Fika-Joakim 'Jolly' Karlsson teaser:

Blinking up at him, I was rooted to the ground, spinning while standing straight. Dizzy in my blood and my soul. I was breathing like I was Icarus when he finally felt the air between his wax wings as he flew towards the sun like I’d been inhaling a special kind of oxygen you could only find in the clouds. I was trying to keep myself from breaking the spell between us to ask him what he said in Swedish. 

With his hand still caressing my cheek, Jolly leaned in so carefully all while breathing but yet not breathing. Our hearts beat between us and he was so close now, I could almost feel the softness of his lips. While our first kiss seemed to have a rushed start, it was as if Jolly wanted to enjoy the build-up; and take his time with me. 

I couldn’t feel my legs, my fingers, or the cold emptiness of this room because all I felt was Jolly everywhere, filling everything in and around me. Then all at once, Jolly’s lips were on mine, softer than anything I’d ever known. My hands found his chest, grasping his necklace between my fingers while one hand tangled in my hair and the other grazed up the bare skin of my thigh.

His lips were soft like the first snowfall of the season. They tasted like biting into cotton candy for the first time and the explosion of sweetness filling your mouth; so effortlessly sweet. I felt weightless while floating in the water when his tongue slipped between my lips and I moaned as our kiss deepened. Slowly, Jolly backed me up towards his bed and when I felt the edge of it smack against the back of my knees, the two of us fell into a heap of tangled limbs and tongues. 

I'm still working on this piece of art! I'm hoping to have it posted before this Sunday!

Candle wax and polaroids on the hardwood floor

You and me, forevermore

December 30

Tomorrow was New Year's Eve. That means the end of the year is soon. Right now, you were currently in the restroom. You've just taken shower, so you were doing your hair.

After you got dressed, you went downstairs to find your boyfriend in the kitchen. As you walk in, he looks up at you and smiles.

"There you are." He says before raising his coffee cup to his lips, taking a sip out of it.

"What's that supposed to mean?" You ask, laughing.

He sets the coffee cup down, and looks back at you.

"Well, I wanted to ask you something." He replies.

Raising an eyebrow, you step closer to him, wrapping your arms around him.

"And what would that be?" You ask.

"Since tomorrow is New Year's Eve...I was wondering if you wanted to go out for the day? Like a date?" He suggests.

"I'd love to." You smile, kissing his cheek.

He then turns around, and kisses you back, but on the lips this time.

"It's a date then." He says after pulling away from the kiss.

December 31st, New Year's Eve

You had both agreed to be out of the house no later than noon. Which you did.

Currently, you were in the car. Jolly was driving, and you were in the seat next to him.

"So, what's the plan for today?" You ask.

"Right now, we're going somewhere for food. Not spoiling the rest though, it's a surprise." He says, glancing at you and smiling.

"Okay." You reply, smiling back at him.

After you and Jolly have your meals at the restaurant, he pays for everything and you both leave. Next, he drives to a location that is unknown to you.

As he parks the car, you turn to him.

"Alright, where are we?" You ask.

"Well, since we're here I might as well just tell you. We're at a miniature golf course." He replies.

"Oh, I like this idea." You say.

"Knew you would. C'mon, we don't have all day. I have more plans after this." He chuckles, getting out of the car.

While you're both in the golf course, you keep beating him.

"Let me win just once?" He asks.

"Only because you asked nicely babe." You laugh.

You let him not once, but twice.

"Thanks pretty girl. I'll pay you back later." He says, kissing your cheek.

Your cheeks flush as he did that.

"Noted." You say.

As you play golf with him for a while longer, he checks the time.

"Alright, last round. We gotta get going soon." He tells you.

"Mmm, okay." You say.

After the last game, you both leave. This time Jolly does not tell you where you're headed as he told you it was a surprise.

Before you left this morning, you brought a polaroid camera with you. You wanted to take photos for the memories. Which you had already did, at the golf course.

He parks the car, and you see fireworks going off in the sky.

"Fireworks?" You ask.

"You told me a while back about seeing them on New Year's. So here we are." He says while caressing your thigh.

You smile at him again, and a few minutes later you both get out of the car. Once you both find a place, Jolly stands behind you and wraps his arms around you, resting his head on your shoulder.

"God I love you." You say.

"Love you too." He says.

While you're waiting for it to turn to midnight, you take some pictures on your camera. As it gets closer, you and Jolly walk back to where you were standing originally.

You're looking at the sky as you hear voices.

"5..."

"4..."

"3..."

"2..."

"1..."

January 1st, New Year's Day

"Happy New Year's!"

Fireworks start shooting into the sky, lighting it with colors. As this happens, both you and Jolly kiss.

You both eventually pull away, and he ends up taking your camera to take a picture of the both of you.

Once you eventually get home later on, you leave all the polaroids on the kitchen counter.

When you woke up later, you had lit up some candles. As they were going, you admired the photos you and Jolly had taken.

What a New Year's to remember.

i have so much to say aboht the avavav runway

can we hear it? because from one side i get it, the whole thing is about the rush of the fashion world, the hidden part that people don’t get to see. but from another side… idk it looked kinda corny to me… there were some cool outfits but overall i found it underwhelming

I forgot about this ask so im gonna give a very brief rundown of what I think then maybe get into it once I get my fashion blog set up properly bc im too scared to write on it rn .

long and short of it is that these runways are less about the clothing itself and more about the impact and presentation of the collection. its more of a performance art piece than it is an opportunity to observe trends in high end fashion and this is something that avavav is popular for- their Milan fw23 show creating this narrative about fast fashion and the superficiality of the fashion industry with the clothes intentionally breaking and falling apart as the models walked down the runway. 2022 I think was her first show where all of the models intentionally tripped and fell and it sent the fashion realm into a tizzy bc ppl were so upset at the bad quality of the show which is exactly what she wanted to happen bc it was a commentary on the seriousness of the fashion industry and the desire to seem rich that causes this disconnect from our humanity because we want to be perfect we want everything to be perfect and I love her for that .

avavav runways are just so iconic to me I love the way she utilises clothing, the set, even the models to create this story and bring to light an understanding within the audience of the internal problems of the fashion industry like this one about how designers are expected to churn out designs keep on top of ever-changing trends and how designers struggle to meet these expectations because their creative freedom is limited by time constraints and pressure so its this display of unfinished garments it starts seemingly fine until the model turns round with and 'add back? note where the rest if the garment should be and that evolves to become these shapeless oddly structured garments like the styrofoam blocks the duct tape the post it note suit to close the collection that just visualises the designers desperation to finish the collection on time now just using anything around her to add to garments that she can fix later she can shape later she'll do it she's just under so much pressure right now hence the collection title no time to design .

I love beate karlsson I think its such and interesting display of activism and commentary through fashion snd I bet its fun for the models too .
