#so here’s the thing #i didn’t include yorick because i had a lot of hamlet in there to begin with #and i didn’t include anything from merchant because i didnt want people who hadnt read it to end up down highly political google rabbitholes #because like i dont like stagings that lean into the idea that being converted is a good thing for shylock #that is also why the only othello character on the test is iago #which you can pretty much only get if you put down unrealistically evil answers #because it felt too weird to assign someone othello from a test #and because it was easy to fill up the angst section anyway #this whole explanation will sound crazy if you meant caesar portia and not merchant portia
