Giant insects are the majority lifeform on Daeji, thousands of species of beetle being among the most common. Some of these are ethically farmed for meat or useful materials, and a few are even kept as companion animals!

The oraidon beetle is an orange, green, and yellow beetle made up of entirely matte coloration. They live primarily in the Nevaliin desert, where they blend in effortlessly, but they have since been exported around the world, as they make very friendly pets!

For Blue Beetle thoughts, I do want to say something regarding Ted Kord- I don't think he was a billionaire.

In the comics, he was depicted as a CEO, but Kord Industries was never as large as Wayne or Queen Tech. It seemed more a mid level company, and Ted never really had yachts or the like in his solo stuff. He had the Beetle cave, his penthouse apartment and... that's it. (He also worked to make room for a qualified candidate to get a job in Kord Industries after getting released from prison, but that's another topic.)

Relating this to the movie, Victoria clearly is a billionaire. She also says Ted 'ran [Kord Industries] to the ground'. Which doesn't make sense on first glance- Ted had a huge estate with a fully functioning Beetle cave, and nobody mentions Kord Industries having been on the verge of bankruptcy or anything. So it seems Victoria is biased.

What changes we do know were made between Ted and Victoria's leadership is that Victoria is ruthless at persueing the company's growth and expansion above anything else. Investments in real estate, reviving the OMAC program, and the rest were under her reign. Ted had shuttered the weapons program, and the implication seems to be that the rapid gentrification of Palmera is more recent and accelerated. This is evidenced by the rent increase and the competition driving the Reyes business under all within the span of time it took Jaime to complete his Bachelor's.

So what would running a company 'into the ground' but still being able to afford a large estate look like to Victoria? Merely being a multi millionaire. Rich enough to afford what he had, but not to the point of extracting wealth everywhere.

Me trying to explain to Loki that he needs to eat the superworms I give him because if he just tips them out of his bowl they'll just crawl away and turn into nasty fucking beetles for me to find in the corners of his enclosure
