Dylan, child of Aphrodite──for some reason I've always associated art with Aphrodite, maybe because it's the painting if her that always first comes to mind when thinking about depictions of the Gods... But that association is perfect for Dylan! Also, Dyl's whole storyline starts because of a ‘crush’ on them! It's all in the name of beauty and love!

Shay, son of Hephaestus──heavily thought about just making him a sin of Hermes, in accordance to my placement of Shay as a God however! When I think about Shay's arc, hobbies and characteristics I think he's rather a fitting son of Hephaestus! 1) He's a bit of a tinkerer and he really enjoys taking apart and reassembling his PCs (which isn't exactly blacksmithing but it's along the lines of it, right?) and 2) his warmth is so vivid in a way that just matches to be the son of the God of Fire!

Kinsley, daughter of Apollo──Kinsley's theme of the Sun might've led you to your conclusions, as they did with mine! While she doesn't radiate warmth like you'd expect, she is still a firecracker──a blue flame of warning! Kin is so classic!Apollo coded it's unreal, the... obsession with those they love, the cruelty to those they deem as unworthy or have done them wrong???? Apollo is the God of Truth and Sound and you'd best believe that while Kinsley does tell a lie, she will find out all the truths and hear all the secrets!

J, child of Zeus──J gives me forbidden child vibes like always! They've kinda got the temperament of a child of Zeus, and a rebellious streak to rival Thalia's! I think the explosive and electric nature of lightning is fitting for them, and the way J is treated as untouchable at school feels very ‘be wary of the [thunder] storm’! Also a commanding nature is very fitting for J!

Theo, child of Athena──I seriously considered Demeter, and I totally get why you thought that way for Theo!! So here's my thinking as to why they're a child of Athena instead... Theo gives me major Annabeth Chase vibes! I'm talking about their intelligence, their interest in architecture and their diligence when it comes to plans of action! While Theo might be a little timid and anxious in the face of conflict, after they go through their arc and come into their own, they're definitely going to be a force to reckon with!

so i think when you find out it's twins the morning is already chaos, you're running around trying to get ready for the appointment and matty has got the girls dressed and is now playing with them in the living room where gigi is directing a play which stars her dad and her little sisters. gigi is about nine and shay is five and valentine is maybe oneish. matty has hastily got ready in some trackies and a hoodie and is now wearing a feather boa and a sparkly unicorn clip pushing back his curls because having them in front of his face wasn't part of gigi's "creative vision"

you're already late, so you're shoving your shoes on and telling the girls and matty it is time to go so he scoops valentine up off the floor and puts her in the baby carrier on his back, while you help the older two put their shoes on, where shay has a meltdown because they cant find the exact white vans she wants to wear and gigi is swinging on the door rolling her eyes and the baby starts crying so matty has to bounce her up and down on his back.

"we shouldve got a babysitter," you say to matty as you shove the wrong shoes on shay while she cries and then pick her up so she can sob about it into your shoulder.

matty laughs and then laughs harder when valentine giggles along with him.

"i swear they're not usually this bad. i sweat they're doing it on purpose to spite us right now"

and gigi says "what?" and matty says, "nothing, get out the door, let's go."

the doctor lets you all into the room, and matty tells the older two to calm down while you get settled on the bed to get your ultra sound.

"my mum is having a baby," shay tells the doctor, quietly.

"she knows that, shay, she's a doctor," gigi says, and matty flicks her arm as a warning to be nice to her sister.

"you guys have your hands full," the doctor smiles, and you quickly say "this one was a surprise," nodding down to where the doctor is slathering on the gel.

"they all were," matty mutters, "three little gorgeous accidents."

"this one?" the doctor says, looking at the screen and then looking up at you.

"oh god, what is it, what's wrong?"

"oh nothing, completely healthy, it's just..." she looks between you and matty and the girls and says, "it's not one at all. it's two."

"what do you mean?" matty says, the colour draining from his face.

"it's twins," she tells you. you and matty are silent, looking at each other, shay is staring between you both and gigi is asking what what what over and over until you both break, start absolutely sobbing with laughter, not looking away from each other.

"our parents have gone loco," gigi tells shay, who nods solemnly.

"twins," matty says, trying to get himself together, standing up from where he was seated in the plastic hospital chair, valentine sleeping on his back, "let's see the little buggers then." and the nurse turns the screen to him and despite all the chaos his grin cracks wide open and he says "hello my little ones," and then he joins you, stroking your head while you stare at the screen in shock wondering how you're going to do it all, grabbing hold of matty's shirt and saying "matty twins. twins", and he is saying "you know i always thought we needed more. just not enough of them in the world yet for me. so this is working out absolutely grand"

he puts his hands to his head, runs them through his hair and they snag on something. it's the sparkly unicorn clip gigi put in this morning, and he takes it out and shows it to you and then you both laugh again until you can't breathe.

Some MCU DR Tea Pt. 1

Hey y'all!!!!

Ok y'all so I watched Shay's (shifttoker) live last night and she was talking about the shufflemancy she got for her tasm (the amazing spider man) DR and it seemed really fun so I decided to give it a go! and the tea I got??????? (For context, I don't really have a lot scripted for this DR and it doesn't really follow the MCU's plot especially after Age of Ultron. Also, I didn't have a ton of questions so it's not very many songs)

So the first thing I asked: Give me a song that describes me and Dean first meeting in this D.R.

(This I do have semi-scripted, I know we meet when Pietro, Wanda, Abbi, and I are still anti- avengers and we're getting the vibranium from Klaue. The vibe I had was that it was gonna be flirty but we're literally gonna be fighting each other so a semi- serious meeting)

I'm not gonna lie to you at first I was HELLA confused. I thought this song is waaayyy too light hearted but then I looked at the lyrics and she's right

"And I'm trying to keep it cool"- Describes how I'm gonna feel at first. Not only am I gonna be nervous cuz this is the first fight I'm gonna experience but also seeing Dean for the first time I know I'm gonna be NERVOUS. He's just too gorgeous.

"And I found a piece of me that I never knew" -This part comes on right before Charlie's part so to me this part represents the exact moment after I first see him. I instantly knew that I was never gonna be the same (I always knew that fucker was gonna ruin my life in every reality makes sense cuz he's ruined it here lol ((affectionate)))

"You got my heart and I'm head over heels in love" -Charlie sings this part so I took that as it's from Dean's perspective, self explanatory.

"Oh, now what you do? Your brown eyes tell the truth" - In Charlie's part of the song. This to me meant that Dean could tell I wasn't really team Ultron (Which is true I never trusted the fucker, I was just going along with my siblings. And he did free me from Hydra so I guess I gotta go along.) His "See I happen to be able to read people" moment lmao. Extra confirmation cuz my eyes are brown (now that's delusion skskksks)

"Yeah, you got to me, and I came out someone new" -Also sung by Charlie so also from Dean's perspective. After we met he'll never be the same either.

"I'm trying to keep it cool" "And I, I found a piece of me that I never knew' -Still sung by Charlie so still Dean's perspective. Basically he's feeling everything about me that I'm feeling about him.

Bitch, it's love at first sight FOR REAL. (I didn't even script that arc but slaayyyy)

"I'm meltin' like ice cream The stress is gone for me Nowhere I'd rather be"- Sung by Lennon, so my perspective. Even though we're literally in a fight rn he makes it better and my ass is falling for him (I did script a flirty one on one fight with him) so after the one on one I'm no longer nervous, and all that's left is him.

"And I, I'm trying to keep it cool" "And I found a piece of me that I never knew" -Towards the end of this song, sung by both, so both our perspectives. Because it's at the end I felt like this was after we part ways. We're both trying to seem like it was no big deal, and that we're unaffected. But we both know that's bullshit.

In conclusion, this song has a you take away all the bad/ you're like paradise kinda vibe to it so even though we're initially on different teams we're still gonna fall for each other in spite of everything. (Romeo and Juliet who? LMAOOOO) Bonus confirmation this song was on the Scoob soundtrack and Dean loves himself some Scooby-Doo

Rewatching the last few episodes of Yugioh arc v (dub) atm

And oh no god. The episodes where it’s after Zarc’s defeat and all that are just??? In short terms, I’m just not enjoying them too much-

Like Shay?? Are you really blaming Yuya rn? Ik he’s like grieving the loss of his sister and best friend and all that but why are you blaming Yuya when

1. She didn’t want to form Zarc

2. I’m pretty sure it’s wasn’t her who KIDNAPPED YOUR SISTER AND USED HER TO TRY AND REINCARNATE RAY. But yknow of course it’s his fault!!!

3. JUST TURN AROUND AND BLAME THE PROFESSOR???

Like why the hell is he just being so mercifully and stuff to the literal person whose fault it just because he’s pulling the whole “I wanted my daughter back” thing as if he didn’t take 4 people away to get her back. Four girls that had LIFES. They had people who cared about them just like he cared for Ray but he didn’t think of that did he????

And Shay is just focusing his anger on someone - Yuya - who he should not be focusing his anger on. If Yuya WANTED to become Zarc, then that’s different. BUT SHE DIDNT THOUGH???

Look I love Shay and everything but this is ridiculous.

The professor literally was the reason WHY Zarc could be formed as well???

He’s the one who started merging the dimensions to try and get the original dimension and he also sent Yuri to go to different dimensions (where he could run into the other Zarc counterparts (AND HE DID)) and he started the inter-dimensional war and stuff which caused them to hop dimensions and shit.

(Oh god dimension doesn’t seem like a word anymoreeee)

I think younger me was just blind to this bullshit because I just wanted to enjoy it and it was one of if not my favourite series back then and yeah I still enjoy it but not as much as I did before (especially these last few episodes I’ve rewatched so far oh god- the best one so far was the Dennis vs Yuya duel but the battle royal duel wasn’t the best in my opinion idk </3 and I haven’t finished the Yuya vs Shay duel yet cause I just came here to complain :3)

ive been drawing forever honestly. i've always been really into it. im fifteen so thatd be like 12 years. and obviously i wasnt always studying it super seriously or anything. idk. my art isnt perfect by any means. i just dont really post the shitty pieces lmao. i struggle with sm stuff and will be continuing to study probably till the day i cant hold a pencil anymore lol. (i draw too much, my hand hurts ;w;) its a never ending process and honestly thats why i love it sm.

as for anatomy i think the main thing to keep in mind is that anatomy and just drawing people in general is really hard. i heard this in this old video about how pixar used to do 3d animation is that the reason they didnt do animations of humans for so long is because we ourselves have very specefic ideas of what a human looks like. i think this also applies to art. which is a really long way of saying, trust the process.

i use photos personally! you can find a lot on pinterest but there are a couple things id keep in mind when it comes to photos people edit their bodies sometimes so their proportions so be careful, it will defeat the purpose of the study if the bodies inaccurate.

idk here are some that might be good for starting off. dancers and people like that are super helpful. remember to not to focus too much on the lines but more copying down the shapes,

for hands i would just look at your own hands and try to capture them quickly. i say quickly mainly bc i shake a lot lmao, maybe youre different. or you could just be smart and take a picture of your hand but im very lazy and dont like getting up to grab my phone.

for art style id just save stuff that inspire you. could be animations, comics, album covers, cool photos, just stuff that gives you like vibes. literally ANYTHING.

like, omg this is making me think of a cool idea rn!! save it! even if you cant execute it now you can always execute it in the future when your skills are more developed :)

style studies are also helpful! try copying art you like, seeing different peoples techniques however some things to keep in mind with this are

you might accidently copy down an artists mistakes or bad habits without realizing it so try to have some variety in your artists

dont post the art. some people are okay with tracing but the vast majority of artists dont like it and it makes them uncomfortable. so id just like keep it in your sketchbook or whatever :) better safe than sorry.

anyway ah this is so longgggg! sry im so bad at being concise lol. theres probably a lot of youtube videos that could help you with this stuff if you want more explanation. the channel ive been watching a lot in since this summer is sketches of shay. she makes a variety of stuff but her art studies and resources are also very helpful :)

Hey Tobi!

I know life is getting in the way rn so don't worry if it takes a little while to get around to this. I am in no rush and I completely understand. Life is very much getting in the way of my tumblr time too.

That being said, I'm having thoughts and one (1) maybe-idea right now and I think you'll be able to provide some insight.

So I'm thinking of ~maybe~ doing like a kotlc group project where we all (by we i mean anyone who wants to participate) pick a historical person to research and put it into the form of an xavier riddle episode because i was watching that like two days ago and i thought it might be fun. I might also add an art thing but idk. Nothing's set in stone yet. I just wanted to come ask for your advice because you have experience in this kinda thing. Or at least close to this kinda thing.

For your ship weeks, did you find it easier to have a separate blog or just post it to your main? And have you found how long a reasonable amount of time would be for releasing things like prompts/directions? (Will you maybe make me a playlist if this ends up happening? /j unless you want to) Do you have any other pro tips I don't know enough to ask for? Preposition. Aergh. That seems like a good way to end this.

Hey Squish!! Thankfully I have off everything today, so I actually get four hours of rest! Thank goodness!!

Your idea sounds super cool also. I'm personally a history nerd, so that honestly sounds so awesome! Though I will admit, I don't know too much about the format of a Xavier Riddle episode, however after looking it up, it sounds like something I might enjoy. I'll add that to my to-do list of things to listen to in the background of drawing.

And I can't believe you're coming to me for advice!! Like yes I've done a little bit of stuff but wow!!! Anyway, I am definitely shocked, but please note that: I have no idea what on earth I'm doing. I know what works best for me and I usually just listen to my collaborators if I have them. So yes!!! Take all of this with a grain of salt.

Is it easier to have a separate blog or just post it to your main?

This honestly depends on the person and the project, and you kind of have to ask yourself a couple questions. How big is the project? How would I feel more organized? And how many people do I want to have participate who need to see it?

For example, when I hosted Sophiana Week with Wren, ae wanted a separate account to keep everything more neat and make it easier to arrange between the two of us. However, Shai and I just did it on our split main accounts.

Also, I have a separate account for my Ten Years of Keeper project, simply because I'm working with 11 people on events and such. So, it quite honestly just depends on how you feel.

Have you found a reasonable amount of time for releasing things like prompts/directions?

Please please please don't pull a me and give everyone ten days. Like again it really depends how big you want the project to be but minimum is probably 2-3 weeks. I have ship weeks, and I've found that for me around a month is good, but if you have something more complicated like research I'd shoot above that.

Seriously, I'd give a good couple weeks if it's one that is complicated and needs a lot of instructions. I'm using Ten Years of Keeper as an example cause ah. That's a big boy. If you'll notice, I gave everyone a pretty lengthy heads up, and I would rather have given you guys more time.

Do you have any other pro tips I don't know enough to ask for?

If you're making a big project please know it is draining. You have to coordinate with people, make sure that your instructions are clear, and overall know how progress is going.

This one sounds really silly, but dude if you have access...make a spreadsheet. Like excel and whatever the google alternative is is there and believe me when I say that it's literally your best friend.

I'm using mine to track the progress of my coordinators. How far along in the process they're in, what they're doing, etc. It's kept me organized so far, and I've only had like one mental break down so far, so that's good!!

But yeah mainly take care of yourself bestie. Managing and organizing a project is hard work. (not ship weeks, ship weeks aren't that hard. But for things bigger than that like what you're planning, please don't overwork yourself. Shay I’m so all over the place rn. I kinda feel like I want to break up with my boyfriend but I do love him. We’ve been together over 2 years and I helped him out a lot with money for a situation he was going through. He promised to pay me back wether we’re still together or not but idk. It’s thousands of dollars. I was stupid and in love pls don’t judge me for being dumb for a boy. the last few months i just haven’t felt satisfied. The sex is great, but when we’re together hes not the way I want him to be. He used to be more affectionate (never that much he isn’t that lovey dovey to begin with) but now I have to ask him. I literally had to ask him to hold me while I was cooking I want him to wrap his arms around me when I’m cooking for him, slap my ass when he walks by, be the one to initiate the kisses. But he doesn’t. We’ve had a talk about effort on his part twice and last night I told him i need more and I deserve more and he said he’d try to idk. I really am in love with his soul and him but I feel like I’m missing so much in this relationship. I don’t even get regular good morning and goodnight texts anymore and I used to everyday. I’m not even crying I’m just fed up and numb I want to have someone appreciate me the way I appreciate them

This is kind of a hard situation because only you can decide what you want to put up with, you know? Maybe he has something going on that has caused him to be less affectionate? Or maybe the money thing is bothering him because a lot of men get weird about borrowing money, especially from their significant other
