We need to talk about how The Amazing World of Gumball felt the need to have a big epic climax at the end of almost EVERY episode, and I’m referring to the recent seasons, because you’ll definitely notice that there’s a LOT of them compared to how the show was in it’s early days. You could legit start an episode about freaking Ice cream and then the episode’s climax would take place in an epic highway chase scene with the Wattersons in the car, or on a crane or some shit. The way some of them start out so normal and then end with something like the Matrix being open is baffling. And guess what? I love it EVERY time, it’s amazing.

…. soooo can we talk about how gumball went from a spongebob-esque carefree and optimistic character in Season1 and then get a COMPLETE overhaul onwards and becoming the snarkball we know
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not even hating but like, has the crew ever said anything on the matter? Is it a Ben 10 situation with the studio demanding an entire overhaul of the protagonist characterization?

Here’s my note before I’ll get started….
(NO COPYING OR PLAGIARIZING FROM ME AND ONE OF MY CLOSEST FRIEND’S WORK! THAT INCLUDES OUR CHARACTERS, DESIGNS, STUFF, ETC. IMPOSTERS AND SEXBOTS ARE NOT WELCOME TO FOLLOW MY BLOG WHATSOEVER! 😡 That will be all….I mean it.)
On This Day - Feb. 11th, 2015
Isn’t this heart warming as singing a lullaby to your children? Thought so when sharing this fanart feature 🐱Nicole and 🐰Anais Watterson.
Pretty cute concept for mother/daughter moment. Do hope we don’t wake Anais up. 🤫

Also to continue on CN related stuff, we knew that its studios building is moving out their offices on Burbank. It was disappointing knowing this used to be created for all animated shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show for example.
🥜Brown: Yeah. I do wish I can visit there where I never seen it before. In my dreams though. 😔 At least here’s hoping they can continue on of their upcoming projects; even if in different location.

Hello I would love to read your rants
Hello, thank you so much for this.
(Apologies if some of these sentences make zero sense, English isn't my first language lol)
Aight so, often, I see people say "couldn't Rob just tell them instead of pretending to be superintendent evil and doing all of that?", however, I do think there's actually 2 main reasons as to why he did that;
1- not really my main reason, but, who would have believed him? Especially when someone says he should have told Gumball and Darwin.
I mean, imagine if your arch-enemy shows up at your doorstep, claiming that you, everything and everyone around you aren't real, but only part of a cartoon, that this cartoon is going to end and if you don't want to end up in this static dimension filled with mistakes for the rest of your life you have to trasform yourself into live action humans.
Not even Mr Small would've believed that..okay, maybe Mr Small, but even he seems like a reach
2- Rob got put into the void because he didn't have a role or his role was considered boring(I assume).
Rob got told to play the villain.
If Rob doesn't play that role he'll get sent back to the void again.
Now, I wonder why Rob pretended to be this evil guy instead of telling them he wanted to save them.
I don't think Rob pretended to be a superintendent and made Teri erase her face and stuff like that just for fun.
I think this was just his way of trying to trick the system(or the void, I guess) into making it seem like he's just doing his villainy thing.
I think that's why he was the first one to end up in the void; when he gets caught, he literally says it was to save their lives and that's...that's not very supervillain-y of him.
Given the fact that it seems the void is aware (despite being a location)and always listening, I guess it probably caught on what Rob was actually trying to do.
I don't think that was a good way of saving them but, at least for Rob, it was the only way.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Public Service Announcement: There Is No "CalArts Style".
Can't believe I still have to say this!
Despite everything you might have heard, there is no "CalArts Style." It doesn't exist. CalArts isn't an art-style or animation studio, it's actually a university for art and animation founded by the Disney brothers. (Yes, THOSE Disney brothers)
I know there's this image going around of these cartoon characters sharing the same head, eyes and smile...
Tumblr media
but that's deliberate, misleading exaggeration. In reality..
Tumblr media
They're actually very different from one another. Sure, they share a few faint similarities but overall each character and their respective series have their own style and identity.
Animation with those similarities? (Round eyes, mouthes and bendy limbs) There're actual names for that style of animation: Rubber-Hose, Bean-Mouth, Noodle-Arm, Fleischerian. take your pick.
But to call all animation with those little similarities "CalArts"? It's stupid, lazy and dishonest. CalArts didn't create or popularize the Bean-Mouth. Like all art-styles, it became trendy following the major success of shows like Adventure Time, Steven Universe, ect. And most importantly, there is no uniform style at CalArts. In fact, here, let me show you the work of noticeable CalArts Alumni:
Tumblr media
Just look at the diverse art-styles and animation, all from former CalArts students!
On a side-note:
Rebbeca Sugar (Steven Universe) never went to CalArts.
Ben Bocquelet (Gumball) never went to CalArts.
Nate Stevenson (She-Ra) never went to CalArts either! (Something I find hilarious since She-Ra doesn't look anything like the aforementioned Bean-Mouth cartoons but rather a bold, modernized version of Sailor Moon)
Another reason why people must stop using the term "CalArts"/"CalArts Style"? It was coined by none other than disgusting predator John K. Yes, John K, the co-creator of Ren & Stimpy who used his influence to prey on teenage girls. (TW: sexual exploitation, grooming, gaslighting.) He coined the term "CalArts"/"CalArts Style" to bash works like The Iron Giant, Animaniacs, Gargoyles, Les Triplettes De Belleville (which is also ridiculous since Sylvain Chomet didn't go to CalArts) along with the works of Disney, Warner Bros., Dreamworks, Richard Williams and Don Bluth. In simple terms, he was a toxic piece of work who loved tearing anything that didn't meet his standards of zany, off-model grotesqueness.
Here, a friend of mine on social media explains better than I can:

Thanks for listening. Hope I helped.

Do you think Ben Bocquelet planned out robs whole Character and stuff beforehand or did he just forget to add him into the background for a while and everything after that was just off the top.
"Sir, we haven't used this character in a while, should we just scrap him?"
"....Make him tragic.."
"What..?"
"Traumatize him.."

I've kinda been recently revisiting one of my Childhood Shows since I needed a big fandom break. And of course, I wanted to re-visit one of my Childhood Ships which be my very own first Number One OTP from back then...Which would none other be Gumball X Penny, "PenBall" (or "Gumnny") from one of my first favorite shows, "The Amazing World of Gumball".
I wanted to look back at some of my Favorite Gumball Episodes (with the First Season (despite mostly being Dull) is my Most Classic, Second is Perfect, Three is Alright but the Rest of them with the Exception of Six being the Total Bass).
Some people may argue that this Ship didn't age well or others will tend to believe that their relationship went downhill (because of their past episodes) but thankfully since the Spin-Offs exist, I'm glad that their relationship was finally fixed in The Gumball Chronicles.
I can't tend to argue on how that this Show was one of the reasons I got to DA in the first place from my Old Life from back then (alongside with "The Dark Crystal") but seeing on how My Old/Outdated Gumball Art evolved into This, I'm glad I revisited one of my childhood experiences since my life just can't get enough of these Two. 🩵💛
I could've uploaded this before Valentine's Day but eh, seeing on how that Holiday's already over, I might as well did this as another one that's super late.
Also, before anyone dares to ask Me, yes, I've heard that Gumball is coming back soon with its own Movie and New Series (but if it gets finally leaked someday, I might as well get a chance to watch it so...No spoilers, ok?).

HBO MAX! Back at it!
After it’s lengthy purge of animated series over the summer, HBO Max has decided to part ways with half a dozen animated features meant to come to the platform in the future.
Though Warner Bros has confirmed the titles are still continuing their production they will not be coming to HBO Max. Titles include -
Batman: Caped Crusade - the buzzy reboot series from Batman: The Animated Series creator Bruce Timm, blockbuster maker J.J. Abrams and The Batman director Matt Reeves
Merry Little Batman – Family action-comedy special executive produced and directed by Mike Roth (Regular Show) from a screenplay by Morgan Evans (Earth to Ned).
The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie – Porky and Daffy’s sci-fi buddy comedy, executive produced by Pete Browngardt (Looney Tunes Cartoons) with Alex Kirwan (Looney Tunes Cartoons) as supervising producer and Kevin Costello as writer.
Did I Do That to the Holidays? A Steve Urkel Story – An animated movie musical return for the iconic sitcom character, written and exec produced by Wyatt Cenac with Bryan Newton (Rick and Morty) as supervising director.
The Amazing World of Gumball: The Movie! – A feature-length adventure from Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, in which a superfan opens a portal to Gumball’s cartoon world. Directed by series creator Ben Bocquelet from a script written with Shane Mack (Coffee & Kareem), exec produced by Sam Register, Vanessa Brookman and Sarah Fell.
Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Tunes Musical – Meant to be the first-ever LT musical, announced in June. Screenplay and lyrics by Ariel Dumas (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), music and orchestration by Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), with Brandon Jeffords (Vivo, Smurfs: The Lost Village, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) as director and supervising producer and Sam Register serves as EP.
