esteem, I would have been concerned if he hadn't said something to that effect.

Brooks was asked almost immediately if he remembered the name of Seth's show, which was honestly hilarious. Brooks said "I conferred with John backstage and we're both pretty sure that it's Late Night with Seth Meyers".

Someone asked how fearful Seth and John were of their shows being cancelled after one year, and Brooks snarked that he knew that feeling. (Brooks seems to have a good sense of humour about not being a huge presence on SNL.) Seth said that he wasn't super worried but that they redid his entire set (background set, not stand-up set) because Alec Baldwin said it looked like "a sushi restaurant in Burbank". (theoniontheworstpersonyouknow.jpg) John said he was told most HBO shows don't get cancelled at one season and he said "we'll see about that".

There was definitely some extended riffing on Alec Baldwin being a piece of shit afterwards, while John giggled helplessly. I love John's giggling.

Seth and John's favorite Muppet is Cookie Monster. They talked about how interesting it is that you can have amazing chemistry with Muppets, and then meet the puppeteer and have literally nothing to talk about. Seth also talked about how low-tech Big Bird was, and how the late Carroll Spinney, when on SNL, held a script in one hand, the controls of Big Bird in the other, and a flashlight in his mouth to read the script.

Everyone is upset they didn't get to cover the indictments because of the Writer's Strike. John thought there were only 3, but I honestly don't know if one of them came down before the Writer's Strike and he was just referring to the ones since then. It's been a long few months for us all.

Brooks basically forces John and Seth to get out of their hotel rooms when touring. Otherwise, Seth said, "they both just sit there anxious". That tracks, especially for John, who literally said on Seth's podcast that he is physically incapable of relaxing.

When asked about their influences, John said (rather obviously) that he wouldn't have a career without Jon Stewart, and Brooks talked about how both Seth and John really uplifted him and cared for him after he got fired from SNL. Seth talked in a really lovely way about how Amy Poehler basically adopted him and got him out of his shell and was a real friend to him early on.

I really wish I'd written down every stand-up that the three of them recommended when prompted, because I've completely blanked on half of them. Seth said Joe Pera (who I also highly recommend); John recommended Maria Bamford (again, also highly recommend). He also said that most people in the room would have probably not heard of him but that the best in the UK was Daniel Kitson (paging @tellthemeerkatsitsfine to provide her recs bc she knows Kitson backwards and fronts). Brooks gave a shout to Kyle Kinane (who I am not as familiar with as I should be).

There was so much more, but honestly, I was just so in the moment that I feel like I remember things in waves. It was an amazing evening and I was honestly so blessed to be there at all.

I did not wait at the stage door or anything, because I am truly not that kind of person and have consistently been sure that if I ever met John, I'd barf on his shoes. I know on Instagram some people had gotten stage door photos, though, and I'm happy for them!

Thank you all for always being supportive of this dumb blog. I don't think I would have had the confidence to go on this cross-country journey without you all randomly egging me on all the time. It was one of the best nights of my life. 💖💖

i've been in love with wendla since i laid eyes on her and i would die to play her. im obsessed with her, she's got so much more depth than people realize and that was cut during the transition from play to musical fuck you s*ter and i would love to bring that to my rendition of her. and i was also assaulted when i was her age, i was also suicidal, i was also confused af and my mom was not helpful, i also wanted to be loved so badly, i just see a lot of my teenage self in wendla. i related to her so much when i first saw the show and that's a big reason i got so obsessed with it.

prob moritz or hanschen. they are 2 sides of the same dramatic ass coin. they also have daddy issues and are gay like girl me too.

all of them? wendla holds a special place in my heart but like. there is so much to love about all of them even anna and thea who we know almost nothing about have the building blocks of great characters. i've always loved combining what we know about the characters from both the musical and the play to make more complete characters especially because s*ter cut so much of the girls characterization bc he's a sexist pos fuck you and i def do that with anna and thea.

Dom posted a blog and confirmed that Tom wasn’t in London for Christmas. Because it said that for once since paddy was born they were a family of 5 and paddy was confined to his room. I watched their blog though and tomdayas never posted the Seth meyers interview where Tom said he was going home. So to their “blog” and “followers” him going home for Christmas doesn’t exists. They also don’t have logic. Dom said on his live on his page that one of his kids tested negative and they weren’t sure when he would test negative. And in his blog today, he mentioned his paddy was stuck in his room. If paddy had a negative test he wouldn’t be stuck in his room. So Tom must have been the one to be negative and couldn’t get back in time. Tomdayas don’t post things that go against their theories. Or narrative. They also all have access to Dom’s pateron. They have posted things before. And none of them posted about the son testing negative. I can’t tell you how much it drives me nuts they don’t use logic, but that’s what you get with shippers.

This whole thing is making me really confused like so Paddy was in his room bc he had covid or?? And the thing with Tom is also not making much sense to me did he just have to quarantine??

We've been friends many years but I've never thought to ask; Top 10 gay OTPs?

1.) Ian & Mickey (Gallavich) - Shameless us

What can I say about these two that we haven’t already said about them?! They are my absolute all-time favorite couple ever! Gay or straight. They perfectly complement each other, they love each other on a level I feel like I’ve never seen before (and I have watched a lot of tv/movies), they’re like a comedy duo, they support each other, understand each other better than anyone else ever will, they fell in love as kids, they bring out the best in each other, and they’re each other's best friend. I’m a sucker for opposites attract, who are also best friends. Gallavich really fits that bill. I wish they didn’t have to struggle so much to get their happiness, but I’m happy they finally got it. When they got married, it felt like the biggest victory ever! We went through those years of struggle with them, rooted for them, mourned for them when John Wells let Noel go after season 5. So much has tried to keep these two apart, even real-life circumstances tried to keep them apart. The chemistry between these two characters and between Cameron and Noel was so powerful, they were brought back to the show. That kind of thing doesn’t happen very often. When an actor leaves a show, they don’t usually come back as a series regular, let alone two actors who have already left the show. It felt like a miracle! I will never forget getting the news that Noel was coming back from you @luckyshazmrsmonaghansblog I was crying with happiness bc we wanted this for so long and I never believed we would get to see both Cameron and Noel back on the show. Or that they would get their happy ending outside of a jail cell. Especially after Cameron left the show in season 9. With their return we got a wedding, an entire season of them as a married couple, we got to see them dance with each other twice, we got them singing together, we got to see them start a lucrative business together, we got to see them free and happier than we’ve ever seen them before, and we got to see Terry get what he deserved after putting them through hell. We are only halfway through season 11, but I already feel so fulfilled with this extra time with gallavich that we were never supposed to have. JW tried to take that away from us. I will never understand why, but he failed. I am not surprised this is the one I wrote the most about. I can go on and on about gallavich!

2.) David and Patrick - Schitt’s Creek

This was everything I ever wanted to see onscreen, where there was zero homophobia. The pansexual character didn’t need to have a big coming out or tell everyone in the town of his sexual orientation, except his best friend. The gay character had a coming out with parents who loved and accepted him for who he is and was only upset that he felt he couldn’t tell them sooner. I dreamt of a day where I could see this kind of representation onscreen. The casual treatment of their sexuality was so refreshing and something I’ve been waiting for. There is no darkness or huge struggle they had to overcome to be together or a sad ending for them. They were allowed to be together without the major conflicts most LGBTQ characters have to go through. Once David made the first move Patrick was comfortable allowing himself to fall for David and start a relationship with him. He was so sure of his feelings for David after that first kiss, he never looked back and I loved that. They had such an adorable love story. Truly one I have been waiting to see for so long between two LGBTQ characters. They made me smile every time they were on screen. They are another of my OTPs that are exact opposites who complement each other perfectly. Patrick was welcomed into David’s family and blended in with them so well, even when he and David had very different upbringings. Patrick serenading David with Tina Turner and then Mariah Carey at their wedding is one of the most romantic things I have ever seen!

3.) Holt and Kevin - Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Captain Holt and Kevin are strange men on their own but together they are the perfect pair. They get each other in a way no one else does. The best part is their adorable fur baby, Cheddar! They seriously make the cutest family! I was so nervous when they went through a rough patch for a while because I didn’t want them to split up. Thankfully, they made it through and are still going strong!

4.) Will and Vince - Will & Grace

On the show's first run, Will and Vince were in a serious relationship and Vince was Will’s longest relationship on the show. They broke up a few times but were together by the series finale. The two reunite during the funeral of Will's father. There was a time jump on the series finale. Though I didn’t love everything about the last episode, I did love the fact that Will and Vince had been together for 20 years and raised a son together, who was conceived through in vitro fertilization with a surrogate. After the time jump, nearly twenty years later, their son goes to college and meets Grace's daughter, whom he would eventually marry. Though I wasn’t happy with the fact that Will and Grace didn’t stay close over the years, it did allow for their kids to one day meet, fall in love, and get married. I did like that outcome out of the finale. My family and I used to watch the original show, but we refused to accept or watch the 2017 revival because they completely changed everything from the original series finale. The second I found out they were changing everything; I knew I couldn’t watch it. They even wiped the existence of their kids from the first series finale. The revival was an attempt to cash in on the reboot craze and I wasn’t happy about that already, but even more so when they were going to break up one of my OTPs for easy money. Bobby Cannavale, who played Vince, has become even more famous since starring in Will & Grace. So, I already figured he wouldn’t be back for the show as a regular, but I know he did guest star. I won’t accept the revival and to me, Will and Vince stayed together, and their son married Grace’s daughter. THE END!

5.) Albert and Armand - The Birdcage

Miss Albert and Armand were the earliest gay couple I remember ever watching onscreen when I was eight years old. I have watched this movie more than I can count over the years. It is a family favorite that we quote often. Their son is planning to marry a girl whose father is in politics and is very conservative. They have to hide the fact that he has two gay fathers for one night, but everything goes awry, and comedy ensues. Nathan Lane and Robin Williams give a wonderful performance without resorting to using the stereotypes that are often used on gay characters, especially back then. It’s a classic!

6.) Stefon and Seth - Saturday Night Live

Okay, hear me out on this one! They’re not the most conventional OTPs on my list, but I really do love them so much! Stefon started doing a correspondent segment on Weekend Update on SNL. The first time Stefon came on, he flirted with Seth Meyers. The second he did I was like ooh they would make a cute couple! Stefon the wild party guy and Seth the serious news anchor. It was a match made in heaven for me. Before Seth Meyers left SNL to do Late Night with Seth Meyers, Bill Hader came back to play Stefon for Seth’s last episode. I didn’t expect what happened next to happen at all! They gave Seth and Stefon the ending that I haven’t even gotten from some actual scripted shows. I never expected Stefon and Seth to have this big ending, but I could not be happier that they did. I’m posting the link to the six-minute skit/ending and I hope it works. It’s worth watching. Though the video says it’s Stefon’s farewell it was really Seth’s farewell episode.

7.) Mr. Simmons and Peter - Hey Arnold!

Anyone who grew up watching this show already knew that Mr. Simmons, Arnold’s teacher, was probably gay. It was hinted at in the Thanksgiving episode. Arnold and Helga visit Mr. Simmons on Thanksgiving at his house and his family and “friend” Peter are there. Mr. Simmons mother says she didn’t know Peter was coming to dinner and Peter responds with the infamous line “There’s a lot of things you don’t know.” When Mr. Simmons mom tries to get him to take a woman friend to the ballet, he says he loves the ballet and Peter gives him a disapproving look and Mr. Simmons immediately declines. Those were enough hints for us fans to decide Peter was his boyfriend. Years later, the show's creator Craig Bartlett finally confirmed Mr. Simmons is gay and had them together in the 2017 Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie. It was so exciting to finally get the confirmation years later, even though I was already certain of it for many years. I was happy that the cartoon no longer had to settle with vague hints about it.

8.) Callie and Arizona - Grey’s Anatomy

I was very happy to see a lesbian couple on prime time tv and I really liked both characters. I was excited to root for them but sadly as most couples on this show, their relationship took a turn, and I wasn’t thrilled about it. I was disappointed that it came to an end. By then I was already getting tired of watching the show. It was starting to feel like a chore to watch it every week. I tried to stick it out because I don’t like to give up on shows in the middle of it, but I just couldn’t do it anymore. I’m glad I did though because the shocking events with Derek Shepard, is something I’m glad I wasn’t around for. Anyway, I heard things between Callie and Arizona got even worse, so I was even happier I left when I did.

9.) Sherwin and Jonathan - In a Heartbeat

This was one of the cutest things I have ever seen! I wish this got the full-length movie treatment instead of a short film. But it was still a step in the right direction for the LGBTQ community. Gay characters in cartoons always bring me such joy and that was the focus of this short. A boy with a crush on another boy with a cute ending. What is not to love?!

10.) Mitch and Cam - Modern Family

Another show I had to give up on in the middle of the series. The show began to be less funny and more annoying to me. Another reason, that really has nothing to do with the show itself, that used to annoy me was that this show repeatedly beat out Parks and Recreation during award season. Parks and Recreation is a superior show when compared to Modern Family. This show won almost every year for years and it got really annoying especially when the quality of the show started slipping and they kept winning. After a few years, they finally stopped winning all the time. But before all that, I was a fan of Cam and Mitch. They were a great couple who I loved watching on the show. They were the best part of the show most of the time. But sadly, my annoyance of the show no longer being as funny as it used to be, was enough for me to stop watching.

currently reading: The Whole Story: The Colonial Story of Art in Our Museums & Why We Need to Talk About It by Alice Proctor, because right now working in a museum context is highest on my list for what I’d like to do when I get out of grad school + On Looking: A Walkers Guide to the Art of Observation by Alexandra Horowitz, because two of my favorite things in the world are walking and looking at things, and they’re even better when done together! Both are very good so far, 10/10 would recommend

currently craving: oh, definitely a hike with some good rock scrambling, that’s a really good one. but also just the rhythms of my life in this neighborhood pre-pandemic--like being able to walk around and pop into various bars whenever I wanted to see my friends working. that is obviously not a reality at all right now.

hmm.... well i think you’re right that he really doesn’t have much time to watch tv in general. in some ways i think this is one place where lucas and jack get along, is neither of them are super into pop culture so jack is just dated whereas lucas is a martian and doesn’t know anything -- but they bond over that by feeling “above” it all, in their weird grounded, humble-yet-smug way fDSKLGSGJSLDGDKLHG. but it’s cute, the weirdo traits that bond them.

that said, jack is less clueless than lucas. i would say that some shows he quite enjoys would be leverage, schitt’s creek, westworld, and ncis (everyone needs their long-running maybe-should-have-ended crime show). he also has a soft spot for m.a.s.h. because i feel like his dad used to watch it all the time and he has a memory of that in the recesses of his mind, so its like nostalgic. also i think the one type of tv he keeps up to date on are late night shows -- seth meyers, john oliver, etc. it keeps him informed to a degree, and he can also have it on in the background when he’s up late working.

in terms of movies, i honestly don’t think jack watches a lot of films. i also suck at answering movie questions bc i myself don’t know nearly enough films to do it justice lol. but ones jumping to mind are dead poets society, stand and deliver, 12 angry men, spotlight, and just for fun, bill and ted’s excellent adventure.

Yesterday I had one of those nights i just couldn’t fall asleep, i tried soo hard bc i was certifiably Exhausted™️, but still nothing. So at some point i started feeling that depressing low you get in the middle of the night and the only cure i know for that is to watch netflix comedy specials until i’m too tired. And so i did, i watched seth meyers, ellen, jeff garlin, all three john mulaneys. At 4 am I was finally knocked out and guess what i dreamed about? My own comedy special. And it was fucking good.

ok so i have anxiety dreams once in a while abt being late to school. i spent yesterday setting up my binder and stuff so ok, school dream makes sense

BUT NO. I GET DREAMS THAT DONT MAKE ANY SENSE

I FORGOT THE FIRST SCENEone sec. it started in the cafeteria right. it's tuesday. second day of the second semester. i'm on my first 1 hour break of the day.

i was at a small birthday party for emily from stardew valley in the caf. CLINT was there, they were dating. i spent 20minutes wrapping his gift for her for him. then she USES THE PARTYY to tell him she's leaving him for harvey. haryevy is there. they walk away linking arms. clinnt starts crying, i hug him, he leaves. is this clint's nightmare or mine? i go to buy a slushie at the caf's 7/11 then MY BACKPACK IS GONE. i cant pay for my damn slushie so i dont get one. then i spent 6 hours looking for my shit.

i shouldnt be getting "late to class" anxiety dreams

MY SMALL AF COMMUNITY COLLEGE takes me TWO MINUTES to power walk from one end to the other. i've done it SEVERAL TIMES

but NO. i get aa dream where my college becomes a different building, where you have to walk THROUGH A MALL and ANCIENT EGYPTIAN RUINS to get from one end to the other

i'm in the caf and look away from my backpack for a 5 min bc the drama, and a kid from 8th grade i havent seen since takes my backpack and fave jacket to the lost and found. while i'm comforting CLINT FROM STARDERW VALLEY after his gf broke up w him and admitted to cheating AT HIS BIRTHDAY PARTY. then explains her evil plan to me like she's a gisney villain.

then i spend FOUR HOURS LOOKING for the damn lost and found. she got there and back in a minute before i noticed but no. i have to ask my 12th grade history teacher, who directs me to a lady who speeds off in a segway and my dream isnt letting me run to catch up. we get my backpack and jacket, i missed my 2nd class and 2nd hour break. it's been 4 hours. NOW i have to find my last class

we end up in a golf cart in the ancient ruins in the fucking courtyard. she ABANDONS me in the ANCIENT RUINS

THEN MARK HAMILL SHOWS UP TO GUIDE ME ON THE REST OF MY JOURNEY throgh the mall in my way. why is there a mall too??? idk, but by the time we get close to the end of the 4 story mall with no elevators or escalators, we end up standing outside a comic book store. i'm like "well fuck the second class is almost over." mark hammill buys me a comic book at the store. seth meyers is working there. it comes with a millennium falcon figure. nice.

by the time mark hammill and i find my class there's 10 minutes left in that 2-hour period. we spent 6 hours. i only got to go to one of three two-hour classes that day. i dont bother to go. my mom picks me up. we go home.

I TURNED INTO JENNA MARBLES or i was just watching a video i have no clue at this point. the video where she shaves off her eyebrows. i shave off my eyebrows and replace them with kids' temporary tattoos TJAT I DONT EVEN GET TO SEE BECAUSE I WOKE UP

wtf brain??? i suffered so much???? and i dont even get to see the result of my temporary tattoo eyebrows????? were they dinosaurs??? or star wars???? i will never know now.

when i say i hate dreaming it's because shit like this happens. my brain makes up scenarios to freak out about that will never happen. there isnt an ancient ruins, mall or mark hammill in the middle of the school. it takes 2 min for me to walk from one end to the other, not six fucking hours including time on a golf cart

are there settings i can go into for my brain. can i toggle "use ONLY memories of my real current college" ON can i toggle "this bullshit"

some great interviews: seth meyers, q on cbc (this one is 22 mins long, but it’s good), nme interview, blitz for rock in rio, cbs sunday, trnmst festival interview, vice (hold onto your ass bc ur gonna cry/laugh at this), absolute radio, isle of wight interview, rock werchter interview (!), IDAYS interview (on his bday), true inside. there’s more but that’s a lot already. i was gonna do other eras but now that’s too much and my hand is numb. tbh brandon has gotten a lot better at speaking lately so the older ones are uuuuh rough lol but i love his interview with elton john a lot, it’s so cute. if you want a written one, the big issue is rly good. so is paper magazine.

SHOWS……… every show was so good like whew. wig. some standouts: bonnaroo, trnmst festival, rock werchter, lolla chile, foro sol, hangout fest. i like to watch clips from a lot shows but these are some of the ones that have the full concerts up.

i had a dream that i was in walmart at christmas time and seth meyers came out with a line of 3 different christmas lights, a stop light, some glow lights in a jar, and like an led desk lamp. i was just gonna get one or two of them but then i saw that they were on sale for a dollar if you bought all three. samara came to see if i was ready to check out and was happy to see that i was using the purse that she had given me (moms purse). i had all these things i was getting, the lights and a roll of artists tape and a bunch of stuff really i had spread out all over a shelf. then some little black boy grabbed a project i was working on out of my purse, also sitting on the shelf. it was a half finished tiny crocheted tiny black kid. he was either deaf or mute or both but somehow told me he’d never seen anything like it and was really attached to it. i couldn’t give it to him bc it wasn’t done and i think i needed it for some commission or something. samara and nathan took my stuff to the check out and car while i talked to him. but i told his mom which was some ginger white lady. i told her what he said and that i’d like to make him one of him, that i just needed her to send me pics of him to my email. she started to say how she was a woman of faith and that this felt like a miracle and i was feeling increasingly less like doing it if she was just gonna thank god for it instead. but i was in a rush anyway. i ran out to what was my car (some oldish silver sedan) with nathan driving and samara on shot gun and they had used some of the stuff i bought to make the car look beat up, like sloppily putting clear packing tape over the gas cover and something on the opposite rear window. i was like why would you do that as i climbed into the back seat and they were like cause it’s funny cause you love this car. but then i had to go get my body covered in a layer of pink wax for some reason. i think like A mold fitting of some kind.

i was driving a car on a highway with sinead and there was a tornado off to the side. i think we were in kentucky. but as i keep driving we see dozens of tornadoes. i lose control of the car in this high way traffic in that i guess that the brakes stopped working because the wind was too strong. i finally weave my way to an exit ramp and, not knowing where to go, i pull up in front of a school. the teacher and kids come out to look at the tornados and the teacher shows me this big clear tub of water she’s carrying to show me it’s rained at least a foot of rain (even tho the weather was perfect now).

I’m on holiday or something. im at the top of elaborate tourist trap. only someone doesn’t want me to leave because everything is covered in grease and the only way to go is back up.

dream that i guess i was having a wedding in a water gel cube. it filled up the garage and didn’t need anything to contain it really. i tried it out in my dress and out swimming but even easier and lighter. but then a bunch of people arrived home, i think my random bridesmaids, and one of them popped it. when popped tho there was nothing, it was just gone. then trying to get into the house the front changed and i was super pregnant. i was so hungry and trying to make a sandwich with the platters that everyone brought home. they were supposed to be for the wedding but everyone was being a dick and eating them anyway but then i couldn’t find them and was so annoyed. then they kept trying to keep me from going into the basement that they decorated as star wars themed but we got down there anyway and it looked like absolute trash but i didn’t say anything. sean s was over to congratulate me and that was my first time trying to hug straight on with a pregnant belly and i hated it and started freaking out and made him give me a side hug instead. my baby was kicking a whole lot and i could hold his individual feet thru my stomach. then just hanging out down there it turned out i was having a super carlin bros baby tho idk who with, i guess ben. one of the girls was like omg first baby of the fam! and i was thinking like uhh are you forgetting J’s three children?? but then my baby who had been licking just starts straightening out and it’s really freaky. i think one of my sister in laws starts doing that too but i ignore that bc too freaky. i’m running around trying to get an answer and then i’m finally standing outside on a balcony at a hospital watching people arrive. 3 ppl on motor cycles eat it and i listen to them slowly skid in and scream in pain. i think i was crying but no one came to comfort me.
