PUTTING THE NEW PAGE INTO THIS ASK AS WELL FOR GHE FIRST TIME BECAUSE THERE IS A LOT TO TALK ABOUT WITH THIS PAGE SO PLEASE BEAR WITH ME HERE
Tumblr media
Ima start with the first panel because there’s already so much in that one single panel and it is gonna drive me nuts!
So first up, we have “Secret” Chaotix meeting room. Yes, this place is apparently being kept a secret from the public eye. This could be due to the Chaotix having to handle a bunch of super deep and disturbing cases that, if allowed to spill out into the public, would be catastrophic! Not in the sense that it would destroy the world or anything like that, but it’d certainly ruin their reputation as detectives! Don’t detectives irl have these kinds of cases too…? Or maybe I’m thinking too hard on this and it’s just the place they meet with their friends whenever Eggman does something stupid? Who knows.
I do know though that it looks beautiful and it looks like they’re actually in a room which, as an amateur artist myself, can only dream of achieving!! It looks so cool! I just… I adore your backgrounds and I can tell you put a lot of love and effort into making them, so please give yourself a pat on the back!
And maybe I’m reading too much into a single panel.
But that’s not all that we get to see!!! (No I’m not talking about the Chaotix even though I REALLY wanna talk about the Chaotix cuz they deserve more love and I’m so glad they’re here THANK YOUUUUUUUU) YEAH THAT’S RIGHT, SONIC IS FULLY CONVERTED TO DARK GAIA SONIC LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Well not fully converted, but we can clearly see that it’s taking a huge toll on his body! Not only are the markings now visible on him during the day, but it also seems to be siphoning his energy…? Kind of…? I mean, Sonic has been out cold since “Killing” Omega, and usually he wouldn’t be so out of it otherwise. And I can see a little tiny X over his Gaia eye, so… I’m not too sure, but what I am sure of is that this is BAD for Sonic. The poor guy is gonna have to deal with not only being corrupted during the day, but also at night, and that cannot be good for his psyche. It was bad enough when he had to be in a completely new body for just the nighttime, but now it’s for both day and night in its own way, and… Gosh, this is gonna be torture for Sonic once he wakes up.
Okay now onto the actually lore panels because there is so much to uncover but BEFORE WE GET INTO THE LORE PARTS OF ALL THAT LEMME JUST POINT OUT HOW PISSED SHADOW LOOKS IN THE SECOND PANEL BRO LOOKS LIKE HE WANTS TO PUNT CHIP INTO THE SUN FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER AND HE IS JUST SO OVERPROTECTIVE OF SONIC IT’S NOT EVEN FUNNY I LOVE THIS ANGSTY EDGY BOY SO MUCH BUT I WANNA KNOW WHAT IS GOING THROUGH HIS HEAD RIGHT NOW WHY IS HE GLARING DAGGERS AT CHIP WHAT DID THIS LITTLE CREECHUR EVEN DO TO YOU SHADZ
Okay back to the lore-
So, im still gonna call Light Gaia as Chip because I still see a cute adorable fluffy fairy in those big brown eyes and I think he deserves a real name. Anyhow, Chip now is aware of him being a literal god. He says he regulates the day and Dark Gaia regulates the night. This kind of makes sense. Chip handles the sun and DG handles the moon. Think Luna and Celestia from MLP. And similar to those two as well, Dark Gaia got out of control like Luna did and created an eternal night. But this doesn’t really explain the planet splitting into a million giant pieces. (Not literally a million) Nor does it explain Chip losing his memory. Chip claims that whenever one of them falls out of line, the other will be there to pull them back together. Does this mean Chip or Dark Gaia have lost their memory before? Have the events of Unleashed happened before? How do they reign the other in?
These questions are probably gonna get answered in the next page lmao what am I doing-
Everything else is kinda sorta spelled out to us which I think is a good thing, since Chip is, in the story, explaining all of this to a group of people who had no idea about any of this for their entire lives. The poor Chaotix just got roped into this, they just want their pay. So with that in mind I don’t know what else to really cover…? Maybe I’ll notice something later on and just start spamming you with questions, who knows. For now I’m SUPER DUPER EXCITED FOR THE NEXT PAGE LET’S GO THIS IS GONNA BE SO FUN CANNOT WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK
hell yeah do look out for the new page on monday :3 i love ur little big analysis its always the highlight of my week to see one
btw this goes out to evecryone but the whole scene has a lot of moments for everyone else than sonic and shadow so we are winning

Could you please share some ideas or bits from Augustine’s story, both mid and post?
Yes, I would love to!
Reminder since it’s been a while. Augustine Carver is the Second ML Yandere. The reader has two entrances into the story cause I thought it’d be interesting that way. Mid story is that the reader merges with the villainess in the middle of the story, so they’re all grown going through their arcs and the heroine is doing her thing. Post story is where the reader merges after everything goes down in the original story and is left to fight against everything that had already occurred.
Ages during the story and after story:
Saintess 19 > 22
Crown Prince 20 > 23
Augustine 21 > 24
Villainess 20 > 23
Mid Story:
The first time the Prince snubs the Villainess Augustine is wide-eyed. He doesn’t say anything, but he gathers his bearings soon enough. In the back of his mind he doesn’t know why that happened, but has some faith in his friend that he may have had a reason for it. Maybe. So he swoops in and escorts the Villainess in his stead, and as a close friend. Neither of them say anything about it, but note how bizarre it was with a shared glance. Again, since the Villainess, and you as the reader, don’t really have any real romantic affections for the Crown Prince it just feels more like getting snubbed by a longtime friend rather than a lover, which is still rude.
The reason why August fell for the Saintess in the original story was because he saw the Villainess as an untouchable figure since she was to be the queen. Ironic since he fell for the Saintess that the Crown Prince eventually lays claim to anyway. It’s not like she was the only other woman that was around him. He had plenty of women that wanted his hand in marriage, but he could easily ward them off by pointing at his responsibilities as the Prince’s right hand and escape from the more notably desperate ones. But all this is to say that his affections for the Villainess has always been dormant through sheer will and etiquette. When those barriers are no longer there, or at the very least not relevant to you, then he finds himself stumbling. You’re still engaged to the Crown Prince, but when it doesn’t seem to mean much to you anymore he finds it harder to care too. He naturally gravitates to your side, always there when you need him. And when he’s not he does his best to cover his bases, like sending some of his men, or making a comment to a maid that you seem down and need some sweets on his way to work.
If the Prince has any issue with this he gets slapped with the hypocrisy card. HARD. And if he tries to whip out the “I’m doing my duty to accompany the Saintess” card he gets hit with the “I’m literally chilling with my childhood friend because her fiance is too busy dancing with other women” card. The Prince’s reasons for gravitating towards the Saintess were immature in the first place. All because he wanted that worship and praise from his partner, which isn’t necessarily wrong, but he did not consider his position and status whatsoever.
The Saintess does actively try to seduce Augustine. She sees his struggles and swoops in to hit him with the sympathy and big ole eyes. She does a great job of making men feel like they’re useful and reliable, which is how she managed to get this far in the first place. Since things are going so well with the Crown Prince she never puts too much into August, but definitely sees him as a back up plan. Honestly if this were from another perspective she could easily be painted as a manipulative girlboss if her plans weren’t so stupid. Since this is Mid Story that means Villainess is much closer to Augustine though, acting as the pillar he already needs with actual support and not just false platitudes.
Post Story:
The first time you meet Augustine after he comes back from the war, you almost don’t recognize him. Not because he looks drastically different, although he’s definitely put on a lot more bulk, but because the air around him is. He recognized the Villainess right away, since aside from being a bit older, she also hasn’t changed much physically.
After being away for years, he’s already come to the realization that he was in the wrong. That the Crown Prince and the Saintess were in the wrong. That brushing the Villainess aside just because she lashed out from frustration was a mistake. So while he is shocked to see you there, he is also filled with immense guilt at the sight of you. And when you cup his face, brushing your smooth hands against his scars, he holds his breath. Then you say the words he’d been waiting to hear from his supposed friends back in the capital, and his face scrunches up in an effort to contain his overflowing emotions. Like I said in the intro post, the guilt, regret, and familiarity you offer is tearing him apart.
Were he the man he was before the war, he would’ve shattered into pieces, collapsing into your arms. But he wasn’t. And he didn’t have the right. Not after the way he stood aside and let them cast you away.
Although you very much aren’t engaged to the Crown Prince anymore he still maintains an emotional distance with you at the start. Because it’s familiar. Comfortable. He also doesn’t feel it’s right to reach out to you anymore, but can’t bring himself to reject your casual and soft touches, however often they come. In the nights, not occupied by hatred, guilt, and revenge, his mind always finds its way back to you. Catches himself flexing his hands as they remember what it was like to help you off a carriage, or the way you easily pull him to the side and lead him where he needs to be. Hides his face against the back of his hand with a groan as he tries to clear those thoughts away, only for them to come back with a vengeance.
So many thoughts of what ifs. What if he had supported you back then? What if he reached his hand out to you? What if he didn’t let the rules govern him and actually did what he wanted? Then they wander to ‘why’. Why did you forgive him so easily? Why was he so easy to read for you? Why did his entire body light up when you entered the room? Why did his heart warm and his brow soften when you spared him a glance and the occasional smile? Why could he not find it in himself to deny this? When he had no fucking right to your happiness?
He spends many nights plagued by thoughts of you, but he always manages to gather himself for the next day, supposedly content to remain by your side however you want him. Then one day he sees the way some dude behaves too familiarly with you and he feels a hand crushing his chest. He stands, proper as ever, but his eyes track every overly intimate gesture this man makes to you, and wilts ever so slightly when he sees you return it.
Augustine watches this man like a hawk, waiting for a moment of weakness to find some reason to get rid of him. It’s not something he consciously decides. It’s something that he does so naturally that he doesn’t realize he’s doing it. Whether it be a reason to send him away to a far region for work, or a reason to toss his glove down for a duel. He just wants the man gone.

some Fearless 7 hc's since i'm sailing this boat by myself
merlin
youngest of the group and arthur doesn't let him forget it, i speculate somewhere between 18, like snow, and 20.
shortest of the group, too, with jack only being an inch or two taller
is honestly the biggest baby and hates scary stories. will put on a brave face, though, especially in front of snow.
100% made up his own theme song at some point. you can't tell me a guy who says "you just got merlin'd" didn't also make up his own dumb theme song.
ambidextrous
hates stagnation. hates to be bored. always needs to be doing something.
arthur
the oldest of the group, 21 at the very least and maybe 24 or 25 at most.
also the tallest and strongest, but i honestly think that's just canon.
puts on that tough guy, macho act, but tbh is really just the biggest softie. a giant teddy bear. gives the best hugs. probably cries during cheesy soap operas and rom coms.
also kind of a baby when it comes to scary stuff. lowkey competes with merlin by mocking him to see who's the most scared.
jack
second youngest, second shortest, but honestly the most mature out of the group. lowkey the mom friend.
scariest temper. is honestly pretty relaxed and doesn't get angry often (irritated and annoyed with the antics of the others a lot though), but when it does happen it will put the fear of god into anyone there to witness it. the triplets are the only ones to have yet to be subjects of his wrath.
has 100% used the invisibility cloak to mess with roommates, typically when they've been annoying and he's feeling exceptionally petty.
has dirt on everybody. no one can prove he's eavesdropping but it is strongly suspected. how else can he hold merlin's theme song over his head?
reads trashy romance novels.
hans
second oldest, second tallest, and the second most mature despite his bumbling and naivety. highkey the mom friend.
the house would literally fall apart if he wasn't around. jack might be a tad bit more mature, but it's jack's indifference that sets them apart. hans is the "should we stop them, we should stop them" to jack's "not yet i want to see how this plays out".
second scariest temper, though. no one has actually yet to see it, but the vibe is there and nobody wants to find out for sure.
is the sole reason why the triplets ever eat because they'll forget if he doesn't practically drag them out of their workshop.
pino, noki, and kio
younger than arthur and hans, but older than merlin and jack. definitely no younger than 20.
no preservation skills whatsoever. very "will leap before looking if there's a lure of scientific excitement". curiosity killed the cat and it'll probably kill them one of these days--if hans and/or jack weren't around to stop them.
different heights if you look closely, but all three are taller than merlin and jack. only one of them is about the same height as hans.
are fairly content in their dwarf bodies! the height change is an inconvenience at most, though they rarely notice since they're hardly ever apart.
at least one of them has found and read jack's trashy romance novels and he isn't sure which one. they won't tell him and lowkey enjoy watching him squirm.
also hate stagnation, being bored. they're always doing something. at least one of them jiggles their legs when they're sitting down.

I hope in the nearing future all Levi x Oc/ Levi x reader shippers see how mentally delusional you all are. I know for a fact your weirdo behavior will be frown upon soon. Also keep in your lane and shut your mouth up about Satosugu and other gay ships. We all knew your group of weirdos will start coming after every gay ship that makes y'all itch.
And that bullshit you all spew about not being homophobic because you have gay relatives is funny as hell. My Dad has a gay son and he's still homophobic so you all did nothing with that bullcrap
Even if you claim Levi isn't gay, it doesn't stop your friends from writing Levi x original male characters. But you guys don't because your homophobic asses can't handle the thought of him being bisexual even though isayama himself said he likes to see Levi with men by calling himself a Levi yaoi enjoyer. If he had said he likes seeing Levi with red haired women you all would have eaten that up. I think it was just fair that that anon called you all retarded. I was giggling so hard. Saying this as a Satosugu shipper btw. Again, tell your friends to not add us into your dumbass discord.
Oh. It's you. You're back, huh? Haven't had enough of getting your ass handed to you? Well, some people just don't know when to quit.
You "giggled" when "that anon" called us "retards"? Tell me you're a 12 year old boy without telling me you're a 12 year old boy.
You're accusing me of being a self-shipper, but everyone who follows me and pays even the most moderate amount of attention knows I don't ship Levi with anyone, including self-shipping. I make it a point again and again to reiterate that about myself. But then, that's all people like you have, isn't it? There's nothing to actually back up your deluded insistence that Levi is gay or in love with Erwin, but you're so deliriously obsessed with the notion, that any time anyone actually points it out, the only thing you can resort to is accusations of bigotry and the pitiful attempt to frame every other ship as "delusional" and "perverse", as if that somehow serves as proof of Levi's romantic interest in Erwin, or anyone else. The only thing it serves as proof of is your pathological inability to accept reality.
I don't claim anything about Levi's sexuality, one way or the other, because there's nothing in canon, or in Isayama's interviews, which addresses Levi's sexuality, period. Everything you say, everything you claim, every psychologically warped belief you hold about Levi, is based on nothing but conjecture, assumption, speculation and theory rooted in conspiracy. You literally have no foundation for anything you claim.
We don't know if Levi is gay, or straight, or asexual, or bisexual. And we don't know because it's irrelevant to his character. You and your ilk are the only ones who can't seem to accept that irrefutable fact, and you and your ilk are the only ones who are dumb enough, and pathetic enough, to reduce a character who's romantic life and sexual orientation have no bearing whatsoever on his actual story and person, and make it the only thing about him that you talk about or care about. You base your entire interaction and relationship to this piece of art on something that only exists in your head, and then you spend all your time online harassing people over it, bullying and insulting them, and accusing them of the very things you yourself are guilty of, all for the horrific crime of pointing out to you that your delusions, I'm so sorry to reiterate, aren't canon.
You aren't a Levi fan. You aren't even an Erwin fan. You aren't a fan of Gojo either, or of Geto. You're a fan of your own fantasies. Something which has zero relation or connection to Isayama's actual work, or to Gege's work either.
But keep trying. Keep making baseless accusations about people you know nothing about. It tracks for you, perfectly. After all, your entire fandom experience revolves around baseless, foundationless fantasy, so you might as well go all the way, and make your interactions with other people just as tightly wrapped in delusion and self-soothing lies.

i have literally been unpacking the fukuchi/fukuzawa situation since watching last night and while i feel sorry for fukuchi and i empathize with him and his motives, i still highkey do not LIKE him.
now that we've seen the culmination of his arc, i was right that his major M.O./character trait is to deny people choice, even IF denying people choice is to save them. using the book. using one order. fucking with literal time and space to negate the choices of OTHERS.
and then finally what he pulled with fukuzawa at the end there.
and like? that behavior is SUPER antithetical to BSD's anti-authoritarian core themes as a whole. think about dazai's speech to kyouka...that the only thing people truly have is the ability to make choices and to agonize over those choices.
even by LITERALLY DYING, he's denied fukuzawa the right to choose his role in this. even if fukuzawa can't kill him, he'll die anyway, and burden fukuzawa with a role he DOES NOT WANT, and a choice that he KNOWS will cause him immeasurable pain.
and seriously??? i don't think he would leave that choice to fukuzawa unless he knew there was a high chance fukuzawa would go through with his plan.
(hell, fukuchi's entire relationship with teruko--his closest confidant, the only OTHER person he seems to trust--is based in unwavering, unquestioning loyalty. to the point where she'll kill him JUST because he ordered her to, in spite of the fact that this is literally the last thing she wants to do.)
and like...i definitely don't think the ramifications of fukuchi's actions are over yet whatsoever. like, shit. obviously.
if anything, i think the theme of choice is going to come back around big time. fukuzawa has, uh, some big decisions to make lmao, and i'm hoping that more rational characters like dazai and mori have some bearing on those choices.
more than anything, i'm hoping that ranpo finally asserts himself with fukuzawa and pushes him toward an answer that doesn't involve self-sacrifice.
(this is going to get messy...i'll be surprised if it doesn't.)
i think the best outcome here is the story playing with the idea that humanity is collaborative. no one person should EVER have the power to control others. our actions effect each other, for better or worse. we all deserve to have a say in what happens.
that's literally baked into fukuzawa's character! he says it on screen RIGHT before this happens! so to see him struggling with this is...concerning and painful, even though i genuinely think (I HOPE???) he'll make a rational choice here. even if it's a struggle to make.
but...idk. yeah. i feel sorry for fukuchi, i really do, but i don't think he's a good guy in this story by a longshot.

Tumblr media
Given the internet is full of theories & ideas on the Ancient Hero, I really wanna put my two cents on the character and point out some things that get missed.
The ancient hero is Zonai
I highly doubt with the significance and presence of the Zonai in TOTK, the very shrines Rauru made would gift Link an aspect of a random ass creature from Zelda universe we’ve never seen before that happens to be a hero.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it would be just as weird for the aspect to be literally wearing a modified ZONITE ARMOR set which has the same defense level & is relevant only to Zonai given the set in question improves the usage of Zonai devices (which wouldn’t be used by anyone but Zonai wheras Link is afforded their abilities due to Rauru’s arm)
Not to mention the ancient hero also bears fabric that is explicitly the symbol of Zonai. It be really odd for this character to possess Zonai abilities, bear Zonai fabric & clothing that would be relevant only to a Zonai of that time frame, and it not be Zonai whatsoever or possess connections to them.
The Ancient Hero is a relative of the royal family
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Given the Zonai connections to the character, it’s highly probable this ancient hero breaks the usual mold regarding heroes and is a relative to the royal family, making him Hylian too. He bears similarities to both Sonia’s tattoos that would recognize her as royalty at least and the tattoos adorned by royal guards of ancient Hyrule BOTH. Sonia prior to Queenship was a PRIESTESS so she’s not an obvious warrior type.
If Ganondorf’s comments had merits in that there’s a limited amount of Zonai that dwell (in which he was unaware Rauru & Sonia already had a child at least since Zelda is outright confirmed to be related to them both long into the future) & he comes after their time , he would have to had royal connections due to having obvious dominant Zonai genes period.
Tumblr media
I say relative too because the Ancient Princess is also there. She could be a sister or a cousin or something more distant depending on how far down the first instance of Calamity happened compared to the Imprisioning War & how Zonai genes work in lieu with Hylian genes. She directly wields the sealing power, which is a power that RAURU (Sonia grants power over time, not dispelling evil), which confirms she is Rauru’s obvious descendant.
What makes the Ancient Hero interesting is that he breaks the mold for Link’s place outright given his more oddly appearance & the fact that the plan in that era to beat Ganon was to use a magic sword made to fight evil, use the Ancient Princess’s power to seal him away, and all the while weakening the creature by jumping his ass & helpers with four massive mechanical weapons AND a bunch of guardians.
So I don’t adhere the ancient hero to the mold of a loyal person descended from Knights like Link ordinarily is in most variations (Wind Waker!Link being one of those exceptions).
He’s not from the Depths
The Zonai statues in the Depths are from a time before even Rauru/Mineru given how until the Upheavel in current time, it has not been explored extensively. The Ancient Hero either comes after or concurrently to Rauru/Mineru’s lifetime.
He’s not Gerudo
I know the fandom is thirsty for a male Gerudo example that’s NOT Ganondorf to see how things are different but red hair and fancy jewelry isn’t Gerudo exclusive traits. I think the red hair might suggest a difference in the family.
Hylians in Zelda have been redhead before without being Gerudo too.
Zonai have diversity in characteristics
Given the two Zonai we see are siblings, it’s highly probable that their looks & the statues do not express how all Zonai are. I’ve seen people put “deep analysis” of the aspect with Rauru & Mineru and honestly, it’s not riveting given we’re dealing with a fictional race this story has not given deep enough details.
That’s just some of my thoughts on the Ancient Hero & his aspect. Feel free to agree, disagree, etc.

"So then I asked - And who says he prefers to spend time with others? Who says he prefers being absent?"
His actions say so ? Ofc in the manga noone will explicitly say that yet even Naruto fell for the bogus dna test shows they all don't feel the "love" between the real deal family ? Also kishimoto agreed with a interviewed that sakura is a hard woman , and the interviewer said that's why he stays away as that's sasuke's problem now ?
The fact that he laughed shows how serious he is about sasuke's absence . If you're asking someone explicitly saying this then I didn't claim anyone did say , or if I did , u win this one ?
His actions don't say so, at all. Sasuke's responsibility in the village is reconnaissance, that requires him to be outside of the village. So you mean to tell me that if you have a responsibility which requires you to leave, that means you would rather be away from your family? What kind of ridiculous logic is that?
Look at the panel below, you think that's the face of someone who wants to be away from his family?
Tumblr media
Let's take a closer look:
Tumblr media
Look at that face, and tell me again that Sasuke wants to be away from his family.
yet even Naruto fell for the bogus dna test shows they all don't feel the "love" between the real deal family?
I love how you're trying to use that as evidence to go against the authenticity of the love between the Uchiha family. Anon, the very fact that Naruto was so outraged from those DNA test results in itself shows how much he did believe that the love between them was real. If he thought their marriage was just a sham, he would not have been surprised at all at the apparent infidelity. Your own points don't even help your case.
Also kishimoto agreed with a interviewed that sakura is a hard woman , and the interviewer said that's why he stays away as that's sasuke's problem now ? The fact that he laughed shows how serious he is about sasuke's absence
What does this point even prove? Seriously? So Kishi was laughing and joking in a tongue in cheek interview, so what? In that very same interview, he also joked and agreed that the only reason Hinata was popular was because of her big boobs. You think he was being serious there? You think that has any bearing whatsoever on her character in the story? Do you want me to list all the times in interviews where Kishi highlighted the authenticity of Sasuke and Sakura's bond, just to explicitly prove to you how utterly redundant that point was? Goodness gracious.
Let's think about this for a moment, you would rather use Kishi laughing during an interview as apparent "evidence" to prove something (who knows what). But when Kishi explicitly states in the manga that the love between the Uchiha family is the real deal, that's when you decide that Kishi's words are just "pretty words" that have no meaning? Convenient that, isn't it? To just pick and choose when to listen to what the creator of the series actually says about the couple. Why didn't you believe that Kishi's laugh was just a pretty laugh with no meaning? Because that's literally what it was.
Here's the reality that you're just gonna have to accept - Kishi is the word of god when it comes to Naruto, what he says, goes. Therefore, if he says that the love between the Uchiha family is the real deal, then the love between the Uchiha family is the real deal.

PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT THE AFFAIR WITH THE TEDDY BEAR I AM INTRIGUED
OK SO
It's a Tintin and Hercule Poirot crossover because we need our two Belgians with a thing for mysteries and weird hair features and excellent grey cells to come together and collaborate on solving a mystery.
What's even better is that we have absolutely no information on Tintin's backstory, other than he is Belgian. Zero, zilch, nyet, nada. None whatsoever.
Soooooo what if he was the son of important diplomats and government agents? What if they tragically died in a murder and house fire?
What if he survived?
What if the detective the Belgian police sent to solve the mystery was none other than the great Hercule Poirot?
And what happened when their paths cross, twelve years later?
My favourite scene is when the bellboy (the one with very blue eyes, but one of them is slightly more green,) is being questioned at a police station for having an important piece of evidence in his pocket, and he is promising that he would never, ever be involved in a murder because he hates murderers, but Inspector Japp doesn't believe him, so Poirot pulls out the little teddy bear... and the boy's eyes go wide, says some things that are spoilerrrrrs and then they realise they're been looking st this murder mystery from the wrong end and BOOM everything starts to for into place and it's time Poirot look at that case from 12 years ago that went cold.
He solves it, obviously.
Other fabourite scene is when Poirot is doing his dramatic "reveal the murderer thing" and he has the Teddy Bear retell the story from 12 years ago when the original murders occurred. (The voice of the teddy bear is actually Hubert Valentine who's death was staged because Hubert isn't his actual name and also he's the main target but that's literally what this story is about so um not saying any more because spoilers.) Then the lights go out and suddenly there's a figure in the window. He steps forwards, the sheer curtains blowing around him as he enters the moonlight where two scars (one on his forehead and the other on his neck) are apparent on his pale skin and everyone screams because IT'S THE GHOST OF HUBERT VALENTINE and Poirot asks who killed him and he looks at the murderer and points and everyone is going feral and the murderer is restrained by the police while Poirot turns on the lights and explains everything and Hubert is setting himself laughing at everyone's reactions
I have had many thoughts
Also, not that this will mean too much because you're not in the Tintin fandom, but the Chinese boy with a French accent is Chang Chong-Cheng. Why does he have a French accent? Because the person who helped him with English was also teaching him French at the same time and is also Belgian. So, do what you will with that

I have a crack theory that has absolutely no bearing on the story whatsoever: Qi never got his doctorate/PhD.
[Put the rest under a read more in case you don’t want to read like 3 pages of straight up speculation over nothing holy shit]
(to preface, getting a PhD is basically what separates a student and a professional researcher in academia. You most likely can’t be a professor without one, and research jobs in non-academic labs aren't likely to take you either. Getting a PhD also earns you the title of "Dr.", same as an MD.)
Even though Qi is referred to as “Dr. Qi” by several people, when he’s actually called that in his earshot, he insists on being called “Director”.
Tumblr media
The way Qi speaks is very “technically correct” and literal, according to one of the writers.
Tumblr media
[taken from an Ask the Dev segment on the Pathea discord.]
So maybe he insists on being called “Director” because it’s technically the only title he actually holds. Your college professors have doctorates, but you can probably call them “Professor” or “Doctor” interchangeably and it’ll still be okay with them. So why doesn’t Qi also operate like that?
PhDs also typically take 5 years to complete (and that’s assuming nothing goes wrong…). You’ll probably be in your late 20s by the time you’re done. But…how old is Qi? He hasn’t been assigned a canon age yet, but we can make a few guesses.
Tumblr media
There’s a photo of his family in his room that is dated from year 80. MTaS starts at year 98 (or 97, I have to check). Considering that adult Qi is about 5’11”/180 cm, he’s definitely younger than a teenager in this pic when we see his relative height here. I say he looks around 8-10? That means that by the start of MTaS, he’s around 26-28. It should be around this time that he finishes his doctorate and has a successful dissertation defense. But he’s in Sandrock… There’s also this line from one of the main missions (no spoilers) that implies that Qi’s been in Sandrock for around 7 years. So he potentially left Vega 5 and came to Sandrock when he was in his early 20s.
Tumblr media
But when did he graduate, then? It’s a bit more possible that he got his Bachelor's degree super early. Maybe he skipped a few grades, maybe he sigma grindsetted his degree plan. With the more course-based and structured nature of Bachelor’s programs, it probably would’ve been easier to speedrun. A big research effort like a dissertation takes more time to properly do and can't really be sped up that much, since it's intended to be a culmination of all the knowledge you've gained on a particular subject.
But then what happened after that?? He started work on his PhD, but then…his dissertation work got stolen. In The Assistant, Qi says at some point while he was at uni, his work was stolen.
Tumblr media
He doesn’t specify what it was, but it was bad enough that he refused to work directly with anyone else since. Losing your dissertation is…bad, to say the least. It could’ve been stolen, you’ve might’ve lost it, or someone else just happened to do the same thing you were doing and publish it first. Whatever the case, if that happens, at worst, you need to start from square one. Years of work, straight into the garbage. It’s also a matter of money, too. Do you have enough to pull you through a couple extra years of tuition? Can you renew your assistantship? Considering his parents are humble fishermen, Qi probably couldn't secure the funds to keep going. So he threw up his hands and quit school, and tried to find research work on his own merit. Without a doctorate, though, he probably was only able to take low-rank or assistant jobs. Instead of being assessed on his talents as is, his lack of a title barred him from making any advancements. So he left. It would explain this line, where he talks about leaving Vega 5 due to “bureaucratic pedantry”:
Tumblr media
Qi’s the only researcher in Sandrock, and is therefore Director by default. He might be in Sandrock to find the Olympia, but is he also there because that’s the only place he has any authority? Is Sandrock the only place where people will take him seriously? Is he clinging to that? Is that why he insists on people calling him Director…?
…Well now I’m sad. I’ll end this on a higher note with an even crackier theory: Merlin from MTaP was the one who stole his work. There is absolutely NO evidence for this, I just think it’d be funny.
Merlin was “the most promising apprentice” at Vega 5, but was kicked out for performing an experiment so egregious that even Vega 5 wanted nothing to do with her. What if she had a rivalry going with Qi while they were in school, and it culminated in her stealing his research? Whatever the hell Qi was planning to do was so off the cuff that she took the fall for him when she actually did it. And Qi was planning on leaving Vega 5 anyway, so he’d be free to continue his mad scientist shit elsewhere. Alternatively, Merlin stole his work, he saw that she got kicked out, and he decided to skedaddle knowing that he’d probably be next if he kept going.
okay that's enough spitballing thank u for coming to my ted talk

why do you think it's not that deep they're in the finale for goodness sakes, they're literally pairing eddie up with a random women he meets in the very next episode. Why should Buddie fans have faith even if these relationships go nowhere which they won't it just seems like Buddie is not something Kristen ever intends on doing with the show no matter what is displayed on the screen
okay anon two things
first of all, thank you SO much for giving me an excuse to step away from exam revision. seriously, i'm on my 4th lecture of the day and feel like i'm about to start scuttling up my walls like a little cockroach.
second of all, where are you getting that? literally all we know is that marisol is in 6x17 and 6x18. we have no idea about the context whatsoever, that's one reason i say it's not that deep. the other reason is that eddie himself has quite literally made it clear that relationships with people they meet on calls aren't going to work! take a look at buck's history: abby who he first spoke to during yep, you guessed it! 911 call! ali, who he saved on a call! taylor, who, once again, he met on a call! and let's not forget natalia, who he's also quite literally just met on a call.
i have faith because we quite honestly don't know the writers/showrunners intentions at all. unless they explicitly tell us, we have absolutely no way of knowing!! but one thing to bear in mind is that all of these people? they're not stupid. the writers and directors and, yes, the showrunner all work together to create a cohesive and compelling story. nothing that they do, or say, or imply is by accident. they all work together to craft this beautiful narrative that we're lucky enough to watch unfold, and they do it so seamlessly. you can dislike some of the decisions they make, that's absolutely fine, but i would rather choose to place my faith into the hands of the people who have been crafting so delicately this complex, real narrative for us. everything they've said this season, all the subtext they've given us in both this and every other season since season two has led me to believe that buddie will be canon. but building a believable story around that takes time, and i'm in it for the long haul!!
you absolutely don't have to agree with me, that's completely fine, but if the show's getting you that wound up, it honestly might be time to stop watching. happy tuesday!! <33

“it sounds crazy but i think we’re in a fairytale,” “that world is just make-believe,” “we’re not in the stupid book we’re in its stupid sequel,” “but… she learned her lesson in the end, right?,” “but ascension wasn’t in the book” & “what else did alyx leave out?,” “that can’t be right,” “i just don’t get how the story is both real and not,” “she was selfish, like the world was just make-believe,” “the more i tried to get the story back on track, the more she distrusted me,” “i couldn’t even be the make-believe hero”—3/5 of the way through the volume and they are still HAMMERING on this, and while it initially was conveyed mostly as humorous exasperation, the tone began to change in 4 and in 5-6 the drumbeat has become dead serious.
like. it is profoundly centrally important to the arc narrative that rwby+j don’t know how to make sense of this situation—even though they’ve undergone notionally similar revelations about both the realness and not-realness of fairytales. one or two humorous beats upfront while they get their bearings is only to be expected (this place is weird!) but it’s been constant since the minute they figured out which story they fell into.
what this says to me is either:
1. the kids really did not learn anything in V4-6 except insofar as the amount of factual information they knew about the world increased; none of them engaged whatsoever in thinking critically about the potential realness of fairytales or about the unreliability of fairytales as a source of information. this is a lot more plausible than it sounds on its face, because a) they are traumatized teenagers who had the fate of the world dumped in their laps overnight, they had a lot of fires to put out and an abundance of other fish to fry, and b) the way the kids react particularly to jinn’s revelations very much focuses on ozpin lying to them personally—there is little if any engagement with the bigger picture of ozma having used fairytales and myths to construct a false reality. thus, the ever after confronts them very suddenly and very unavoidably with a lot of ideas they really should have considered prior but glossed over because they were worried about a million other things, and this provokes fear and discomfort and subconscious rejection of the untrustworthiness of fairytale on historical matters.
or,
2. the ever after tangibly is different from, say, the girl in the tower or the story of the seasons, and the girls have picked up on this even though they can’t quite articulate why; the enormous and increasingly heavy emphasis placed on this difficulty they’re having with the ever after is flagging this difference for the audience (because we would otherwise take the ever after in stride as another real-but-not-fully-true fairytale—we have none of the characters’ hang ups or myopia about this).
or,
3. both.
now of course the most recent addition to my stable of dead horses is that the ever after is a genuinely fictional world and that “both real and not” is an accurate description in the most literal sense—because that makes the most sense—but the first possibility is also very. ooooh. because if true it means the girls are a lot further behind on getting to ‘if we can’t beat her, reason with her’ with salem than i thought they were—like, if they haven’t even really grasped “sometimes stories are real but not true” yet…
…and the thing is. that kind of dovetails in a skewed way with ruby’s “real life isn’t like a fairytale; that’s why we’re i’m here” mentality in that she understands perfectly well that the world doesn’t work like a story but she feels compelled and obligated to make it do so; the real-but-not enigma is entangled with the way she thinks about herself and her purpose in life. the fairytale isn’t real but it’s her duty to reify the fairytale or die trying.
and it strikes me that this is probably what ruby’s personal resolution, in this arc, is going to revolve around: reconciling the distress she’s feeling about how ‘the girl who fell through the world’ can be real but not true is her emotional off-ramp from “fairytales aren’t real but you exist to make them true”—because these are two sides of one coin and incidentally also the first step in realizing the answer to the salem problem.
i’m sort of wondering now if the final ‘retelling’ of ‘the girl who fell through the world’ might actually be something along the lines of ruby getting to experience it through alyx’s eyes—a literal re-enactment of the story with herself literally rather than metaphorically in alyx’s shoes, or else a lost fable-esque situation where she’s following along and watching over alyx’s shoulder. (<- actually. maybe that’s who “lewis” is? the kind one, the clever one, the… silent one who has no bearing on the story because he is a passive observer following along in alyx’s footsteps. ‘lewis carroll’ is a pseudonym. a mask, as it were.)

ALRIGHT HERE’S MY HOT TAKE FOR TRON
Lowkey,,,, After seeing the leaked script…. I’m kinda???? Glad Uprising got canceled.
Based on what little we see, what was there was good, but I don’t think it would have lived up to the hype. Not to mention that while I’m not a fan of Legacy whatsoever, I think they made Clu a lot more complex in the movie, and it’s a damn shame that based on both the script we see, and the little screentime, Clu was whittled down to being a pretty one-dimensional villain—and THAT is why I think the second Season would have failed. It would have failed to capture what makes Clu so dangerous. He’s not JUST evil. He’s literally a copy of Flynn—he shares his traits, and that includes the good parts whether we as an audience like it or not. He came into power for that LITERAL reason (read the prequel comic it’s so interesting and it’s basically a mirror of Flynn and Clu’s perspectives of what went wrong).
One other thing Legacy did that admittedly also bummed me Uprising tossed aside was that Flynn was genuinely not a good creator. I mean it’s somewhat highlighted in scars, but not really?
I guess TLDR: It boiled Flynn down to being the Good one, and Clu to being the Bad one. Because of that, I’m not sure Uprising’s writing would have still been good if it continued with Clu coming into the picture.
As someone who has read the comic and still wants to beat up Clu 2 with a baseball bat, I can see your stance on this!
(Sorry this is REALLY LONG, bear with me because I like discussing things!)
I don’t know if it would’ve “lived up to the hype” and what that entails. Back then viewers of the show were few and far in-between, so I don’t really know how high the hype would’ve been (especially because anyone who knows legacy, knows uprising wasn’t likely gonna end in a happy ever after LMAO)
Nowadays, the expectations for stakes and what could’ve happened are larger considering how long it’s been, but who knows if it could’ve lived up to the hype back then. Maybe it could’ve. Maybe it wouldn’t have. Who knows. They never finished writing season 2, so the writers probably don’t even know lol.
Yeah, Clu 2’s not that complex in season 1 and in the movie script/unfinished storyboard. Personally, I don’t care much for Clu’s lack of complexity in the first season, mostly because he was not a focus at all. More a symbol.
Also, uprising shows brief glimpses of the view programs have of him, mostly Tron’s, so it makes sense we don’t see outside of that view. I do understand your point, though. I’d love for his ‘good’ characteristics to shine for a bit, to show how he got into power, but I believe that just wasn’t able to be shoved into season 1 (there was already so much they needed to establish in the early episodes, and after that they had so many villains to work with)
I don’t believe they didn’t plan on showing Clu 2’s ‘good’ side, but I’ll also be one to admit that I wouldn’t mind, because we’ve got legacy and betrayal if you like that perspective of him.
Same goes with Flynn: the show Isn’t about him, having time devoted to showing how he isn’t perfect isn’t Needed if there’s an entire movie that showcased that imo.
Uprising uses its characters when needed in the story; Scars wanted to use flashbacks to show Tron’s downfall from protector to prisoner, so that Had to have involved his past working with Flynn and Clu 2. Besides that, there’s little reason to show Flynn in this season, nor later seasons (because he just stayed in his cave for the most part?)
I don’t think he’s necessarily shown as a good creator in Scars, because he clearly cares more about the future than the life programs live on the grid, but it wasn’t shown in an obvious manner.
Maybe they were going to show Flynn more in other ways like him getting involved in the revolution, maybe not, but I wouldn’t want him to be reintroduced just to show how he wasn’t perfect. I believe he should be used in the story when applicable. STILL, I understand the argument!!
It’s a pretty interesting take overall, even if I don’t entirely agree with the arguments!! :)

"Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries"
08/01/2024
Reading progress: 166/315 (52%)
Read through since last update: 58
It's been a few days, but I'm still reading regularly, just in smaller chunks.
I love this book more and more with each passing page. It's got a relatively simple plot, but the execution, the style, the characters and the gorgeous atmosphere really make it stand out.
So... here's some notes:
They found the murderous and ominous tree under which the murderous faerie king is buried! So exciting! And Emily hops off to take some samples literally immediately, with no protections whatsoever! That little rascal, her! Surely this she will bear no consequences whatsoever.
I must say, I'm a little disappointed Wendell's identity is not treated as something really daunting as it should be. Yes, they live in a fantasy historical world and encounter fae on the daily. Yes, Emily doesn't really have extreme reactions like some other book characters. Yes, she had been suspicious that he was fae for a very long time. But I still think there's something missing in this whole revelation. It's played off as something... fa(e)irly normal (que: Laugh at my stupid pun here), which I find a little unrealistic. Fight me on this, I don't care.
Wendell's backstory is a little too tragic MC past™️, but I will overlook this fact because he started crying. 🥺😭
Ok, I loved the bit where he tricks Emily with the coat.
I'm not a big fan of a friends to lovers romance. They usually disappoint me with a very bland friendship that has no soul and is only set up in order to evolve into a romance. It's boring and lazy writing, and I tend to avoid it. But I really, really like the chemistry between Emily and Wendell. I like how their personalities clash, but are still similar enough to work-out. It's got a certain softness to it that really gets to me.
NOT THE LESBIANS!!!!! 😭😭
I'm a little disappointed (again) Emily decided to side with Wendell on trying to deceive the locals. Idk, feels out of character for her. Sure, she's obviously changing as a characters (in this house we stan character growth, no matter in which direction), but this seems... Off. She has just established a better relationship with everyone. She even confessed she cares about the people in the village, even though she didn't plan for it to happen. And now she's willing to risk it all for her work? I know it's a plot device. I know Fawcett used this to drive the story forward, but I don't know... It didn't feel right.
Can't a girl poop in peace? Damn.
HELLO????? HELLOOOOOOOOO???? THAT FIGHT SCENE????
"Are you Hurt?"
Screaming. Crying. Throwing up.
I'm going feral for them. I love them so much. They're such a good pair and I love their chemistry. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
And of course Emily is stupid enough not to notice his obvious affection. (But same, girl. I'm just as delusional as you. ❤️)
Also we get a little more info about Wendell. So he's a king, not a prince? Hm hm hm. I wonder if his past is connected with the story of the faerie king bellow the great tree. 🤔
I know I had some minor disagreements with some parts of the story, but they don't downgrade my reading experience. I'm having a lot of fun with this book!

Am I disappointed in the recent JJK chapter? Yes, definitely. For starters, Gojo’s reaction to Nanami’s death felt very underwhelming. Like I don’t expect Gojo to breakdown and cry because that would be out of character for him as he is a character that is build upon concealing his emotions through a facade. He buries them deep within him so he can still call himself the strongest, and bear the burden of what it means to wield that power so others don’t have to. But the fact that we didn’t get any emotion out of him, like not a single panel of him looking frustrated, clenching his fists or an inner monologue of his thoughts felt SO wrong.
Another thing I need to mention is the time skip. Like I had expected Gojo to unleash all his pent up anger and emotions right then and there when he faced Kenjaku but nope. Especially considering the fact that Kenjaku is in Geto’s body - his one and only true friend! Like I feel like maybe those two having a small fight and then bringing all that tension down with Gojo reuniting with his friends and students really could have given us more in sight into Gojo’s thoughts and really added more depth to his character, especially considering he has been out of the series for over 100 chapters. And like I just really would love to see how much all of the deaths and Gojo being in the prison realm effected his mental and emotional state, because SURELY it affected him, right? Please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks this?
And also like seriously... there is no mention of Nobara whatsoever... like excuse me, if she is 100% dead, Gojo should have been told about her death too! Like honestly her death is left so ambiguous it’s so fucking painful. Arata literally stated that she had a slim chance for survival and if the confirmation was literally Megumi being SILENT and Yuji saying “oh, I get it.” is one of the WORST death confirmations I have ever witnessed because it is SO ambiguous and is just based on the assumption of Yuji believing she is dead! And if Gojo literally hasn’t been told, or if he has but Gege didn’t decide to show his reaction is so bad. And also I want to know so badly if Gojo knows that the old fart killed principal Yaga because Gojo is literally seen walking next to him with Utahime. And speaking of Utahime... gege remembered she exists. But I honestly doubt she’ll remain relevant in this last arc considering how the female writing took a fucking nose dive. And Miwa... like her appearance a few chapters back in the culling games really shook me and it was just never brought up again... like excuse me!!! It’s just so baffling like I seriously think Gege just doesn’t give a shit about his series anymore and has like forgotten what has happened in his own series.
I just feel like Gege just wants to get to the end by any means necessary, he just doesn’t care if it coherent or paced well; he only wants to get to the finish line by the end of this year. It just makes me feel like he doesn’t even understand his own characters and what is happening in his own story at this point and it is so unbelievably disappointing. And like over the whole culling games arc it has just been action after action with no down time with the characters whatsoever that it just feels like a whole power play between characters, like they have to prove who is stronger and who is the better fighter, and they have all lost their depth to adher to the spectacle of the fights. Not all the characters but still, it’s just so unbelievably jarring seeing the direction JJK is taking. Like the theme of JJk is literally what it means to die a good death, and how no matter how powerful you are, cycles will always remain a constant and that they are rather extremely difficult or rather impossible to break.
JJK used to be one of my favourite series of all time. I loved it so much and its characters, and while I still love some aspects and some characters, I can’t comprehend anything that is happening now. It’s very disappointing.

whats the history of the clans? did thunderstar, shadowstar, etc still found them?
Great question, my friend. The full history of all of them in one post would be a lot, so, for now, lets just cover Thunderclan
The Mythology
As most cultures do, Thunderclan has various myths and oral stories passed down through generations telling how the clans came to be. Thunderclan, specifically, is said to have been formed initially as Lionclan.
Now, a bit of actual real world history here, New Forest National Park- the southern english place that the forest territories are based off of- were originally the homeland of early Anglo-Saxon tribal groups, but it was then proclaimed a royal forest by William the Conquerer in 1079, first recorded being called Nova Foresta in 1086. It only actually became a site of scientific interest in 1971, becoming a National Park in 2005.
All that to say, it's been around for a long damn time. And the cats know of this, they don't have a concept of human years, but they say Lionclan was around 'before Starclan', meaning Lionclan predates their current concept of modern cat ancestors.
In their mythos, Lionclan was a proud, strong clan of massive, mane-bearing cats that hunted in groups and had a singular leader, with a roar capable of being heard by every other clan, no matter where they were. They hunted large prey, like deer and boar, on their own, something that a modern cat thunderclan cat can only take down with the help of an entire patrol.
It's an understatement to say Thunderclan is still a proud clan, and they take much, much pride in occasionally still looking like the Lions that they came from. Lionheart, Sunstar, Cricketsun, and Lionblaze are the best examples of this.
According to their stories, however, Lionclan eventually grew smaller in size, as twolegs moved in more heavily than before, and the large prey they hunted became more and more scarce, being hunted by twolegs instead. This is what they consider to be the beginning of 'Thunderclan' and the Modern Cats.
(Dawn Of The Clans as an arc did not happen. I refuse to acknowledge it as a canonical part of this story, so im making up my own.)
They called the founder of Thunderclan 'Thunderstar' not because it was his name, but because of the lightning-shaped scar across his face, a mark of his survival against a massive beast. He was said to be cat-sized but distinctly Lion in appearance, and led his clan well, despite a series of tragedies that led to his early leadership.
When he died sacrificing his life for his clan, they created the Thunderclan Sigil- the cat outline with the lightning bolt- in honor of him. He still exists in Starclan, as his clan remembers him fondly. It is rumored that Sunstar was the last descendant of Thunderstar, though of course nobody can confirm that.
The True History
Now, we get to the truth of the matter. Lionclan, very simply, did not exist. The most truth to it is likely a group of zoo or perhaps circus lions escaped a long time ago, and oral tale of the nearby housecats became fantastical after so long.
The Prophecy Begins is set somewhere around 2009, i'd say. The clans were founded probably at the turn of the century, in 1900 or just before. Long enough that it seems ancient to clan cats, but not nearly old compared to literally any human civilization.
Thunderstar was not a 'small lion', but instead a Maine Coon. The Clans were not, in fact, descended from big cats at all, but instead the result of kittypets escaping their owners and becoming feral.
In fact, Thunderstar was not his name whatsoever. His scar was true, though, he did have a lightning-shaped scar across his face, but it was caused by a fox, not some mysterious beast. His true name has been lost to time, but he was not, at any point, called the suffix '-star', as the use of 'star' to designate the leader didn't happen until about 2 leaders later.
He was Thunder's Rule, King of Thunderclan. A King who's bloodline continued ruling until his grandson stepped down and put in the deputy and -star concepts.
It is true that Sunstar is a very distant descendant of him, but his bloodline survived, through Featherwhisker. The medicine cat who got away with breaking code, by having a daughter. Willowpelt and her lineage are the last line of Thunderstar, though i haven't decided wether that gets lost to time or Jayfeather manages to figure it out during his ghost walks. Either way, as of Arc 7, the most recent Thunderkin are Greykit, Bristlekit, and Stemkit.
Thunderstar is still very much alive and well in Starclan, though he keeps to the edges of the territory because he's still salty he lost his bloodline's "right" to the leadership of thunderclan. If he could contact his relatives, he'd be hounding them to get the title back. And it might even work, but the rest of the leaders since his reign stop him from trying.
Unfortunately, his kits and grandson have been forgotten and faded out of starclan, as the 'rulers to star' distinction was never made in their mythos.
In terms of how well he ruled... well, his clan thrived, that was for sure. Unfortunately that was because of the sneaky, tricking ways he fought his wars, and the fact he might have commited a regicide or two to keep 'unhelpful' people out of his way. But Thunderclan doesn't remember that part, they only care about the fact he 'led his clan to success', no matter how much bloodshed was caused by it.

10, 15 and 33 for Siavash?
Thank you 🥰 Essay warning, also mild nsfw
10. What scares them about entering a relationship?
Siavash lives in terror of being abandoned and deserving it. Happened once already. He carries a lot of guilt after that previous relationship because he really hurt someone he cared about, and he’s all too aware of Woljif’s trust issues. He goes into this being extra careful not to gush and say things he might not mean, but at least now he’s got someone who’s up for troublemaking, unlike the last guy who had his nose in his books most of the time. He has to consciously swear to himself not to hurt Woljif with his flightiness. It’s a labor of love. As for Woljif, he goes into this thinking he “wants” this relationship like he “wants” wealth. He’s not scared! All those strange feelings? Must be something he ate! But if we peel back the layers, his deepest fear is that he’s unlovable. His shadow reminds him of it often just in case he starts to feel secure. He can’t seem to sniff out what the ulterior motive is in this case—his skills, the sex?—until the Abyss, and then he thinks he gets it: the narcissism. Siavash just wants to congratulate himself on another successful rescue project. His grateful pet tiefling trottin’ along at his heel. The reason it gets to him so deeply is that there’s an element of truth in that. But it’s not just narcissism on Sia’s part. There’s genuine respect, trust and love. Still in the Abyss it becomes harder to think straight, so much so that when his grandfather offers him the chance to become somebody important, it’s hard to pass up. If Siavash hadn’t demonstrated his respect and trust in that moment, things would have gone very differently.
15. What, for them, constitutes a level of intimacy that they would only rarely share with someone? This can be physical, emotional, etc.
The first thing that comes to mind is Woljif not liking to be seen naked. It takes him a while. But seriously that’s literal and figurative: he’s terrified of vulnerability. It’s a funny case, because he has no shame whatsoever about being a coward, but to him that’s a sign of being smart. The last thing he wants to be is an easy mark. Letting sentiment get in the way of good sense. That underlies why he doesn’t say the L-word easily or let himself get caught crying even by Siavash for a very long time. Which is why those moments are all the more heartbreaking when they do happen. Physically Siavash has very little filter. He skinny dips, he’s touchy-feely, he’s easy in bed. Emotionally he’s all sunshine and confidence but there does come a point where he’ll confide in Woljif just how terrified he is that he’ll let people down. His optimism is one of his greatest strengths as Knight-Commander, so he’s unwilling to let anyone see those moments of doubt.
33. Under what circumstances would they feel jealous?
Woljif cycles through the stages of jealousy pretty fast. At first thinking there’s no way he’s the only one, then ok he’s the only one but there’s no way this is going to last, then ok so this is for real. He’s aware of the looks Siavash gets as Knight-Commander and that flirty warmth he exudes with people, but he never sees anything that seems like more than just the chief putting on the old bardic magnetism. Woljif is unusually secure about this. That may be different in an AU where they met someone especially compelling though… (looking respectfully at certain OCs) Bearing in mind that in the crusade timeline they’ve only been together about a year and a half when they ascend, there’s little opportunity for jealousy until then. After ascension it’s another story. They both come unmoored and begin exploring their poly tendencies, among other things. (I’ve had a little smut fic about it in the works for a couple months. One of Daeran’s celestial parties. One day I’ll finish it. Maybe.) Which brings me to the question of Daeran. There is always, and there always will be, unresolved sexual tension. Siavash is totally platonic about Daeran (at least that’s what he tells himself. over and over.), but Woljif hardly hides his curiosity and attraction, which does not fail to miff Sia. Daeran openly expresses casual interest in Siavash from Act II but that’s par for the course, just a pastime. No roses. He’s a bit mean about turning up his nose at Woljif, but in reality he wasn’t being sarcastic when he said he values their platonic friendship too much. Once Siavash and Woljif are a couple, Daeran takes a benevolent, protective attitude toward them and would literally kill anyone who tried to break them up, and yet—he can’t seem to stop taking an intrusive interest in their sex life. He’ll claim sex is no big deal to him, it’s just his nature. I’m not sure. I think he’s jealous, yet also admiring, of the love and connection they have. And he adores embarrassing them. A little too much. In my hc that’s never going to work itself out. For all eternity.
