Please with a cherry on top 🍒💕 tell us all about your little aus you have for bucktommy.
Especially the season 1 divergence 💛
surely i will!!!! this got very long btw so i'm putting it under a read more but the aus i mentioned in the tags of this post are
model au
college au
neighbor au
canon divergence s1 meeting
okay here you go:
model au: this is the one that sparked that entire post bc i saw those two photos and went "wait....." anyway. buck and tommy meet on a shoot and buck is immediately reduced to a giggly, blushing mess. he's new to the modelling industry but so ridiculously pretty he's already getting booked left and right. tommy's been in the game for a while, and he's so comfortable in his skin in front of the camera that it has buck watching him in awe. a bts video of a shoot they did together blows up on twitter, people talking about their chemistry, how hot they are together, and it gets people talking. buck is terribly, terribly embarrassed, worried tommy's gonna realize buck's got a huge crush on him, but then tommy doesn't mind at all, and is actually really, really on board with buck's feelings if the hickeys the makeup department have to cover the next time he's in front of a camera are anything to go by
(also, buck discovering he loves being behind the camera and getting every candid of his boyfriend possible. the professional, smoldering, glamour shots are nice, yeah, but the one of tommy smiling when he realizes buck's been taking pictures of him? those are his favorites.)
college au: listen, i know hs/college au's aren't for everyone but i love them. the frat parties, the "we kissed the day before christmas break and now i don't know how you feel because we're not talking and i can't just show up at your dorm" angst, their friends pestering them about the obvious feelings they have for each other. come on!!! buck and tommy are both freshman though tommy's a bit older because he took some time between high school and college to get a job so he could pay for his school. buck thinks tommy doesn't like him very much but tommy's kind of in love with the guy, but the way he shows his affection and his teasing attempts at flirting are clearly not getting the message across. so he kisses him in the front lawn of a frat house during a party because obviously they're in frats and buck doesn't get it, thinks tommy's doing it because he found out buck likes him and is making fun of him, and tommy doesn't even let him finish angrily confessing his feelings before he's tackling him onto the lawn and kissing him stupid.
neighbor au: they both work odd hours. tommy's still a firefighter but buck's a nurse and they've seen each other a few times on the job, enough that buck's coworkers always let him know when the hot firefighter came by, but they have no idea they're neighbors because their hours just never. line. up. until one day buck's sick to the point not even he can justify going to work and tommy's got his day off and they run into each other in the hallway of their apartment complex when buck goes out to get his door dash. he is immediately horrendously embarrassed because ohmygod the hot firefighter knows what i look like in spongebob pajama pants. tommy doesn't mind though, clearly, because a few hours later he's knocking on buck's door and handing over a tupperware of homemade cookies. tommy doesn't stick around very long because buck is clearly super tired, but when buck opens the lid there's a note with tommy's number and a 'next time we have off on the same day, you wanna grab coffee?' the smiley face is lopsided and uneven but it makes the biggest grin appear on buck's face
(also, they have dogs in the selfies i used in that post and i like to think their dogs are also dating thanks)
canon divergence: oh man i LOVE canon divergence in general, but s1 bucktommy would go so hard. like au where tommy doesn't leave the 118 so he's there for buck's probie year? incredible. tommy, for starters, wouldn't be able to stand buck 1.0 and buck, like the oblivious bisexual he is, wouldn't understand why he cares so much. slowly, buck starts trying to get his attention. talking to him, getting to know him. tommy's still in the closet and trying to keep from losing his mind because the pretty playboy who sleeps around is suddenly no longer hooking up with women in favor of trying to get to know him. tommy knows he should tell buck to stop because there's no way this won't end with his heart broken (who hasn't fallen for a straight person and cried to sad ballads about it? queer culture), but buck is actually sweet and he's not funny because his jokes are terrible but he makes him laugh and tommy's determined to introduce him to all the best, classic romcoms (the man's favorite movie is love, actually, c'mon). the more time they spend together the less buck goes out, and after a long shift, sitting on the floor of tommy's living room eating pizza, when tommy starts leaning in, buck doesn't think twice before closing the distance. tommy pulls back, asks if he's sure, if this is okay, and buck, who hasn't had sex since he realized he wanted tommy in a big, bad, really really gay way, kisses him breathless.
tommy doesn't want to pressure buck, doesn't want to move too fast because he really, really likes him. buck is annoyingly charmed by it because he's never had a meaningful relationship and as weird as it is to want that with a guy he really does want it with tommy (but he also obviously takes it as a challenge to see how far he can push his boyfriend's buttons before he bends him over the back of the couch).
okay yeah these are my bucktommy au ideas i love them very bad thanks mwah!!!

I see a lot of people on Tiktok get mad at Lyney and Lynette for supposedly not having a super close relationship to Freminet, but like..
I feel like they do have a close relationship to him. I've never seen them actively try to ignore or shut out Freminet like some Tiktok Freminet fans would make you believe.
People forget that Lyney and Lynette are TWINS. Blood-related twins. And they're also bonded by trauma on top of that. Them being closer to each other than with Freminet would be a given. They've experienced the horrors and joys of the world together, and met Freminet during that journey. Their relationship with eachother would always be different than what their relationship with Freminet would be like. But that doesn't mean they don't care about Freminet, either:
Just by looking at their voiceovers, implications in character stories, and how they interact in official videos.. they do care A LOT about Freminet. Is it the same level of constant and consistent checking-in that two traumatized twins do? No! But that doesn't mean Freminet is unloved! And a good way to see that is just by looking at Freminets opinions on them.
Tumblr media
These are his opinions about Lyney.
Lyney shows Freminet every single new card trick he comes up with, the second Freminet cracks the smallest smile, Lyney knows his tricks are going to be great. Lyney is happy that he could make Freminet actually feel joy! Lyney also goes out of his way to go to Freminet, and show him new material he's working on. If he didn't care about Freminet, why would he even bother trying to get his opinions, or trying to make him smile?
And the second one, about Lyneys mask. Freminet is a character that hardly speaks his own mind because he doesn't like the awkwardness that comes from it (teapot conversations prove that), but he's clearly comfortable enough around Lyney that he was able to walk up and try having this conversation with him, despite knowing it likely wouldn't end well. If him and Lyney had a dirt poor relationship, Freminet likely would've never tried to initiate the conversation in the first place.
Tumblr media
This is his opinion about Lynette.
He does say something about how Lyney and Lynette always work better and smoother with eachother, and that he can't do the same. But Lynette tries to cheer him up when he's down on himself. She tries to tell him that everyone has their own strengths, and that this doesn't mean anything regarding his usefulness, especially with his skills in machinery that nobody else in the orphanage has. Lynette does care about him!
Tumblr media
(the part that cut off would be this: "Here, have mine too." Said Lynette as she filled his cup with tea, "We're family.")
And this is from Freminets character stories.
Freminet expresses obvious doubt of his place there. Lyney and Lynette are two siblings who practically can read each other's minds, they always know how to speak and interact with eachother, and it'd obviously bother Freminet, who's self-worth is already incredibly low, on how he thinks he'd just be an extra part left to waste in comparison to the two.
But Lyney and Lynette both go right in with including him. Lyney gives him and Pers a crucial role in their plans, and Lynette offers him her food and more tea, while straight up telling him that they're family now. If they didn't have any interest in trying to treat Freminet like family, they both could've easily let him fall into the role of just an extra piece in the corner to call upon when needed, but they didn't.
And. To add on!
Lyneys video:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
---
Lynettes video:
Tumblr media
--
Freminets Video:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The three of them all cameo in eachothers videos, Lyney and Lynette both do rehearsals in front of Freminet and regularly ask him for opinions, and Freminet wants Pers to be part of their show!!
Stop saying Lyney and Lynette don't like Freminet, Tiktok!!

I find it fascinating to witness the straight audience of any media not being able to pick up what the makers of the movie/show puts down.
It’s like when people reacted to the “You wear fine things well” scene in Our Flag Means Death with “aw, they’re such good friends” whereas the queer audience went “omg, this is happening”. We all had access to the same scene, we’d all watched the build up to that scene but the straight audience wrongly read it as friends/straight whereas the queer audience had suspected they were building up to a romance but this was the confirmation. Even the creator of the show was baffled that people were surprised that Ed and Stede fell in love. Because he thought they had made it obvious.
And as I said, we, the queer audience picked up on it. And I feel like the same thing is happening with Ted Lasso. Do I know that Ted and Trent will get together? No, I am unfortunately not a writer on Ted Lasso. But you can’t deny that there are clues pointing to it. But the straight audience barely pick up the fact that Ted and Trent like each other, be that in a platonic way or romantic way. I’ve seen several reactions to the last episode of season 2 and ONE of them included the scene where Ted reacts to Trent not being in the press room. All of them severely cut down the scene in the parking lot. One of the scenes most of us Ted/Trent truthers point to as a huge piece of evidence for it going canon. The parallel of them meeting in an empty parking lot, just like Ted and his ex-wife and Roy and Keeley. But because Ted and Trent are both men it couldn’t possibly mean anything. And Ted has an ex-wife and a kid so he can’t possibly be into men, as if there is no such thing as being bisexual. “But I’m pretty sure Trent has a family, he has a kid right?” So? He could be divorced, we also have no idea if his daughter has another dad or a mum. And the same thing applies to him, it doesn’t mean he can’t be into men (take also into account all of James Lance’s interviews, and his choice of shirt in one of them, friend of Dorothy anyone? He's the captain of this ship, we're just along for the ride tbh.)
Then we have the wonderful “I’m so not homophobic, in fact, you are homophobic because you think Ted is gay just because he likes musicals and has ‘feminine’ traits” um no… it’s the fact that he kind of acts in a way that an ally wouldn't. Yeah, he called himself an ally in that one episode. But every single person who is now out as queer who at one point considered themselves an ally because "I’m not one of them but I sure think they're neat" raise a hand 🖐️ (been there, done that. Was very into queer things before I realised I myself am one of them). What it always comes down to is "it's pandering", "it's tokenism" (having the main character on the show be queer wouldn't be fucking tokenism), "not everything has to be gay", "why can't men just be friends, there is a severe lack of male friendships on tv". And like the last one makes me go??? There are a MILLION friendships between men on TV. There are even multiple friendships between men in Ted Lasso. Beard and Ted, Ted and Higgins, Ted and Roy, the himbos and so on. Having Ted and Trent become a couple wouldn't really change anything because there are still friendships between men. They also claim that Ted is needed as the "straight without toxic masculinity" representation. As if Beard isn't right there. The man who has no problem going to an immersive show about the menstrual cycle. Has no problem with shrieking when he's surprised and so on.
I also like that if we'd get Ted and Trent together, we'd get two middle aged queer dads. Which isn't that common. It's not even super common to see people realising they're queer late in life on TV, and yet it happens every day. Because let's face it, most queer men on TV kind of look like Colin, and I don't mean that as a bad thing. And I'm looking forward to his storyline. But it's also nice seeing middle aged or old people finding themselves and being allowed to be who they are (see Ed and Stede from OFMD). Also would enjoy seeing people lose their minds when they realise they've been fooled this entire time. It'll be like Black Sails all over again.
I do not have any doubts about the fact that, had Trent or Ted been a woman and they saw Trent give up his career because of Ted's influence, they sure as hell wouldn't protest people thinking they'd become a couple. But because it's two men it's just delusional for some reason (homophobia).
What I'm saying is, it's clear that the straight audience has a hard time picking up subtext and clues that the makers are planting. Because they've never had to do that. Because they are always clearly represented. They don't have to look for minor side characters and hope that they might be queer. Because the main character is straight and most of the supporting cast too. When you've grown up with a lack of representation or with representation that is meant to be subtext, you'll learn to pick up on it. And you do look at media differently. I just wish that the straight audience could listen to us for once, without getting defensive and dancing around the fact that they are uncomfortable relating to a character that turned out to be queer.

This video on 'Bella Swan's khaki skirt' made me laugh so much I've decided to try and read the Midnight Sun, something I've been avoiding in my security that no important information is to be gained there. I almost gave up at the beginning because Edward's narration is incredibly tedious and dramatic and annoying to me. He isn't just talking to himself at all times, but actually painting a picture for the reader, explaining in detail how every single event in his life is torture and suffering and absolute hell on earth, but also how he is in every way superior to every human being around him. Even as a female fantasy of a male, this is very shallow and immature.
However, there's some new information I found very interesting; namely about Alice. While Edward is being a little drama queen and agonizing over whether he kills Bella, Alice has a vision where she and Bella are friends. Actually, Edward uses the term 'girlfriends' which had me jumping up in shock and laughter. Bella and Alice, girlfriends? And he's like 'but would she like a vampire girlfriend' YES SHE WOULD EDWARD. It's what we all want. god you're exhausting.
So anyway, instead of being annoying about it, Alice exclaims that she loves Bella, like, way sooner into the book than Edward even considers it, and then every day she's trying to get Edward's permission to talk to Bella, which he denies her, and she repeats how much she already loves Bella. She also stands up for Bella every time Edward is doubting her, so even far before she even talks to Bella, she's Bella's strongest advocate! She's the only one truly in Bella's corner this entire time.
Now I'm having much clearer idea of why Alice and Bella should have ended up together, they would have been amazing. If there is no fanfic out there of this extended story I'm tempted to write it.
I also now realize how the twilight world is painted in an almost completely black and white values for all of the characters. Nearly all of the classmates Bella has are described as extremely shallow, self-obsessed, selfish, unobservant and vulgar, with exception of Angela. Edward is also exactly like that but he considers himself superior. All female characters who are not Bella or Angela act and think identically, react identically and have thoughts that are almost completely the same (swoon over Edward). All of the males are pretty much predators, Edward included.
However, the main characters are supposed to be seen as morally superior, different, special, better than anyone else, even when they're 100% not any of that, it's just a feel-good fantasy! They're just as shallow and self-centered, and soon engage in a vast manipulation of everyone around them.
But it is entertaining to be put in such a simple world, where everyone's thoughts and motives are super obvious and you can easily distinguish yourself as 'not like everyone else' just by being normal. We're meant to see ourselves in Bella and get that feeling that we should be rewarded for our normal thoughts, normal values and goals, because hey, everyone else is so much worse. It kinda makes me laugh now, because I didn't realize it as a kid, how much of a setup the entire town of Forks is.
Anyway, I have to finish this book, because it does make you want to read on even when you're incredibly annoyed and exhausted by the narrator.

I feel like the reason so much content of the Batkids is so ooc and unrealistic and if i'm being mean straight up corny in a bad way is that the fandom dosen't understand the particular type of siblings they are.I don't mean adoptive since they're not normal adoptive siblings-in the sense that they weren't all raised together under the same roof by the same parent(s)-but found siblings, which is a very important distinction when it comes to potrayals.I'm not gonna go into detail so i don't make anyone uncomfortable and it would derail my points anyway but i'm like them in the sense that i have a shit ton of trauma that nobody else understood or sympathized with until my friends who i now see as my siblings in addition to my biological ones came along and also like them,we're not all the same age so that effects our relathionships with eachother. To elaborate by using the Batkids as examples since this post is about them:
Dick has gotten the 'Ultra Responsible Perfect Eldest SiblingTM' and 'Adult who's so goofy and sweet they're literally mentally a child/teen who can't do anything by themself' roles shoved onto him equally popularly by different sections of the fandom and yet somehow also some of the same ones.As someone who has a pretty similar position to him with his own found younger siblings, neither of those are accurate At All.He does his best to be a positive influence on the other Batkids and someone who they can turn to when they have problems but also dosen't treat them like they're his students or something rather than his family and joins in on their silly shenanigans and encourages them to do dumb kid shit because he knows they deserve to act their age and that's what a good eldest sibling is.Not an 'i'm so much better than you' robot or a manchild but someone who you can both look to for help and who's your friend .Him and the others for that matter deserve nothing else.Related to that, please erase the idea that he can't both an older sibling and a parental figure-One of my younger friend's literally calls me 'Mom' and 'Dad'.They can and do co-exist.Also this leads to accidentally treating them as younger than they are and he gets mixed reviews /lh
Jason's the edgy mean one yeah yeah but trust me,that does not mean any of the Batkids don't bully him or know they're cooler than him.In fact, that's the exact reason they do!This especially applies to Cass because trust me,they're NOT big bro and soft uwu sis-They're basically the dynamic fanon gives Jason and Tim only Cass is Jason and Jason is Tim.SHE'S the super cool goth big sibling, not him.And speaking of Jason, him and Duke are peak of playing favorites with eachother. They do everything together and share their stuff with eachother without needing to be asked and get up to weirdest shit in the middle of the night when they're low on sleep. You know that pic of a guy hacking a computer hunched over while his friend stands on his back and is on the phone?Actual Red Hood and The Signal sighting at the library at 2 in the morning(Not clickbait)
I assure you none of Tim's siblings other than Jason and Damian were ever out to get him and if they were,he would've confronted them about it like two decades ago because he has about as much tolerance for that kinda treatment as he has lack of rizz(Read:None). It's very obvious they all love him and vice versa and i'd go as far as to call it toxic and harmful to irl siblings regardless of blood relation to erase something so important to his healing from his earlier childhood trauma.I get that y'all love drama but you can't write it so maybe try parodies, your style is hilariously bad enough to fit them. Also:They definitely tease him for his stereotypical (half) white boy tastes and he plays along with it because well, what kind of detective would he be if he denied truth with proof? The awnser is a cop btw
Damian is their whole world.I love my younger found siblings so much and i'm always complimenting them and coming up with the dumbest shit to make them laugh and indulging them in their interests-Speaking of which, seeing as all the Batkids are autistic-coded and me and almost all my friends are too, they definitely all have special interests that're mostly different from eachother's but they're's always overlap and even if they don't,THEY WILL MAKE THEM.Also once again if anybody is getting jokes of how much they wanna kick his ass,it's not him but Jason.Taste of your medicine and all that
And they definitely see Stephanie as part of them and show it to her-Dosen't matter that she's not adopted by Bruce, they're vigilantes so they play by their own rules and Stephanie RULES.Oh and with the exception of formely Tim and forever Cass because they're literal soulmates by choice, none of them would ever want their relathionships with her to ever be seen in even the slightest romantic light and find the thought actively disturbing.Like dude......That's our sister, please take your leave and don't come back(Also as far as Dick is concerned, she's a literal toddler and Slade is his archenemesis for a reason)
Last thing-They definitely have a group chat because yes, that's an actual thing among siblings but it is a MESS.You know all those twitter aus of them?Yeah they don't post that shit in public ever in their life but catch them sending all that and more in The Batnest(Duke picked the name.He thinks he's a comedic genius and he's right)

WIP Wednesday
I was tagged by @dear-massacre and @definitively-different-drivel. Thank you!
This is a long snippet, but I couldn’t bear to cut it and I decided to be nice and pick up right after last week’s, since everyone was so interested in what idea Stiles had that was gonna make Derek yell.
~
Derek is beginning to worry about just how certain Stiles must be that he's going to yell. He's following his Jeep and they're deep in the preserve. Even a werewolf wouldn't be able to hear them from the outskirts of town.
"Stiles, what are we doing out here," Derek growls when he gets out of his car.
"Well, like I said, you're going to yell and growl. There's also the fact that, if we're seen together in town my dad will find out and use it as an excuse to flip from barely acknowledging I exist to being super strict lest my delinquency damage his image of benevolent widowed sheriff and father."
Stiles' voice is flippant and sarcastic, but it carries a bitter undertone. It sounds like the sheriff's parenting hasn't improved since the days he was leaving Stiles at the hospital. Derek doesn't think Stiles would be happy if he knew Derek could tell he's in pain, so he doesn't mention it.
"OK, what is this idea that makes you so certain I'm going to yell that you brought me all the way out here," Derek asks instead of commenting on what Stiles just revealed about his father.
Stiles gives him a grateful look before taking a deep breath. He looks nervous. Derek is increasingly convinced that he's going to hate whatever is going to come out of the boy's mouth next.
"I need to join your pack," Stiles spits out.
That isn't so bad. Unusual, given how short a time they've known each other, but with extenuating circumstances it might make sense. His wolf definitely likes the idea. Likes it a lot.
"As your mate," Stiles continues, leaving Derek speechless.
"And Peter's, once he's awake," Stiles spits out.
Derek finds his voice. "Absolutely not, are you insane?!"
"Possibly," Stiles answers, "but not about this. You and I both know just adding a human pack member won't be enough of a bond, even if I have been visiting him for years."
"That doesn't mean the solution is for you to become our mate!"
Derek is willing to concede Stiles made the right call in waiting to propose this crazy plan until they were out of earshot of other people.
"It doesn't even work like that," he tells Stiles. "You can't just become someone's mate because it's easy or might solve a problem. There's more to it than that."
Stiles is giving him a very intense look. Derek isn't sure why, but he ends up crossing his arms over his chest to keep from squirming. Hopefully that isn't obvious and he just looks stern. Stiles opens his mouth and Derek just knows he's going to hate what comes out of it next.
"It would work," Stiles says. "I can see your bond with Peter and I know there's the possibility for one with me."
Derek can't stop himself from taking a step back. He fists his hands at his sides. He's never had this conversation with anyone, not even Peter. He doesn't want to have it with a teenager he's known less than a day.
"Peter and and I aren't bonded," he says, hating how small his voice comes out. He's had years to get past this.
He can feel Stiles staring at him, but he can't meet his eyes. He isn't sure what he would see if he did.
"You are," Stiles says. "That's why your rope in Peter's aura is silver, not gold. You have the same ones in your aura."
Stiles' voice is matter of fact, but Derek still gets the sense he's being gentle with him. He both hates the idea and is grateful. Mostly, he's reeling from what Stiles just said.
"We can't be bonded," Derek says. "Peter—he was sleeping with one of the hunters who burned down the house. How could he have done that if we were actually bonded?"

What are your thoughts on lusopp? (Luffy x Usopp)
i just woke up so if my words are all over the place that's probably why! being productive right here! waking up early! somebody shoot me! fighting the urge to go back to sleep so i can reply to your silly lil awesome questions! i need a coffee.
AND!!! I REALLY LIKE THE SHIP!!! (just saw you're on impel down so i won't spoil anything!)
i mean, it's not my favorite ship and i'm not crazy about it like, idk, my fiancé is crazy about them (but again, she's crazy about zosan and lawlu and i'm not so we have to deal with each other's bullshit all the time). but i find their relationship really, really interesting and complex and cool to explore. i was just writing a fic about them being besties and super clingy, gonna cry. baby boys.
i personally see them more as just best friends, but hey! if there are cute fanarts and content i'm not going to scroll away!! it's a good and cute ship!!! they're bffs almost instantly and usopp's intelligence really disappears when he's with luffy which is, not only hilarious but extremely refreshing to see. let the anxious boy be dumb and reckless!! they're so chaotic!!
not to mention that it's not only their dynamic that makes them good, but the whole water 7/enies lobby thing. i fear that if i talk about this much i might start sobbing. but, like,,, their fight is the first time we see luffy actively cry on screen. we see luffy losing control of his crew, something he used to have control over. we see luffy lost and act impulsively and not knowing what to do because his best friend and sniper is about to go away and his heart fucking breaks into a million little pieces. because luffy sees usopp's potential and he wants him with the crew, but he can't do anything to help if usopp doesn't believe in himself. and also, the merry, which is another thing luffy loses control over and has to act like a logical captain about it but we all know it's heartbreaking for him too. and then there's usopp, who feels inferior and not worthy of being part of this amazing crew. even though he has shown over and over again to be part of this little family. he just feels like he doesn't belong here. and, you know, he says he's angry because of the merry but we all know the fight isn't about that.
so, we all agree that water 7 is very very peak lusopp (and sanuso, but tbf it's just peak usopp in general because he has great scenes with everyone. especially the monster trio, shout out to my boy zoro), and then enies lobby is when they make up and it's beautiful and heartbreaking and the way usopp yells at luffy to stand up and fight makes me want to curl up on the floor and sob for ages and ages and ag-
and i would go into detail about luffy's character but i don't want to spoil anything, so let's just focus on usopp here:
lusopp's dynamic works well both as a friendship and as a ship, mainly because they're both on the same page when it comes to silly shenanigans. we see them actively enjoying being with each other and doing stupid things together and that's just,,, so sweet. but also, usopp is one of those people that have to ground luffy sometimes and tell him "fuck, no. haha. we're so not doing that" because despite acting silly, he's pretty much more logical and rational than luffy is. but, you know, the reason he's like that most of the time is because he's scared of fucking dying (which i understand. i'd be scared too in that crew. i'm glad nami is always agreeing with him with these things), and he has to be the one to stop luffy (try to, at least. never really works) from doing extremely dangerous things. which is both hilarious and actually pretty cute to watch because it shows us how well usopp knows luffy. it's obvious that they're best friends. dude knows what luffy is going to do minutes before luffy even thinks about doing it. and luffy really, really admires and loves usopp's abilities and strengths and brains. all the things usopp is insecure about? luffy loves them!!!
and, you know, it's a good ship because they have that sort of bff energy, but if you make it romantic and angsty and more intimate? that's just better! i feel like their ship is just- those friendships that turn into romantic relationships but their dynamic doesn't really change at the end of the day? and i find that really endearing.
luffy makes usopp see the best in himself and makes him want to improve as a pirate to follow his dream and feel like he belongs in the crew. usopp makes luffy be a bit more grounded to reality whenever he needs to, and he was the first one to make luffy realize that, well, fuck, he's the captain of a ship and he needs to be responsible and make harsh decisions.
but now that they're together again, luffy is sooo not going to let him go ever again. and usopp will never try to do so because he just wants to keep fighting for him!!!
it's such an endearing and funny and angsty ship. i think i just don't really ship them much because i'm more of a sanuso/zolu kind of person. but at this point just make it poly and everybody is happy (except nami bc she has to deal with the 4 of them being in love and that would be extremely tiring. somebody bring back vivi for her PLEASE).
but yeah, cute ship. not my favorite but awesome to explore and tbh one of my favorite friendships in this show. very underrated but that's just bc usopp is underrated af and it makes my blood boil with anger and the fury of hell itself. that's for another day, though!

Thoughts on Dhan Rana (S1 E5)
One thing I LOVE about Found is that everybody starts out as kind of a broad archetype of a character, and each one has been slowly getting deconstructed with each episode. We also learn more and more about relationship dynamics with each episode. We're only on episode 5 and we've already learned so much.
TL;DR: Dhan is a wonderful character who kind of surprised me. I didn't expect to love him as much as I do. I like that Gabi and Margaret are super protective of him, and in turn, he's fiercely protective of them. I'm excited to see his character grow. I also don't really like his relationship with his husband from the little bit we've seen. It's just not sitting right with me.
More detailed thoughts below the cut.
In THIS episode we learned that baby boy CANNOT be alone. He doesn't do well. It's connected to his trauma from being held captive for 3 years. Which is such a long fucking time and I think the longest kidnapping situation we've seen from the group thus far (I don't think we don't know how long Zeke was gone, yet...please correct me if we do).
In a passing conversation around episode one or two, his husband was revealed to be a therapist (whether his husband was HIS therapist or just so happened to be a therapist is unclear, but I still have my reservations). His husband mentioned that Dhan should give Zeke grace, because Dhan was in a similar position to Zeke not too long ago. He also added that they "worked on it" together. Again, idk if his husband was HIS therapist, or if he meant they worked on it as a couple.
We've only seen Dhan's husband once, and Dhan speaks fondly of him on the rare occasion that he's mentioned. But...I think the one thing that kind of stuck out to me is how much he can't quite function without his husband in the house. Like at all. He can't sleep, he doesn't groom himself, he doesn't dress himself (not really). It took all of one day (presumably) for Dhan to unravel in his husband's absence. The team also pointed out that this happens OFTEN every time his husband leaves. If Dhan's husband is a therapist, it's just odd to me that there were no safeguards in place when there's probably a strong understanding that being alone is triggering for him. It gives me this vibe that Dhan's recovery is wholly reliant on codependency with his husband. It also proves that though Dhan may have worked on his recovery with his husband...I don't think he worked on it alone. Which is SUPER important.
I'm gonna put my shipper goggles away for like 5 seconds but I feel like Dhan is beginning to learn a lot from Zeke. More than he realized he would. On some level, I think he's beginning to understand that even though he's not necessarily in the same place he was before, mentally and emotionally, he still has a LOT of work to do. And I like that he and Zeke have found companionship over it, because they're both on different paths of recovery but still fully understand what the other person is going through.
Another thing that stuck out to me is how protective Gabi is of Dhan. I've said it before, but Dhan is clearly her ride of die. I still have the belief that he knows Hugh is in that basement. But it became even more obvious when she rushed to hug Dhan and check his injuries after the fight with Manny in the kitchen where he was almost shot. Both Margaret and Gabi seem super protective of Dhan. It makes me wonder what he was like when they first met him.
Anyway Dhan is a wonderfully written character. I like that it didn't take 3 seasons for us to finally see the sarcastic, cool guy character show GENUINE FEAR, anxiety, and vulnerability.

I’m banging my fists against a table, I demand to know! I can’t live without no longer!
I need to know what more ideas you have for the Nightmare before Christmas thing. Like, where is Santa? Does the headmaster just, has access to a torture room and a dungeon? Why is it Halloween themed, besides the obvious, I mean more like why in the context of that world.
Do they study the darkest arts and more forbidden crafts, or are they a normal college?
Who let a bug in human skin suit be the headmaster? WHO??
Do they kidnap people on the regular or was it just that time with the NRC gang?
Oookay! (rubs hands together)
Santa I'm honestly not too sure about, since Christmas seems nonexistent in TWST but we'll dip our toe a bit into that later
Headmage Ivory Roach is an unhinged bastard and has mad scientist vibes so...yeah, under the school is his fear dungeon where he mostly hones his magic and does Headmage things, until the plot hits, that is.
Hallow University was initially named because of its dark and spooky-looking aesthetic, BUT they were the first school to really lean into the Halloween celebration and make it the popular school activity it is today (heck we could probably even say Hallow U was the creator behind Halloween traditions in TWST if we make the school super old)
Hallow U dabbles in pretty usual classes like history, potions, etc, but I'd say most of their magical talent would lie in void magic and maybe even illusions since they've always been the Spooky School and they put ALL their work into their Halloween celebrations
Let's be real, if the school board let CROWLEY be the headmage of NRC, it's not too big a stretch to think Ivory Roach managed to snag the job
And if you look at my initial post again, yes, NRC WAS a one-time thing for the kidnapping. Hallow U used to be THE place to go on Halloween. But for whatever reason, they don't have what NRC has an abundance of: Ghosts. So once that started, NRC basically stole all the clout from HU and they're slowly being forgotten. (That and I'm debating Ivory Roach having some kind of beef with Crowley). So the plan: kidnap and murder the best students at NRC and make their rep plummet for revenge cause we're gonna drag you down into obscurity with us. That makes it all the more important when Jack Kingsley becomes Headmage and decides on the Christmas angle (either on his own or Disney Yuu would plant the idea in his head) to spice the holiday up and create a unique experience that would bring back their popularity, like how the Haunted Mansion gets its Nightmare Before Christmas makeover every year. I know that kinda clashes with what I said above about Christmas not existing but the basic gist is 'Halloween is spooky, so what if we took spooky and also made it more bright and wacky by combining it with happy imagery?' aka Christmas without being Christmas
Anyway, I hope that cleared some things up!

you ripped off your entire "theory" about LO being made for kids from Pyrrhic Victoria's latest video lol. Word for word, that's pretty hypocritical but then I guess that's to be expected from the person who still financially supports Webtoon and LO even though you've based your entire image off how much you supposedly hate LO
Tumblr media
if I "ripped off" P&V then this is news to me because I've only watched each one of their videos once (they're long and they cover a SHITLOAD of topics, bruh) and it's been ages, BUT-
This honestly makes for a great segue to talk about opinion sharing in the fandom in general because ima be honest with you, there's like... only so much you can talk about in the LO crit community. Like as much as we make fun of the stans for all sharing one echo chamber of opinions, the ULO community isn't that much different in the sense of like, having the same takes and opinions about the topic we've chosen to unite on and being hyper passionate about it to the point of having the same conversations at least ONCE per week. Like it's just a webcomic about pink and blue people, a lot of takes are pretty much the exact same and that's not a BAD thing but ... both P&V and I have been in the ULO stratosphere for AGES now so ?? There's only SO MUCH to cover about LO before it all starts blurring together lmao I can't "own" an opinion, and they undoubtedly know that they can't "own" any one specific opinion either, especially within a fandom like this. C'mon now.
"LO is made for babies" or "LO is marketed to children" is also one of the way more common takes, that's like saying I'm ripping off panel redraw accounts for doing my own panel redraws. LO's been compared to other things that are commonly marketed to children like MCU films, Disney movies/shows, etc. time and time again because that's been SUPER common knowledge for YEARS now prior to any of us joining the community, regardless of "who joined first", it's literally WT's entire business model and it's pretty plainly obvious. The specific comparison I made was just one that came to me during a ramble on stream the other night and I wanted to put it to paper because that's what I do here. If that specific comparison has been made in the past already in a 3 hour video that I completely forgot/didn't realize, then great! I'm not the only one who came to this conclusion! Thanks for the validation!
Tumblr media
None of this is with shade at P&V or even you, btw, I think it's honorable you want to stand up for them if you enjoy their stuff and I can't harp on you for that but like... this ain't it? Y'all gotta understand this community is still HELLA small as far as fandom culture goes, we all know everybody, have helped build these parts of the community together from cardboard and glue whether or not we still directly affiliate with each other, and share many of the same takes and schools of thought that stem back YEARS before even WE were in the community ourselves so it's kinda silly to try and point fingers at any one person and say "abc is ripping off xyz!" esp when the "ripping off" is just like, having the same opinion about something? A lot of both our takes also intersect with takes from other antiLO accounts and channels that pre-existed theirs and my own. It's a fandom, after all, no single person can lay claim to any specific opinion we're all coming from many of the same schools of thought with foundations that pre-exist us, it's just different people delivering their own unique spins on takes that have been heard many times before. Some of us do re-imaginings, some of us do panel edits, some of us just crack great jokes about it. We're not all pals with each other, we're not even all from the same platforms or community bubbles, but I think we're all pretty familiar with each other's content and what each one of us is about for the most part.
Tumblr media
I know you're likely not gonna take "trust me" as a promise that I'm not ripping anyone off, but like... trust me, I'm not sitting here sifting through P&V's 15+ hour video backlog and going "huehuehue I'm gonna steal this!" because I would gain nothing from doing that and their content is ultimately just part of a bigger genre of topics and opinions that are constantly being re-assessed and re-discussed as the comic goes on, they were just the first ones to make an ongoing Youtube series about it (which is commendable in and of itself with how much content they've made around it, most other Youtubers just review it once in 20-90 minutes and call it a day).
P&V's contributions to these discussions have their own personal unique flair to them but the opinions themselves aren't all brand new revelations. Back when I still watched their videos, their alternate scenarios as to how something could be written were pretty neat because it came with their own unique experiences and viewpoints as webcomic creators which isn't something you'll find on every other account. But "LO is marketed to children and here's why" isn't exactly one of those takes because it's one we've all talked about in the community LONG before those videos even existed. And it's been talked about since before any of us were in the community, period. So... yeah, that's pretty much all I have to say on that lmao it's not that complicated, there's no "conspiracy" going on here, it's a Tumblr post about something that's already been talked about in the past by many others, my guy.
Tumblr media
As a closing note, accusing me of being hypocritical on the basis of something you don't even have facts on like "financially supporting Webtoons and LO" is such a silly hill to die on, c'mon pal. You want me to stand here and tell you my side of it as if you're even gonna believe me? Because even if I do say "actually, I no longer even have the Webtoons app on my phone and I can't even remember the last time I paid for coins on the app because all the series I usually FP nowadays are on hiatus and I stopped FP'ing LO back at the start of S3" are you really gonna believe me? Did you even bother to read through the majority of this post? You want receipts or something? What do you want from me? I got nothing to hide, but I'm not gonna sit here and try to explain myself to someone hiding behind an anon filter who's already decided I'm a hack so idk what you want 🤣 Even if I did still FP the series, what then? There are people in this community who do still FP to keep up on content so they can keep talking about it, why is that a crime all of a sudden? Since when did this become some kind of weird "prove you're loyal" indoctrination? Or are you just mad my takes are basic?

what sets taekook apart from some of the other pairings? for example yoonmin hung out a LOT one on one over chp 2 and are also super cuddly/cute with eo, same w jihope. so why is it that we deem taekooks interactions as romantic but yoonmin/jihopes are not? i don’t actually believe in yoonmin or jihope but theyre pairings that i’ve noticed have also hung out a lot separate from the group and talk abt eo a lot. bc ik we have mentioned one of the things that solidified our belief in tkk was seeing how much they chose to hang out w eo in chp 2. but what exactly is the difference between those two pairings’ interactions and taekooks?
Two things for me: the history and Bighit playing weird games.
History
Other tkkrs who've done this longer might be able to comment on what chapter 2 looked like from their perspective but I've only been around for chapter 2. I've had to go back.
What I've personally taken from it is that all the stuff that happened in chapter 1 - obvious attraction, drama, love songs, 2018 that looks like it was the two of them having a bad time but together, touchy feely Grammys, "members and JK" - feels like it's solidified by chapter 2. Because what haters called fanservice is now very much their private time. Off schedule they're close. When ITS is making up storylines about them being distant and awkward, the reality of hiatus shows that they're not only close but so close that JK hangs with Tae's best friends and invites Tae's people to his album party despite seemingly nobody else getting their friends invited.
Bighit Games
If someone said to me "Peach, there are two couples in BTS", I'd guess the other as Yoonmin. So let's take them as an example of a pair that spent a lot of time together off schedule, have clear high regard and care for each other, potential attraction (I see it, other tkkrs don't), consistent contact over the years... So why don't I expend energy on them?
I think because I believe there's an intervention from Bighit regarding TKK that doesn't make sense. When have Yoonmin ever looked off camera then separated? When have they had a weird conversation on camera that doesn't stand up to timeline scrutiny? No forced narrative. No pretence that the other isn't there with them.
If it turns out Taekook were never a couple, I'd have to find Bighit staff and just be like "what WAS that about?" because it's the Streisand Effect: we're looking because they're telling us not to look.
Thanks anon. This was such a good question 💜

So some of my friends have never seen Buffy and we're watching through it. I haven’t seen it since I was a kid, so there's a lot I don't remember.
We're on season 6 right now and I'm just-- what the fuck yo???
I know the show was technically supposed to end after season 5, but still, holy hell season 6 is a nightmare. I'm mad about everything honestly but I specifically wanna call out how Spike gets treated???
Cause like. What. The. Fuck???
They call this dude for everything. Like the moment something goes down they call him to help and he comes running every time. Makes sure Dawn is safe, takes care of anyone injured and makes sure they get to safety, is the other strongest fighter, knows a shitload about the supernatural world and if not where to find it. He's generally super fucking useful, and he's usually pretty damn cool and friendly with them unless someone's a dick first.
So WHY do most of the characters treat him like hes still horrible?? He literally spent the entire last season helping them. He took a freakin torture session from a GOD and nearly got dusted to keep Dawn safe. He also helped take care of Dawn after Buffy died.
Yet most of the group act like he's only out for himself and like he's just fucking evil all the time!
I remember being pissed when he got frozen out of Joyce's funeral too. They clearly had a friendly relationship, they watched soap operas together ffs. Spike routinely got called in to protect her and Dawn and did so without hesitation. There were plenty of times he and Joyce just shot the shit because he actually genuinely liked her. And yet he's not allowed to mourn her???
I don't get how you can depend on someone so obviously but then act like they're not part of the group??
Especially since its pretty fuckin obvious when they hurt his feelings. Its not like he tries to come off as cool and unaffected, he wears his heart on his sleeve. He's actually probably one of the only characters to routinely demonstrate actual emotional intelligence and empathy.
It just... irks me to see him get treated like dirt routinely when he's been doing his best to show them he's friendly for years now.
And like "he tried to kill them" isn't really a good enough reason in this story?? Anya tried to kill them, and is an ex-demon. She's still welcomed into the group. Angel too, tbh and he did FAR more emotional damage. But like even though he's not around for long after, they still talk about him fondly and Buffy keeps in contact with him over the years. Amy tried to kill them too and she got brought back with all the over looked just fine too.
It just feels massively unfair and it pisses me off because there's not a good basis for it based on how his character changed. Even Spuffy, as much as I adore the ship, went all kinds of sideways largely due to Buffy being deadset on the idea that Spike could only be bad for her and treating him like it.
Yes, he rose to the bait and he shouldn’t have. But like. Imagine how painful its gotta be to have someone you love telling you how awful you are and how they could never truly love you because you're wrong somewhere deep in your core, and then sleeping with you anyway because you're hot therefore good enough to fuck, just not to love. That's FUCKED my dude.
It don't know what the hell their beef was with Spike but I hate it.

Would it be in character to have extremely cheese romancey fanart of Aisha x Alec? Like ..... I kinda wanna
[hits button that drops everyone else waiting in the ask line into a gigantic pit of lava so you're first]
extremely comically ridiculously awfully hilariously not in character. they simply do not work like that. at all. alec isn't even really consciously aware that he [teenage crush gossip voice] liiiikes her--because he only got through his childhood by furiously repressing all of his own emotions, especially the ones involving Caring About Things--but even if he was aware you couldn't pry an admittance of that fact out of him with a fucking crowbar. like you know that post about Worm Prom? alec would respond to aisha asking what he thinks about her super high-effort cool Worm Prom outfit by going "it's alright" but then when they actually get to the Worm Prom he immediately starts pointing his scepter at random children and demanding they bow to the prom queen (aisha) and tell her her outfit is cool. like that's how he expresses affection.
aisha, on the other hand, knows she thinks he's pretty cute (and is good enough at Noticing Things about the undersiders to guess that alec keeps compulsively touching her w/ a level of intimacy he doesn't give anyone else for a reason) but is perfectly content with keeping their little teenage Thing where it is instead of trying to escalate further and making it weird or too serious. so their relationship status is "shitty teen besties who never talk about their relationship status + would rather die than behave like, say, brian and taylor do, but do occasionally act on mutual attraction with no real expectations for the future beyond 'we're gonna keep hanging out.'" whereas someone like taylor could never kiss another one of the undersiders and then carry on without addressing, it aisha and alec do absolutely kiss 2-3 times tops and never speak about it before or after, and they're okay with that. alec does occasionally wonderhope if she'll do it again though. he thinks she has nice chapstick.
that said. the aishalec content situation is even more dire than the briantaylor content situation so you'd be forgiven. like i'll take crumbs at this point. drawing their version of romance is so much more fun than drawing something generic though. it's a million more times interesting to include the flair of what makes those characters Those Characters instead of tossing them in situations they would literally never be in. you can draw whatever you want forever but, like, fanart of them doing things they would actually do >>> cheesy stereotypical romantic fanart of them. their style of romance is:
- alec using his power on her and smiling like a big ole dumbass on her face + telling her to Shut Up about it even though she's not actually saying anything just feeling generally positive emotions about him (all of which he can feel, and all of which are forming 'ohhhhh i would die for her' neuron connections in his brain entirely unbeknownst to him)
- making fun of shitty movies together and accidentally falling asleep on the couch w/ their heads on opposite armrests and their legs overlapping
- when aisha calls someone lame and alec immediately goes "REALLY lame," because he's whipped
- casual physical contact in general. alec is emotionally repressed to fuck and back and couldn't consciously reason his feelings out enough to express them via words + very canonically likes physical intimacy and aisha is also not the type of person to verbally express affection either for a variety of reasons so this is how you end up w/ scenes like the one in canon where they're doing an extended bit together while alec has an arm over her shoulder. leaning on each other, aisha hauling alec around by his wrist, arms over shoulders, always standing next to each other, etc. little casual touches where neither of them are being visibly flustered or anything but how glued at the waist they are makes it obvious 2 anyone watching that Those Kids Like Each Other. it's like when emo kids sit on each others laps while hanging out at the mall except alec is more of a claires boy. she was a hot topic girl he was a claires boy need i say more
- actually if we want to be cheesy and self indulgent literally just put them on a little date at the mall neither of them are calling a date. trying on silly little outfits so they can decide which ones they're gonna shoplift. (alec would find this boring normally but finds himself inexplicably compelled by watching aisha put on one million neon bangles + form very insistent opinions about which pair of leggings he wears better.) sharing food court snacks. he can be the blue raspberry slurpee 2 her grape slurpee. alec casually feeding her a fry or smth. sitting squished into the same massage chair together while they try 2 one up each other w/ making fun of the ppl walking by. etc. also need to reiterate that aisha dragging him around by his wrist or alec pushing her somewhere with a hand on her back Is their version of holding hands.
- they canonically shared personal stories and hung out. a lot. entirely offscreen. you can't prove they Weren't laying next 2 each other on the floor sharing a bag of chips while alec casually explained the worst day of his life 2 her. they're sort of far more about the intimacy of someone really Seeing You for the first time than they are about cheesy romance.
anyway my point is if you draw them giving each other flowers or blushing or saying or doing literally anything notably sappy you're doing it wrong but if you draw alec putting an arm over her shoulder + her tiredly leaning on him while they're in the back of a transport van on their way back from doing Crimes or her giving him a too-forceful shitty awkward teenage kiss while he visibly bluescreens and forgets to close his eyes or him falling to the ground clinging to her and wheezing while she cackles because they just pulled off a Sick Prank on brian. then youre doing it right. hope this helps to explain the nature of aishalec

Ok so. Chip star wars au backstory. Basically, what I'm thinking is that the story is pretty much the same, with some obvious adjustments.
Chip grows up on board the Midnight Rose (a space ship this time, not an ocean one lol). It's the early years of the Empire, and the Black Rose pirates are both pirates and kind of an early rebel cell? sorta? They're still pretty powerful, like in the riptide canon, as the Empire is still kind of getting its shit together. And when I say they're *sort of* rebels what i mean is that, while they do actively dislike the Empire, they're not fighting them directly so much as they're being a general nuisance for them and stealing their shit and disrupting their plans.
As for the hole in the sea...well, I have two ideas for that would be.
Number one is that it's, like, a weird Force thing, which there are A Lot of in Star Wars. It's sort of like that weird fucking cube-planet-thing they get stranded on in The Clone Wars for that one arc with the Father the Daughter the Son--it's that sort of batshit fucking star wars thing, and it basically, like...sucks them in and the events of the Hole in the Sea oneshot play out pretty much the same way. This one I like because it has the wackass magical element to it and could thus account for the wackass Chip Lore that we're currently being insane about in the hiatus.
(The aforementioned Wackass Chip Lore does throw a bit of a wrench into the AU, since we don't know anything for certain about it, so when Riptide starts back again and we find out more this part of the au could be pretty much derailed, but adjustments can always be made and the sw lore is crazy enough that I'll probably be able to figure something out).
Second option is that the "Hole in the Sea" is a weapon of sorts--something the Empire is maybe working on in secret, something that they maybe found that was like, the ruins of an ancient space-civilization with super weird, cool technology yknow? And the black rose pirates end up there somehow (one idea is that it's like a gravity well, like they had in Rebels I think??? It might have been tcw i can't remember. Something that can pluck ships out of hyperspace like it's nothing). It could also be a combination of these two options--maybe it's some weird space magic thing the Empire was studying but then some Weird Magical Bullshit happened and drove them all out, but the Magic was like, awake, or something, idk I'm tired and that's all I have for now. This ask was not originally this long LMAO
Oh my fucking god I understand I get it. What if the hole in the sea was the Empire experimenting with the dark side of the force to build the superweapon that can just. Yoink a fuckin ship out of hyperspace and send them to some form of a rebel prison, but it ended up malfunctioning because the original designs were ones they stole from that ancient space-civilization you mentioned were made with the light side of the force/jedi use in mind. it ends up creating a sort of whackass void/black hole of the force in this pit deeeep deep into outer space and just like the Allport blockade, the Empire ends up telling any ships that try to leave the docks not to go there. the only people that can go anywhere near it are the ones that live on the nearby planets (like the underground towns and crew the albatrio found while in the black sea when chip got his heart ripped out), the Empire visiting bases (like the navy base from 114), or any rebel trader that's either stupid enough or skilled enough to disobey the Empire and make it all the way there and back alive. Since Captain Rose was one of the pirate lords, maybe it was an intentional and direct attack that just ended up backfiring and left them with no other option than to quarantine that set of planets and hope nothing else happened and no-one survived (they literally all did LMAOO)

confession - i'm starting to not care about this press tour on social media because the fans make following it insufferable. there's unnecessary digs at tom already even though he's not even IN this press tour and is minding his own business as usual. the timdayas frustration over flo and z being paired together or austin's existence is transparent and hypocritical. those stans whine whenever tom and z are mentioned together but apparently it's this big crime that they're putting the ladies together despite them actually having valuable and insightful things to say as two women in the industry so far. so many aspects of this fandom are completely delusional and insufferable, i'll be rawly honest. something else that's interesting is that i see a lot of complaints about 'insecure' tomdayas, and yet i never really SEE these insecure tomdayas anywhere. feels like it's just a scapegoat for certain stans to use cause they're upset their fave nonexistent ship haven't been paired together yet when its only been 4 DAYS and there's plenty of time for them to get their fantasy ship fodder or whatever. i'm more excited for the challengers press tour, honestly, at least there isn't an aggressive group of stans who ship z with josh or mike. and being z's first real headlining lead film role where she is front and center? that is so, so exciting. i hope that the fan energy will be a lot more fun and relaxed than what i'm seeing right now.
another confession - timmy's voice in trailers so far pisses me awf! like bro i should not be able to tell that you were raised in new york when you are on a desert alien planet! even when he's shouting it's obvious. austin however surprised me hugely, his voice is unrecognizable. and i'm not saying that all actors should have to do that, it's just that when i can tell you're the actor and not the character like so often with tc im over it. i know this might annoy some anons but it's confession sunday so had to be straight up!
Thanks Anon for your Confession. 😁
there's unnecessary digs at tom already even though he's not even IN this press tour and is minding his own business as usual.
Ugh... SERIOUSLY?? 😒🙄 Tom isn't even in the film? What on earth? Show me what people are saying, cuz I haven't seen those digs. I must not follow the people you all do lol.
the timdayas frustration over flo and z being paired together or austin's existence is transparent and hypocritical. those stans whine whenever tom and z are mentioned together but apparently it's this big crime that they're putting the ladies together despite them actually having valuable and insightful things to say as two women in the industry so far. so many aspects of this fandom are completely delusional and insufferable, i'll be rawly honest.
Yea Anon, it's crazy and awful tbh. These ladies are giving great insightful answers to interview questions, and all some people can do is complain. 🙄
something else that's interesting is that i see a lot of complaints about 'insecure' tomdayas, and yet i never really SEE these insecure tomdayas anywhere. feels like it's just a scapegoat for certain stans to use cause they're upset their fave nonexistent ship haven't been paired together yet when its only been 4 DAYS and there's plenty of time for them to get their fantasy ship fodder or whatever.
Yea, I don't get it either?? Like, I could possibly see someone making that claim/argument if Z and Timmy have actually done an interview together during this press tour, but so far, they haven't! 🤷🏾‍♀️
What's there for Tomdaya fans to be "insecure" about lol? 😅
Like I keep saying, OG Tomdaya stans are NOT the least bit threatened by Timothee. We're super secure in our ship lol. 😅
i'm more excited for the challengers press tour, honestly, at least there isn't an aggressive group of stans who ship z with josh or mike. and being z's first real headlining lead film role where she is front and center? that is so, so exciting. i hope that the fan energy will be a lot more fun and relaxed than what i'm seeing right now.
Giiiirrrrrl.... Don't speak too soon lol. 👀 And don't count on a more "relaxed" press tour with challengers. I've just come to realize that anything having to do with Zendaya is gonna be "fan drama" lol.   You know these weirdos out here wanna ship Z with every Tom, Dick, or Harry lol (no pun intended lol 🤭). There are just some weirdos in her fandom, I'm sorry. I guess that's what happens though when you get SUPER huge. But don't let a vocal minority speak for the whole entire fandom or press tour.
But anyway, yea, I can't wait for the Challengers press tour either! I'm enjoying the DP2 press tour so far as well. I just ignore the nonsense and focus on my faves lol.
It should be exciting seeing Z doing press for her first LED film on the big screen! 😁

I remember a while ago you answered a ask ranking bts friendships and you basically said you don't think Tae and jk are that close. After this seeing & hearing how much they have hung out this year, do you still feel that way?
I was once a believer that they weren't that close and pretty awkward with each other, but this year really changed my outlook. Especially the last day leading up to enlistment with Tae posting bam and posting the picture wishing JK a safe enlistment. He didn't post anything for jimin or any of the other members, so it makes me feel like Tae and JK are genuinely super close compared to the others. I know this is a super controversial topic in jikook spaces, but I don't understand why... because romantic relationships and friendships are totally different, so saying Tae and jk have one of the closest friendships doesn't really affect jikook in any way since they have a different type of relationship. When it comes to jin and jk I also see it differently than Tae and jk. I feel like jin and jk have more of a sibling relationship.
I actually don't agree with that post anymore, for many reasons. I find it increasingly hard to "rank" BTS friendships. They're all very close in different ways, and by "friendship" I was always meant spending time together more so than anything else, It was never about love, since they all love each other pretty equally imo.
I think V and Jungkook had a few years in which they weren't that close and they flat out said that in ITS1. There's no way you can watch Jungkook and V in ITS1 and not realize they both needed to work on their relationship - again, they said that. But it was equally obvious that they grew much closer from that point onward. They hung out a lot this year. I think V, like all the members, has a very soft spot for Jungkook. He's kind of his baby. I see a lot of tenderness in how V treats Jungkook. They're besties. But I don't see Jungkook being closer to V than, say, Hobi, despite spending a lot of time together.
If I were to rank Jungkook's friendships again - not BTS's, that's too much work - there are 2 I wouldn't change from my original ranking: Jikook at number 1 and Namkook at number 6. Jikook will always be number 1 to me, and I maintain that while Jungkook and RM are very soft for each other, and admire each other greatly, they're last in closeness or relying on each other - but being last doesn't mean they wouldn't jump in front of a bullet for each other, lmao. This is BTS we're talking about... I think RM sees Jungkook as his adorable baby brother, who is also kind of a role model, and RM is JK's idol.
Jinkook are my favorite BTS duo - I mean, I love Jinkook more than Jikook even - but I'm also a bit confused about their closeness. My perception of Jungkook is that he's not necessarily the person that asks to hang out with others - he's the kind of person that can go ages without reaching out to someone (he's the member who never replies to texts, for example). Imo it's most likely for Jungkook to accept invites to hang out than to go out of his way and reach out to someone. I think that's one of the reasons why he hung out with V so much - not to downplay their friendship, but V's definitely the type of friend to push you out of your comfort zone.
So, yeah, all of this to say I'm not sure where Jinkook and Hopekook are in this "ranking". Common sense tells me Jinkook aren't as close as I wish, but they were never the type to hang out outside of work given that they're both introverts. Like you said, Jinkook are the most sibling like of all the members imo, and Jin might love Jungkook the most. Jungkook mentioned talking with Jin on the phone though... And I still remember the way his eyes just lit up when he saw Jin during Hobi's enlistment ceremony - that was so cute. Hopekook surprised me because they used to hang out a lot with Jimin and V, but now Jungkook doesn't talk about Hobi unless someone asks. But, again, I think that's just his personality. Yoonkook are also a question mark, because Yoongi literally can't shut up about Jungkook, but I'm not sure they hang out like Yoonmin. I think "hanging out" is a bad metric when it comes to Jungkook. So I don't know... I hesitate to rank Jungkook's friendships based on 2023 alone. This wasn't a normal year... Also, "ranking" friendships isn't really possible, I'm not Jungkook. I just like to rank things...
Anyway, Vminkook are a bit of a mess in the fandom because of Jikook vs. Taekook vs. Vmin. Sadly, there are a lot of stereotypes and tropes around BTS. Armys literally live in fanfic land when it comes to BTS's relationship, it's so annoying. Jikook is never acknowledged unless by Jikookers... This might be wrong - there's a lot we don't know about BTS this year, we don't have that many footage of them together - but I'd say, based on hanging out: Jikook > Vkook > Vmin. But Vmin are always so soft on each other, I just think V and JK hung out more.
I don't even think I managed to say anything in so many words lmao. Thanks for the ask!
