ag re-released felicity and is reusing kirsten's silhouette so they can keep their trademarks active.
kit and molly sold pretty well ten to twenty years ago. kirsten sold well until 2000ish and felicity was never a good seller.
i still don't understand the beforever strategy for felicity. release the doll, see if she sells well, then release new clothing if sales figures are met?
then, they re-release molly and kit with pieces from their "classic collection". they will never release felicity's plantation play set again.
so, if kirsten re-releases (and we only have an apparent new version of her birthday wreath as evidence) we're probably going to get less than we got with molly and kit. they aren't going to re-release her fishing set or st lucia wreath so i can get them at reasonable prices.
the ultimate ag historicals lineup! (as it should be!) :D
(shoutout to @bohemian-rhapsody-in-blue, whose tags reminded me to make an updated version with courtney, claudie and isabel & nicki! and here's how the lineup looks in modern ag books)
A tale of three Sams. Sam on the left is vintage mid 80’s PC, middle Sam is BeForever and Sam on the right is 35th anniversary.
PC Sam is my lazy eye girl. I bought her via OfferUp on the cheap and was so smitten I couldn’t let her go. I often have this experience so, yeah.
BeForever Sam here is such a cutie. Also an OfferUp find. Got her and what I think was her Costco set for $50. I swear she always has bed head no matter what I do. She’s very Samantha.
This is my oldest daughter’s 35th Anniversary Sam. She was the last doll my daughter got at the LA store before it closed. We played hooky from school with some friends and drove up just for the release. Such an amazing day. This Sam makes my heart sing with memories.
When Sams share Sam secrets over lemonade and ice cream.
Just added the lighting to the doll closet/house. It’s cool white but photographs quite crisp. I think the girls are pretty happy with it.
