#because I live near prarie and mountains
Note
Different anon on the Branson thing. I am absolutely thrilled to know that someone from Missouri pins RC near Branson, because that was exactly my guess too and I’ve never even set foot in the state. I HAVE lived briefly in New England, though, and nothing about RC says New England to me. 😂
Right???? New england never made sense to me, like?? Idk i’ve been in the ozarks a lot in my life, like A lot A lot, and like the visuals of re1 remind me a lot of the mountains around branson and table rock lake. They’re not big mountains, and the ones in re look more like that. More hill like. Also the mix of prairie like areas and mountains, like thats a plateau bby Kinda apalachian/ozark-y, but more prairie. The intro to re2make has leon and claire goin through a real flat area, and like. Missouri is prarie plateaus, just sayin. Just like, like. Yeah it could be somewhere else, but in context, ozark’s makes the most sense to me. And i’m gonna use my missouri knowledge to my advantage, i have a plan for another fic eventually thats gonna get real damn nitty gritty with my missouri knowledge, y’all i wanted to be a fuckin conservation officer, i know so much dumb shit abt missouri wildlife and natural enviroment, i’m fuckin. Feral.
ALSO (and this is literally just cause i know the area) THERE WAS AN ABANDONED HOUSING/RESORT PROJECT FOR YEARS WHERE THE FUCKING HOUSES LOOKED LIKE CASTLES????? Like??? Does that NOT have resi vibes, like that could totally be a fuckin umbrella thing, secret lab under those stupid abandoned resort houses. I think they tore it down now but i saw them whenever we went to silver dollar city cause it was on the way from my grandpas house andnsnf, i always wanted to sneak into em and look around, i prolly woulda been killed by a licker lets be real

I have a problem and it’s called native wildflower landscaping.
There’s a program in my area called “Grow Native!” (the exclamation point is important, yes) to encourage this sort of thing. I have gone to my local nursery twice this week to buy plants. I am driving across the city tomorrow to buy other, different plants. And the inventory list for yet a third plant sale just dropped and I want them.
The front beds are already full of creeping phlox, but I’m adding poppy mallow, Ozark sundrop, false indigo, beardtongue, and coreopsis to the mix, and maybe St. John’s Wort if I can get it. Along the side, if the wintercreeper doesn’t defeat me, I’ve put some wild strawberry in the ground and I’m hoping to add bee balm, bluestar, and milkweed, and maybe a cardinal flower or two.
Last year I tried to do more extensive work in the back, which has the double problem of deep shade most of the day and crummy clay soil. The celandine poppies came back like gangbusters, as did the Sweet William I accidentally uprooted, the goat’s beard I thought I’d lost to an unfortunate weed-whacker incident, and the spikenard and turtlehead that I was pretty sure died from under-watering. I also managed to sow some Blue-Eyed Mary last fall that has come up delightfully. This year I’ve added columbines, New England aster, native stonecrop, and I’m in the market for alumroot, Jacob’s Ladder, and possible some Solomon’s Seal or Indian Pink. I’m also taking a second stab at wild ginger, which didn’t do so well last year (might be the location).
I want spice bushes and Virginia creeper and native hydrangeas and honeysuckle and blazing star and bush clover and copper iris but I DON’T KNOW WHERE TO PUT ANY OF IT.
(And this isn’t even accounting for the vegetable garden...)

(Far Cry 5) OC Quiz
Thank you to the always darling and lovely @yancy-trash for the tag. You are just a sweetheart, and I love you, sis!
------/------
Captain Meredith "Meriweather" Brassard
Asked someone to marry you? - Guilty as charged. Mere doesn't exactly have a filter much when she's drunk, and with being drunk most of the time on her last year of tour in Kuwait and Afghanistan of the Middle Eastern War (2009).
Kissed one of your friends? - Guilty. There truly is no filter when the quarters are tight and desert nights lead to solitude like tension.
Danced on a table at a bar or tavern? - Guilty. In her younger years before she enlisted, some of Hope County's most unknown and basically hidden away bars serves as her grounds of escape. The liquor was always hand made and stronger than anything recreational and legal for that matter.
Ever told a lie? - Guilty. This applies to many situations, and sometimes the lies are far worse than others... Sometimes the lies were to escape from situations that would have gotten worse if the lie wasn't told. And sometimes to avoid the truth, despute the pain that follows from an improper reply.
Had feelings for someone whom you can't have? - Guilty. There have been many in the past. In her younger years, living within a family that frowned upon sexuality beyond one man and one woman never allowed for those feelings to truly be elaborated on. Gender was a big barrier, and the farmer girl on the ranch next door was a sight to behold, despite being a couple years older.
Ever kiss someone of the opposite sex? - Guilty, though a rather limited amount. Three or four at the most. This isn't accounting for the drunken nights where she can hardly remember how she even got back home in one piece.
Ever kissed someone of the same sex? - Guilty. Oh the rebellious teenage years, sneakinh out and experimenting. Nothing really became too solid besides her first relationship with a woman, and even then, that only lasted a few months.
Kissed a picture? - Innocent. She has never seen the need to do such. Maybe holding it close to her chest or clutched tightly within her hand, but there hasn't been a need to kiss it.
Slept in until 5pm? - Guilty. After her final tour and returning home to Hope County, she had become quite the deinker again, though this was to simply knock her out so she'd actually sleep a decent amount. Drunkness does this to you.
Fallen asleep at school or work? - Innocent. Surprisingly, she's never been tired enough for such. Even during her tours, the gunfire never truly had let up enough to allow for slumber.
Held a snake? - Guilty. Fuck yeah she's held a snake, and killed many during her time on the farm too. Prarie rattlesnakes, Crotalus lutosus. You name it, she's picked it up at some point or another after having killed it.
Been suspended from school? - Innocent. She's never had a chance to be caught smoking in the back of the school or sneaking a sip of moonshine from a friends water bottle because when she was younger before her period of rebellion, she was an innocent, Christian girl. Now things have changed...
Stolen something? - Guilty. From candy bars to alcohol, she's been rather sneaky. Her period back in Hope County after her tour has yileded more oopertunities for ammo stealing and the quick nab of a can of food here or there if her hunts are unyielding.
Done something you regret? - Guilty. She's regretted a lot in her life. Leaving her family behind (despite how shitty they were), breaking up with her partner before going to war and leaving the relationship sore and broken. She's even regretted the things that were out of her control. She's regretted the death of her fellow platoon members, not being able to get there fast enough. Regretted missed shots that could have saved the one at her side...
Caught a snowflake on your tongue? - Guilty. The Whitetail Mountains, when she decided to reside there (instead of the family far near Falls End), had rather pleasant to horrid winters. Hard not to be a child when you're alone and just need a moment to smile.
Laughed until liquid came out of your nose? - Innocent. Somehow that's never happened, but there always is a chance that that can change.
Kissed in the rain? - Innocent. Too sappy for her taste. She may yearn for love and all it's collective goodness but that... That there is just too much. Too 'P.S. I Love You' sorta shit.
Sat on a roof top?- Guilty on so many levels. In her younger years, it ranged from the farm home to the barn itself. Mainly which ever was far more quiet at the time. During the military, that was the means of staying at a vantage point. You always had to be above your pray. Now the cabin she stays at serves as a nice look-out for incoming Malitia and Cultist.
Kissed someone you shouldn't? - Guilty. She kissed her commanding officer upon a drunken dare, left to clean the barracks from top to bottom for three months. Other than that, not really.
Sang in the shower? - Innocent. There's no need for someone to fall over dead with how hideous her singing voice is. She'd rather have the radio playing during this time.
Been pushed into a pool with all your clothes on? - Innocent. There was no pool growing up. Unless you count a lake as a pool, she's still unused to the idea of such and lacks the experience of it.
Shaved your head? - Guilty. Voluntarily... No. There was a time where the best torture was the kind that degraded. I'll leave it at that.
Slept naked? - Guilty as fuck. Home by herself? Bra off, letting those babies fly! Then it's shower and bed. No need to dress when it's just her. Now during her time in the military and aside from that, her childhood, that was a big ole hell no.
Made a boyfriend/girlfriend cry? - Innocent. They've made her cry before, and they've had other means before the military for ways of bringing tears to her eyes that were not of joy.
Donated blood? - Guilty, but for a good cause! Nothing like a quick 'give me your arm' when a soldier is bleeding out and you share the same blood type.
Eaten alligator meat? - Innocent. She's ate some unusual things, but never that.
Eaten cheesecake? - Guilty. Damn her sweet tooth.
Still loved someone you shouldn't have? - Guilty. She grows connections, no matter how toxic, and in the end... She just wants to keep running back. She just wants to be loved even if it means a false sense of it.
Have / Had a tattoo? - Guilty!! Both arms have 3/4 sleeve tattoos. She got them before and during her military time. Just adding on and adding on to cover eaxh new scar that appeared.
Liked someone, but will never tell who? - Fucking guilty. She can't quite help being in that area and having to hear their voices constantly.
Been too honest? - Guilty. There were a lot of times where hope had been lost, and facts needed to be realized.
Ruined a surprise? - Innocent, surprisingly.
Eaten too much that you can't walk after? - Guilty. There had been periods in her time overseas where the food was limited. Coming back to the States usually meant going hog wild and not moving from your spot until you had to get back on a plane to be taken back.
Dressed in men's clothes? - Guilty!
Dressed in womens clothes? - Sadly... Guilty. God she hates fucking dresses and tight fitting clothes. Too confining.
Joined a pageant? - Fucking hell... Guilty. Though she hated every moment of it. The Hope County fair little miss apple pageant. Always sucked ass. Her mother always loved to show off the goods for a 'good farm boy' to come and snag so the family business would keep going.
Still have communication with an ex? - Guilty. Lets just leave it at that...
Been told you're beautiful by someone who meant it? - Innocent. Never, and she still hopes for it one day... But when will that even happen?
Cheated on someone? - Innocent. Now being cheated on? Ha! Yeah... Fucking sucks.
Gotten totally drunk and missed an exam? - Guilty. She didn't mean for it. Just one sip, then it turned dinto five, and soon a whole case of beer...
A total stranger treated you by paying your fare? - Guilty. The uniform has certain perks.
Got so angry that they cried? - Guilty, and it sucks ass.
Tried to stay away from someone for their own good? - Innocent. She never had to do this...
Thought about suicide? - Guilty. The military can change a soldier, and once she was home... Nothing helped. Alcohol was her only medicine, and generally it made it worse.
Thought about murder? - Guilty. Just Guilty...
Actually murdered someone? - Guilty. Exit one war and come back home to another.
Thought about mass murder? - Guilty. The war changes so many views...
Actually commited a mass murder? - Guilty. That's on a need to know basis.
Rode in a strangers car? - Guilty. Cabs and Uber's are a life saver when drunk.
Stalked someone? - Guilty. There was always a target in that fucking war.
Had a girlfriend? - Guilty. Two.
Had a boyfriend? - Guilty. One.
Gotten totally drunk during a holiday? - Guilty. We shall never mention Christmas with the platoon.
Tagging: Anyone who wants to do it! Have fun with it! ❤
