#because hordak is HER lab partner
Princess Entrapta, from the 2018 Netflix reboot of She-Ra
Strengths: willingness to examine supernatural phenomena from a scientific standpoint; cybernetic prehensile hair allows her to escape from basically any physical restraints Dracula puts her in; has shown resistance to mind-controlling effects above and beyond other characters in the show; experienced in befriending pale-faced evil geniuses like Hordak; carries a shitton of tools on her person at all times
Weaknesses: would absolutely go poking around in the deeper areas of the Castle; tends to focus on learning more about a threat rather than dealing with it immediately; might make Dracula's brides jealous; lackluster sense of self-preservation
I was scrolling my inbox looking for an appropriate one to schedule for Pi Day (shockingly, no one has submitted any Talking Pies) and this seems like the right option
Oh Entrapta... it's all in the name isn't it. Would she see Dracula as a potential lab partner I wonder? She's very [whatever]-century up to date with a vengeance and he is more about the old powers which mere modernity cannot kill. And she's into that to! But there are no robots to play with in Castle Dracula. Maybe they could bond over their mutual love of trains (I have to assume Entrapta would love trains. They're not robots, but they're the closest the 1890s have to offer). Although why would you invite Princess Entrapta to your castle if you haven't got any robots to mess with?
But yeah, it's canon that as long as Entrapta has Science to do she's not going to be too concerned about being a prisoner or how evil her hosts are. But I worry that Castle Dracula will lack the sort of enrichment she needs. She also exclusively eats tiny food (hey, just like the Girlies) which Dracula may or may not be willing to accommodate. Maybe making tiny food will be less repulsive to his vampire senses so it's actually a plus.
I think Dracula's weird hours, excessive grabbing, and invasions of privacy would also not particularly bother her because she does all that too. (That hair of hers has no concept of personal space whatsoever. .......actually if she could make Dracula's mustache I think he would be super into that). On the other hand I think Entrapta would be very vulnerable to his overtures of friendship. She is easy to manipulate if you can get at her actual insecurities, and friendship is one of them. Especially with not being put-off by Dracula's eccentricities, if he tells her they're friends she's going to believe him and act accordingly.
I don't think locked doors pose any particular barrier to Entrapta, either practical or social. Ladies' wing nothing, she's in his walls now. The Girlies present a quandary. You say that Entrapta is not particularly mesmerable; and amoral as she can be, I doubt she'd be on board with baby eating. IF, I suppose, she figures out that that's what's going on. People are not her strong suit. Dracula says "I too can love" and she sits up like "aw really! That's sweet of you! But more importantly, how are you guys doing that moonbeam thing?"
I've said before Dracula expects people to react in a certain way and uses it to toy with his food, but Entrapta does not react as expected. To the Horrors at least - once he figures her out a bit as I have said he can then get into the emotional manipulation and abuse... if he is bemused by her enough to get there. How does Dracula react to being grabbed and poked and prodded by other people's hair?
So circling back, I don't think Dracula can really contain her, but she may not have any particular reason to leave. He can definitely emotionally break her. I don't think Dracula is as soft hearted as Hordak - a vampire can only love one way: by consumption, to destruction. As much as he might enjoy having an actual friend for a bit, at the end of the day he's a bastard who enjoys being cruel on purpose even more. He probably could figure out a way to kill her, but it's more fun to befriend and then abuse her.
I think the Girlies though hate having her around. She's always getting into things. Does Entrapta recognize this and treat them as a real threat? If so, that's a motivation to also leave once Dracula does. If she doesn't, I don't think she can take all three of them at once.
So presuming she has something to do there, I think Princess Entrapta can survive Castle Dracula, though not without being put through the ringer emotionally. But if she doesn't choose to escape when Dracula leaves, the Girlies get her.

Can I ask Entrapta and Hordak for the character ask meme?
First impression: with Entrapta, she caught my eye even before the show premiered, when I saw the promo art. I fell in love with her design right away, though i didn't care much for her character at first, just didn't get the hype. It is only after she showed her vulnerable side, when she thought her friends abandoned her (but we knew it was not true!), thats when I got invested. Tuned in for the drama, stayed for the purble mad scientist
Tumblr media
Same with Hordak. Didn't care for the character, loved the design. And I loved it specifically because he looked similar to the demon characters from my original story I was working on with a friend at the time. The long pointy ears, the nose, the glowing eyes, the clawed hands and sharp teeth, they also have wings just like Imp!
Oh and I always loved his relationship with Imp, it was so fun to watch these two interact :3
Tumblr media
Impression now: to me personally Entrapta and Hordak are the real heart of the show. They are both integral to the story, they're interesting and fun in their own ways and their relationship is simply the best thing the show has to offer. Plus their personal journeys are so exquisitly tragic, love me some good angst
They're both my lil scrunklies, my beloved chew toys, one of my fave evil power couples. Though I gravitate more towards Hordak, he got that melancholic sad doe eyes rizz. And older brother issues (hes just like me fr🤝)
Favorite moment: oof but there are so many. 'Imperfection is beautiful' and 'I am Hordak' are obviously in my top 5, but I also want to mention some other ones
From entrapdak scenes - the one where they chat while sitting on Hordak's throne, the one where Hordak protects Entrapta from the portal explosion and the iconic "What have you done to me?" scene
As for their personal moments, I still giggle at Entrapta's "Do I need to explain math to you?🤨", also I can't get over her soft hum and lil smile when she remembers her lab partner in the portal reality
And with Hordak, again, love all the scenes where he's so casually adorable with Imp, also s4 moments when he's being obsessed with Entrapta (can't deside between the blushing scene and the 'crying over her' scene)
Idea for a story: For Entrapta I've been thinking about an au where she gets consumed by the Island before her friends find her, turning into this scary powerful monster who still has some of her free will. And she either escapes the island herself, becoming a threat to both the Horde and the rebellion (but eventually she and Hordak save each other with the power of love~), or she stays on BI and has this emotional fight with Adora and Bow where she gets to voice all her fears and grievances, but in the end gets defeated and comforted
For Hordak I have this idea about him meeting another clone with the same defect as him. Maybe he was just fresh out of a pod, and his condition only took a toll on him after the fall of Prime. I imagine Hordak being so gentle and protective of him, giving him all the love and understanding + recourses he was deprived of. I also imagine him finally not feeling so alinated when he's around his own kind, like a black sheep among his "perfect" able bodied brothers, because now he knows he's not the only one
Unpopular opinion: Entrapta's trauma should've been treated more seriously and not forgotten right after the Beast Island episode. S5 felt like s4 events were erased from everyone's memory. Also, it should've affected Entrapta more. Again, where are the conflicted feelings towards Hordak? It was never established that she found out the truth about her exile, that Hordak was lied to and had no idea about it. And where are the conflicted feelings towards Catra? The more I think about it, the more I hate that dumb apology and the fact that it was enough for Entrapta to forgive her, after everything Catra did to her and her loved ones
With Hordak... those are not quite common, but it is still tiring to see some fandom opinions where ppl critique this version of Hordak by calling him a loser and a lame villain/character, because he's not "badass" and "threatening" enough and is bad at his job as the leader of the Horde. Cause like... that's the point. Hordak was bad at this because he was not suited for this role, he is not a leader and thats not bad/contradicting writing, thats just his character trait. He was only trying to mimic the only role model he ever had in his life, trying to fit into Prime's shoes and obviously failing at it, because he's not Prime. He was also programmed to be an obedient slave with no wants or ambitions, not a dominant power hungry ruler, and I can only imagine what it took him to become as powerful and threatening as he is in the show. He did not belong on that throne, not because he's incompetent/useless or stupid or a bad warlord, but because choosing to become Lord Hordak, choosing to go all this way to try and prove himself worthy to his uncaring god was,on itself, his biggest mistake, not the right path for him. The Etherian Horde is like that because it's existence was a mistake
Favorite relationship: romantic? with each other. Platonic? Also with each other, but also -
For Entrapta - her friendship with Adora and Wrongie (also Scorpia, but only pre s5 Scorpia, like girl what happened...)
For Hordak - his bond with Imp and his relationship with Horde Prime (i just love how tragic and messed up it is okay?)
Favorite headcanon: idk if a have a favorite, there are all sorts of hcs, so i'll just focus on a random one I like
I do find the idea of Hordak being creeped out and lowkey haunted by Entrapta's cat painting hilarious, but I also like to think that the cat was her real pet, maybe a childhood pet even, and by keeping the painting she honors the memory of her old friend

Rewatching (and finishing) She-Ra. You know what moment makes Catra irredeemable to me?
Her betrayal of Entrapta.
Poor sweet Entrapta who only stayed on the side of ‘evil’ because she wanted to do science and because she thought she’d been abandoned. Who—even with her loosey-goosey sense of ethics—knew when it was time to back down so as to not destroy the planet and end millions of lives. Entrapta who is (for the most part) too neurodivergent to tell when someone is lying to her or using her so long as the ‘data’ says they should be a friend.
Tumblr media
Catra knows all of this about Entrapta. I don’t think as viewers we had ever seen Entrapta back down from an experiment on grounds of risk until this moment. There’s no way Catra didn’t realize (at least subconsciously) that not listening to her would be catastrophic. And yet. She’s too far gone to care. Catra hardly cares about winning anymore. All she cares about is seeing her opponents lose and if she has to blow up a planet to make that happen…? At least in the emotional state she’s in for the second half of season three, Catra couldn’t care less.
But still: this is all directly in support of her goal such as it is. However, as if sending this woman who trusted her into exile weren’t enough, Catra had to tear even more people apart to cover her tracks.
“Who do you think betrayed you to the princesses?”
Our apparent BBEG, Hordak, it seems had never even come close to having a personal relationship with someone until Entrapta adopted him as her lab partner. For the first time ever he had someone he started to let himself trust. He let himself start to believe she really cared.
Tumblr media
And to cover her tail, Catra tore that fragile trust to pieces with a single lie.

Note
I think Catra’s success rate for entering a poly relationship with Entrapta becomes more challenging in a post season 5 context not only because of her own lingering guilt about the whole Beast Island thing but also because she’ll have a difficult time pitching the idea of sharing Entrapta to Hordak, especially after he sees the electrical burn scars. He’s probably already tried to make amends for his past treatment of her but seeing his lab partner’s back for the first time since The Incident likely still prompted a bit of the old vengeful anger.
Don't get me wrong, TD - catrapta is not remotely canon compliant! But I will draw it anyway.
Like, it's really funny. I can toy with the ship configurations how I like in fanon. But I think I'd find it hard to have both of those pairings at the same time, not just because of hordak, but because of catra :P

Medical Practices
A She-Ra: Princess of Power 2018 fanfiction
Hordak have never been to a doctor in his life, nor did he want to; however, after some convincing, he agreed. They know nothing about his illness nor how to treat it, so they need the advice of a professional. Now he and Entrapta are traveling to a doctor's office on a nearby planet, all the while King Micah is reluctantly chaperoning.
*Part Two to Where Do We Go Know?*
_______________
I am very sorry this fic hasn't been updated in a while. Like Alliance of the Heart, I got bored with what needed to happen for the story to progress, but I persisted. Sorry for how short this chapter is. Maybe in the future, I'll go back and edit this, but I hope you enjoy what I have now.
_______________
Chapter 5: Upgrades
Hordak’s nerves seemed to calm as Darla approached the Crypto Castle gates. Even after his talk with Micah, he still felt an uneasiness in his presence. He knew he still hated him. Which is warranted. Giving Hordak all the more reason to get Angella out of that stupid space between dimensions.
The door hissed open and Entrapta and Hordak descended to the ground.
“Get home safe, Micah!” Entrapta called out.
“Thank you, Entrapta.” He turned his head to Hordak. “I wish you both well.”
Hordak knew what Micah was implying. A silent reminder of his promise.
____________________________________
“Alright, so I’ve already had some ideas about your new exoskeleton,” Entrapta shouted, flying around the lab and pulling up multiple files on her large monitors. She sat on a swivel chair and looked at her lab partner. “But, I want to hear your thoughts first.”
“I suppose,” Hordak paused, not used to detailing what he wanted, and even less used to requesting anything regarding his comfort. “I would like something I can comfortably wear under my clothing, as well as something that would give me a wider range of mobility. Furthermore, I just- I just want to look normal.” He replied, defeated as his fists balled up into his pants.
“It’s whatever you want. This is all for you.” She gave him a small smile. “How about this?” She rose from her seat and used her hair to fling her to a wooden crate in the corner. Hordak approached her as she pushed the lid aside.
“A while back some of the Dryllian Labs created this extremely durable nylon.” She handed a sample to Hordak. “It is supposed to be cut and heat resistant as well as hold up well to blunt force trauma.” Hordak fidgeted with the black nylon in his hand, watching it bend and flex with little resistance. It was made of little pieces of nylon locked together, giving a look similar to chainmail. “Factories have been recently using it to cover the moving parts of heavy machinery. Giving the employees a safer working environment. I’ve been looking to use it in one of my inventions, and this would be the perfect place to test it.” She explained, her eyes lighting up in excitement, causing Hordak’s face to soften.
“You are far too kind to me.”
“Correction,” she raised herself to his eye level, “I love you, and I love to do favors for the people I care about.” She placed her hands on his shoulders and gave him a quick peck on the lips. “Now come on, we need to get started.” She wrapped a tendril of hair around a stunned Hordak and dragged him over to a large monitor.
_________________________________
The couple spent the rest of the day and partly into the night tirelessly working on the new exoskeleton. Once again they gained the smooth and fluid workflow they created in the Fright Zone.
Most of their time was dedicated to the design aspects. How should it be proportioned? How to organize the wiring? How to power it? All questions that required a considerable amount of thought.
After much thought, the couple determined a shape proportionate to the rest of Hordak’s large body. The armor covered the ports along his arms, upper back, and neck. Because of the flexible nature of the nylon, it gave Hordak a much wider range of motion than the mostly metal exoskeletons could not; furthermore, the flexibility of the armor let it slip on like a shrug that clipped in the back. Regrettably, they couldn’t use the original crystal from the old armor. After many interactions with Catra resulted in the crystal getting ripped out, the couple decided on an internal power source.
Once the design was finalized, the actual construction flew by. The armor was constructed using an amalgamation of the first one's tech, Prime tech, and tech from the original skeleton all warped in the black nylon.
After the construction was finally complete, Hordak tried it on and breathed a sigh of relief. He breathed as the power of the suit coursed through his veins. It fit perfectly and hugged his skin like a leather glove. He made small circles with his shoulders to gauge his mobility as he fought back a smile. He turned his head toward his beloved who was sitting on a seat of her own hair as she smiled at him.
“Would you like to see what else I have for you?”
“What else do you have for me?”
“One sec.” She disappeared into a darker part of the lab followed by the sound of rustling. After a moment, she reemerged holding something in her hand.
“I know you struggle to remember to eat and drink so I thought you would need something to remind you.” She fastened a device to Hordak’s wrist. “I designed this watch to sync to your armor, so when you are dehydrated or hungry it will tell you. It also has the ability to do anything a regular data pad can do. Like calls, messages, etc.” She explained as she tapped the watch, pulling up a green holographic screen. “Also, when we get your medications in, I can program reminders for those in too. And yes, it is made with first one's tech.”
“Ho- How did you find time for this?” He asked as every ounce of willpower fought back the urge to cry.
“Oh, I’ve been working on it for a while. It’s no big deal. Do you like i-” Entrapta’s question was cut off by Hordak suddenly wrapping his arms around her midsection and squeezing her tightly against his chest.
“Thank you so much, Princess.” He thanked into her neck. He turned his head to give her a kiss on her flushed cheek as he squeezed her even tighter. “You have no idea how much this means to me.”
“You are welcome, Hordak.” She breathed out as her arms and hair hugged him back.
The couple stayed like that for a long time, neither wanting to let the other go.

HEADCANONS IF ENTRAPDAK WAS CANON IN S2/3 ONWARD
I really would’ve loved to see them interact more in the earlier seasons, (1 or 2) because hordak at first is just this big ass villain that we don’t see much and he’s just this big looming and then in comes a princess that accidentally got locked in and she’s not one bit scared and walks on by and he’s immediately intrigued to find out this woman’s deal and why he kinda likes it?? long story short, yes, they’re seeing each other and yk what good for them and me!
A EPISODE WHERE THE REBELLION KEEPS TRYING TO GET INTO THE FRIGHT ZONE AFTER SEEING THE HORDE GETTING BIG THINGS AND THINK THEY'RE PLANNING SOMETHING BIG BUT NO IT’S ACTUALLY JUST HORDAK IS JUST PREPARING A DATE FOR HIM AND ENTRAPTA AND HE KEEPS TELLING THEM TO PLEASE LEAVE HIM ALONE FOR ONE NIGHT
EPISODE WHERE THE TWO GO ON AN ALONE MISSION AND EVERYONE IS CONFUSED WHY HE'S THERE WITH  HER FOR ‘NO REASON’ BUT HE JUST WANTS TO PROTECT HER
BASED ON THAT ART OF LIKE HORDAK AT PRINCESS PROM- I THINK IT WOULD B HILARIOUS IF HE DID GO AND FREAK THE SHIT OUT OF EVERYONE but he is literally just sitting there wanting to spend time with entrapta so she’s not alone and cause he loves her
catra just having to deal with them being literally attached to each other while she’s not trying to tear out all her hair from frustration like she’ll be waiting to be sent out on a mission but hordak is busy worrying over keeping his lab partner safe
super pal trio having girl time or a sleepover and entrapta gushing about him to catra and scorpia (much to catra's dismay)
her ‘hiding’ in his cape
HER WEARING HIS CAPE (even if it pools around her)
( i think i have seen this before, and yk what i need everyone to know that i frickin' love it-) but her causally chilling in the throne while hordak is the one standing next to her
hordak trying to make announcement to the horde and entrapta just in the background or interrupting randomly and his demeanor changing as soon as she’s near them
a episode about rumors (they progressively get weirder and funnier through it ) about them and what they do together and trying to keep it secret in the worst and obvious way possible but little do they know imp records them and plays it back to them after hours and they just listen to it and laugh while they wind down
her climbing about the throne whilst he's trying to be serious like a lil gremlin
(inspired by some amazing fics!) episode where entrapta gets impromptu taken on a mission by the rebellion that tries to get her back on their side but she isn't complying because she has 'relations' back there but they aren't putting two and two together the whole time meanwhile hordak is losing all his fucking shit trying to find her and get her back
episodes where the super pal trios are out on missions on their own and just having entrapta getting spammed by hordak
and now during the 'imperfections are beautiful' scene and afterwards with the crystal she actually tells him what it means and it is the first time she has said it to him and it is
hordak loving her calling her his queen and lady of the horde and addressing like that teasingly and affectionately <3
the first time soldiers/cadets call her the title it does not even phase her in the slightest
gag idea for this au: the rebellion is either 110% oblivious with them being together and every time someone or they (entrapta or hordak) try to tell them they just interrupt them and it is just so silly
or they just know by looking at them (there's no in between)
hordak gifting her weapons of mass destruction and war crime and shit and her seeing it being the most romantic thing (because it is!)
and even more angsty hordak during season 4, leaning even more into wanting to show off to ur ex that you are doing great since the break up cliche
and flip side with entrapta being angsty and just wanting to forget about their ex cliche
ergo a even more emotional reunions/meetings in season 5, yes i am just doing this for imaginary fan-service (come get ur juice!)
ignore my blatant screaming in the first three hcs, i just got those ideas randomly and scrambled to write them down

How did my Hordak & Catra begrudgingly become friends fic accidentally include such “It’s All Fun and Games Until” vibes?
~
“Okay,” Glimmer glared at them both, alternating between the cells before huffing and starting over. “Let me get this straight. I leave for one week and you two attempted to murder one another in a public meeting over water usage rights!? Do I have that correct? The Prince Regent of Brightmoon was attacked by the Prince Consort of Dryl, and responded by attempted murder? Am I MISSING something here?”
Catra had never once really felt solidarity with Hordak, but even with a wall between them she felt it now.
“Yes,” she said, “you’re missing the part where your guards didn’t do their job to prevent or stop this from happening. Also I don’t think prince consort of dryl is a real title.”
“It is not.” Hordak piped up. “I am Entrapta’s lab partner. Additionally the Prince Regent did not try to murder me. We simply had an aggressive difference of opinion, and expressed it in a manner appropriate to our…culture?”
First of all, what a jerk. Catra scowled at her temporary title being bandied about like this. She could not even give him points for his attempt to explain the situation, because it was such a rusted explanation!
Glimmer growled, hands scrubbing at her face before she clapped her hands together. Her smile was only a little unhinged as she said, “Okay, so the Prince Regent of Brightmoon was attacked by Entrapta’s Lab Partner in a meeting about water usage rights, and my acting head of state responded by violence which you reciprocated. Is that better? Is that what you want to hear? Is this what happened???”
Catra glanced at the stone wall as if she could see Hordak’s reaction.
“STOP TRYING TO SILENTLY COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER AND ANSWER ME!”
“Yes.” Hordak answered.

‘Tis Only a Flesh Wound
She-Ra fanfiction Entrapdak Entrapdak Mini-Month Rated PG - Graphic description of injury  Prompt / Theme - Day 5 - Clumsy  Summary: Entrapta has all of the self-preservation instincts of an overripe potato, and she has trouble taking a serious injury as seriously as she should.  Lucky for her, Hordak is an excellent surgeon.   Somewhat inspired by a video game character from a game I have played very little of.  The character’s backstory was very Entrapta-like.  Both are women of science and asskickery.   ____________________  ‘Tis Only a Flesh Wound “Oops…” “ENTRAPTA!” She dropped the handheld circular saw she had been wielding in her hair sharply on the work-table.  Blood was running from her upper left arm in alarming amounts. It spurt slightly before she quickly wrapped a tendril of hair above it, forming a tourniquet.   “Remain still and let me see it!  Keep your hair tight!”   Entrapta’s skin was paling.  “Accidents happen!” she said.   Her demeanor and the fact that she was not howling in agony were bad signs – severed nerves, shock… Hordak needed to work swiftly.  More importantly, he had to keep calm.  He tried to will his hearts to steady.  This was a difficult task, as whenever Entrapta got so much as a headache, some part of him thought that she was dying.  Losing her again was chief among his fears.   Hordak grabbed a blanket and tucked it around Entrapta’s shoulders, careful of the wounded arm.  He muttered to himself the guidelines he’d learned for treating Etherians for cases of acute physical trauma and heavy blood loss.  He flicked his ears, both in agitation and because he knew that it entertained Entrapta and would hopefully keep her awake and present-minded.   As he was examining the wound, Entrapta reached a bloodied bit of hair for the saw and squinted at the robot she had been working on.  Hordak grabbed the handle of the device.   “Drop it…” he hissed, immediately regretting how harsh he sounded.  “How can you think of work at a time like this?”   “I need to finish the positronic-brain install,” she insisted.  “It’ll only take a sec!”   “You have just sustained a major injury.” He gave her a glare, “A life-threatening one for your species.”   “Just clumsy, I guess! I’ve had worse!”   Hordak swiveled the work-table lamp to shine over the cut.  “Take a look,” he said cooly, applying pressure to the area above the wound with a firm grip, assisting her hair. “Oh, no, I guess I haven’t had worse,” the young woman conceded.  “Is that bone?” Hordak grunted.  He called to Imp.  “Don’t be afraid, he said to him, “I need you to fetch my surgical-tools and medications.” “Mother?” Imp asked, using a recording of Glimmer’s voice.  How he had picked that up, Hordak did not know.   “Entrapta will be fine if we act quickly,” he assured the batling.   “Faaaaaascinating,” Entrapta drawled. Her speech was mildly slurred. “Ow! Ow!  It’s actually starting to hurt now.” “I am sorry for moving my fingers without warning,” Hordak apologized.  “I am afraid that the healing-process will be agony.”   “Don’t wooooory about it,” Entrapta said, reaching for her tool again, with her good hand this time.   “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” “At this rate,” she answered, “I should just cut the whole thing off! We have all of these prosthetic designs we’ve been working on as part of our payback to the Etherian populace and those experiments we’ve been working on to replace your forearms.”   Her face lit up in pure excitement.  Her hair frizzed.  “IN FACT, I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR AN ACCIDENT JUST LIKE THIS ONE TO TEST MY THEORIES!” Hordak winced.  No wonder people all over called Entrapta a mad scientist with an emphasis on the mad part. Hordak, out of character for him in most situations, but in character for his dealings with his lab partner, took the gentle approach.   “We do not know how well a prosthetic will work,” he said, “Even with your brilliant designs, techno-organic integration is no small feat.  The technology for its integration with my people was lost when Horde Prime was…destroyed. You may not be able to achieve full-mobility.”   Entrapta gave him a serious, pleading look, along with a wince.  “I will not achieve full-mobility as it is.  This cut is deep.  I feel like a boned-out ham!”   Imp returned with a large black case. Hordak instructed Entrapta to keep her hair wound above the wound while he made haste to prepare a syringe of a powerful numbing-agent.  He found a viable point and injected it.  Hordak was not entirely new to such things, but he rarely used them when he was hurt. Horde Prime’s indoctrination was one of conserving such valuable resources and of suffering bringing moral clarity and purity.  As such, any surgeries that clones endured came without anesthetic or other pain-management agents unless it was absolutely necessary to keep them from moving during the procedure.  Entrapta insisted that Hordak take painkillers at least every once in a while – although he loathed certain side-effects.  His condition, being written into his genes, had no cure, only management.  Entrapta, however, had a simple, straightforward wound.   “Adora may assist us,” Hordak proposed. “She does not call up She-Ra often, but surely she can for this.” “She’s in deep space,” Entrapta reminded him. “We couldn’t go, remember? We had those timed cell-matrix experiments and I didn’t want to leave you alone. I’m going next time, though.  And next time, I’ll get to show off my new robot-arm!” With the injury properly quick-staunched and a feed of blood installed through an IV-line (Entrapta kept a vault of her own blood as well as donated clone-blood, regularly drawn, just in case of lab accidents – a measure that Hordak had insisted upon), Hordak got an even better look.   “Barring an ability to procure Adora swiftly, I reluctantly agree with you.  The limb, at this point… is lost.” “See?  I told you I was right!  Now let me get that saw!” Hordak snatched it off the table before she could grab it.  “I shall do it,” he insisted, “with proper sterilization.”   Imp looked on in worry, but laid the surgical case before him.  He passed a magnifier to Hordak, a scalpel and tools for stitching.   “Can you fetch the shoulder-mount prototype for me?” he asked his creation, “The left arm; the small, slender one.”   He looked to Entrapta as Imp flew off. Imp was not always – or often – so obedient, but could be helpful for the people he cared about.  His actions around Hordak were practiced.  The child knew every tool.  Hordak had done many surgeries on himself, after all, with Imp watching. “I should call the doctors and have you put under for this,” Hordak muttered.   “No way!” Entrapta pressed, “I wanna watch it all!  And help! Besides, the resident doctors are clone-doctors… and other Etherians don’t’ have the knowledge for this.  I need to be able to be awake for the attachment of the processors to the nerves.  And, yes… don’t give me that pout! I know that it’s going to hurt, but I trust you! You’re a wonderful surgeon, Hordak!” “I am not so sure that we should do this without assistance.” “Why not?  We’ve studied each other’s bodies thoroughly!” This earned Entrapta one furiously-blushing spacebat.  Hordak’s ears dipped bashfully.   They talked and worked through the night.  Entrapta winced as delicate cuts and necessary stitches and cauterizations were made and her arm was hooked up to a system that was supposed to function very much like a natural arm – save for some optional pop-out tools.
The two scientists casually discussed the preservation of the discarded limb for dissection and study.  Hordak’s jaw went agape at Entrapta’s joke that she could clone an army of herself from it.  She apologized, realizing that she should not say such things around Hordak, even in jest.
The morning found her in an exhausted sleep and Hordak watching her like a hawk.
When her friends came back from their latest mission, their jaws dropped at the shiny new cybernetic arm that Entrapta had to show off.   All because she was clumsy one day in the lab.

The Hordak Switch
For the @spop-palentines prompt Celebrations
Entrapta likes parties. She likes the tiny food, getting to see her friends when they're not all busy with alliance business, observing the social experiment that is social groups forced to mingle. It's more PEOPLE than she'd want around her every day but, once in a while, it's a pleasant way to spend an evening.
Hordak hates parties. He doesn't understand them on a fundamental level. The few people he actually likes of Entrapta's friends he already sees regularly in a far less taxing setting. Being around that many people, having to make small talk with people he barely knows? It makes him antsy.
The problem is that everyone knows Entrapta and Hordak are lab partners. So when she shows up without him, people ask annoying questions, make up nonsense and it interferes with the way Entrapta would prefer to spend her evening.
Fortunately, there is a simple solution. You know who else loves parties? Wrong Hordak. He even loves the parts Entrapta doesn't really care for, the making small talk with strangers and dancing and loud games.
And, the thing is, while their friends can tell easily, the average Etherian doesn't know Hordak or Wrong Hordak from any of the other Horde clones settled on Etheria that they see every day. As long as they remember to dye his hair and he answers to the right name, no one is the wiser. Wrong Hordak actually enjoys the game, slipping into the role with relish.
So Wrong Hordak starts attending parties as Hordak while Hordak himself enjoys a peaceful evening at home. Entrapta gets to see her friends and enjoy the party without people pestering her about where her lab partner is and Wrong Hordak has the time of his life mingling and making friends and charming everyone with his dance moves. It's a perfect solution!
But it has a funny side effect. Hordak gets a reputation as being an absolutely delightful fellow, sweet and personable and downright dashing on the dance floor. And it ends up speeding up the rehabilitation of his public image, much to his dismay. Because then there are even more invitations to affairs he'd rather not attend and so the ruse continues.

“Where’s Hordak?” Don’t worry, he’s just resting 💙
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was a bit ambitious for me, but I just had to! In my version, there’s a bench or two at the base of the ice sculptures, and Hordak is having a rest there. When Entrapta sees photos are being taken, she swiftly fetches her lab partner 💜 I did my best to come up with a design despite not being great with dresses... Anyway, they are together and happy and that’s what matters most!
(Razz is the photographer, because I know that would be utter chaos! And I’d love her to be here too)
I reeeealy wanted to color some of these, but alas, my joints said no. Maybe another time!

Entrapdak Positivity Month, Day 15: Spacebat appreciation
Tumblr media
It is time for the clones to master the art of ✨leisuring✨
Looks like Hordak's actually enjoying his well-deserved afternoon nap, good for him. It only took Entrapta several hours to convince her lab partner to join his brothers outside^^ -------------------------------------------
- As pose/background references I used John William Godward's paintings because the clones are works of art :>
- Don't mind random russian songs lyrics, I just wanted to fill in all empty spaces with something

So I started to rewatch the show and I'm noticing things I didn't see the first time, of course. This one I think that is really important.
In this scene, Catra is being quite aggressive to Entrapta, she grabs her and scowls at her very intensely. Now, the first time I watched it I thought "well of course, it's Catra we're talking about". But I watched closer this time.
Tumblr media
Catra knows one thing here: to stop people from doing something you don't want them to do, you must frighten them. And she learned that from mommy Shadow Weaver.
Tumblr media
Also, she likes Entrapta. Entrapta is an outsider, like her. She's smart and she can help her to defeat the Rebellion, and she's been left behind by Adora, like her the Rebellion. Entrapta is one of the few people Catra likes to touch, she does that pretty often (the only other one is Adora, just saying). They're both smoll but deadly also.
Tumblr media
Let's go back to that scene. Catra is violent and aggressive, and she tries to scare Entrapta off. One might think that it's because she doesn't want her to be Hordak's lab partner. And they'd be right. She doesn't want her around Hordak, not even for a second, because...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...that's what she's just experienced with him! He almost asphyxiated her (that's torture guys). He threatened her life, and all she wants is to protect her friend and make sure that he doesn't do it to her too.
Of course she does it the wrong way, but it's the only way she knows. And this leads me to another persone she mistreats all along...
Tumblr media
It made me think. Catra is kind of mean to Scorpia, but she wants her around, as friend. In fact, Scorpia leaving was the last straw for her...
Tumblr media
So I started thinking: what if she kept pushing her away to protect her? Let me explain.
Scorpia's feeling for Catra become obvious quite soon. And that's exactly when Catra starts snapping at her. I might be wrong, but I do believe that she pushed Scorpia away because she knew...
Tumblr media
She always knew. And so she knew that she couldn't give Scorpia what she needed, she couldn't love her the way Scorpia loved her. So she protected her, the only way she knew.
That's only my opinion (I even wrote it in my fanfic), but Catra can be so empathetic and protective, we see it in season 5 of course, so, that's what crossed my mind.

spacebat adora is gross don't do this to my girl
one of the major things about fandom is going in canon divergent directions/making AUs. also death of the author. also adora was originally made by Filmation, the 2018 reboot is just someone else's interpretation...like, y'know, a fandom creation but it had the backing of major companies. i'd say like other fictional characters, adora really does belong to everyone who's felt moved by her in different ways, there's no actual monopoly on her.
also for every anti message i get in my inbox i feel like releasing another spacebat!adora into the wild.
Tumblr media
though maybe i can keep this in the "spacebat adora" tag, it's like a tag now, i think. she's also pretty different herself, not just her design--different backstory, different ship, will be ultimately happier because of the differences in her AU world (after dealing with/starting to deal with some other AU-specific issues she has--but also from the start she's just like, happy, probably about as happy as Imp kinda tends to be). she can stay in "spacebats" tag, "horde clones" tag. nickname her? i think just "Dora" sounds cute.
LOL what if i made her into an AU version of Despara (Despara is an alter ego of Adora from, like, spin-off material related to original canon I think), but it's more an ironic name because she's far more a ray of sunshine ultimately (while still having her own AU-specific issues). if c*tra gets handed a BS/shitty "redemption arc" in the reboot while in original canon she's just a baddie, I can have a Despara who's more a ray of sunshine while being Hordak's hybrid-clone. Desdora?? LOL maybe just Dora. Dory short for Adora too? Just call her Isadora for another close-sounding alternative?
*googles 'Despara' again for a refresher* Ooh, that would be even more appropriate actually.
Possible other nicknames for Despara: Desa, Des, Despa, Para, Desy

Hordak: Name a more iconic duo than my crippling fear of abandonment and my anxiety. I’ll wait.
Entrapta: You and me!!

Spacebat!Adora, or an AU where Adora wasn’t a baby Hordak found in a field but a viable clone-hybrid he made by combining a sample of his genes and preserved DNA* he scavenged from a First Ones ruin. (*Hordak stumbled on preserved samples of Mara’s DNA from the ruins of a First Ones medical facility.) Hordak got Attached while his creation was a baby and abandoned attempts to try to use this one as a new body for himself in favor of having a new little brother (Hordak has trouble articulating that he also misses his clone brothers, but he does)--until Adora says she wants to be his little sister, which he immediately accepts.
Actually, Hordak got attached to the first two viable clone-hybrids out of his attempts to make a new body--Adora and Imp. Imp proved to be a viable clone-hybrid just a few days after Adora. Imp contains a different mix of DNA--like in what’s generally been accepted as canon for Imp, Imp is an attempt to clone Hordak combined with DNA from Etherian bat-like creatures.
Imp was largely hardier than Adora, who behaved more like an average First Ones/Etherian child; but as the years progressed Adora continued to physically grow more than Imp. Later Hordak hypothesizes that this might be the extent of Imp’s growth, while Adora sometimes wonders if Imp might just age differently/age slower (a.k.a. he might age like Baby Yoda).
Hordak pushed experimentation when creating Adora, combining his and the scavenged First Ones DNA in such a way that his creation was somewhat less a clone and more a new hybrid or “offspring.”
Due to *Mara’s DNA:
-Adora’s voice is high-pitched/like her voice in canon. Again, because of the way Hordak combined samples of his DNA and Mara’s, Adora is produced more as a new individual combining the two, and ends up with a voice different from Mara’s.
-There are some differences in Adora’s facial shape and size (this may change later as she grows...)
-Mara’s DNA triggers some comparable traits in Prime’s DNA that are usually suppressed in the Horde Clones: Adora’s crest/hair can start growing long by itself without Prime’s “vessel transitioning” process as a catalyst; Adora has visible pupils like Mara but they resemble Prime’s slit-like pupils.
-Adora’s hands are like Mara’s, they don’t have talons. (And like Imp’s? Looking at screenshots, and I think Imp doesn’t have little talons on his hands.)
-Becoming She-Ra left a mark on Mara’s DNA. While transformed into She-Ra, Mara’s gray-blue eyes become a more intense, pure, saturated blue, and this combined with Hordak’s DNA (which favors intense colors for eyes and teeth) leads to Adora’s vibrant blue eyes and blue teeth.
-The First Ones sword will respond to Adora because she has Mara’s DNA, and she will be able to transform into She-Ra like Mara.
-Light Hope tries to monitor the situation on Etheria when she builds enough energy to, and senses Mara’s DNA in Adora. Light Hope then decides to not push herself and open a portal against all odds to extract a First Ones infant to use as She-Ra. She decides to change her plans and use Adora instead since she contains the DNA of a confirmed former She-Ra (Mara) and is already on Etheria.
(-Not suggesting in this AU that somewhere there’s like a canonish Adora that got to stay where she was and didn’t get dragged to Etheria. The only Adora in this AU would be Spacebat!Adora.)
While Imp got dark hair like Hordak, Adora managed to inherit the hair Hordak was supposed to have. What his defect repressed/changed came out unaltered in Adora.
At first I just wanted to explore drawing Spacebat!Adora, and then an actual AU behind it started coming to me.
Spacebat!Adora does have some echoes of Horde Prime in her appearance for Irony reasons, along with other reasons like wanting to play around with certain things.
(Also Adora does not get the canon ship in this AU. Imp and Hordak wouldn’t want a certain someone to lay even a single attacking claw on their sister.)
And this AU might be just...pretty different? Still brainstorming that. Shadow Weaver may sense the magical potential in Adora (from Mara’s side) and eventually try to kidnap her, and that leads to the Horde splitting into separate factions and Hordak escaping with Adora and Imp to protect them?
More Spacebat/Horde Clone-Hybrid!Adora concepts, much of them partly drawn over screenshots (like the picture above):

For the EPM ask game, I’m very interested in 1 and 5. When did you fall in love with the ship, and what’s your favorite portrayal of Entrapta, Hordak, and them together?
Thank you so much for asking!
When I finished the show, Entrapdak was the part that stuck with me the most. When I looked at the fan art for their ship, I saw the "And they were Lab Partners" joke and couldn't stop laughing. So I blame that vine reference for where I am today.
5. My favorite portrayal of Entrapta is basically her canon self, but she takes no one's crap and has better boundaries. She is also a very good friend, but the Alliance never bothered to get to know her enough.
With Hordak he is much like his canon self, but with more self-respect. Definitely, the straight man to all the chaos around him, rolling his eyes at his friends' and acquaintances' antics before stepping in to help. I also firmly believe he is skilled at hand-to-hand combat and war, and the reason the war was suffering in the show is because he stepped away and trusted his lackeys to deal with it.
As a couple, they are definitely Morticia and Gomez Addams in the sense they are deeply in love and are in sync with each other. Also, in terms of intelligence, they are very close in intelligence levels. It mostly depends on what the subject is. For instance, Entrapta is better at the engineering part while Hordak is better at mathematics and chemistry.
Thanks again for asking! Also, I love your fics for EPM!

Entrapdak Is Wholesome AF!
Hordak is always respectful towards Entrapta. He takes her seriously as a fellow adult and addresses her accordingly. He patiently listens to her when she tells him things about herself that he can relate to. Despite his low self-esteem, he doesn’t sink to any sort of macho posturing when she is assertive. He never seems annoyed by her unfiltered enthusiasm. On the contrary, he appears to find it endearing, and to enjoy discussing science with her.
The only time we see him lash out at her is when he is clearly agonizing over the prospect of losing her. It's like he wants to rip off the band-aid, as it were, just focusing on the task at hand. You can see from Entrapta’s sad expression that she understands this. She clearly knows how deep his issues run, that there's nothing she can do to discourage him. So, despite how much this must hurt her, she supports him in his endeavour anyway because it is important to him. She nudges him but never pressures him to delay it. She does all of this of her own volition because she cares about him and believes in him reaching his goal, just as he believes in her potential to help him solve this as his lab partner.
They enjoy each other's company and see each other as equals and friends. Could a foundation for a romantic relationship possibly get more sturdy? I think not 💜
