What would happen if Alice did turn bella in new moon? Also hi 😺
So, the first part of this, is when she does it.
She didn't canonically when she was on the plane or later, admitting to Bella that it was neither the time nor the place as they were in a place full of people, Alice wasn't entirely sure of her control, and Bella had to stop Edward in a matter of hours and not days.
So, she has to do it before she gets the vision that Edward's leaving for Volterra.
Luckily, she has prompting.
Alice comes back, realizes (no matter what Bella's insisting) that Bella attempted suicide and that she's spiraling into depression. Worse, Victoria's after her, and the only thing in her way are a bunch of teenagers Alice doesn't know and can't seem to see.
Alice likes exactly none of this.
If Bella turns, then Victoria's back to pitting herself directly against the Cullens instead of just Bella and her human town, Bella will be practically invulnerable and have everything she ever wanted, Alice will have her sister and best friend again, and Edward--Edward will be happy eventually.
Although this would be stabbing Edward in the back in the worst of ways (he left to ensure Bella would remain human, forbid any of them from even talking to her), and she can't see him forgiving her, he would be ultimately happier for it and would return to the family.
The entire family would return to being a family.
They need Bella desperately and if Alice waits on Edward then he may let Bella die first.
In this other world, Alice decides to beg forgiveness rather than ask permission, and asks Bella if she'd like to be turned. Alice is reasonably certain of her control and this may be the only chance Bella gets. If she turns, then there's nothing Edward can do to stop it.
Bella immediately agrees.
Internally, she realizes that this may make no difference and that Edward doesn't love her and will be angry at being stuck with her, but she thinks that's because she was human. Surely, if she's a vampire, she can be a Cullen and Edward will love her for real.
The pair leave town to get away from the tribal boundaries (Jacob, of course, flipping shit and realizing what must be happening). Alice then takes the plunge.
Now, she could fail but we'll say she's successful, she manages it.
And then it happens.
Someone tells Edward that "Charlie's at the funeral".
Alice is horrified to see the future change, Edward is going to Volterra, and with Bella now turning there's no way to stop him unless--no--there is. The timing works out, it's less than three days.
Alice bundles up Bella, gagging her to stop the screaming, and they sneak into the cargo hold on a flight to Italy. Once they arrive, Alice dons a disguise shielding all of her skin and carries Bella in a duffel bag through the city as fast as is reasonable for a human to run.
She comes across Edward in the mentioned alley, tosses Bella towards him, and "Look, Edward, she's alive! No need to kill yourself!"
(Edward, of course, concludes he's in hell as Bella still smells delicious and--is looking really sweaty and unwell right now. She's also been gagged and her limbs are bound.)
Then he realizes this is happening, Bella smells strongly of venom, and Alice admits--
"Tee hee, I turned her."
Edward doesn't get a chance to verbalize his disgust and horror as the Volturi arrive to see Edward, Alice, and a human who is very clearly turning.
They're all taken to see Aro who is immensely relieved. Not only is the girl alive, but she's actively being turned into a vampire. Hooray, Edward, you followed the law after all, Aro is so proud.
Edward of course, is hissing and spitting, luckily Bella's in too much pain to notice. (Edward's also panicking as there's too much venom to do the sucking it out trick, it's spread much too far in the hours since Alice bit her.)
Caius still votes death as Alice followed the law, not Edward, but Aro waves him off.
Though he recommends that they leave quickly for the mountains, Bella will not be in Volterra when she wakes up.
Though, tempted by curiosity, Aro takes her hand and realizes he can't hear a singel thought. "You know, if she'd like a job, then she can absolutely stay."
Edward is now left with the awful alternatives of running for the Alps or having Bella be recruited by the devil himself.
And as long-time readers of this blog know...
Edward ends up mercy killing Bella. She doesn't deserve to have her soul torn from her, it's not too late for her to die a human death. Already she's starting to lose her humanity visibly, her skin hardening into crystal and her softness disappearing. If she turns, then she will resent him forever and he in turn will resent himself for being too weak to release her at the last moment. And hadn't he left so she could live a human life and die a human death?
Afterwards, he shows up to Forks and tells Jacob that he personally turned Bella Swan then murdered her.
Jacob kills Edward.

DWC 3: Velvet/Consequence
She'd felt alone, even then - amidst the velvet cushions and gossamer curtains - the sultry tones of one singer or another as intoxicating to the Elves gathered, as the drugs and alcohol that had no doubt begun making the rounds, as well.
La Bella Morte, in its heyday - why was it always at nightclubs? -surrounded by people, by the press of flesh, by the casual intimacy of others, that she felt... what, existential?
These people had known each other longer. Loved each other more.
Who was she to them?
Everyone she knew had owned everything around her - or was fucking someone who owned this place, or that business.
There was a sort of irony to being born a noble, and never once fitting into that space... while a convicted felon and enemy of the state slid right into their ranks - and their beds - with ease.
Lily had never been cut-throat enough. Never cruel, or petty, or self-interested enough to be like the nobility around her - and yet, by commiserating with the lowest in society, she had inevitably ended up tied up in noble's business again.
But if she'd learned anything from all of it, it was that you can't run from what you are - and that there's always consequences... eventually.
She could be patient.
