What does history sound like?

History sounds like the wind caressing the wheat, Gilded Helianthia would say. It is the sickles and scythes taking the harvest, the bubbling Helianthian brews, the clash of blades within the arena.

History sounds like the growl of blood sheep, Mythland would say. It is drops of blood hitting the group, the strange pulses of corruption, the careful whispers in the street.

History sounds like magic, the Crystal Cliffs would say. It is the simplest spells being cast daily, quills scribbling all sorts of incantations on parchment, the mighty roar of dragons.

History sounds like the forge, the Grimlands would say. It is metal hitting scalding hot metal, the echoes of pickaxes in a deep mine, the exasperated sighs of experiments gone wrong.

History sounds like paint strokes on clay creations, Mezalea would say. It is pottery shattering on the ground, the crackling flames that support the hot air balloons, the diss tracks against those who wronged them.

History sounds like the waves crashing ashore, the Cod and Ocean Empires would say. It is the song of the deep, the cry of the seagull, the music found within the shells.

History sounds like nature, the Overgrown and Undergrove would say. It's the howls of wolves during a full moon, the rustling of leaves, the chimes of amethyst and other crystals.

History sounds like a tiger on the prowl, the Lost Empire would say. It is parrots squeaking in the distance, the crumbling of ancient buildings, the ancient chants of the worshipers.

History sounds like gentle snowfall, Rivendell would say. It is the hail on the roofs, the crunch of snow under heavy boots, the bleating of sheep.

History sounds like the wind moving dunes, Pixandria would say. It is the crack of thunder on a clear day, the buzzing of the bees in a few small parks, gentle candle flames.

History sounds like the Dragon's death throes, the empires would say. The sound of history informs the present and lays the groundwork for the symphony of the future.

Drawing: Senritsus drawingskills usully focus on technical drawings for her instrument building /restore work. Occaisonally she will draw flowers like her mother did in her herb-study-books. Camping+Hiking: Traveling is part fo Senritsus work, but she actually has a great love and enjoyment of grabbing her backpack and going hiking. For one it is part of her work, when she is payed to seek out distant groups far away fom bigger cities for documenting taditional songs or finding old instruments, but she likes the literal freedom of just going wherever she wants in those parts of her work. After she had been cursed, Senritsu had developted a great distaste for cities and their permanent noises and her love for just sleeping in a sleepingback while watching the stars and listening to the insects had grown proportionally. However, considering her backpain those nights outside are a lot of rougher on her than they used to be. Not that this would stop Senritsu (ones own health is usually not that important for Hunters. Its a occupational disease) but she might return from a trip bruised all over but also very happy.

Reading: Due to Senritsus never especially well worked with dyslexia she does not like reading. However, she is curious, she is eager to learn and she loves to learn new things fitting to her special interests. So while she would not read a book, she will at any time possible listen to a audiobook. Musicians bipgraphys, History on dances and certaine instruments, Travel-logs- Whenever she does not need to actively listen to someone/something, Senritsu will pluck in her headphones and "read" an audiobook.

Watching movies / show: Her keen hearing makes it impossible for Senritsu to indulge or get lost in series or movies. If the audioquality is bad, she will literally cringe at every sound and if the audioquality is too good, than she will actually hear the filmteam in the background of every scene that makes it impossible to actually attentive follow the plot of fall for the illusion. Naturally she will sit down with friends and loved ones to watch movies, but in that manner she will enjoy beeing with her friends more than the actual series or the movie.

✪ he takes the time to research the things you talk about, maybe its in passing, maybe its an in-depth conversation but no matter what he wants to be prepared to talk to you about it

✪ like jesse from earlier, he loves to do anything and everything to impress his crush. he’ll pull out random backflips, show off his flexibility by dropping down into a split, or his favorite: doing parkour on random urban structures to get ahead of the rest of the group if they are rushing somewhere. while reckless, it is certainly a feat.

✪ he has this really goofy smile that very few have seen and he shows it to you nearly everyday. it really isn’t meant to be funny, but when the other members see him giving you this little grin with no teeth and no laughter, they know he’s down bad for you. it’s just the way he looks at people when they’ve truly entranced him.

✪ it’s a small thing, like the smile he gives you, but he starts taking more pictures with you. he’s a pictures kinda guy! but polaroids are all his thing; his room is full of them. he notices something is off about how he feels about you when he notices he’s put up almost as many pictures of you as he’s put up of the band, and he’s known you for much less time.

✪ he’s really into the small things. little moments alone with you, the pictures, subconsciously showing u his goofy smile, anything and everything he really does eat it up. he loves to see you laugh but he loves to see you smile even more!

⋆ hoh boy, he’s probably the most lovey-dovey one here and that is SAYING something. he’s the one that outwardly gives you gifts, the one that writes you little letters of affection, the one that loves to feel his own face warm up at the sight of you.

⋆ he’s completely enamored when he falls in love. like it’s so bad. he’s one to become very focused on you and knowing not only what you like or what makes you smile, but what you don’t like, so he never brings those things up.

⋆ one very personal thing that makes him very different from the other boys in the crush aspect is that he lets no one, and he means no one, touch his doves without his permission. those little guys are his babies and he knows what he’s doing. he barely lets the band touch them, and just forget about even seeing them if he isn’t around. but you, you’re different. it may seem small and subconscious to him, but when he asks you to arrange a nest and place one in it, you realize there’s something quite different about how he feels about you.

unintentional love story and its callbacks

so on my first watch through of this awesome bl, i couldn't help but notice that unintentional love story has a couple of callbacks that jumped at me, and grabbed me by the throat. there are also some more subtle ones that you could take as callbacks or not, so i won't get into those, but i do wanna talk about two in particular that sucker-punched me.

first we have this lovely little exchange between taejoon and wonyoung when they meet after taejoon's photoshoot in ep. 8, during the Break-Up™.

taejoon says this:

look, taejoon, i get it: inho really did a number on you. he took a lot of money from your father to never see you again, and we can all see that he hasn't stopped being opportunistic. (he comes out of the woodwork just as taejoon's coming back into the pottery world??? like, merely a coincidence??? I THINK NOT. AND DOING BUSINESS WITH THE RESTAURANT YOU AND TAEJOON FREQUENTED????) and i understand taejoon thinks, upon finding out who wonyoung really is, that wonyoung isn't really all that different from inho. that the only logical conclusion to finding out the truth was that wonyoung must want to use him like inho did (urghhhh, yeah, even writing that made me wanna vomit.)

BUT WE, THE AUDIENCE, KNOW WONYOUNG ISN'T LIKE INHO (like, literally minutes right before this moment, wonyoung switches out the place cards on the dressing room doors JUST TO KEEP INHO AWAY FROM TAEJOON SO TAEJOON ISN'T HURT FURTHER AJFKDLSJFKDSJFKDSFJ I AM COMPLETELY NORMAL ABOUT THAT BEE TEE DUBS)

did wonyoung initially approach taejoon in an attempt to get his job back by getting taejoon to come back to the pottery world?? yeah, but the major difference, imho, is that during the whole previous eight eps, we haven't really seen wonyoung working that hard to get his job back. yes we've seen him taking vice-manager jung's calls and still reporting on taejoon, but...that's.all.he.does. he doesn't attempt to cajole taejoon any one way (and u might say that cajoling him in any one way might have given him away to taejoon much sooner, but i got the feeling that there was something else at play than wonyoung trying to be subtle about his subterfuge, esp. once he and taejoon get closer.)

but ok, taejoon is hurting and he's retreating back into his cold, hard shell we saw in ep 1, so while this is very harsh, i can understand where he's coming from.

BUT THEN EP 10 HAPPENS. for a little context, this is after they get back together and spend the night (IN MATCHING PJS LIKE THE DORKS IN LOVE THAT THEY ARE!!!)

does taejoon think this is a game??? flashing his wealth around like it's no big deal, mr.i'll-take-care-of-you, and use-me-all-you-want.

may i remind everyone that just two eps ago--TWOOOO--he was all, "i wonder if u're still hanging around because you want to use me some more?" and was all broody mcbroody about it. :((((

but wonyoung has something to say about his boyfriend being very serious about getting used:

TAEJOON IS SHOOK. WE ARE ALL SHOOK. this also references, to me, a subtle callback from ep.7 when they first confess to each other and have that talk on the rooftop about taejoon's father. taejoon confesses that he had never felt love from his father--he had felt more like a disciple than a son--which is why i think wonyoung is VEEEERY deliberate in his word choice here. he could've kept up the joking banter, but i think he was very conscious of the fact that taejoon's world is made up of a lot of people like inho, and not a lot of people like wonyoung (by that i mean, people who sought out taejoon not solely for his company or to build a loving relationship with him, but because he had wealth and connections INHO YOU DEMON) so i think wonyoung wanted to make himself very clear. (again! a subtle reference/callback to yeonhee, his friend girl, from ep. 7 also, who was like "you're very honest, and that was why i liked you.")

COULD THAT MAN MAKE IT ANY CLEARER??!!! NO and i love wonyoung for this. (i love them. *cries in single*)

ANYGAY, i am completely and totally fine and totally normal about this bl. everyone needs to watch it already tho.

this got really fucking long so I'm going to put it under a cut but if you want to read me rambling about TV shows then, here you go!

(Spoilers ahead for Roswell, if you care about spoilers for a show that is like, twenty years old lol)

Angel the Series. You might say I should have chosen Buffy because that is where I first saw and fell in love with him, but Angel is the choice because 1) it's his own whole show 2) the theme music is incredible, even after all this time 3) I Will Remember You is one of my favourite episodes of TV of all time 4) the evolution of Wesley Wyndham-Pryce. Is the fourth series some of the worst TV that's ever been written? Yeah, probably. Is it still one of my favourite shows of all time? Yeah, definitely.

Grey's Anatomy. Yes, I am a basic bitch. I am not caught up (I think I got to somewhere around series 15 when I stopped subscribing to any services that streamed it and I did not care enough to do so illegally), but the first eight series of that show are fucking phenomenal (I know some people think it jumped the shark at series five, but idk how you can miss out the Lexie and Mark of it all, so I say series 8). PICK ME, CHOOSE ME, LOVE ME? ICONIC!!!!! SO much so that honestly, writing this now makes me think I'm gonna start re-watching it.

Roswell. (not the reboot they did at some point??? the OG Shiri Appleby, Jason Behr, fucking Katherine Heigl version). I watched this when it first came on TV. I have re-watched it a lot. My sister and I both own the box set. Am I into alien things? No, generally. But am I into forbidden love and secrets and couples against the world? HELL Yes. It gets weird in the third series (WHY does Isobel get MARRIED?!) but WHAT. A. SHOW. The christmas episode where Max heals all the sick kids??? crying. When he shows up from the future and Liz has to break up with him in the present? crying. When he proposes with a lump of coal that he turns into a diamond? crying. When Maria breaks up with MICHAEL, world's most useless but trying puppy??? CRYING.

Parks and Rec/The Office. I'm putting these two together because they are very similar, in vibe, in purpose, in genre etc. I kind of don't even feel like I need to explain because everyone knows, y'know? We all watch and love these shows (generally speaking; you don't need to tell me if you are the exception!). They are fun and comfort.

The Class. Did it run for one series and then disppear completely? Yep. Do I still think about it? Yep. It would probably have ended being lumped in with the two above, as it was a comedy about a guy who proposes to his girlfriend (whom he met in second grade) by organising a second grade reunion, and then she says no lol. But it brings people back together etc. and things ensue. Would honestly pay my own money to have that show back again.

Scrubs. A lot of the jokes have aged badly, ngl, but I love this show. My sister and I still quote it to each other. And yes, I own the box set.

The Great [Insert Craft Here] Show. That includes Bake Off, Sewing Bee, Pottery Showdown and Blown Away. Bake Off has got less good over the years, but generally like, nice competition shows where people do their craft and make amazing things and it's all pretty feel-good and inspiring.

Supernatural. It would be dishonest of me not to include this. I am, as with Grey's, not caught up (I'm somewhere around series 10 or 11? I don't remember because I very much lost interest but I would like to finish it one day). This is probably the first thing my little sister and I truly bonded over? We both went mad insane in 2010-11 when we first discovered this show and the earlier series are still good. Shout out to my friend who made me watch the first episode at her house and got me into it!! Or I'd have still insisted it looked too scary (LMAO). Oh also, What Is and What Shall Never Be is also one of my favourite episodes of TV.

I feel like this list gives you a very clear insight into the shit I like to watch on TV and no, none of it is hard-hitting documentaries or complicated dramas. TV time is brainless time, thank you very much.

Stitch n Glitch Part 2

So I made a post about the states having a knitting circle of sorts called Stitch and [Glitch]. And this is just a part 2 of that/I figured out more of the past and founding.

Origins: Alabama and Kentucky.

Both are heavily into sewing based activities. Embroidery, quilting, tailoring. If it’s a thread and needle they like it. Kentucky is way more on the quilt side. (I mean, there’s an entire quilt museum in Kentucky! And a superstition that a star quilt on a bed will protect you from evil spirits). But Alabama also likes quilting. Especially after the Freedom Quilting Bee. He does stick to just one pattern over and over. The Pine Burr Pattern. Which is the state quilt.

It drives Kentucky wild that Alabama does the same quilt design over and over.

They can both mend and make clothes if needed to. All states can mend clothes to a certain degree. But for the South they would ask Kentucky or Alabama depending on who was available.

The best tailor of the house/out of the states in New York. He makes and mends lots of clothing for Broadway plays, so he knows how to do really nice looking stitches and such. He does however charge a fee.

The Stith N Glitch got started when Kentucky and Alabama could just not figure out how to mend something. It took them over a week before they decided to stop by New York and ask him for help. New York did. And he did it in an hour.

Surprisingly, he didn’t charge them. He did kinda make them sit with him while he [glitched] about something that had been bugging him. And after that they made it a weekly thing.

And since then the circle grew. Not everybody can make every meeting though. New York especially has been busy lately. But he loves the gossip. And it gives him an excuse to work on projects.

Other states that join do things that aren’t exactly stitching. North Carolina makes lots of pottery pieces. South Carolina is a basket weaver. Mississippi is a toy maker. He prefers making plush animals and donating those places. (Or getting old ones an fixing them up). But he can also make a wooden train or something if needed. Arkansas does jewelry.

Most of the states also do commissioned work. So often that’s what they’re working on when they meet up.

But there’s also coloring books and crayons/markers. Because sometimes a state wants to do art. But either they can’t be trusted with needles because they’ll just start poking people, or they feel they aren’t artistic enough. This allows them to be part of the group. Plus, usually these states pick out the colors and patterns that Kentucky and Alabama use in their next quilt/project.

belated tuesdaypost

listening: more twilight mirage, still in the post-miracle of the mirage one-on-one character eps! also the new hunger games episodes of the shrieking shack are really good. i read hunger games not long after it came out and i was ? 10ish? maybe 12? so im a little fuzzy on some of it but i remember enough to yell at my phone when they make predictions lol

reading: nothing :") last wednesday i picked up my mom from the airport and it's just been whirlwind since then. drove ~15 hours total on sunday and monday so finally settling back in at home for the summer.

watching: my mom is really into babylon berlin right now so i've caught a little of that over her shoulder...also watched some bernadette banner and safiya nygaard

making: because of Busy the making really dropped off this week but i brought home an (probably inadvisable) amount of craft supplies/in progress projects so i'm looking forward to doing that. i DO have some photos of the stuff that came out of the pottery kiln tho! i'm not super thrilled with the house glazes she has, they are just kinda mid, so i might get my own glazes...most of the colors didn't come out the way i wanted them to :(

the green one on the left came out ok, definitely not as vibrant as her test chips are, but the middle one was supposed to be a deep plum. that is brown in real life. it is Not purple. sigh. and the one on the right came out okay, the inside of it was supposed to be a nice lilac but it came out sooooo dull, the green vines on the orange came out pretty nice in real life though (photo colors aren't quite like irl and i can't take a better photo because it's back in my apartment lol)

my little eyeball teacup came out okay, the light blue was waaaaay more transparent than i thought it would be so i definitely could have done another layer of it, but the engraved eyes around the outside are very striking. little blue geometrically-glazed ramekin is fine. the overlap in the middle isn't very clean, you can't really see in this photo, but it's not bad.

and then two planters. left one is SO dull compared to what i wanted and i used so many layers of glaze :( i think that one is going to be a gift for my grandma to put her orchid plant pot into. strongly considering drawing some designs on it with a metallic sharpie to jazz it up a bit. the right one is the ONLY one that i really like how the glaze came out of all the things i made lol, it has radishes carved around the outside and it's a gift for a friend who does radish growing research. the red and white on the radishes came out very clean and the background, while not what i was expecting (it's much bluer than the test chips of that specific glaze would have made me think), has some really nice texture and good contrast with the radishes. overall a win.

A poem about how my mother and I love each other through completely different languages.

A poem about NOT being plus size, but not quite being sample size.

A poem about believing your boyfriend is so much prettier than you.

A poem about refusing to forgive my father for not knowing how to manage rage.

A poem about saying “fuck college, it’s scam and totally okay if you don’t wanna go”

(By the way, the cashews are sesame seed and honey covered ones from Trader Joe’s.)

A poem about the way my lower stomach pouch squishes when I get folded like a lawn chair during sex.

A poem about all the after school programs my mom signed me up for in elementary school,

Including tennis, pottery-making, piano ballet, gymnastics, stop-motion animation, WRITING!

that could have grown into thriving, joyful passions and maybe even careers if I actually had the gumption to dedicate myself to one thing I was good at.

I’m so lukewarm when it comes to putting action to words.

So hesitant to try,

I literally started this poem as a list of things I COULD write.

Who knows, Bianca, maybe one day you’ll read this on a stage at an ACTUAL poetry slam!

Because even a list can become literary magic when the keyboard buttons are beneath your fingertips.

You are special.

And you keep forgetting that you are special,

While you marvel at the SPECIALNESS of others,

Simultaneously inspired and watering down your own self-perception of your own talent.

This isn’t the high school algebra PEMDAS method,

Do not cancel yourself out of the equation.

You have a number, it’s your name and the voice behind the counter is calling.

Step up to the stage,

The mic.

So daunting from afar, but in your hands, it feels right.

Feel the ground beneath your shoes and the shoes beneath your feet and your heart and soul, within your soleS. (Point at foot)

Squint through the stage lights and refrain from making some little comment like, “wow you guys weren’t kidding, it IS bright!”

As if you didn’t spend seven years of your childhood doing community theater.

As if this isn’t actually braving the new land, but the land from whence you came.

As if your heart didn’t choose this path from the start.

As if right now, she isn’t hastily whispering to you, “hey, no pressure bee, but THIS is what passion is.”

Notice how every face in the crowd is as blank as a canvas, awaiting a splash of color only you can procure.

Forget the pressure to be impressive.

Just make an impression.

If it blows, it blows. On to the next thing.

But that next thing… isn’t this.

This, is what has you up at night frantically producing line after line in your notes app, fantasizing that the speaker on the stage is YOU.

THIS, is what is making your heart ache when you practically freestyle rap in your head while you wait in line at the grocery store.

You were meant for pure expression because you feel things so GREATly,

You are sensitive, and you are smart.

The universe made you, so you could make art.

YOU, are the paint brush AND the canvas AND the muse,

YOU, are the most eloquent story ever told.

It is all there, in YOU.

And then… aaaaaaaaa.

How exactly does one be you…

Let me google how to let wild passion and the urge to simply CREATE run free in four easy steps.

Preferably with basic ingredients you can already find in your kitchen.

How I envy those who outstretch their arms into the sunlight, eyes closed, without fear of feeling what it’s like to strive for what their soul seeks,

Those who take the risk of saying hello to the sky in this Southern California, hundred degree heat.

I don’t even know how it feels to get beaten down yet.

I was what they call a gifted kid,

You may be familiar with the term.

I thrived in every single one of those after school programs,

Brought home awards and accolades and notes of adoration from every teacher and mentor,

I’ve never failed before.

I want to get it right so bad.

The paradigm shift of going into this without knowing whether or not I’ll ace it on the first try, quite frankly terrifies me.

Look at me.

I’m perfect.

Turns out growing up is learning how not to be.

Character Intro: Panacea (Kingdom of Ichor)

Nicknames- Ana by her family & the others

Lovey by Epione

Age- 17 (immortal)

Location- Arcadia, Olympius

Personality- She's definitely more sociable than her older sisters. She loves helping people & making them feel better. She's currently in a relationship with Podalirius, the younger brother of Machaon.

She has the standard abilities of a goddess. Being the goddess of universal remedies, she shares some of the abilities of her family members like vitakinesis (healing) and knowing a person's entire medical history. She can also create potions that can cure almost anything, pherokinesis (manipulating pheromones), psychic operation, & she also has the ability of internal body cleansing.

Panacea lives in a Mediterranean style house in the state of Arcadia. She also visits Tricca to see her boyfriend on the weekends. When she's in New Olympus, she either stays at the Grand Eaglepoint Hotel or with one of her friends. She has a few pets including rabbits, guinea pigs, and a pomeranian named Freckles.

Her go-to drink is a lychee bubble tea. She also likes fruit infused sparkling water (her favorite being the orange & cucumber one), ginger ale, pineapple juice, orange juice, aloe vera juice, and coconut water. Her usuals from The Roasted Bean is a small vanilla latte & a large peach iced tea.

Panacea's first date with Podalirius was an all day excursion at Wild Water Typhoon! Their first kiss happened suring a camping trip in Tricca when they got caught up in a rainstorm.

Her favorite desserts are the pistachio-olive oil cake from Hollyhock’s Bakery & her mom’s strawberry-banana granola parfaits.

In the pantheon, Panacea is good friends with Méli (goddess of bees & honey), Peitho (goddess of persuasion & sensuality), Antheia (goddess of swamps, vegetation, & floral wreaths), Thallo (goddess of spring & new growth), The Graces, Carpo (goddess of autumn & fruits), The Muses, Auxo (goddess of summer, vegetation, & plants), Philyra (goddess of perfume, paper, & beauty), Apollo (god of the sun, music, poetry, healing, medicine, archery, plague, light, & knowledge), Chloris (goddess of flowers), Pasithea (goddess of hallucinations & relaxation), Paregoros (goddess of soothing words), and Eupraxia (goddess of well-being & success). Her official mentor was Paean (goddess of physicians). Panacea also admires Nymphe (goddess of self-care).

Her favorite frozen treat is kiwi sorbet! Ana always gets a large cup from The Frozen Spoon.

A guilty pleasure for her are air fried feta sticks.

She believes that she's been the glue holding the family together since her father's punishment. Out of all the siblings, Ana has visited with Asclepius the most. She thinks that Hygieia (goddess of hygiene & cleanliness) and Iaso (goddess of cures & remedies) are too busy & selfish to care. Ana hasn't sent time with her little brother Telesphorus (Rusty) (god of rehabilitation) in a while, but she still loves hanging out with her baby sister Aceso (goddess of healing)- playing dress up & having tea parties with her many many dolls!

For other work (aside from helping with her mom's business), Panacea models for/endorses Paloma, White Lily Gallery, Bow + Arrow, Persuasions, Museology (The Muses' makeup brand), No.3 & Co, and House of Muse. She also writes a wellness column for Kythereia magazine. Personally, she's been thinking about starting up a wellness summer camp for kids.

Panacea does appreciate the closer relationship she has gained with her mother. Aside from work, she loves spending time with her- doing yoga, spin class, aromatherapy, shopping, pottery, acupuncture, & figure drawing. She also likes hanging out with friends.

beckett sleeps whenever his body needs it the most and usually just sticks to that, unless he's staying over at someone else's place for the night. he can fall asleep whenever and wherever but just chooses not to because it feels pointless when he's still got energy to burn

nimue is very strict with her sleeping schedule and she WILL cancel plans to get her beauty sleep in. always in bed between 11pm-12am and her alarm is set for 9am so she usually isn't awake any time before that. if for some reason something HAS woken him up before his alarm, he will be grumpy about it the whole day

🎮 - What’s their favorite game?

beckett LOVES minecraft. so fucking much. he loves making farms and collecting as many bees as he can. he always makes huge flower fields and such around his farms it looks super pretty :^)

nimue isn't much of a gamer but she likes whatever the cyberpunk equivalent of call of duty is LMAO he's VERY competitive. loves kicking the other mercs' asses when they're playing together. will even kick their asses if they're on the same team because she thinks it's funny

nimue doesn't get embarrassed about things fast because he's confident enough in himself to know that he's allowed to make mistakes and it's not the end of the world. she DOES however get embarrassed about her music taste easily and when people ask her about it, she doesn't want to give them a straightforward answer out of fear of being judged

beckett likes gardening, watching movies, customizing his guns and crocheting :^) that's basically most of the things he can be found doing when he's at home, and if he runs out of things to do he will instead just sit there on the floor until something else happens. he's not one to text others first to ask them to hang out so it happens a lot more often that he's just staring at his phone waiting for a notification

nimue likes painting, hanging out with friends, pottery, reading and working out! she's very focused on balancing out her days well because if things get too monotonous she gets bored and restless, so she usually has set days for certain activities. naturally, when he's forced to suddenly do something else that day he won't be all too happy about it because that means he has to change his schedule for the rest of the week too

🧸 - Do they have any stuffed animals? If so, are they decorative or do they sleep with them?

beckett has a lot of crocheted minecraft bees. his entire apartment is filled with it. he just loves bees so fucking much ok they take up a good 70% of his bed and he's always just hidden somewhere in there when he finally goes to sleep. he also always takes one with him in his bag if he needs to go somewhere else :^)

nimue has a few old stuffed animals from his childhood that he hasn't gotten rid of but he doesn't really sleep with them. they're all very old and fragile and any more tossing and turning done with them would result into them breaking and she doesn't want that to happen so they all sit on a shelf near her bed instead

((Session 60 is here at last!!!))

After nearly three months, we were finally able to get the party together for a session - and in person, no less!

Lex’s player wasn’t able to attend, but she made us aware of this early, so her god (who gave the party this quest in the first place) is just going to let her sit this one out.

We started off describing the dream sequences of all the party members, and Ena’s basically evolved into the Stanley Parable, complete with a narrator who only spoke Primordial and the Adventure Line.

She adamantly refused to follow the Adventure Line, and kept choosing doors that it did not lead through, no matter how many times they led her right back to the same room.

At one point, she attempted to use a potted plant as a bludgeoning device to break down a wall, but rolled a natural one, and knocked herself out when the plant bounced back at her.

Sir Carl Jaeger was the first to roll high enough to realize that the world around him - the interior of his childhood home, which he was unable to leave, as all exterior doors led back to the main foyer - was a dream.

He found that all of the portraits on the walls had had the faces of their occupants replaced by the head of an orange Grung, which he found quite suspicious.

Sir Carl Jaeger attempted to remove one of the portraits, but rolled a 1 (on my Rick Roll d20, which I thought was the perfect dice to use for the quest of a god of mischief) and accidentally removed the entire wall, which was only a Hollywood-esque facade.

Behind the wall, he found a simple grey door which led him to a plain grey room with a wiggly yellow line painted all over the floor, walls, and ceiling….and also Ena, lying unconscious in a pile of dirt and pottery shards.

When Ena woke up, she dragged Sir Carl through another unmarked door, where they found another room with another Adventure Line, fewer doors, another potted plant, and a vending machine.

Ena used the potted plant to smash the vending machine and raid its contents.

Bagelby’s Player: “Faygo…? Where do the Fey go?”

“WHY IS IT ANGRY?!” “IS IT FULL OF BEES???” “Sprite…?” They fit a wHOLE SPRITE IN HERE??”

A single Four Loko would decimate Ena.

Thiori’s dreamscape had him running for his life through the streets of Venice (which does not exist in this setting) while being chased by a mob of chefs screaming in Italian (which does not exist in this setting) while waving various weapons such as a crab trap on a stick, pitchforks, giant sticks of butter, and a pair of comically oversized crab claw crackers.

All while wearing the heels and sexy red dress from the previous cult-hunting session.

He tried to escape them by jumping into the canals, only to bounce off of the invisible wall over the water, and land just slightly out of bounds of the dreamscape.

This broke the pathfinding of his pursuers, who all began to slowly clip out of the dreamscape and fall into the void while trying to follow him.

Freaking out, Thiori began swimming through the void in an attempt to reach a room he could see in the distance; this room being the same room where Ena and Sir Carl Jaeger are raiding the vending machine.

Upon reaching the room, and still being somewhere above it’s ceiling, Thiori reached down with a crab arm, grabbed a bottle of Fanta from the racks, and chugged it before dropping through the ceiling into the room.

He is now obsessed with Fanta, and proceeds to carry as many bottles as he can physically fit in one of his human arms for the rest of the session in an attempt to take them back to reality.

Asahi soon clipped through the wall to join them after realizing her own dreamscape wasn’t real when the molten glass in the kilns reacted more like water than glass, and Bagelby popped into existence with them after living through some inherited memories of his mother from wartime and giving birth to the Fidget Spinner of Doom (by way of an incredibly well written piece that his player read to us with all the seriousness of a classically trained actor performing Shakespeare for royalty).

Finally through with their life-changing (mostly for the worst) culinary experience, Sir Carl went through one of the doors that was marked with the Adventure Line.

Thiori decided that he wanted to ‘be a Looney Tunes’ and rolled to remove one of the unmarked doors. He rolled a 20, and I thought it was funny, so he removed the door the way Bugs Bunny picked up an Acme-brand hole.

Still refusing to obey the Adventure Line, Ena opened Thiori’s door and jumped through it, with Bagelby gleefully following her.

They found themselves all teleported to the same hallway as Sir Carl Jaeger, to Ena’s verbal dismay, and Thiori opened his door and stuck his head through to see what would happen.

He failed his will save and was driven temporarily insane, with “Never Gonna Give You Up” playing on loop in his head for six minutes.

Thiori’s player unironically enjoys the song, so Thiori just got to enjoy a fun song for six minutes. Everyone else could hear the muffled music from outside his head.

Ena tried to go through the door again, but found herself looking down on the hallway from the ceiling instead of somewhere new.

She tried to grab one of the pictures on the walls - all of which, Sir Carl pointed out, were of the same orange Grung as the portrait in his dreamscape - but couldn’t reach, and fell from the ceiling while trying.

She snatched up as many pictures as she could reach from the floor and started throwing them through the door in an endless loop (as they all fell right back down at her feet) while Thiori spun the door above his head like a pizza.

Meanwhile, Bagelby took one of the photos Ena hadn’t yet grabbed, and then rolled to pick up the Adventure Line and use them as components in his homebrew Kleptomancy spell to try and summon the creator of the dreamscape they were trapped in.

He succeeded, and summoned an orange Grung wizard riding atop a moss-covered rock monster of some kind.

The Grung immediately panicked and spurred his steed to run away from the group, who all began to chase him.

Thiori outran the rest of the party and tried to catch the Grung by slamming the open door down over him; he missed, and the Grung itself escaped by diving through a door at the end of the hallway that rotated like a sideways spinning door, but he DID catch the rock monster…

…who then fell from the ceiling of the hallway - narrowly missing Asahi’s back - and smashing up the floor with its immense weight.

Ena tried to feed it one of her half-empty bottles of vending-machine goods, only to fail her dexterity save and get her arm chomped off up to the elbow along with the bottle.

It’s alright, though, because she pulled her bitten arm back out and just stuck it back on like a Lego piece.

Bagelby climbed up onto the rock monster and found the magical moss on top of it to be very soft - he sank up to his waist in it when sitting cross-legged - and ordered the otherwise-docile monster to “giddy-up!”.

He then walked it over the edge of the staircase on the other side of the door the Grung had fled through, and barely cleared his dexterity save to jump off as the monster fell head-over-heels down into the void.

Thiori, Bagelby, and Ena then banded together to ride Thiori’s door like a toboggan down the stairs, while the more sensible Asahi and Sir Carl chose to walk.

The Toboggan Team quickly ran into a problem when they literally caught up to and ran into the rock monster, causing a Scooby-Doo-like collision and stacking as they launched into the air.

About the time Sir Carl and Asahi reached the break room at the bottom of the stairs, so too did the Scooby gang; the door stuck the landing, Ena, Thiori, and Bagelby were catapulted safely into the chair set up around the room, and the rock monster was ground into rubble as it skidded across the floor.

Bagelby raided the pile of rubble and found a moss-covered possible-geode, which he promptly offered to Maritza in his slime pocket.

Maritza accepted the rock with a horrific leg that was 50x bigger than it should have been, and Ena licked a rock from the rubble pile (it was salty, and tasted vaguely of magic).

Sir Carl examined a large mirror on the wall, and noticed that there was a Grung looking at them through a door in the reflection that was not in the room.

He shared this with the party, and Asahi used her double-dash to parkour into the mirror portal and flying tackle the Grung before he could escape again.

Thiori was the first to catch up to Asahi, who had the Grung in a headlock on the floor, and tried to intimidate him by squeezing his face lightly in his crab claws.

He squeezed too hard, and the Grung popped into colorful confetti, which Asahi gathered up all of and shoved it down his cleavage as recompense for ruining her perfect catch. He will wake up still glittery.

Sir Carl and Ena quickly found the Grung jumping out a nearby window into a white void and followed; Thiori hung back to take a page out of Bagelby’s book and ‘dream up’ a massive butterfly net that was the exact length between him and the Grung before bursting out the window and swinging for the fences.

Ena, at the same time, used Misty Escape to teleport ahead of the Grung, and tried to tackle him; she ended up knocking him away from Thiori’s net, which shattered the floor plane when it hit and catapulted poor Sir Carl Jaeger up into the air.

As her wife wrestled the Grung and the rest of the party ran up to dogpile on him, Asahi put her dignity on a shelf and started yodeling in an attempt to summon Vatun (the god who had given them the quest to catch this wizard) to the dreamscape.

She rolled too high, and summoned his mother instead.

Skaadi, Mother of Dreams, was elated that this party of Interesting Little People had called for her, and the party FINALLY showed a little respect to my NPCs. Of course it’s the planet-sized milf they respect.

Skaadi loves mortals similarly to the way an excited child with a hyperfixation on insects loves the Insect House at the local zoo, and it shows.

Ena ‘bribed’ Skaadi into giving the Grung’s reflection (which Bagelby stole, because of course he did) to Vatun as a peace offering (as Skaadi valued her relationship with her daughter/Vatun’s ‘jailer’ very highly and wouldn’t risk it to break him out of ‘prison’ off-schedule) by promising to begin worshiping her.

Bagelby sized up the Grung’s reflection by clicking and dragging its corners like he was in Photoshop to make it easier of the Mother Goddess to hold. Bagelby is going to be a god someday.

Skaadi opened up a tablet-like display of magic and scrolled through it like a rolodex before selecting High Priests Riishi in Palace City, Kendra as the person for Ena to speak to about beginning her new path.

Skaadi also gave Thiori the key to finding Pirate Island after he oh-so-politely asked for her assistance, though it came in the form of a tune. Thiori very nearly failed the will save to not melt into a puddle from the sheer anxiety of having the goddess' full attention.

Grung the Grum has the same voice as Tem the Great and I got called out on it tonight.

Skaadi speaks to her lantern, Primus Quenya, as if it is another person, though it never spoke back within the dreamscape.

Asahi gave Skaadi a letter for Vatun (sized up by Bagelby), and she gleefully stored it and the Grung’s reflection inside her lantern.

She then sent the entire party back to the waking world with a snap of her fingers, as it had been about 12 hours since they’d fallen asleep, and she worried that was ‘too long’ for regular mortals.

Ena woke up in her hammock and immediately rolled out of it to throw up, because the ship set sail while they were sleeping, and she gets horrifically sea sick.

Thiori immediately went up above deck, as he is immune to all poison, and thus, unaffected by the dangerous crystal haze.

Asahi is not immune, and still walked right up the stairs; Thiori quickly shoved her back down, but she still had to share the puke bucket with her wife.

Things brought back from the dream realm: Thiori’s door, all of the Fanta he’d been clutching, and the Grumlichten egg Bagelby put in the slime pocket.

We left off there with plans to work around Ena’s Player’s upcoming school schedule. Hopefully we’ll be able to play again soon!

The rich can build temples. My body itself is the shrine, with legs as pillars and head as the golden tower. The temple that is built is stationary. My body moves. It is with me wherever I go. That is why it does not perish. What is made of matter perishes. The soul, the spiritual, is everlasting. That this body itself should be made a holy shrine is a message of immense value. We should be able to see God in this temple of our body. Basavanna never attached importance to outward form of worship, rituals and religious observances

Minecraft update fixes lag spikes and archaeological mistake

The charming Sniffer has a new interaction in Minecraft update Snapshot 23W16A, and there are tweaks to the Trail Ruins and Sculk blocks, as well as a fix for one of the game's most annoying lag spike issues. However, a modest but significant name change to Pottery Shards utilised in Minecraft archaeology as a result of input from a real-life archaeologist may be the most entertaining update to the sandbox game. Shards, in archaeology, are pieces of glass vessels or glass windows.” While they admit this is a relatively minor slip-up, they point to Minecraft’s place as a modern-day learning tool. “If people are learning this term as associated with archaeology, it’d be great to use the actual term that archaeologists use.” As a relevant example, ArchaeoPlays recalls how, following the introduction of Minecraft Bees, children they were teaching stopped guessing that candles were made out of earwax and instead correctly assumed that they might be crafted from beeswax. Generally, though, ArchaeoPlays says they are very impressed by the implementation of archaeology in Minecraft. “These ruins are ruins, and they’re absolutely archaeologically accurate.” They remark on how the colours used closely resemble those often used by many ancient civilisations like the Greeks and Romans, and say that findings not being explicitly ‘useful’ to players is the right move: “The past does not exist to be useful to the present.” Elsewhere in the Snapshot, Sculk Sensors and Sculk Shriekers have been altered slightly so that they stay queued until all adjacent chunks are loaded, preventing any vibration resonance setups from breaking. Sniffers can now be tempted using Torchflower seeds, and a new advancement trigger has been added that will activate when a recipe is crafted. Among the many bug fixes listed in the full patch notes below, a fix for a “Lag spike when crossing certain chunk borders” has many players on the Minecraft Reddit jumping for joy. “Okay, this is huge,” remarks one of the top-voted comments, “Because whenever I move and chunks start to load I get lag spikes. But hopefully this won’t happen any more.” Others say they have even abandoned servers plagued by this particular issue, so here’s hoping this change puts an end to that one. Technical Changes - The data pack version is now 14, accounting for item display orientation changes. - Added a ‘return’ command. - Added ‘recipe_crafted’ advancement trigger. - Added ‘villager_plantable_seeds’ tag to represent which kind of seeds Villagers can farm. - Added ‘maintains_farmland’ tag to represent which blocks will not cause farmland to be converted into dirt when placed on top of it. - ‘item_display’ items have been rotated 180 degrees around Y axis to better match transformation applied when rendering items on armor stand head and in item frames.- For reference, order of transformations applied to model (starting from innermost) is ‘item_transform’, rotate Y 180, ‘transformation’ field, entity orientation (billboard option + ‘Rotation’ field + ‘Pos’ field).
