"Don't worry kid, you're dad had plenty of kids he stopped helping out when he lost interest"
Theseus, who was helped by poseidon multiple times, but in the end was thrown off a cliff by the citizens of Athens and drowned. Drowned in the ocean, the very domain of his father.
Kymopoleia, who was neglected by Poseidon once he found her to be too violent, left to wander his abandoned palaces, given up as a war prize to man she didn't even want with no choice at all.
Bellerophon, who was given the pegasus to tame as a gift from Poseidon in some myths, dying by falling off of it on his way to Olympus.
I'm just saying, that line wasn't a random throwaway line by Ares, he means it.

I had an epiphany.
In “My Goodbye” from Epic - The Musical, Athena is referencing past heroes who she too abandoned, whether that was Jorge’s intention or not.
“This day, you sever your own head”
Perseus, who had slain Medusa
“This day, you cut the line”
Bellerophon, who was crippled/who died when he fell from the back of Pegasus, due to the crossing of the line of Olympus’s high heavens and the earth he wished to impress
“This day, you lost it all”
Jason, who’s wife, Medea, murdered his new wife, the woman’s father, and her very own children, and then he was forgotten
Consider this as my goodbye! This came to me in a dawning realization.

Latest Space Cadets to sign up. Got a few Iron Wind Metals in this lot that I'm excited to see hit the field, along with some heavy fire support and an unbeatable Urby.
Hopefully have these ready for a local Alpha Strike event in March.

“You warned me, Father that if I flew too high I would fall. He is the sun, his light shines golden hot and I got too close. My wings turned to paper, my grace slipped away and … I fell.”

Hubris Bracket Side A, Poll 2: Bellerophon (Greek Mythology) vs Magolor (Kirby Series)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda below (may contain spoilers)
Bellerophon
Tumblr media
The man that the phrase "hubris" was practically written for. Captured the Pegasus, slayed the Chimera, and then believed that he was so great as to deserve a place on Olympus, when the gods decided to strike him down for his cockiness.
literally attempted to fly to the gates of olympus on pegasus. rip in peace girly
Magolor
Tumblr media
He designed a whole amusement park with the main building being built in his likeness. The place is called Merry Magoland. It speaks for itself.
He tricked Kirby into fighting a dragon that was guarding a crown that gies their wearers unlimited power so he could get the crown that gives their wearers unlimited power. He had a whole monologue about how he was so smart and how he was going to make "the ENTIRE UNIVERSE" bow down to him and called himself "your new overlord" as he went through a portal leading to Popstar. And then he got killed by Kirby :) He has a whole amusement park called "Merry Magoland" and you can't look anywhere without seeing his face on something there. He made 5 different versions of himself into masks (you can see the masks here: https://kirby.fandom.com/wiki/Outfit#Dress-Up_Masks). He likes to praise himself for his good deeds and declares that every Sunday is "Magolor Day". There is so much more that I haven't even touched upon about him. I love him <3
