UNTITLED EVIL LUIGI AU COMIC THING | Page 2 & 3 of (???)
Eggman Bowser’s come to make an announcement. Particularly to shut down any premonitions Mario may be holding onto a little too tightly. Bowser and Mario are able to set aside their differences (for now, at least) so that they can work together on a common goal-- figuring out where the hell Luigi is.
(A/N under cut)

believe me when i say i really wanted to link all the pages together in a neat, practical way so that everything would appear more organized than it actually is, but tumblr hates me and won’t let my posts show up in the tags if i include a hyperlink of any kind. :D
i read somewhere that tumblr only disallows posts from showing up in tags if it includes an external link (vs an internal/link to another tumblr page), which, in theory, shouldnt be an issue since the pages i’d be linking to are also on tumblr but regardless it’s not cooperating with me anyway. i’ve been on tumblr for what feels like a million years but this is the first time ive tried to make my posts cohesive like this so if anyone knows how to fix this issue im all ears 🙃 for the record, everything related to this au will be going into the following tags on my blog: #my art, and #evil luigi au. we’ll just have to sort things that way for now, i guess 😭
i start work tomorrow so can’t say when there will be a new page but i do have a lot planned out already. so hopefully i’ll be able to continue what ive started for at least a handful of more pages 🤠 next page will be fun to work on. for a bowuigi-centered story, where’s the luigi?! he’ll show up soon. just in the form of a flashback for now though 👀
also sorry if my handwriting is evil. it’s just personally easier/faster to write out everything by hand than type everything out but i may try to type the next page’s dialogue to see how it goes and to see if it makes things look ✨cleaner✨
(also also i spent so much time trying to figure out how to draw them doing a handshake for the “truce” panel. i ultimately failed. therefore.... fist bumps LMAO)

i keep thinking about the datamined conversation between halsin and minthara and what gets me about it is that if you side with halsin and turn minthara away, thats objectively the bad choice.
like at this point, you've rescued minthara from moonrise. you know now that she was being controlled to act against her will. you've gone to the trouble of rescuing her from her tormentors, and you've experienced what it felt like as they tried to destroy her mind. you know what will happen to her if you turn her away. and if you do, you're willingly condemning her to that fate. you've essentially allowed her to experience freedom, to regain her sense of self, only to tear that away from her again.
whereas if you side with minthara, and halsin leaves, that's the only consequence he experiences. that he's not a companion anymore. at this point, we've saved the grove, we've saved him, and we've lifted the shadow curse. we've helped him achieve what hes been hoping to do for over a century. leaving your party won't see him lose his free will. he can return to the grove and live his life.
the choice is essentially either condemn someone to a fate worse than death, knowing exactly what that entails vs not letting someone travel with you anymore. its pretty clear cut to me.
its just interesting to me that they've switched the morality of it around given that minthara is considered the 'evil' companion by so many.

You said in tags once that pedophiles and child predators aren't the same, can you explain why? /GEN
For the same reason that people with any kind of attraction to anyone ever aren't all rapists/don't all pursue romantic/sexual feelings that could or definitely would hurt the other person. Because paraphilias are simply the morally neutral state of experiencing attraction and rape/grooming is Not That. Because people *choose* to hurt others, but not what they feel. Because a good majority of child sexual abusers aren't even pathologically/paraphilically attracted to children, they *just want to hurt them because they can.* Because they're dissatisfied with something in life, or want a punching bag, or want to feel powerful, etc etc.
It's not really different conceptually from physical abuse. Do people do it because they have icky feelings about liking blood or violence? No. They do it to feel powerful. Sexual abuse is not about sex but about power. Hope this answers your question. I've answered it a good million times on this blog but eh I'm in a generous mood.

yeah have some uhhhhhh fuckin,, 4am angst from last night lmfao
tw: suicide and death mentions (canonical ending of 3rd life)
So he tries again. "Scar," he says, "I killed you."
Scar blinks. "I mean– yeah, I heard you the first time, but, uh... why is that a big deal, again?"
Grian stares up at him. Trembles. In the absence of the sheets and Scar's body, he is very, very cold. He's unsure how to take this icy pit at the core of him and shove it into Scar's hands, so he can look, so he can see the creeping abscess within.
"Scar–" he tries, then breaks off, chewing the inside of his cheek. "Scar, I– I thought– you really don't remember anything?"
Scar's smile is strained at the corners. "Nope, sorry. Believe me, I've tried, but–" he raps his knuckles against his forehead– "there's nothing up here in the ol' noggin that knows what you're talking about."
Grian falls silent, and Scar falls silent too, and between them that yawning chasm widens another perilous inch.
Grian takes in a deep, juddering breath. "I didn't remember anything either. From– from Hermitcraft."
A visible ripple of tension runs through Scar's body. "Wait, really?"
"Yeah." Grian's throat is dry. "None of us did. We didn't... I knew I knew you, and I knew we– that we'd played games together before, but... not like this one. Not so... permanent."
There. That's the word he's looking for, wrenched from his throat and held out in bloody palms like an offering. Permanence.
Copper floods his mouth; he's bitten through his own cheek, and Scar catches his wince. "You okay, G–?" he starts, but Grian just shakes his head, cuts him off.
"Scar, when I killed you, I thought it was permanent. I thought you–" he chokes on it, just a bit. Punches through the knot tying up his throat. "I thought you were gone forever."
Then, succinct: "I jumped."

God every day I think about Akane’s breakdown in door 3 because there really is no correct way to interpret that and every possibility makes me crazy. Like she sees this fucked up corpse whom Junpei (and the player, depending on how they play) believes is their friend Snake, but she knows that it’s Guy X. It’s a man she very intentionally put in the game for this very purpose, so that he could die horrifically and be displayed for everyone to see. And she has a full mental breakdown over being trapped in this room with the corpse, being trapped by Junpei, to the point where she rips out her hair and starts bleeding from how much she bangs on the door screaming to get out. And fuck, there’s so many possibilities like
Akane could be feeling genuine terror over the sight of the body, and with that remorse. She made this happen, she wanted this to happen, and now she’s forced to quite literally watch the damage she’s caused unfold. She can detach herself from his murder easily in other timelines where she doesn’t have to look at it, and she can sleep easy knowing that her hands are technically clean because she didn’t do the literal killing. But she can’t do that here, and she has to face the fact that not only did she happily cause this death, she failed her mission. She isn’t going to survive, and now this man is dead for nothing and everything is her fault
On the other hand, her entire breakdown could be completely fabricated in order to keep playing the role of the damsel in distress who is so innocent that the very sight of blood drives her to insanity. The interesting part about this is that if she could fake such a horrific breakdown, just how much of her personality a facade? We know she wants revenge, for everyone from Cradle to feel even an ounce of the pain she and so many others went through, but we don’t get to see the extent of how much she feels this way. We never hear directly from Akane about her feelings on any of the original organizers, just her note about her desire to punish them. She hates them, but does she see their deaths as a necessary evil, or does she feel joy and satisfaction at watching them go? It’s absolutely horrifying not knowing, not being able to see her true feelings, not knowing just how real or fake she is, the extent of her madness. Perhaps she doesn’t even know that herself
IN OTHER WORDS, it’s fucked

i talked alot about juwons guilt but i dont think i properly took the time to indulge in dongsiks guilt (mainly because. look at him. where do you even start) yuyeon going missing + her fingers appearing on their yard is such a pivotal moment for his entire character and his motivations towards the world. like yeah he's angry he's disheartened he's helpless but most of all he's guilty. in a way none of those police thought he was. he's guilty because he didnt look after her better. he's got survivor's guilt on top of that because none of his family members went through that ordeal without either dying or being bedridden, meanwhile he's still walking on two feet and he's still the one people point at and cast aside and still the one cleaning up the house and dusting the windows and visiting his mother and bringing her fruits and trying so, so hard to compensate for what he couldn't manage to do; protect his sister. he becomes caring. thoughtful. loving. he becomes the most sympathetic character among all of them. he cared about every single person in that town despite their wariness towards him. he cared about jihwa and jihoon and jeongje and literally everyone else in that circle in a way he thought he should've been when yuyeon was still around. and still that would never bring her back. which is why on top of all that care and love is the madness and the slight dip into insanity because what's the fucking point. but at the same time it's i cant handle another person ending up like yuyeon. which is why minjeong dying was so fucking heartbreaking because he tried so so goddamn hard to protect these people out of the guilt that he didnt protect his sister enough and STILL he failed at it. (in his own perspective of course) its why he takes the ENTIRE responsibility of handling the truth by himself because he thinks it's HIS fault that it's happening all over again and this endless cycle of beating himself up and trying to amend things by himself and ruining himself in the process starts begins once more until. until juwon arrives with a guilt as big as his, a guilt that mirrors his own and that endless cycle slowly starts to shatter and both of them began to unknowingly try to find redemption through each other and its why that last scene is so fucking important too because dongsik getting handcuffed is like closing the door on the abuse that the guilt has done to him and twisting the key and throwing it away and he needed juwon to do that for him, because no one would understand the guilt better than juwon. there was never gonna be another person to arrest him because even though he's resolving his own guilt he's also taking juwons guilt upon himself and telling juwon look, here, cuff it away, youre good now, you dont have to suffer anymore. even though his future seems so bleak with the arrest he still tries so hard to do what he failed to do with yuyeon. protect her. at least this time he could protect juwon before the man could live with the guilt forever. at least this time when he meets juwon again he knows he succeeded.
