The Mona Lisa European Wall Tapestry
The Mona Lisa is a jacquard woven wall tapestry made in Italy. It represents the famous work by artist Leonardo da Vinci. The original painting is thought to be a portrait of Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo, painted between 1503 and 1506, although Leonardo may have continued working on it as late as 1517. It was acquired by King Francis I of France and is now the property of the French Republic, on permanent display at the Louvre Museum in Paris since 1797. The ambiguity of the subject's expression, which is frequently described as enigmatic, the subtle modeling of forms and the atmospheric illusion-ism were novel qualities that have contributed to the continuing fascination and study of the work.SKU: CHF-7861-10948, CHF-7861-10949, CHF-7861-10948* Rod/Tassels Attached in the product are not included.

Antique Map European Wall Tapestry
Antique Map Belgian chenille tapestry is also known as Typus orbis terrarum and features a gorgeous world map by Orterlius. In 1570, Abraham Ortelius published his groundbreaking “Theatrum Orbis Terrarum” (Theatre of the World), the first comprehensive modern atlas. Containing 53 full color maps, the atlas was an instant hit with scholars, navigators, explorers and the nobility. Of course, “Theatrum Orbis Terrarum” made Orterlius famous and he became renowned as one of the best map makers during his lifetime, which lasted from 1527 to 1598. Not bad for someone who had originally started out as an ordinary businessman. Thankfully, he met up with Flemish cartographer Gerardus Mercator and the rest is history. This wonderful reproduction of Ortelius’ world map, “Typus orbis terrarum”, a plate taken from his great work, is faithful to the original in every detail, including the colors. In “Typus orbis terrarum”, we see that most of the world’s land contours have been rendered quite accurately, even for its time.

Le Toucher Fonce European Wall Tapestry - Lion and Unicorn Wall Décor Art - Red Mille Fleurs Background Wall Art - Woven Wall Hanging
Le Toucher Fonce, or The Touch, is a Belgian wall tapestry made in Belgium. It comes from the The Lady with the Unicorn series originally woven in 1510 by Willem de Pannemaker, and featuring the arms of Jean le Viste who originally commissioned the 6 tapestries. Each represent one of the senses except for the final A Mon Seul Desir, commonly considered to be a declaration of love. These masterpieces were lost until 1844 when novelist George Sand discovered them in Boussac suffering from damage from rats and damp walls. The Cluny Museum in Paris purchased them in 1883 and restored them. They are now considered among the national treasures of France. A fine accent to your home décor. * Rod/Tassels Attached in the product are not included.
