i think the turning point in my life both academically and professionally was realizing that. If you Go First, be it a presentation or an interview or whatever. If you go first, you are being judged based on NOTHING but yourself. They aren't comparing you to anyone else, you don't have an act to "follow". You are the Bar. You can literally just do the best you can and at that point it will automatically be the best they've seen so far. And once you're done you're done. You can mentally and emotionally check out.

Game changer insofar as being stressed about presenting because now I just bulldoze over everyone else to go first like a feral hog.

i have another maybe unpopular succession opinion... shiv and rome had the strongest relationship out of the sibs and it was always going to be the two of them vs kendall. not kendall and roman vs shiv or even kendall and shiv vs roman. that ce-"bros" thing was never going to work because kendall wanted the crown for himself and shiv wasn't going to put up with that. i think people forget that kendall splitting roman's stitches is one of the things that made shiv switch up in the finale- it wasn't just that she was jealous and couldn't stand kendall getting something she wanted, it was seeing roman, bloodied and broken and cowering before kendall in fear, that flipped the switch. shiv may not have been invited to the "boy's club", but she wasn't clueless about their dynamic either. she knew kendall hurt roman and she knew roman didn't have it in him to vote against his brother, just like he couldn't bring himself to vote against logan in the first season. shiv gets a lot of hate within the fandom but i do believe that she was trying to protect roman in her own way. she couldn't break up the fights, she couldn't take the blows for him, but she could put her foot down and say, no, i won't let this happen. and then you have roman trying to take the heat off of shiv when kendall started screaming at her, you have roman saying the worst thing so that kendall will get in his face and leave his sister alone, and actually getting physical for once when kendall tried grabbing her. it was always them. so there.
