Irony was a funny thing. Take Arkadia, for example. In literature and art, the concept of Arcadia was one of idyllic, pastoral bliss. But Arkadia, Virginia, was a far cry from anything resembling idyllic or pastoral with its congested roads, smog-filled skies, and unpleasant denizens. Of course, the Hellmouth that the city sat upon might have something to do with it.

Clarke had heard Bellamy mutter it many, many times over the last year of her education in this polluted, stinking town. Et in Arcadia ego. Monsters, evil, death. Even in supposed paradise, fucked-up, nightmare-inducing shit took root. Of course, that was precisely why Clarke was there in the first place.

Just another day for the slayer.

“What are you gonna do, tell him you see ghosts?” “I think she should.” Murphy grinned, appearing on the top shelf and looking down at them all. “Shut up, Murphy.” Clarke elbowed Wells and he dropped his hand. Bellamy was still standing in front of her, eyes narrowed, and she sighed. “Forget it.” Bellamy rolled his eyes and pushed past her on his way out of the freezer, apparently determined to be stuck in there with her a moment longer, but as the bare skin of his arm came into contact with her hand, an electric shock passed through her. Clarke has been able to see ghosts all her life, and at this point they're mostly a nuisance. Then she gets a job at a bar and immediately gets off on the wrong foot with her hot coworker. But maybe Bellamy Blake is the only one who can help her.

Clarke is a successful surgeon in the city, but after a toxic relationship with her boss Lexa, the death of her patient Maya and the suicide of her friend Jasper, she decides to go back to the country where she was raised. There, she takes the time to heal with her father who still owns the house, her childhood best friend Wells and all the other delinquents she left there when she followed her mom to the city after the divorce. She finds unexpected comfort with Octavia’s brother, who changed a lot while she was gone. The chaos-maker she always bickered with left his place to a sweet boy in henleys. Some things never change though: they still argue, and he still makes her heart beats faster than anyone else.

The maze to my heart (for @sparklyfairymira )

Clarke doesn't understand why her friends thought coming to a corn maze was their idea of fun. It's creepy at best if she's  being honest. 

It gets so much worse when she gets lost with none other than bellamy. They walk around and around for what feels like hours. Until they finally give up and take a break. The chill in the air has them cuddling for body warmth.

Bellamy is a friend but someone she bickers with all the time. She may have a small crush on him, but it really hasn't crossed her mind today until now.

If she has to be stuck lost in a corn maze with anyone she's glad it's Bellamy. They talk for hours until their friends find them.
