Listen. We need to put emphasis and appreciate Charlie’s characterization of his QSMP character because holy shit, on top of being silly, today has provided so much depth to Q!Charlie as a whole.

It’s heart wrenching outside humor when you think about it.

“Your marriage is not strengthened by good nights, or good sex, it is tested by people like me, who come to cause problems.”

This dialogue to Roier puts Mariana’s cheating allegations into perspective. Whether it’s canon that he did or didn’t, it tells us how much Charlie has forgiven and given him a chance.

People like me, is such a heavy emphasis on his self-awareness that he is toxic and problematic and insanity. Subtle self-deprecating at its finest, just to emotionally scar us further.

Charlie always being a willing participant to cause problems on purpose is an effect of not having anything to lose anymore. Juanaflippa is gone, and he hasn’t seen Mariana in a while. He has been severely lonely and isolated since his exile, and he is numb to it that he “doesn’t feel anything”, according to what he told Foolish.

“Necesito amor.” [I need love.]

But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t need or want love. He desperately does, by all means necessary, even if it’s by being a willing participant to cause problems to others. He’ll take what he can get because he hasn’t moved on and won’t let go of his daughter being gone.

He did once believe that Mariana could fix him, I think he said this to Jaiden after the trial was over and done with. He believed this because Mariana is someone who can ground him and keep him from doing something incredibly stupid.

They ground each other. It’s evident during the funeral, with Mariana offering that they kill themselves and Charlie saying no, and then vice versa. It’s not a coincidence that he is more “tamed” when Mariana’s with him.

Things that happen when Charlie is by himself: makes a deal with Satan to get his daughter a gun, attempting to slaughter all the eggs, refuses to resurface back up in the mines during exile, suggesting the gegg idea to Quackity and executing it, and now this.

Without Mariana, Charlie is out there by himself, not knowing how to deal and handle his grief, his loneliness and isolation, his desperation for love.

We can all say Charlie is being a menace, but y’all gotta be reminded that the man is a D&D player. He sprinkles such hard hitting dialogues in between the laughs.

At last, you and Alex were finally living under the same roof in Los Angeles. You were living in a studio apartment for a while, but finally upgraded to a two story house just outside the main city with your boyfriend.

Money was the first problem that you tackled beforehand, which you got sorted nice and easily. The next was unpacking and buying new furniture.

You'd already took out some loans for new furniture since both of you either didn't have some furniture, or needed to scrap the old stuff you found off eBay for a scarily low price. The trip to the closest furniture store, about three miles away, was horrifying.

You'd never been a stickler with money, but coming up not having much of it sometimes taught you a great amount about fair pricing. However, when you saw a large number, you stood there awkwardly, wondering if you could afford it or if it was even worth it. Alex was the same, but he was more comfortable spending larger amounts of money on bigger things because he understood the expenses a bit better than you did.

All in all, you probably spent about two thousand dollars at that place. You'd ended up finding some good furniture off of eBay that you could go pick up that afternoon, and found a nice and free dresser set out by the road from someone who didn't want it anymore.

The house, now a month later, was finally furnished and you were in charge of decorations while he organized the kitchen and set up the PC's and other electronics. You two hadn't been doing much other than get used to sharing a room and a bed 24/7. You ended up deciding it'd be better to save that room for something else and have your bedrooms and office combined into one. If anyone wanted to snuggle in the night, they'd go to the other person's room.

It was mostly for privacy, and so you wouldn't end up fighting or beating the shit out of each other. You both needed downtime away from each other, a perfectly normal and healthy aspect of a relationship.

The next part, after setting your desktops up and decorating your rooms and whatnot, was getting into the routine of living together and not doing everything independently. Both of you were independent and didn't need to rely on each other, a good thing, but when it came to getting groceries or going out or streaming, talking about it and making decisions together would be the next step in moving forward.

Tiger was a whole conversation in herself. Alex decided he'd take care of her litter box and you decided you'd take care of her food and water. He felt bad making you take care of his cat, but you found no problem with it considering Tiger was like your child already.

The final steps were just getting used to living with each other and boundaries that came with it.

But, over time, everything would go great.

“Ughhhh.” 5 more minutes. “Y/n wake up!” Mom says. *sigh* “I’m up!”

You slide out of bed and start getting ready to go back to hell. You wear *your choice* clothes for school. “Y/n, hurry and come eat breakfast before the bus comes!” “Okay!” You say. You walk down the stairs to smell that sweet smell of pancakes and syrup. You eat your food and wait for the bus.

*time skip to school*

You hop off the bus and start walking to the doors. Once you walk in you hear a familiar voice. “Hey y/n.” It was Alex. “What do you want?” You say, aggravated already. “Woah calm down, I can’t just say hi?” He says. “No actually.” You say as you walk away. You never really thought of why you hated Alex, it was just something about him getting on your nerves. Even since you met in 3rd grade you were at each other’s necks all the time. Like this one time in 5th grade, he tripped you in the hallway right in front of your crush. So you got him back by putting glue in his seat, it was funny nonetheless. But even all of this hatred you have for each other you couldn’t lie and say you’ve never had a crush on him. But since you were enemies, you never thought of asking him out, so you pushed your feelings to the side and kept the rivalry going. You snap out of you thoughts as you approach your first period, math.

*time skip to 5th period*

“Hello class! Today we have a project that you are going to work with a partner for it. But I will be choosing your partners.” Visible anger came form the class. “Okay settle down! Let me name off the people who are working together.” All the sudden you hear a voice behind you. “Hey y/n. I hope we’re partners. That means I’ll get to annoy you even more.” Alex said. “You know, I hope we’re not partners. Because if we are, it’s not gonna be good.” You say. “You know it’s a privilege to work with me!” Alex said. You roll your eyes, “you’re so full of yourself.”, you say as you turn back around.

“Okay, Max and Sarah. Keith and Liz. Y/n and Alex..” “What what!?” You say. “You heard me miss y/n. You will be working with Alex.” The teacher says. “Please there has to be someone else to work with!” You say. “No. You work with Alex or you get an 0.” You sigh as you look back at a smirking Alex. “This is gonna be fun.” He says. Although you acted mad about it, you didn’t feel all that bad about working with him. You were nonetheless curious on what his house looked liked or what he did in his free time.

But nothing could’ve prepared you from what will happen when you spend the next week with him working on the project.

(long post about purgatory and meta and rp)

sigh one thing ive been thinking is that it feels a bit unfair to see so many people complaining or doomposting over how purgatory affects the overarching qsmp rp story or how it ~interrupted arcs~ or is ~disturbing current storylines~ or ~narratively unsatisfying~ like. Sure. its a bit abrupt and most players were caught off guard because lore-wise it stems from the federation which means none of them were told about anything beforehand

but... its only been three days. maybe we could have a little faith? like idk ill be soooooo out there rn and say that maybe the admins did this now for a reason. maybe itll make sense later on. we already see lore repercussions with elquackity and his motives and all the nods to the eggs.

theres fair criticism to be made (when done respectfully) if youre mainly here for the roleplay but i feel like we sometimes need to remind ourselves that the qsmp storytelling is a VERY ambitious project. lmao. imagine being the writing team and trying to wrangle 20+ characters with distinct points of view and journeys on an ever-changing story because of the very nature of live rp. its practically IMPOSSIBLE to tie up every loose end neatly and at this point i dont think we should expect that. keeping up momentum with all plotlines must also be pretty hard, cc's schedules and outside factors like server programming and building and mod tweaking and all those meta elements considered and so on and so on

i DO also want the story to move forward and be cohesive and make sense in a satisfactory way. like i really do!!!!!!! but i try to understand that thats not ALL the qsmp is about. from the start quackity said the server wouldn't be exclusive to the rp aspect. it sure is that way right now, but thats because most of the active members are VERY passionate about roleplaying. thats a good thing! they have fun and its fun to watch and the experience is mostly good for everyone because it corresponds to their expectations to an extent

the thing about purgatory is that i feel like its a lot more meta than most people doomposting realize. it ties into the story, sure, but to me it feels like the sudden switch in environment and vibes and stakes isnt actually catered to the rp and thats FINE. like thats not what it exists for and thats fineeeeeee

pac for one has said he appreciates the event for the change of pace, though its very hard (lol), because regular qsmp was starting to feel a bit stale to him and he was kind of running out of things to do. THATS A GREAT THING! managing player engagement like that is awesome and sometimes necessary. YES, purgatory caters to a very different playstyle than what we're used to -- and thats one of its strenghts.

a lot of hispanic creators have also felt this!!!! roier, rivers and carre most prominently have been VERY excited about this event because its similar in format to a lot of spanish speaking events like mc extremo and such. a lot of these players are also not particularly interested in rp-ing and had not been logging on very often prior to purgatory.

even roleplay regulars like tubbo, fit and bbh have shown interest in purgatory for the competitive nature of the setting!!! thats cool too!!!! something different, new possibilities to play around with. thats what the events should be about. kudos to the admins and dev teams for attempting it in such a big scale. their effort shows and all the mechanics weve seen are really fucking cool

i love the roleplay!!!!!! its one of my favorite parts of the qsmp!!!!!! but its not ALL there is and it shouldnt be! non rp-oriented creators are also part of the project and deserve to have a little fun too -- not to mention a big chunk of the hispanic fan community that has blown up twitter with support bc what we have rn is similar to events they already love!!!!!!! im glad to see so many of them get excited again!!!!!!

at the end of the day, qsmp is a LONG long term project, and purgatory ends in two weeks. by the time its over, we can all choose to engage with it as we wish. it can be a big filler episode in your mind, if you want. it can be just for fun..... otherwise, if its not fun, your regularly scheduled qsmp will be back soon anyway :3 its fine to not like it, its fine to have something negative to say about it if properly tagged and not like. crazy entitled or blown out of proportion for what this situation is.

i just hope we can all manage our online experiences accordingly and avoid making things less enjoyable for each other. this is supposed to be fun

So, as far as I can tell, after today all of the lovely Tripoiers are doing a complete 180. Now that he might come back with his memory all banged up, they’ve decided they no longer want qRoier to get kidnapped anymore! Which is awesome! For them! But I’m just here like… imagine the angst :D!!

Like imagine what would happen if the Federation takes qRoier and not only fumbles his memories, but completely wipes them. All the way back to when he first arrived on the island. He would’ve never experienced the Abueloier incident, Bobby and Tilin’s deaths, the taco incident, the betrayals, all of the friendships he’s made and has lost (kidnapped or no longer logs on). All the pain he’s experienced gone in an instant

Those who watch carefully will know how deeply all of this constantly affects qRoier. So just think of the emotional whiplash when the members of the island, who would be panicked about qRoiers wellbeing after the kidnapping, are seeing him being returned by the Federation… Happy? Like truly genuinely happy. Happier than the French have ever seen him. Happier than the the Brazilians have ever seen him. Hell, even some of the original members of the island have to do a double take because they’ve never realized how much qRoier’s mental state has declined since day 1

And not only that but like!! Would they try to get his memories back? Would they willingly try to reawaken the grief and pain he experienced so he can “be himself” again? Or would they let him start fresh?

I love qRoier with all my heart which means he gets the angst hammer! >:D (I’m so sorry! For the dump! I just like the way you analyze characters! And would appreciate your thoughts!!)

Now see the kicker is that q!Roier is a very good actor. He more or less behaves the exact same way he did before he started experiencing the Horrors, he just has a bit of a harder time openly trusting people. The only person who knows how sad he actually is rn is q!Bad, and that’s only because Roier had to tell him for the survey. He doesn’t care if the Feds know he’s sad, he’d probably go with them willingly if they asked to meet him alone. He’d scream and protest and go kicking and screaming if they actually tried doing something to him, but also?

The Feds love him. They always have, and even the current Cucurucho seems to have a bit of a soft spot for him. Even the ‘gods’ (read: the admins) will call down lightning on him if he asks, and they’ll revive him in dungeons he’s doing solo. They’ve been reviving him since week one without fail. The Feds allowed his grandfather- an “outsider”- onto the island and let him stay and they saved his life when q!Cellbit killed him because Roier was sad. The only things they’ve ever refused him are a gun and the return of Bobby, but even with Bobby they let him and Jaiden have more time to say goodbye than every other parent got combined. They pay special attention to his happiness- remember when Cellbit’s task for the day for them was to find out why Roier was sad and what would make him happy again? The entire point of the Quest for Bobby was for Roier to see how many friends he has because the Feds know he’s lonely! They’re just really bad at being a support system because they don’t understand the emotions going on.

They like him to the point that he’s actually questioned multiple times if he’s actually part of the Federation, and other people have asked the same, which definitely won’t ever come up again.

This is all to say: I don’t think they’d wipe his memories because he isn’t actually being a problem. Quackity was a problem. He was making other people sad, so he had to he dealt with. Meanwhile Roier is alone in his sadness, which isn’t optimal, but I think that they quite literally like him and his family too much to fuck with him on that level. They’ll punish him eventually, but their attempts to cheer him up so far have actually had some results. He isn’t trying to kill anyone anymore, and he’s happy enough with his family with Vegetta and Foolish and Leo (all the Federation’s favorites) and then with Jaiden (Cucurucho’s favorite) and then with Cellbit and Richarlyson (we all know how much the Feds love their favorite employee.) He’s domesticated (outside of his new bombing obsession), and that’s probably good enough for the Federation.

After all, the saddest people are oftentimes the happiest.

Happy one year to the QSMP!!!!

There’s a lot going on with the server right now that is being sorted out, but I just want to share my appreciation for every part of this project.

This server means so much to me. I used to watch DSMP and it will always hold a special place in my heart, but as anything does, it ended. It was already dwindling out but I think the thing that really did it was technoblade passing. And I’m gonna be honest I’m still not over that. I watched him more than any other creator, he means so much to me. The time in between his death and the start of the qsmp was especially sad. I was just missing a lot. Him, the server he played on, that community, etc.

I wanted to engage with the content from the people that he played with, but it was hard. Every update about him, such as technodad streaming, dream making the song about him, was a lot emotionally.

Also not to mention I was sooo hyperfixating on both him and the dream smp as a whole. So it left a big void in my life. I wanted to be wholeheartedly invested in something again.

Around the beginning of 2023, I started watching old Quackity vods and that became my new comfort thing. Just the silly ones where he was watching soap operas and stuff.

Then not so long after I had started doing that, he announced the QSMP. I cannot describe to you my excitement. That week or so before it started I was just so excited. And before that lmaoooo I was not thriving. School was crazy busy, I cut my own bangs and it looked terrible, and that pretty much exemplifies where I was at.

I remember switching to slimecicle’s perspective at some point during the first stream and I followed him, fit, roier, and Mariana as they went mining and were very silly. I smiled the whole time. And then, I watched more the next day, and the next day.

I had forgotten what it felt like to be a part of something that was actively taking place. It had been a while since that was how the dream smp was. I would go weeks or months without any updates, and I would just be by myself reading fanfics.

It felt really fucking good to be able to enjoy something new. Not to replace what I had before, but to start a new adventure. That’s what it feels like to me.

There was a lot to keep up with at first and luckily I had social media to sum things up for me.

Fast forward and the Brazilian members join, then the French. Each time I was a little hesitant to accept them with open arms into my mind palace but it wasn’t very long until I couldn’t imagine the server without them.

And from day 1 I was so impressed with the planning and story of the server, forcing people to stay interested. That’s something the dream smp didn’t have. I honestly don’t think I would need any of the events to have a good time, but oh my god do they make it so fun.

And the animatics???? Hello?????? I love it so much.

Now I’ve learned to accept any new members immediately. Korean members join? TIME TO DRAW THEM!

Quackity started this project with a clear vision. It is so clearly a huge passion project for him. I don’t doubt for a second that it will keep going no matter what happens.

This server has exposed me to so many creators I would never have even heard of and that’s the point. I only speak English. Without this server, I would not know half of my current silly little blorbos.

I can’t believe how creative and funny Roier is. I think about Cellbit Bagi’s lore all the time. I find myself saying “I am the best!” After Etoiles. I’ve tried to absorb as much of the fuga impossivel lore as I can. I adore Baghera’s chaos. Even some of the English speaking people I didn’t really watch that much, like jaiden, fit, even slimecicle, who I now watch probably more than anyone else.

The other day, I watched the stream of cellbit and roier playing hospital 666. In Spanish!! I don’t speak Spanish!!! I only understood about half of what they’re saying and I’m sure that half is because of QSMP. That’s incredible. This is something so much bigger than any one of us.

QSMP has given me so many people to start watching and drawing/writing/thinking about. It has given me hours upon hours of laughing and smiling. It has given me a new hyperfixation to occupy my thoughts before bed.

It means so much to me. Ever since it started, I’ve been so much happier. I could never have imagined something like this would come around. Honestly, there is not anything like this. It is the first of its kind, hopefully not the last 👀

A year went by fast. And I’m so glad to have been here since the beginning. But even then, new people join this community all the time. That’s so cool. This server has in just a year added so many more content creators, and by extension, fans. It’s insane.

And I am so, so excited for what the future will bring us 😊

Punz leaped forward and Technoblade had to tackle them to the ground to keep them from going after Dream, both pairs of eyes locked on the doorway the split second it all exploded into flames.

Punz let out a wordless scream, their hands scrambling against Techno in an attempt to free themself. Techno tried to push back down on them without actually hurting them. It was hard. Techno found that it was always easier to hurt someone than to not, to actually help them, but he was willing to put in the extra effort. He wasn’t always close with Punz, but they’d grown to appreciate each other, and, even if he hadn’t, Techno didn’t like to make a habit out of hurting people (who hadn’t hurt him) for no reason.

“Let me go, Technoblade!” Punz hissed, blue eyes flashing in the dim light. Their hands were still clambering, scratching against his arms.

Techno rolled off of them, releasing their wrists last. It couldn’t hurt to be careful, he had learned time and time again. “There. You good now?”

“No, I’m fucking not! I’m not!” they spat. “Why–why did you fucking do that? We could of done something–”

“I did that so that you wouldn’t end up dead,” Techno stated calmly. He had to just not panic. He just had to try to defuse the situation. He could deal with everything else later, once everything was taken care of and done. Just not yet. He had to hold himself together for now. “It wouldn’t do either of us any good, and I don’t want Dream’s ghost haunting me for all eternity because I let you get yourself killed, Punz.”

“Well, that’s the thing! There’s no ghost!” Punz spat, stabbing a finger in Techno’s face. “Not when the soul’s instability’s the cause of death. Not when it’s a sacrifice.” Their voice broke, becoming softer. They reeled back, curling in on themself, hugging themself tight with their arms. “If there was just a ghost, it’d be easy. This–this is permanent.”

Techno moved to comfort them, pulling an arm around them, careful to pull back if they refused. He was honestly surprised that they were so vocal – all the time that he’d known them, they’d been reserved and tightly-strung – but he supposed that it was better they were lashing out now instead of trying to bottle everything up inside. “Dream got to go the way he wanted, on his own terms. Most of us don’t get that chance.”

“I know,” Punz whispered. “I know. It still doesn’t make it any better.”

Techno wasn’t sure why he kept talking. He wasn’t good at emotions. He wasn’t good at people. Phil was the one who was good at comforting people, reassuring them that everything was okay. Prime, he wished Phil was here, able to take care of this whole situation. But he wasn’t, so Techno would just have to hope that he was enough. “There was nothing either of us could do. If one of us went in there, we’d be dead too.”

“I know,” Punz repeated. “But…” they floundered, grasping for the right word. “But it would still be doing something. Being able to do something. Not just having to helplessly watch it happen.”

“Yeah?” Techno asked, knowing that he probably wouldn’t get a response. He knew that feeling; he was the one trapped in Pandora’s Vault for three months with Dream, having to watch every time Quackity “visited”. Punz might not have been there, but they’d been through their own share of suffering and not being able to do anything about it.

True to form, Punz just closed their eyes and leaned back against the wall behind them, swallowing quickly. A moment later, they opened their eyes again and sighed. Techno could tell they had changed. Their eyes were icy, remote, aloof, and their mouth was pulled into a thin line.

“You’re wrong,” Punz stated, coldly, confidently, emotionless, inflectionless.

“Heh?”

“It would of been better if you didn’t do anything. If you let me go after him,” Punz told Techno, simply, like it was simply a matter of fact.

“Why? Do you want to die?” Technoblade demanded.

Punz shifted entirely, the cold melting away and being replaced with frantic, helpless anger. Techno suddenly realized he had never seen them upset before, just irritated or annoyed, or at least not this viscerally. “Because at least then we would of died together! Because it should of been me!” they screamed, hands turned into vises and clinging desperately to their arms. “Technoblade, it should of been me!” Their eyes were filled with desperation, panic, a need for someone to blame and finding that within themself.

“Hey, hey, don’t be like that. Why would it be better if it was you?” Techno asked, trying to calm them down. He didn’t know what he was doing. He was panicking. Focus, focus. What would Phil do?

“Because he’s already suffered so much and I haven’t! Because people care about him and they wouldn’t if it was me! Because–because it would be kinder, Technoblade!”

“Death is never kind–”

“What would you do if it was me who died, Techno?” Punz demanded. “You’d be fine! You’d keep walking and tell Dream to forget about it and think to yourself good riddance!”

“I wouldn’t–” Techno tried to start.

“Don’t lie to me,” Punz commanded, tears streaming down their cheeks. “Don’t fucking lie to me, Technoblade.”

/rp for all of this . i think c!sapnap and c!tubbo shouldve had a chance to be friends again. like c!eret is always attributed as the one who took tubbos first life but sapnap was the one to Actually do it and they still have like. tension with each other like sapnap kept messing with michael and insulted tubbo during the tour with tina when looking over lmanburg meanwhile tubbo seems to be like. unaware of sapnaps distaste towards him? and i think tubbo probably still misses when he was just fucking around with sapnap but then they grew apart especially throughout tubbos presidency

and its so tragic because a good chunk of why sapnap went against dream is because of how he treated tommy so idk itd be sweet if he offered that same protection to tubbo but at the same time theres something really interesting in how sapnap and tubbo used to be good friends but tubbo just kept being on opposing sides even though he certainly does appreciate? sapnap in some wayand i think sapnap internalized that in some sort of way because while tommy always felt the need to apologize tubbo didnt because like. he didnt have any reason to. either he was being hurt by sapnap or his harmful actions werent directed to sapnap so he doesnt think sapnap would have any true ill will towards him especially after the disc finale

and yet imo i think theyre the two characters that make the most sense to kill dream? tommy is out because i think him separating himself from dream is like.. Important. this post isnt abt that ill talk about that another time. characters like eret and wilbur are out bc i think its important to their stories for them to Not take someones final life even as a moment of redemption. george could be a contender but i think dream being dead breaking him out of his dissociative stupor would have to be like. through him Not doing it because he already dreamed about doing so? and i think sam and quackity need to like. heal. and killing dream would boost their beliefs that theyre in the right too much. techno phil and niki are out bc i dont want techno to have a Big Cool moment of taking out the Big Bad, phil doesnt care enough about dream, and niki for similar reasons as sam and quackity. and i cant think of anyone else who it would be like. a reasonable story beat. except maybe jack or punz i think if jack did it itd be funny BUT STILL

sooo much of tubbo and sapnaps relationships with dream is like. him just not taking them seriously. tubbos a pawn to him sapnap is practically nothing more than a dog by his side and either of them killing him is like.. a final fuck you. breaking the game. and itd be really interesting if they teamed up to do it but their relationship isnt really like that in canon. missed opportunity imo like sapnap was a factor into the dominos that led to michael getting kidnapped he stole the nightmare set (to get it away from dream, but still) i think hes genuinely one of the few who may actually believe a part of lmanburg falling was because of tubbos presidency he was on dreams side for a good while he was the first person to take a life and it was tubbos. sapnap wishes he were apart of lmanburg to the point of counting himself as a citizen despite everything. tubbo believed his purpose in life was lmanburg. but sapnap sort of just keeps slighting tubbo and tubbo barely even notices and i think they just deserve a chance to talk. i think theyd have a lot to talk about

I think. That what drives me the most crazy about all the assorted CCs that throw shade at Dream, or just in general have distanced either publicly or not… they don’t say anything. Which they aren’t obligated to, But really, with the numbers growing, it shouldn’t be that scary at this point? Just stand your ground on why you don’t like him. Charlie Slime especially just… after the CMC situation I just thought he’d have the balls for it. (I know it was different in terms of evidence and direct link, but still, snide grooming jokes don’t make anyone look good). It really for a lot of them looks like they don’t care about (alleged) victims at all and only did it because they knew they’d be crucified by their fans if they didn’t. I don’t know how to explain it. I guess it’s the lawyer in Quackity (he’s already proved how well he can say so much and nothing at all) that keeps him away from the public slander, but throw a dog a bone- damn. It’ll hit someone in the head and wake them up.

Anyway. Just found this side of tumblr today, was an infrequent KF lurker (MT situation drug me there, led to knowing too much disease early on, as much as I wish I didn’t know a lot of that personal stuff) and twitter makes my brain melt so I happily only see mostly studio Ghibli over there now with doses of Foolish and Tina (some Hannah and Sylvee). ... okay, yeah. I think you know, too.

c!Quackity is a character who means a lot to me, despite (or perhaps because of) his story's many Dark, Disturbing, and Depressing turns. But I do believe that since c!Charlie's death and the insights he gleaned from those lessons with him, the narrative is on an upward trajectory. And I'm glad for it! I want c!Quackity to heal. I want him to process everything he's been through. I want him to trust others and have that trust repaid. I want him to have a chance to do good in the world, just as he set out to do at the very beginning of his story. I want him to have time to do the things he needs to do, say the things he needs to say, and mend his bonds with the people who mean the most to him.

But I don't necessarily want him to get everything he wants. I don't want him to forget what he's done to arrive where he is now, and I don't want the people he's hurt to forget it, either. I don't want these wrongs to go unaddressed or unpunished. And I think his recurring motif of "legacy," of everything a person leaves behind, is going to require some serious reevaluation - because the legacy he's building now is quite literally sitting on a foundation of sand. What exactly is he going to leave behind? Is Las Nevadas, the physical place, all he has? What happens when it's destroyed, either by enemies or by time? What happens when he can no longer prevent the grimmer aspects of his history from coming to light? What about the people who care about him or who once did; how would they remember him when he's gone? And what's he doing to change that, repair these relationships, help those around him, reach out to people who are willing to give him their help as well? He's started that work, but there's a long way to go.

So, my perfect ending for him is somewhat bittersweet. I would say one where he makes the best possible use of time he understands to be limited, in which he can't fix everything he's done wrong, but he still ends on his own terms in a better place than he began, knowing that he'll leave something good behind - though not something its flaws remaining, which history will judge him for just as strongly it praises his successes.

Or - my preferred choice - one where he loses everything except his life. His home, his wealth, his power, his reputation, and likely many of his friendships. One where he is forced to adopt a more sustainable view, where he resists the pressure to grandstand or manipulate or start fights just to prove that he's strong enough to survive them. One where he faces his real last chance to secure a legacy, and he chooses to cherish the people he loves - those that are with him here and now - instead of expending his humanity to spite the dead and irrelevant or impress those who don't yet exist.

(For my fellow c!Karlnapity enjoyers, here is where I see their thematic tie-in: c!Karl's time travel and loss of identity, c!Sapnap's self-sacrificial promise, and c!Quackity's fear of fading away after his death... when will they learn to value what they can offer in the present? When will they no longer be afraid to lose what they have left? When will they realize they don't need to carry everything on their shoulders alone? When will they let themselves appreciate the simple joys again?)

I would push against the word "happy," because I think things need to get much, much worse before they get better, and I think the ideal conclusion for c!Quackity will inevitably make some people very, very sad. But I would love to see an optimistic ending, no matter how long it takes.

Give us an ending that's true to c!Quackity's entire narrative: one where he is reduced to nothing, and grows back nonetheless.

Loving Quackity wasn't easy, you knew that. He had the fame of being a flirty-manipulator prick, and most of the people that came to the Casino you came across to, just came to have an opportunity to be with him, at least a one-night stand.

You always felt uncomfortable with this people's thoughts of having a change with your own boyfriend, and sometimes you couldn't help but feel like it would happen.

Quackity always hated the fact that people came to win him as if he were a stupid trophy. He had already been used by Jschlatt when the goat prick was alive. And even though he knew he fucked up the other two past relationships he had (His engagement with Eret first, and then the whole problem with his ex-fiancés Karl and Sapnap), he was completely happy to be with you, to the point that he promised to not do anything to fuck it up.

Too bad he didn't count your doubt on his loyalty.

And now it was a normal night; the both of you in Quackity's office at the Casino Royal. He was happy to have you there, being able to give you kisses whenever you were distracted and hold you hand, far from all the noise that his clients made.

And for once, he didn't imagine a bad future with his partner. For once, he didn't felt like he was going to suffer on a relationship, that he could have a happy ending with someone he loved. The sweet duck didn't realize you were there to broke up with him.

“Quackity, there's something I wanna talk with you”, he turned his head to you with a warm smile, paying attention to whatever you were going to say. You felt the words hurt your throat. “I wanna break up with you...”

He felt his heart shatter. Did he heard wrong? It had to be, right? You didn't just broke up with him, no?

His smile disappeared in the blink of an eye. He stared at you, trying to see anything from you that indicated that it was a prank. But he found nothing. You truly were breaking up with him.

“But- why? Did I do something wrong mi amor?” his voice emanated panic, despair. Where did he fucked up!? He couldn't tell. “I... I don't know Q. I just don't want to be an obstacle between you and the people that came to see you.”

He felt hurt. Did you really thought he would cheat on you? That he would replace you with a nobody-stranger that wanted to get in his pants?

Tears started to slowly run through his face, facing now his desk while hiding his face between his hands. You could hear sobbing from his side; was he crying?

“Q... Are you, are you crying?” you felt confused, alarmed. Was he happy with the news? Was he sad? You couldn't really tell. “Q-”, “Yes I'm fucking crying! You're happy now!?” he snapped, facing you.

He was heartbroken. And so were you once you saw how he was. “How would you fucking feel if your partner tells you that they want to break up with you because they don't trust you!? You really thought that I would replace you, —prefer over you— a nobody-stranger that wanted to fuck with me!?” he stood up, his arms being wide awake trying to have an answer, because he couldn't find it.

You remained speechless, both of you were crying and shaking for all the commotion. You felt horrible for doubting him.

Silence reined over the room for a couple minutes. Quackity had some-what calmed down, and went back to sitting on his chair. Visibly thinking of something.

“I'm still not accepting this breaking, y/n.” you glanced at him, his voice sounded hurt and sore. “But right now, it's not the best time to talk. Can we discuss this tomorrow?” he looked at you, his eyes being red for crying, although you could still see some tears running. You nodded silently and he sighed. “Good, thanks.” a weak smile appeared on his face, “now let's try to enjoy this night, sounds alright pretty?”.

And with that, you both spent the night at the Casino, in his office. Quackity didn't let go of your hand, and neither did you. You both had a lot to fix tomorrow.

speaking of meet up streams, i never really liked karlnap meet up streams. i’ll be honest and say individually they are the two i watch the least out of dtqk, but i feel like whenever karl is involved in a meet up stream, they feel so impersonal. like the karlnap cooking stream, why was there a camera man? and why was he zooming in and out and shaking it around all the time? george’s solo cooking streams and the snf cooking stream were much more entertaining imo.

i loved all of the qnf irl streams in december, the two of them together are electric and they both know how to balance an entertaining stream whilst maintaining that level of intimacy with the viewers.

i really enjoyed the snf streams too, especially the minecraft one and the cooking stream. i LOVED the qnfnap smoothie stream, where one of Them was the camera man rather than a random person, and it felt kinda like a home video.

i think karl relies way too much on his mr beast connections and experience for streaming, when mr beast is not a streamer. what works for youtube videos doesnt work for streams.

i love the whole . mom and pop store hands on vibe. like heres my mom and pop ranking:

1) dream. started his journey by studying the algorithm. learned coding to make interesting plugins for videos even tho he doesn’t personally do that as much these days. comes up with video ideas, edits all his own main channel videos, heavily involved in lore and writing and has pitched so many ideas, edits other people’s videos too and comes up w ideas for them, trains himself for his content, aka like improving his skills for manhunt and sourcing plus coming up w cool traps and tricks

2) quackity. his youtube channel grew up from ground up since he was a kid he’s heavily involved in the editing process of his own videos aside from subtitling he has gone through so many phases on his channel to keep things fresh as a creator his LORE is all edited and written by him he’s put in the effort to reach out to creators to put together a cohesive entertaining storyline he has his own ideas, he’s great w production and performance

3) george. instrumental to a lot of the coded plugins for his and dream’s videos esp in the early days, takes a lot of pride in his channel even if he isn’t usually the creative driving force behind certain ideas, but stuff like the ‘minecraft but my friend is ___’ idea was found by him and pitched to dream, he also edits his own videos in the event where he doesn’t girlboss dream into it, he is less involved in lore but has done impressive streams w heavy cc involvement and like set up (aka him ‘destroying’ the server and it all going back) and he’s shown good acting skills, he cares about the entertainment value he brings, brainstorms ideas for fun streams etc

4) sapnap. he’s a little more of a does as told guy which is fine because he followed dream here and that’s awesome and i wish i had his life. he’s dedicated def, he puts effort into filming and editing and when they film a video for his channel he’s usually prompt about getting it done and with lore he has the heart he wants to participate and make it more entertaining and he also wants to have a laugh and he is just skilled and that’s impressive always to see

5) karl. im sorry i love you i will free you one day. but maybe u don’t want to be freed. anyway i appreciate karl’s tenacity like he is a fun guy very friendly and ‘everyone is his friend’ vibe he is where he is bc he worked very hard with the stroke of luck he had w mr beast but well the minecraft videos did him no favors. i know he has it in him it just feels like he gets too ambitious so obviously he has to delegate but then when there’s too much delegation it loses some sincerity :( im sorry

Okay so I just got to Clingy Duo's big argument before Tommy is exiled and I gotta say, c!Tommy is pissing me off so much.... It's great, I love it

So, even though it's been way too long since this arc happened and I am merely throwing words at a wall, I need to write down my personal opinion on this whole mess

So uh, on the affirmations that Tommy was 1) not acting selfishly, and 2) the only one to have compromised something for L'Manburg up until now, and the affirmation that Tubbo is getting closer to becoming the tyrant Schlatt was... (i read so many comments on the videos i watched about their argument claiming this):

(just warning that bellow are my unfiltered, biased opinions on this whole thing, so if you're very fond of Tommy, you might not agree very much with what i wrote)

((also, no, I don't hate Tommy, he just really annoyed me during his fight with Tubbo))

(((also also, don't take this too seriously, I literally just needed to write these thoughts down somewhere)))

-> Tommy is being super freaking selfish and Tubbo is definitely in the right here

Everyone has sacrificed things for L'Manburg already. It's like viewers are so fixated on the idea that Tommy is "the hero", that he's Theseus like Techno predicted, they forget everyone else has been fighting this whole time too.

Just during Schlatt's reign:

-Fundy sacrificed his relationship with his father and friends to become a spy

-Quackity sacrificed his power as vice-president (and if we go back to those days, Quackity did appreciate his position a lot, he used to be pretty power hungry too)

-Willbur sacrificed his goddamn sanity and consequently, his life

-Tubbo sacrificed months of himself as a person, working as a double spy for Pogtopia, putting his safety on the line /every single day/ just so he could give Willbur and Tommy the aid and info they wanted

-Literally every single other L'Manburg citizen? Who fought in the wars, laying down their lives for the country

If sacrificing something for the greater good is what makes someone a hero, then every single one of these people are heroes. Tommy is just one of many

The only things that separate Tommy from the others is Dream's ridiculous obssession with him and Tommy's own childish, reckless, irresponsible attitude

Everyone else is still doing their best rebuilding L'Manburg and trying to protect it, continuing on devoting themselves to the land they've fought so hard to keep. But Tommy has completely shed his "hero" skin already, and is back to being a reckless kid who doesn't think before acting and is ready to throw himself into a fire, causing trouble for petty reasons and playing with forces that are far beyond his reach, uncaring if that means he'll drag his friends down with him too.

Everyone is compromising. Everyone is giving up personal things for the greater good of the country. Even Dream is, to some extent. But Tommy is arguing - claiming he deserves a chance to "put himself first for a change" - as if he were the one single hero, the only one who's had to put aside personal things.

So yeah I'm sorry but no, Tubbo is not becoming corrupted - he is maturing, and growing into the best leader we have seen on this server yet, someone who cares about his people and is able to be level headed when problems arise. And he's still as loyal as ever too! It would be much safer for L'Manburg to exile Tommy from the start. But he still fought for Tommy's freedom. Only when it became the only viable option, did Tubbo truly consider the exile option.

Meanwhile, Tommy is indeed acting selfish. He is only thinking of his own self-interest, ignoring everyone else's needs (heck, ignoring their lives, who are at stake because of him!), disrespecting Tubbo not only as a superior but as a friend and a fellow comrade in battle, acting as if he were the only one who had to give something up, who had to endure things he didn't want to, as if he fought all those goddamn battles alone!

Tommy handing Dream the disks in favor of L'Manburg's independence all those months ago was supposed to be the turning point for him, where Tommy realised that no ammount of material objects, as emotionally attached to them as one could be, could ever compare to a human life (and loved lives at that).

But apparently he hasn't learnt that lesson yet.

And let's be honest, how many times has Tommy even listened to those discs anyway?? They are nothing but pieces of plastic, easily replaceable by others exactly the same, that, ever since Tommy has gotten them, have been collecting dust in someone else's Ender Chest. Tommy has no freaking use for those things, as sentimental items as they might be. They are useless and yet have been the cause of dozens of deaths and are the root of Dream's power over Tommy.

Can Tommy sacrificing his comrades, his whole country, for a couple of dusty discs that he doesn't use really be called anything but pure, petty selfishness? Sorry, but for me the answer is an easy no.

On another, less mad, note, daaaaamn everyone's acting was so good! Dream played off his part as the Big Bad Villain so goddamn well, I am amazed

And Tubbo too, his acting was phenomenal the whole stream! You could feel the hurt in his voice, the barely concealed anxiety over all that's happening, his anger at Tommy mixed with tons of worry for him, his fear of Dream, fear for L'Manburg, Tubbo forcing himself to stay strong and unbiased - like, jesus christ, it's so obvious this is the last thing he wants

Tommy was also great as usual but that I'm already used to - his face is really expressive too, it just adds even more emotion to each scene. He just knows how to entertain his audience

In conclusion: this season has been super interesting so far and I can't wait to see how Timmy's exile will go, it will probably be chaotic as heck

I want to do some random details I noticed in chapters 18 and 19 for stars because I think I’ve talked about everything I want to analyze, yet there are a lot of small things I just want to point out.

Detail 1: Jack wanted to wait for Wilbur when he was getting drunk with Quackity even though his shift ended and he had to be told to go to bed. (bonus he wanted to come in with them in ch 17) Jack really cares for Wilbur. Like he takes this friendship thing seriously. He understands the meaning behind the personal name and probably knows that Wilbur hasn’t given that to anyone else. He doesn’t want to loose that.

Also, I don’t know if Jack has friends, cuz I don’t know how long he has been working there. Also, from what I understand very few people like Jack’s bluntness. (the important guest at least), but that is just a part of who he is and Wilbur even seems to appreciate that bluntness (because it reminds him of Niki).

Detail 2: When Techno brings in drunk Wilbur and Tommy wakes up, the first thing he does is assume that Techno did something to Wilbur. Well technically that’s after Wilbur just slumps into him because it’s so different from how he’s been acting and he’s clearly out of it and Tommy knows his brother well enough to know that he’s sad.

What this tells me is that some of the paranoia Wilbur tried to talk into him is still there. Tommy doesn’t trust them, at least not entirely. There’s and order of trust and it goes Aimsey, Ranboo, Techno, Phil. (yes I’m not placing Wilbur on there because we can all agree Wilbur can’t be trusted, least of all with his own wellbeing).

Detail 3: All the questions Wilbur thinks of before asking Tommy for a hug. There’s so much in there. Like it really is the set up to the last chapter before he breaks and there are so many indicators that he’s not okay. He has fallen so far. I wanted to say which one hurt the most, but reading them back? Yeah all of them hurt.

Every conflict is in there. The divide between the brothers. Wilbur’s non-existent self-word and the realisation that he’ll never be good enough somewhere in his subconscious. Does Tommy hate him? Does he still care? Does he know Wilbur still cares when all Wilbur has done lately is hurt him? Like he tells Ranboo he’s just doing what he thinks he has too, but he’s never told Tommy that or tried to explain it.

yesss jack my beloved <3 he takes his job as wilbur's guard seriously now that wilbur has entrusted him with actual, genuine friendship. jack does have friends of his own within the guard, but he's not particularly close with any of them. plus, he's been wilbur's guard since he first got on the planet, he knows how much it means for wilbur to put that kind of trust in him and he doesn't intend on squandering it. more than anything, jack wants to be seen by others, and wilbur validating their friendship and giving him permission to use his personal name was wilbur telling jack he sees him as a person and not just a faceless guard. and that just meant a lot to jack.

yeah your order of trust is pretty accurate. tommy does trust techno way more than he trusts phil, but the paranoia is ingrained into him just a bit even if it's not obvious. so yeah, his first assumption when he's half-asleep and sees techno carried a half-unconscious wilbur into his room is that techno might've done something to him, especially since techno and wilbur haven't had the best interactions in the past (at least where tommy can see them)

the questions he asks himself :( wilbur was at his most honest with himself when he was drunk out of his mind, finally admitting so many of his insecurities regarding his relationship with his brother. I knew what I was doing when I wrote those lol

Ahh, I appreciate the clarification- though to add on to that point, at a certain moment in time it’s ascertained that c!Wilbur resented Tommy for not dying with him: “You didn’t have the balls to follow along with me”. This was not c!Wilbur especially putting on a show for and/or lying to Tommy either, because this was Wilbur lashing out at Tommy as they have their spat. There’s also the aspect of L’manburg not being solely his- Wilbur very explicitly wanted to ruin something everyone cared about, symbolically destroying them all as well.

So yeah, I would disagree with you on that part. C!Wilbur can be rather selfish and self-centered (thinking he’s either the protagonist or the villain of a story feeds into this). When it came to his self-loathing it extended to everyone around him as well, and he very much wanted what he did to hurt them even as he felt he was doing them a service.

i fully agree with you, literally everything you said is correct and accurate. to me, cwilbur is equally as selfish as he is selfless. it’s part of what makes his character so contradictory and difficult to define. in fact even his perceived selflessness was inherently selfish in nature. he wanted to die because he saw that as the only way to truly save his friends and family, and yet he was very willing to drag them all into it. to the point he nearly pressed the button with tommy and quackity standing right there. he knew if he tried to kill himself then, that it would also kill tommy and q, and he ultimately couldn’t live with that, couldn’t die with that. he dragged himself and his loved ones to the edge but he couldn’t bear to jump, not with tommy clinging to his shoulders. there was a darker part of his delusion that wanted to beg tommy to die with him, to go down together as brothers who founded and fell with the decay of their nation, their home, their brotherhood. but he couldn’t, because he has and always will see tommy as the penultimate good, the sun rising over the darkness.
