thinking about c!clingyduo and chronic pain.. (in other words, i’m having a bad pain day and coping by projecting onto them so shhhh have some of my headcanons)

C!TUBBO

-tubbo’s festival scars alternate between feeling numb/dead to the touch, and having flareups of aching or throbbing pain that start slowly and last anywhere from hours to weeks.

-the flareups make him irritable and snappish, and he often doesn’t even fully notice the pain is getting bad again until tommy or ranboo makes him take a potion or coaxes him out of his workshop and he suddenly realizes why he’s been feeling off all day.

-he gets the most pain in his hands/arms and some days he has a tremor that makes it impossible to work on his projects which of course just makes him more frustrated!

-he tends to avoid michael on his worst days, because he’s so worried he will snap at him or not be able to play the way michael wants him to. but michael likes to sneak in while he’s napping and snuggle up with him anyway :]

-usually he likes to deal with his pain by throwing himself even more into his work to take his mind off it, but when he isn’t able to he decides to make the most out of ranboo’s worrywart tendencies and amuses himself by sending his husband on wild-goose-chase errands and requesting terrible meals!

C!TOMMY

-tommy uses a cane! his foot was never quite the same after walking for miles in snow without a shoe, when he was looking for techno’s cabin after leaving exile. it took him a while to actually use his cane, but once tubbo pointed out that it was basically just a bigger version of his sticks he decided he liked the idea (he will hit you with it. don’t test him lol.)

-he also has tinnitus as a result of overexposure to tnt, and he’s prone to sore throats and coughing fits after waking up drowning so many times. he has joint pain sometimes from sleeping on the ground in his tent in exile, as well as frequent migraines, due to, well. his death in the prison.

-speaking of his death— sometimes he still gets episodes of intense sensory overload from being brought back to life, and the only thing that seems to help is long baths with the lights off and one of his discs playing. he likes wearing sunglasses, soft clothing, and headphones too on his more sensitive days!

-he tends to deal with all his pain by complaining and joking about it in equal amounts and at great length, but only to people he doesn’t think will use the info against him. he also reaaally doesn’t like being alone when he’s having a bad pain day (it reminds him too much of exile), so he tends to sleep over at Snowchester on those days!
