Is that the ship name?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“So, you see, the zodiac signs are not some star pattern that just determines your whole personality,” Logan said. “They’re just ancient star patterns that have been documented for centuries!”
Ben nodded as Logan showed him his astronomy book. Ben honestly had no interest in space or stars. But he did have an interest in Logan…nnnnnn’s ramblings!
Ben felt his face grow slightly red. He was still in slight denial about his crush on Logan… Logan talked a lot when he was comfortable. And Ben loved to listen.. listen to his voice, his interests, the little pauses and repeats he makes when he stumbles on a word.. Ben loves to listen to it all. He’s lucky to have a rather stoic face. He can hide his emotions and what he’s really thinking if he tries hard enough.
But liking friends.. it could ruin things. He likes spending time with Logan.. admitting to anyone, even himself, that he likes him.. might ruin that.. Ben’s never been so close with anyone before..
Logan let out a soft, dreamy sigh as he ran his fingers along the page about the Virgo constellation.
“Isn’t it fascinating that all those stars we see in the sky, the constellations, don’t actually exist anymore? Really makes you think…”
Ben was snapped out of his thoughts upon hearing Logan’s voice and he looked at the page and then at Logan before clicking his pen.
“Think about what?” Ben wrote.
“Oh, um.. yknow.. about how small we are in this big universe! Yknow?”
Ben nodded in understanding.
“Like how Taylor talks about zodiac signs?”
“Ugh, nooooo! Astrology is a bunch of bologna! I’m talking about aliens!”
Ben raised an eyebrow and smirked slightly. “Aliens?”
“Yes! The math is in their favor! Plus there are some sightings that are completely unexplainable, like that time with all those kids who were visited by an alien who said the Earth was dying and all of the kids’ stories lined up exactly! I’m telling you, Ben, we are not alone in this world!” Logan said, doing the Vulcan salute.
Ben started to laugh and Logan paused before laughing along with him, putting his hand back on the table.
“B-Besides.. what about the phantoms? They could be, like, aliens, or something..”
“Maybe.. but we don’t know what they are..”
Logan leaned back slightly in his chair. “As messed up as it is.. I kind of hope they’re aliens..”
Ben gave him a half-entertained, half-concerned look, causing Logan to laugh.
“Ya, I know, sounds pretty bad when I say it out loud…” he hugged his knees. “Just.. at least that’s something I can understand. I know stuff about space and all that.. not.. whatever is going on in the dreamworld..”
Ben gave him a sad look. He was an empathetic person. He could read people easily. And he could read Logan like the front cover of a book. He knew Logan hated being useless and not understanding something…
He gently took the book from Logan and opened to a random page and pointed at it.
“Oh..” Logan murmured, gingerly taking it back. “You wanna know about Orion?”
Ben nodded and Logan smiled. “Well, let’s start with the Ancient Greek myth of Orion-“
He was cut off by a group of guys slamming their hands onto their table, causing Logan to jump.
“Well, well, well,” said one of the guys. “Hey there, Starboy.”
Logan’s eyes constricted and he tried to scoot back his chair.
Ben’s face immediately hardened and he tried to remain calm, but he could already tell these guys were bullies.. and he hates bullies… Just the thought of them causes his hand to drift to his neck and remember that day..
Logan clutched his book tightly, holding it close to his chest, and averted his eyes. “Surprised to see you guys in a library..” Logan murmured, almost inaudible.
“What was that, nerd?”
“N-nothing!”
One of the guys raised an eyebrow and took the book from him. “What’s this? Some astrology shit?”
“A-Actually, it’s astrono-“
The guy cut him off by tearing out a page and throwing it at him.
“W-wait!” Logan exclaimed. “That’s a library book!”
Seeing them ruin Logan’s property was what broke the straw on the camel’s back.  They were destroying something he loved. Just like how bullies destroyed Ben’s love for singing.
He grabbed a pen and threw it at one of the bullies, hitting him in the head.
“Huh? The hell-?” The guy turned to Ben. “What do you want, mute freak!”
He stopped when he saw Ben.
His face was dark and there was an aura around his that radiated violence.
The guys’ eyes and they both gulped and slowly back away before running off.
That was the only perk about looking so big and intimidating. Assholes like that leave when you glare hard enough..
He turned to Logan who was holding his book sadly.
“I’ll buy you a new one” Ben wrote.
Logan smiled weakly. “That’s sweet.. but this is a library book.. the librarian has trusted me for years! I’ve never returned a book that’s been destroyed! What am I going to tell her?”
“The truth?” Logan wrote, confused. That should be the obvious answer, right?
Logan’s face turned slightly red from embarrassment and he looked down, his brow furrowed sadly. “It’s.. embarrassing. Telling people I’m harassed and bullied. It makes me feel.. pathetic.”
Ben felt his heart hurt slightly and sat back down and leaned in a little close to him, putting a hand on Logan’s shoulder.
Logan turned his head to look at Ben and smiled slightly. “I admire you, Ben. You’re so strong and.. intimidating when you need to be. I wish I was like that..”
Ben looked away for a moment before turning back to Logan.
“I admire you a lot as well. You’re so passionate about stars and space. I haven’t been passionate about something in a long time.”
Logan blinked at the paper before looking at Ben. “Really? Not since singing?”
Ben hesitated before writing his response, hiding the paper as he wrote. When he held it up, he hid his face in his hand, too embarrassed to see Logan’s reaction.
“I’m passionate about you.”
Logan’s eyes were wide and his entire face and neck turned rose red.
Before Logan even had a chance, Ben stood up and quickly sped walked out of the library.
Logan was about to go after him when he saw the note he left behind.
“Need to go meet up with Aiden so we can walk home. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Logan clenched his fists and held the note for a moment. “I’m passionate about you”….
The more he read in, the more embarrassed he got and the more butterflies filled his stomach to the point he was worried he accidentally swallowed milkweed seeds.
What does that note mean? Passionate about him? What does he mean by that?!
Logan clutched his head as he tried to think logically about this. But he couldn’t.
Did Ben.. confess to him?
The thought of that…
Logan grabbed his bag and ran out of the library exist to scream into his shoulder.
“Ben liking me?! Highly improbable! I mean.. maybe he does..”
He looked at the note again, clenching it tightly.
“He’s passionate about me? What does that mean…? What does that.. mean?”
Logan’s ears turned red and he looked at his astronomy book and then the page his bully ripped out.
He opened the crinkled up page. It was from the section about the planets.
This specific page was about.. Venus.
Well.. Logan thought. That.. seems like a terrifying omen.. Goddess Venus, don’t strike me down with an absolute heart attack from how much my heart is beating…

More dating B.E.N hcs but sprinkle in some love
(some BEN angst if you squint n slight warning for toxic relationships)
When it comes to BEN and affection it's a tricky situation. It only cares about other moon children in the network. For other people, the concept of love is not on their mind. Due to that, it's not often you'll experience loving moments with them.
Their love is rare and will take time to form as this is reserved for a specific kind of person. Someone who it enjoys the presence of. A person who's a pleasure to mess with but isn't too easy. Someone who keeps things interesting. The perfect toy? In a sense yes! This type of love is genuine. It's truly a weird scenario because BEN continues to be a menace while attempting to be sweet.
Of course, these acts should be appreciated to some degree. At least attempts are being made. Despite how flawed these acts are, it's treatment others don't see. You should feel lucky that you're an exception. The last thing BEN wants is for you to end up dead. Though if you have gotten this far, you'd certainly know to appreciate these moments.
BEN's words of affirmation are just as concise and vague as their regular speech. When it compliments you at worst it's backhanded. At best they come off as someone talking to a beloved pet. Occasionally, it'll complement you in an odd amount of detail. Pointing out quirks that you don't even notice.
Now, if they really like you they have a tendency to info dump. Though they try to keep it at a minimum. They wouldn't want you getting too curious and becoming nosey.
For the most part; simple phrases like "I love you." or "Cute." work fine. It'll take time for you to figure out whether or not BEN is being genuine. Even when you get the hang of it, there's still a nagging uncertainty present. This process would be much easier if they weren't so deceitful. The first time BEN loosely said the words 'I love you' it was out of the blue during a flurry of obsessive messages and threats. They refused to elaborate until much later and took whatever response you had as a yes.
At first, it only communicates with you online or through poltergeist-like activities. They'll even appear in your dreams as individual moon children. These dreams are surprisingly pleasant in comparison to the nightmares. With a substantial amount of trust, you learn more about the spirits as individuals.
Hearing the bits and pieces of what they remember about their past really makes sense of their behavior. Just don't even think about pitying them. Even if its well meaning, the outcome won't be in your favor.
None of them can stand being vulnerable. Especially if they don't have the means to take over the situation. In those almost unthinkable scenarios, it would trigger them into emotional distress. Which isn't something you'd expect from BEN of all people. To avoid that, they lead you to the information with breadcrumbs.
When BEN decides to appear physically, things really get fun!
They aren't too fond of physical affection. You can ask, but it will often result in a no. They have to be the ones to initiate it. There are plenty of reasons but it's mainly for the comfort of each moon child. You'll quickly learn who hates being touched, who doesn't mind, or who enjoys it.
Dealing with BEN is like dealing with a cat with an awful attitude. A spiteful shithead to its core. When they're not toying with your stuff, they'll come up to you whenever they feel like to bother you. From hugging, breathing down your neck, or maybe even biting you. The ladder isn't always ideal since BEN has way too many teeth. When this happens, it doesn't have much of a care for what you're doing or if you want to be bothered. BEN has some major cuteness aggression towards you. They play rough and oddly enough they're pretty strong.
Hugs and hand holding are the most common form of affection you'll get. When you're asleep they might even decide to cuddle with you. Be warned, BEN will take up most of the bed for no good reason. You also have to be prepared for potentially getting scared half to death in the middle of the night. Besides the distorted whispers, it's uncanny generated face will stare at you while you sleep. When you sleep with them it doesn't feel like a person is sleeping next to you. It's more like a general presence. BEN's skin is cold more often than not. Its skin seems to get warm off of your body heat or if there's something going on inside of its head. At least they're soft and squishy.
Can BEN kiss? Sorta. Its kisses are chaste and usually on the cheek. They're a prude, and a super hypocritical one at that. If they happen to kiss you on the lips it's essentially like kissing a mannequin with synthetic skin. It's cold and awkward. They're artificial in almost every sense of the word. Its mouth is the texture of gooey silicone with a long tongue and plenty of teeth. Kissing it is an experience that only you get to have. BEN really tries to be a good kisser but it just doesn't work out. It may be a questionable kisser but it's not sloppy. For that has no appeal, BEN prefers kisses to be simple and clean.

Can you do the “forgot their underwear” ask but with the mafias and the other horrors
Tumblr media
The first part of the ask is here. I did all the other pairs of skeletons because we don't see them that often here.
Horrorswap Sans - He actually feels a little sad. He knows his brother is not trusting him anymore. Pumpkin used to tell him all this stuff before what happened Underground. He's happy for his brother, but a bit bittersweet.
Horrorswap Papyrus - He doesn't really care. His brother can do what he wants in his free time, it's not of his business. He's still a bit curious though and might not so discreetly spy on them to see what his S/O's look like.
Horrorfell Sans - He thought you were talking to him and naturally started to flirt saying he's flattered but that doesn't belong to him before he sees you're staring at his brother. He's confused for a long moment before realizing he's holding in his hands the underwear his brother wore before... He screams and throws it at his brother in panic, then screams he needs to wash his hands. He's going to get sick. Chief and his S/O are dying of laughter in the living-room.
Horrorfell Papyrus - He stares with a big smile as his brother slowly loses his words and turns tomato red in front of his eyes, so embarrassed, then asks out loud if he was going to tell him before the wedding or what. Copper hisses at him and not so silently asks him to shut the hell up. Chief just smirks back.
Outertale Sans - He couldn't see what his brother's S/O gave Sun so, curious, he floats above them, before brutally coughing when he realizes, then losing his focus to fly and then suddenly crash between the two of them. When he realizes the underwear fell on his head, he high-pitched screams and teleports out of here as fast as he can, blushing hard.
Outertale Papyrus - He jokingly asks his S/O if they saw he has two magic... Moon screams in horror and jumps on his face to make him shut up, closing his mouth with his two hands. Now S/O is curious. What is this thing Moon has doubled? Moon begs S/O to forget about it. Sun just wiggles his eyebrows to his S/O with a big smile.
Dancetale Sans - Rambo starts to chuckle as his brother suddenly blushes, speechless and embarrassed, frantically trying to hide the underwear in a drawer. When he finally manages too, Rambo opens the drawer, picks the underwear back, and starts to laugh like a hyena. Salsa slams the drawer close on his fingers to make him pay.
Dancetale Papyrus - He gasps loudly before jumping out of the window. He doesn't want to know. Act like he's not here and he will definitely act like none of this ever happened.
Dancefell Sans - He rolls his eyes. Tango is dramatic, he's sure he forgot his underwear on purpose just so his S/O would come to take them back. Tango is thanking them very loudly. It sounds so exaggerated that Rumba wants to die. Rumba leaves and goes to his room. Yuck.
Dancefell Papyrus - Tango starts to smile wildly. At least until his brother grabs him by the collar and threatens to break his camera to pieces if he talks about this on his Tik Tok account. Aw :( But it's funny! You're missing out!
Farmtale Sans - He stares in disbelief as his brother starts to panic. Then he thinks for a second, then he gasps, outraged. "so that's where you went when you said you were going to fetch the sheep and then you didn't show up for four hours?" Scandalous! He can't believe it! You let him do all the work to go yoo-hoo with your human D: He's shocked.
Farmtale Papyrus - Ben is shocked that his brother is actually interested in that activity. He looks more obsessed with his fields than by this. You learn something new every day, he guesses. Now he can't unsee it and he's going to have nightmares about it for days, yeah. Not fun.
Mafiatale Sans - Uh???? But his brother doesn't like sex??? How the hell did that even happen? Creeper explains calmly he lost his underwear while he was infiltrating a building because he needed to go to the toilet and had to leave in a hurry. Demon nods. Makes sense. ... Wait, no, it doesn't make sense at all, skeleton doesn't need to go to the toilets??? Creeper smiles at him and leaves. What? Wait! He needs to know? What did you do in the toilets? Explain it, he needs to know!
Mafiatale Papyrus - He looks at his brother then at his S/O with a look of pure disgust and silently leaves the room, letting them wonder what just happened. S/O isn't sure if they should feel offended or not. I mean, it's Creeper, who knows what's going on inside his head.
Mafiafell Sans - Oh shit. When Torpedo's neck cracks towards him to gauge his reaction, Fang realizes that if he laughs, he'll be so dead. He quickly escapes the room and then flees the house lol. He doesn't want to be there to listen to his brother's threats once he's done with his human.
Mafiafell Papyrus - He frowns, then screams "BUT I THOUGHT YOU ONLY LIKED DOGS?". Fang is devastated and panics, trying to explain to his S/O that he means it as a lobby and not... You know. Torpedo only did this for chaos and is now staring at the tension growing with a huge smile on his face. He's a bastard and he has no shame about it.

hello I absolutely adore Imogen as a character and I'd like to talk about her a bit.
CW: Heartstopper spoilers for seasons 1 and 2
okay so Imogen's character's really interesting to me in the way that she sort of parallels Nick (mostly in season 2 but a bit in season 1 also).
in season 1, she's shown to be more popular. she's good friends with Nick and most of the rugby players and I'd assume probably has many friends at Higgs also. I see her depicted as a 'bad' person (more before season 2 was released than after) simply because she's one of Nick's love interests and it's odd to me?? it isn't like she really did anything wrong, excluding lying about being with Nick to Tara, Darcy and Elle. like yes sure she's friends with Harry, his lot, and later on Ben, but she's honestly not that bad. when she tells Tara and Darcy she's an ally (this is one of my favourite bits) she genuinely believes that she's doing the right thing. I'm not saying they have to be grateful or anything, but she doesn't know any better and she really is an ally.
sure, she can be a bit annoying, maybe a little overbearing but keep in mind she is sixteen years old. she has a crush, or at least she feels like she's supposed to, on a guy she's friends with. she asked HIM out, HE said yes. she didn't ambush him or anything, in fact I believe she didn't really want Harry and the rest of the group there when she asked Nick out. it wasn't her fault he felt pressured to say yes.
when Nick tells her he doesn't feel that way about her, she doesn't get angry with him or try and convince him to be. she accepts it, regardless of how much that has to hurt, and moves on. she doesn't even tell their friendship group that it's Nick's fault it didn't work out, she says SHE can do better. and she can. I love Nick, but she fully deserves someone who genuinely loves and is attracted to her as a person.
in season 2, it's shown that she's still good friends with Nick! she's moved on, she doesn't try and pressure or force him or anything. granted, the guy she develops a crush on isn't great, but she doesn't know that. when Nick tries to tell her, she (understandably) gets upset and I do not blame her. she believes Ben, the same way Charlie believed him when they started kissing and stuff, and that's not her fault. Ben is shown to be really good at manipulation.
when she ends up realising Ben sucks and hanging out with the 'Paris Squad' it's shown that she's much happier. I think my favourite part of this, however, is how close she grows with Sahar.
her breaking up with Ben was my FAVOURITE thing she's ever done it was such a good scene. it also shows how much she's grown as a person to be able to recognise she really does deserve better and needs to turn her focus back on herself.
her and Sahar help me circle back to when I said she parallels Nick because the situation is a bit similar. she and Sahar start off as friends. she believed Sahar was straight, and when she said so and Sahar got upset, you can see the confusion and panic on her face because she really does feel guilty for assuming and feeling like she's hurt Sahar, and it's shown that she follows her offscreen (showing she HAS been working on herself, btw). it's after that initial realisation that she starts looking at Sahar a bit differently.
the biggest one though is when she sees Sahar on stage (sort of like Nick with Charlie and his drums in the orchestra) and the bi flag coloured lights flash across her.
I think it just parallels nicely with Nick and Charlie's relationship because of the similarities (l cba to list them) in how their relationship began and how her's and Sahar's MIGHT begin (if we get a season 3 and thats a storyline Alice wants to pick up)
overall I think she and Nick are very similar (she also is very golden retriever ish) and she's such a good character and I'm glad she's in the show. she creates conflict (like the date in season 1 and Nick being anxious about telling her in season 2) but not so much that she can't be redeemed or loved as a person/character.
also!! I love that she did the ally to (potentially) queer person pipeline because that's a very realistic queer experience and it brings me a lot of joy to see that depicted onscreen.
dunno I've rambled enough and this honestly probably doesn't make much sense considering I've not slept but I hope you enjoyed this 🫶

Maarek Stele's cameo in Outcast lives in my head rent free.
All it talks about there is that he was a distinguished TIE pilot who served in the 181st and on Kessel's garrison moon, and by that point he's retired and he's one of the retired famous pilots Lando hires on to blow up the ancient artifacts beneath the mines and stuff. It makes no mention of his Force-sensitivity or that he was even an Emperor's Hand.
I realize part of all that is just that he's a game protagonist, but I kinda want to know more about Maarek Stele in these later eras. I read the Wookieepedia page last night, which does not mean that I actually understand the character, but I can't help but have ideas about him anyway. Like, does he still carry the standard Imperial attitudes about the Jedi? It kinda seems like the fact that he is Force-sensitive might compel him to be more favorable about it to some extent. What does he think of Mara, another former Emperor's Hand, who later became a Jedi? The fact that he took a job from Lando, who has a notable history as an ally of the Jedi and Jedi-adjacent people, including Leia who was there, implies he's not overwhelmingly hardline about it.
Does he have strong opinions on the theory and/or practice of the Force? I'm just thinking, like, if he was still fighting for the Remnant up to at least the Yuuzhan Vong War, to the best of my knowledge, that means he was the last former Emperor's Hand who lived and remained loyal. What did that mean for how he was used and assigned under Pellaeon? Did he still get special missions because of it? How commonly known are his Force skills by the others around him? I bet he's treated differently on account of it, if it is well-known.
Part of my angle here is that I'm interested by the image of a kid of his, Ben's age give or take a year or so, who somehow ends up as a Jedi.

Monday, January 8th 2023 - Music and... well...
Monday's are the days I am sucked into the abyss of the music department, so I barely see anyone. Senior girls choir in the morning, helping out junior choir at break, and then prefect duties at lunch. Not to mention I actually have music as a lesson in period 5-
According to Harley and Reagan, many interesting things were said at break and lunchtime. Unfortunately, I didn't catch them. So uh, no quotes from that. Harley was talking to Minns (actual name is Moira but we all call her Minns) and they believe if this blog blows up on something like tiktok it'll do really well. So imma start adding hashtags to these blogs in the hope they might get some viewers other than my own friends and sex bots.
Well, the big scandal of the day was apparently a boy who's in the majority of my core classes, such as maths and science, has been arrested on suspicion of selling edibles. Or evidence, we don't know yet. This is a theory one of his friends, one of his tutees, and I came up with in science. And it... kinda blew up around school? It adds up way too much though. There are three main points;
A police car drove into the school gates during period one (and Harvey and I saw one heading towards school when we were on our way home) Said boy was taken out of class during period one by our Head of Year, and no one's seen him since. Others were also taken out for "questioning" His friend openly said that the boy sells edibles to kids in the younger years
Then, in maths, we were conspiring further, along with some... odd quotes.
“Allegedly, Janek was caught shoving his foot up a child’s rectum” - Ben “It’s true I was the toenail” - Andrew
Elliot came up with what said boy would be charged with... and it's quite a lot. It's the fact he is a minor, got the edibles, probably did the edibles himself, and then sold them on to others. That's three crimes, the last one being severe as it was them being sold onto other minors.
This is your reminder people, if you didn't already know, there are people like this out there. He is a grade nine student. Does he put the work or the effort in? No! Not at all. But as much as I know he is an asshole, it's still kinda a shock for me that this has happened. I'd heard rumors, but I didn't think he actually dealt stuff.
I had a pretty sheltered and safe childhood. I'm very grateful for that, especially on days like today.
Bit of a rough ending there, huh?
Have another quote for your troubles
stealing my glue “I need those extra 6 inches” - Elliot “Yes, give to the orphans-” - Bella “At least my parents care about me-” - Elliot “You guys have family?” - Janek
Oh also Harry was off, which is never like Harry. He's okay though, according to him. Just shaking his head at the fact he missed all the drama-

78. If I had three wishes, I’d spend all of them to make you smile. (JedBen) :)
ao3 link here
prompts list here
78.  If I had three wishes, I’d spend all of them to make you smile.
Jed was startled awake when someone bursted into his room way too early for a Saturday. Class schedule had been irregular to say the least lately, but they still had midterms coming up and were actually supposed to study for them.
“Dude, you have to wake up. There’s a- uhm, complication?” he heard Finch’s voice coming from the doorway.
“Monster?” was all he asked.
“No, not monster, it’s more of a… school issue?” she said, sounding uncertain herself.
Jed just fell back down, closing his eyes once more. “Five more minutes.”
“Okay, I’m just gonna say it and maybe it’ll be enough to wake you up,” she said. “So, remember the party last night? Everyone was having fun and all?”
That was enough to spark an interest. “Yeah?” Jed said, opening his eyes again.
“Yeah, so, a few of the younger students thought it’d be fun to mess with us and might have taken inspiration from events that transpired earlier in the year…”
And now Jed was definitely up for good.
He sat up. “Which events?”
“Remember the truth weed?” she asked.
Jed stared back at her. “No,” he said. Not from lack of remembrance, mostly of sheer denial about what was going on.
“Yeah, apparently no one really caught on last night because almost everyone was drunk, so you know, saying weird stuff wasn’t so weird, but there were a lot of drinks going around and it’s probably going to last for a while through the day,” she said. “Figured you should know.”
“Are you fucking kidding…” he groaned, a hand rubbing his face.
“Not ideal, but when is anything,” Finch said with a little shrug.
“Not ideal? This was bad already the first time,” Jed retorted.
“Well, yeah, but things are different now, aren’t they? You’re not afraid of what you’ll say anymore,” she said.
Jed wasn’t really sure how to explain that no, that was still very much an issue for an entirely different reason, so he just fell back on his bed. “Can I just sleep for the rest of the day?”
“Not really, we actually have studying to do. Your grades are suffering,” Finch said. Jed raised his head to stare at her. “Sorry.” Finch raised her hands in surrender. “It’s the truth.”
"How are you so cool about this?" he asked as he begrudgingly started getting up.
"I don't really have anything to hide?" she said. "At least not anymore."
Somehow she did persuade Jed to actually get ready to face the day ahead of them. Jed on the other hand was pretty sure that he should just stay in his room until this was over before he said something he couldn’t take back, but alas there he was, walking down the hallways with other students. In his defense, no one seemed really eager to talk and spill their guts.
“Hey.” Someone suddenly came up beside him, nearly making him jump up.
He turned to find Ben next to him, smiling that same damn smile he always did that just seemed to light up his whole face.
“Heeey,” he said, completely normal and totally not suspicious at all. “What is up?”
Ben stared back at him with a raised eyebrow. “Is everything okay?”
“Uhm…” Jed hesitated. How could he answer that diplomatically? “I am planning to study.”
“Okay,” Ben said slowly. “Not exactly what I asked, but okay.” It was the best Jed could do, they would just have to go with it.
“Right, so I am going to do that and I’ll see you later!” he said.
“What is-” Ben tried to ask once again before Jed quickly shut him up with a peck on the lips and promptly disappeared into the crowd of students.
That could have gone worse.
He actually did end up studying for a bit, most students did. No one seemed really eager to do anything that involved interacting with other people until they were sure they wouldn’t accidentally say anything they couldn’t take back. People were usually friendly with each other, but there were still rivalries and last time everyone was at each other’s throats.
Jed didn’t really feel like fighting anyone, he was just once more hiding from his own feelings and afraid of what he could say if actually asked. So he’d just opted for studying because that at least required him to stay quiet.
“Do you think it’s fair that we actually learn about different monsters now?” Finch asked, looking through one of the books. “I mean dragons, mummies, genies? Where are these gonna come in handy? I bet they weren’t in the curriculum five years ago.”
“They weren’t in the world five years ago,” Jed said.
“Yeah and I thought you put them back where they came from,” she continued. “I’m actually a bit confused on the timeline, can you-”
“Hey,” Jed heard for the second time today and had to bite back a groan. He liked Ben. He really liked Ben. But he was also afraid of articulating that right now.
“Hey, Ben,” Finch said tiredly just as he sat down next to Jed. “Came to study?”
“I actually found out most of the student body was drugged once again,” he said.
“Weird things happen all the time in this school…” Jed said.
“Of course,” Ben agreed. “Was also wondering if there’s any particular reason you’re once again avoiding me…?”
“And that’s my cue to leave,” Finch said, closing the book in front of her and getting up. Jed threw her a hopeless and betrayed look, but it wasn’t enough to stop her as she just innocently smiled back and left the table.
“Look, I don’t want to know your deeper, darkest secrets,” Ben started to say.
“You already know them,” Jed interjected. It wasn’t really a surprise. He’d told him things he’d never told anyone before.
Ben smiled. “My point is, I get last time this happened you had a reason you were afraid. I don’t get what’s wrong now.”
“I…” Jed sighed. He wasn’t sure how to describe it either. “I just don’t wanna say something wrong.”
“Wrong how?” Ben asked, genuinely confused. At least they weren’t snapping at each other like last time.
“Just- This is great. We are great. But we’ve been taking things slowly and I’m afraid I’m gonna say something weird and intense like, I don’t know,” he nearly groaned, looking back down at the textbook in front of him, still opened in a page about genies. “If I had three wishes, I’d spend all of them to make you smile,” he mumbled.
As soon as the words left his mouth, he immediately closed it tight and let his head fall on the open book. “Just get somewhere far away before I try to talk again.”
He was met with a chuckle and didn’t even try to raise his head when he felt a hand on his shoulder. “You know, Jed, compliments aren’t the worst thing in the world you can say to a guy.”
“Are you sure? Because I’m not planning to get up,” he said, his face still hidden in the book.
“Jed, look at me,” Ben said softly. And Jed was whipped, okay? He couldn’t say no.
He raised his head to look back at Ben who was still smiling. “I think you’re pretty amazing,” he said. “And you have a beautiful smile too.”
Jed couldn’t help but reflexively smile at that. He wasn’t ashamed or afraid of compliments, Ben deserved them all. What he didn’t want was to say something too big too soon. And even if the time was right, the place definitely wasn’t. Some truths were better hidden until a more idyllic setting.
“I do stupid things sometimes,” he said, trying to defend himself.
“Yeah, I know,” Ben agreed.
“Hey!” Jed was quick to cut in, mock offended.
Ben laughed once again before leaning in to kiss him. They were in a good place. And maybe in the right time and setting they could be in an even better one.

i'm gonna talk about tao again bc i've seen a lot of recent posts still calling him a horrible friend and just generally hating him from everything he does without thinking about the situation he's in and i love this little boy
most of the takes i've seen of people preferring comic tao over tv tao is that in the comic the conflict between him and charlie is not that tao is jealous and overprotective but that he....accidentally outed charlie....and for some reason people think that's ''better'' and less serious.....
tao didn't do it on purpose and we know this but i find it weird when people think comic tao is better just bc instead of getting involved in charlie's life and being overprotective, he outed him
some other people just say ''well in the comic he didn't get involved and he didn't say this and that and he was more chill'' but you gotta remember tao barely appears in the comic bc alice can only do so much on their own and they can't expand on all the characters in the comic like they've done in the show
i don't think tao is an asshole in any of the versions. he just made mistakes like any other teen does, and he made those mistakes because he loves charlie a lot and cares about him and didn't know how to handle things. he meant no harm
you can prefer the tao you want, i personally like tv tao a lot more bc we actually get to know him and his struggles, we see his point of view, we understand why he's sad and angry and why he does what he does. in the comic he's just there sometimes, to argue with charlie about nick. we don't get to understand what he's going through (not that the comic was bad for this, not at all, it was just different)
i just think it's unfair that people still call him an asshole, that they still say he's the worst character, that they say ''ben and harry are better bc at least they're interesting, tao is just annoying'' (tao is like.....one of the most interesting characters imo but ok)
people insist that tao ''didnt want charlie to be happy and to be with nick'', that he was ''stopping'' charlie from getting a boyfriend. when it's actually very explicit that tao wants charlie to be with nick if that makes him happy, he even tried to help a little, but he's worried bc to his knowledge nick is straight and likes a girl, and he hangs out with awful guys who are like the ppl who used to heavily bully charlie. and you know who was the one to hold charlie and help him during those awful times? yep, it was tao
when he said something like ''i was worried if charlie started hanging out with you, he'd get picked on. and guess what? he did'', that wasn't tao attacking nick. people say tao was blaming nick when he said this, but he wasn't. he said things very harshly, sure, but he was just explaining to nick why he was worried about charlie being friends with him, and why he was angry at the moment: because charlie did get hurt, and tao couldn't protect him from that bc charlie didn't tell him about any of it. he didn't tell him about going out with nick, he didn't tell him about the stuff going on with harry and ben. and that's not charlie's fault either
you don't need to love tao, but people writing ''analysis'' of tao where they just hate on him for.....doing what any other 15 year old boy in his situation would do....might need to take a step back. why are you so obsessed with hating on this boy who made a couple mistakes and apologized after realizing he was wrong?
if i see one more person saying that ben and harry are better than tao i will get violent

i think it's just a headcanon kind of night, so have some more chiyo thoughts! only this time, we're talking her a.tsv au B)
i sure do wish i could draw what i'm imagining her spidey costume to look like, bc i think chiyo would lean into the whole " jorogumo " thing and mash the usual skin-tight suit with a traditional kimono. or maybe a yukata? it might not be necessary to get into specifics asdf but basically she'd like to still wear the suit, but she'd like to have a kimono/yukata-esque top, too. jorogumo is often depicted wearing a kimono, and tbh! it would make chiyo feel more at ease with more layers on. no skirt for mobility reasons, though!
btw can you imagine being s.pider-woman and your company asks you to illustrate a s.pider-woman oneshot?? the way chiyo would choke and try to decline bc she'd just cringe the entire time and feel so awkward drawing herself even though!! no one would know!! but she'd know and probably naoki bc let's be honest -- he probably finds out pretty quickly that she's leading a second life.
i know i'm writing chiyo as a senior in high school for her a.tsv au, but it's still a funny thought uvu people could still try to commission her for fanart and she'd just be dying inside
i like to think that chiyo's uncle ben worked at alchemax, and that's how she got the internship there. after he dies, she bonds a lot with one of the scientists -- her dr. connor -- aaaaand you can guess which villain she eventually faces first. chiyo doesn't continue her internship after that.
going back to naoki finding out, i'm so sure aunt mei finds out, too, bc chiyo and naoki are arguing waaaaay too loudly about something concerning the spidey stuff. she opens the door to tell them dinner's on the table, and naoki's heatedly telling chiyo off for doing something stupid -- who cares that she's s.pider-woman! she's still just a teen -- and all of them go super silent. dinner is... interesting that night asdf
chiyo finding out she can shoot sticky, paralytic webbing was a nightmare bc i'm certain she managed to paralyze herself at some point, or at the very least, she got herself stuck to something for an hour.
speaking of which, i'm thinking the effects of chiyo's venom last for 30 minutes, though ofc the closer to that 30 minutes, the more movement the person gets back. that's why she tries to rely on her actual glue-like webbing to immobilize opponents rather than the venom.
just a small detail that once again most likely won't pop up, but most civilians will call chiyo " gumo-san " for short rather than the full name! " gumo " is the actual word for " spider, " and it's less of a mouthful than " jorogumo "
this got longer than i meant for it to be asdf so i'm gonna stop here, but pls feel free to ask me questions if there's anything you're curious about <3

Movie Review | Air (Affleck, 2023)
Tumblr media
For a movie about the origin of the Air Jordan, the movie is less interested than you would expect in both the player it's named after and the shoe itself. As for the former, it's probably a wise calculation, in that giving too much room to Michael Jordan the character would likely draw distracting comparisons to the real deal, given how public a figure he is. (Were Jordan a bigger character, it would be fun to imagine a version of this movie in which he demanded to portray his teenage self, CGI-de-aging be damned.) As for the latter, it probably keeps the movie from feeling too much like the blatantly commercial proposition it was envisioned as. If we're gonna have movies built around selling us products, they might as well try to act like real movies. It helps if they're pretty entertaining too, as this one is.
But at the same time, the movie or at least the characters understand the aspirational nature of clothing, the power of conflating Jordan's greatness with a shoe crafted in his image. (For more on this idea but in a different context, I think the recent season of the Articles of Interest podcast on prep does a great job unpacking the way Polo Ralph Lauren has been able to align itself with a certain idea of Americana and class aspirations and tie that story into its collections.) When we first grasp the shoe, the use of Pino Donaggio's theme for Body Double is both cheeky and astute. One can think of a certain...troubled rapper expressing his desire for a shoe he would want to engage in relations with, which makes the use of music from originally an erotic context amusingly on the nose. But a shoe is still just a shoe, especially as all of us already know what it looks like, so the reveal can't help but feel a little deflating. I think there's a bit more complexity in this element than the movie is probably being given credit for. Or maybe I just like talking about clothes and found it interesting to unpack.
But this movie is more about the efforts to secure the deal, and to that end, I found it pretty entertaining. As a director, Ben Affleck is uninterested in creating obvious villains or contriving complications, and trusts in the material and in the actors to sell it. The main cast is uniformly terrific, and Affleck is smart enough to give them room. A lot of this is movie is just characters talking to each in office rooms and over the phone, but it makes a difference when a movie is as eager as this one to savour the rhythms of their dialogue. One highlight has the hero conversing with Jordan's agent, who expresses his objections with profane musicality. The movie cuts between the two, making time for not just the agent's outbursts, but the hero's bemused reactions as he gently prods the other man.
Affleck also moves things along with a quiet confidence, using a steady barrage of needle-drops for comedic effect. (Seemingly every top 40 hit from the early '80s makes an appearance on the soundtrack.) Maybe I'm an easy mark for this stuff, but if you open your movie with "Money for Nothing" and a 1984 montage with the warm, glowing, warming glow of archival video and film footage (Sylvester Stallone, Dolly Parton and Eddie Murphy all make appearances), and I'm in a good mood. Part of me wishes the whole movie had been shot in the same grainy film stock as we glimpse the Nike offices in during that montage. As it is, the movie isn't bad looking, and Robert Richardon's unfussy camerawork is a nice match for Affleck's patient direction.
I think one of the reasons I liked the movie as much as I did is that it reminded me of the studio vehicles of the '90s, when movies had regularly great casts, trusted in them to do their thing and put it all together in a nice sturdy package. This movie even makes great use of Chris Tucker, understanding the lesson taught by Jackie Brown and the first Rush Hour and sadly forgotten by the latter's sequels that Tucker is best deployed in measured contexts. Unmitigated Tucker is not safe for normal consumption, and Affleck errs on the side of caution for all our sakes. The one obvious miscalculation Affleck makes is cutting to Jordan's future exploits during Matt Damon's climactic speech. His words resonate on their own. Underlining them seems redundant. But it's a small matter.
The movie ends with a bunch of text stressing the importance of the events depicted and all the good deeds the principals have been responsible for. This no doubt was included as part of some contractual obligation to Nike and feels at odds with the low stakes of the preceding movie, but Affleck gets the last laugh, depicting Nike founder Phil Knight with a deeply unflattering perm and a Porsche in a shade that suggests his means exceed his taste.

OmegaVerse - Difficult training
POV Saul
The second the category course ends, I slip away and head to my apartments. My heart races at the thought that one or more students may have figured out the truth. I walk quickly, before anyone can see me.
Once through the door to my apartment, I lock it and lean against it while dropping to the floor. I try to keep my breathing steady so I don't totally panic. It only takes one of them to figure out what I was hiding and I'm out of here. Andreas burned down one of my two houses, taking all my possessions and memories with it. I don't know if I can handle leaving Alfea. There have been so many changes in my life in the last few months and hardly any good ones. The only slightly positive thing is the return of Andreas. And even then, he avoids me most of the time. We only talk for classes and he helps me from time to time but that's it... At the same time, how can I blame him? I tried to kill him, I stole his son and his place. He is right to keep his distance. I am already very grateful to him for helping me, even if with each contact I feel both relief and sadness when I compare what we were and what we are today. And the fact that he is helping me when he obviously doesn't want to, makes me feel even more guilty.
But maybe tomorrow I won't even be in Alfea, I won't be able to see him, I won't be able to keep an eye on Sky. I don't understand what made Rosalind and Luna do this. They both know what I am and yet the Queen has pardoned me and allowed me to have a specialist position here. I find it hard to understand their interest in doing this.
I glance around my suite. It's much smaller than the one I had before, but that's okay since most of my belongings were destroyed after my arrest. I glance at the wall where I was able to hang a few pictures Ben sent me. I guess I might as well do something useful and put everything in a bag. I don't think they'll give me time to pack my stuff if they decide to throw me out.
I get up and start to put away my meager possessions. Tidying up helps me to calm down and my heart starts to beat normally again. And I tell myself that everything is not so bad because I have been prepared for this eventuality for years. Farah and I bought a small isolated house in case we needed to hide one day or in case my secret came out. No one else knows about it, not even Ben. The idea was for the two of us to go. I guess I'll have to go alone now. I have a tiny bit of hope that wherever she is, Farah will find her way to safety and meet me there. I know she's not there right now, because there are sensors around the property that would have alerted me if she had already taken refuge there. There's still the problem of not having enough alpha, but I guess I'll go buy some omitrix and that's it....
I look around the room which has been well emptied already. I mustn't change anything about my behavior if I don't want to arouse suspicion. But no one ever comes in here so I don't take any chances by packing my bags, just in case.  Maybe none of the students have figured out the truth yet, but they certainly suspect that there is a hidden meaning to this class. I just hope the second grade fairies don't dig any deeper. They have a tendency to poke their noses into everyone's business and they might drag Sky in...
Sky... I stop what I'm doing and sigh... Our relationship is already at an all-time low and I'm not sure it will survive another test. And this, this secret, is more than just a test, I realize. But I had no choice but to keep my condition quiet and I still do. When he was little, there was a risk that he wouldn't be able to keep the secret. Now, I know he wouldn't tell anyone, but his life, or at least his freedom, would be at stake if anyone found out. I can't do that to him. He's already been through so much because of me, I don't want to add to it. I'd rather he hate me for the rest of his life if he finds out the truth than end up in jail.
I look at the clock and realize that the special training of the oldest students is about to start in 10 minutes. It's a new class that Rosalind has instituted for the top specialists. Well, when I say new, it's not really new because there was one back when I was a student here.
I guess I can't hide here forever. So I quickly get dressed and head to the training area. To my surprise, I see Andreas leaning against one of the training platforms. In itself, there is nothing disturbing about him being here because he is co-teaching this class with me. What is more disturbing is that he is early. He is much more often the last to arrive, than the first.
I come and stand next to him and before I can say a word, the students arrive. Other specialists arrive but only to watch, they are not allowed to participate. I am surprised not to see Sky, because he usually comes but maybe he is just late.
I am reassured that I don't get any weird looks from the students. I relax that everything is normal, that this is just another class and I'm not going to end up in the pillory, or at least not today. So I get into teacher mode, explaining the exercises we prepared with Andreas, the purpose of them, etc.
I don't talk for long because I know that they are not there for that and especially that they won't listen if it lasts more than a few minutes. What they are interested in is doing the exercises and especially putting them into practice in a fight. They don't yet realize that theory is just as important as practice. At the same time, I'm not sure that Andreas understands this either. That's why I'm in charge of that part and he does most of the demonstrations. We could totally swap roles but that's how it happened naturally.
Except that, apparently, today Andreas changed his mind because he throws a sword at me and before I can ask him what he is doing, he says to the whole class:
"For once, we are going to show you in a fight what Saul just explained."
And that's how I find myself on the platform facing Andreas for the first time since Aster Dell. I try not to think about how our last fight ended. I'm glad I have a wooden sword instead of my real one because I think it's the only thing keeping me from having a flashback and I wonder if it's the same for Andreas. I don't really have time to think about it because he throws his first punch. And it all disappears as we begin a well known choreography. I can't count the number of times we've trained together and even though the years have passed, I recognize his style perfectly. Of course, he has improved and adapted it to his age, but the substance remains the same.
The fight goes on for many minutes and neither of us really gets the upper hand on the other. We know each other's weaknesses and strengths after fighting side by side for so long. We are able to anticipate almost every move the other makes. But when I see a tiny opening, I don't hesitate to take my opponent down, ending the fight.
I hear applause and look around at the crowd of students who had watched the fight. I had forgotten that we had an audience but by crossing the glance of Andreas, who is still lying down, I understand that he was perfectly conscious of it. And even worse than that, he orchestrated it. I reach out to him to help him up. And once we're in front of each other, I give him a subtle nod of thanks. I know he did this to show what I was capable of to anyone who might have had any doubt. More importantly, I know he didn't let me win. If I had given him the opportunity to win, he would have taken it without hesitation. This simple thought comforts me even more than the rest.
I turn back to the students and order them in my commanding voice:
"Your turn to show what you can do. Get into pairs and start your exercises."
And the class continues as normal, I go through each group, correcting every flaw. I naturally fall back into my role as a teacher, putting aside my concerns for the moment.
And it is in this frame of mind that I head to my apartments. But as I reach my door, I see Sky leaning against the wall. And the second I meet his eyes, I understand that he knows.

Hi! I was wondering if you could do what it would be like to be Gwen's best friend? (She/Her pronouns)
Hizza! A man of quality! Haha, of course.
I had a lot of fun with this. I actually never used the readers pronouns since I did head canons, but the reader is implied to be a girl.
Being Gwen's Best Friend
(Head Canons)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As we know Gwen is an incredibly kind and loving person to those she cares about, and that obviously extends outside of her family and into her friends. Even those unaffiliated with… the other part of her life. She thrives with friends who are similar to her, or at least are down to earth and kind enough to understand her and her responsibilities.
She puts heavy priority on things that are important to the people she cares about, and will try her absolute hardest to make it to the stuff you invite her to- even if it’s just to hang out for a couple of hours.
Her plumber activity makes it really hard sometimes though, even though she communicates pretty well about what she can’t do whenever she can't be around. Missing out with her best friend makes her feel like she’s disappointing you, even extra if you have zero plumber affiliation or are unpowered. Gwen will try her hardest to make it up to you, even though you’ve assured her that it’s alright dozens of times. This is why she thrives with kinder and level headed friends, she needs someone to ground her.
When everything is peachy though, the both of you spend a lot of time together. There isn’t a (non hero related) activity you don’t do together, even if you both have differing extracurricular activities. The both of you have a tendency to spend your free downtime going to each other's meets or practices for the other’s encouragement. Having you around is like a breath of fresh air.
Other than her mother, there really aren't a lot of other women around her often… or one’s that don’t want her head on a stick or something like that. Being very frank with you, it’s kind of a sausage party around her at all times. She cares about her boyfriend and her cousin a lot but having someone to be able to go shopping, do homework, have sleepovers with, or just to talk to about stuff that isn’t aliens and magic… She loves you a whole lot, and the feeling is mutual.
You’ve met members of her family on numerous occasions, including her cute cousin, there have been times where you were even invited to family events by her parents. (Like, her mom really likes you. You’re probably her favorite of all of Gwen's friends, seeing as how you keep her out of trouble.) However, you didn’t meet Kevin until Gwen formally introduced you two- like set up a place and time for it. He seemed like a decent enough guy, he really seemed to make her laugh and feel comfortable. But, as her best friend, it’s your job to always have a veil of skepticism for those she takes romantic interest in.
And you did, until you and him happened to bump into each other. It was completely random and you both didn’t seem to care about each other being there… until he bottomed out and seized the moment to finally ask you for help on date stuff. He seemed to be a little ashamed to ask for help, but still did it. Your skepticism melted away in an instant, he really seems to love and care for her- so of course you helped him to the best of your ability.
In fact, after that both Kevin and Ben started coming to you when they had Gwen problems. Good and bad. Turns out, you get along with them pretty well too, but you wouldn’t exactly consider them your friends.
You being there for her really helps her keep a sense of normalcy she wouldn’t otherwise have, and she would probably go to the ends of the earth to do anything for you. She’s an amazing listener and is great at working with you to problem solve whatever might be bothering you- or, she’s really good at helping you relax and destress the same way you do with her, going out or doing girly stuff together.
When she eventually goes away for college, it’s incredibly heartbreaking for the both of you. You are so fucking proud of her and everything she did to get there, supporting her no matter what she chose to do. But truth be told, you really- really didn’t want her to leave. You kept that part to yourself though.
The first few months were really hard, you never thought you'd ever miss someone this much. The first few months were pretty stressful for her as well, having Kevin around help a lot… but something was missing. She had to call you. When she finally cleared the time to do so, you almost cried when you picked up. Thus a conversation lasting a good few hours ensued- after which you both felt significantly better. This led to the two of you arranging frequent phone calls whenever the both of you were free.
“...that professor seems great.”
“He is, almost all of my classes are- I just…I think I might visit next weekend. I miss you, I miss home-” Before she could finish your thought, you stop dead in your tracks as a car flies right past you and into the building you were just walking in front of. Resulting in a big crash that left the both of you cringing and silent. Looking in the direction it came, you see a newly angered alien and your best friend's cute cousin transforming into an alien of his own. Your eyes widen, lips pursing a bit.
“You sure about that?”
“Yeah, not so much anymore.”
Any time she visits home, she always makes the effort to see you- even if it’s just for a few minutes. Those few minutes are cherished by the both of you. Eventually, with your parent’s go-ahead, you make trips to visit her on campus. The first time was a surprise (that you may or may not have correlated with Kevin to make sure you didn’t show up at the wrong time/day.) but after that, visiting her became more frequent. You might even start taking an interest in magics yourself, but from more of an outsider perspective.
Gwen really values her friendships, and if you put in the effort yourself- you and her might stand the test of distance and time.

vday creepypasta hcs!! the creeps in an long distance relationship<3
this is barely any of them, i'm so sorry. i hope you enjoy tho :')
jeff
okay jeff would actually be up for ldr more than people may think
except for the fact that he's kinda paranoid and possessive but he'd just make ben hack your stuff to make sure you're not scamming him or smth
you two met on a dark web dating site. "but avi", you might say, "i'm not on the dark web, and i don't think they have dating sites". too bad, this is my blog and my hcs, and it is now a thing
he was just being himself, rambling about some of his knives and other weapons, and you ended up somehow joining the conversation :|
jeff doesn't believe in love at first... uh... message (?), but you just hit different okay 😩 he just found it easy to talk to you since you sounded like you actually wanted to hear what he said
after that you guys started talking more, and he found himself becoming more affectionate to you. he didn't assume love had anything to do with it, but after a while he started to consider it
you accidentally mentioned that you liked him one time, and he went 👀 start of a happy relationship
you two go on calls a lot. jeff isn't someone who's amazing at speaking, so for the first while you were doing all talking. after a bit, though, he began to open up and always make you smile when he starts off on some random topic like how to break a bone or hiding bodies<33
ben
he was cyber surfing one day and ended up hacking your computer lol
after watching you for a while and thinking you looked really cool he found a server/social media you were on and messaged you pretending that he just randomly found you (which wasn't a complete lie)
he ended up looking through your search history to see what you liked and found out all your common interests so he could pretend like it was some twist of fate that brought you together<3
it wouldn't actually be ldr with ben since he can travel through electronics. he wouldn't reveal much about himself and the fact that he's a ghost until one day you said you wish you could see him face to face
then bam. he appeared in front of you. you screamed. he still teases you about that.
so tbh you guys visit a lot, but you can at least say that it started off as long distance!!
not to sound creepy, but even if you're just voice calling he'll look through your camera a lot. it's cute bc you always say that you're not 'camera ready', but somehow you always still look so cute in your messy hair, pjs, or smudged makeup.
ben always hacks hours stuff so when you log on in the morning a little message will pop up. most of the time a funny joke and telling you that he loves you, or sometimes a love letter if he's feeling soft and romantic ^^
e. jack
jack would be quite hesitant to get into an online relationship, and never really imagined himself being in one
you two actually met by accident through ben who knows way too many people through the internet (same dude, same)
you were playing a game with ben and jack found your personality interesting, although he didn't support online friends. (he's the person that doesn't want you to accidentally talk to serial killers ... bc literally he is one)
he thought you were cool tho, and ended up relenting when ben forced him to play a round against you
slightly surprised by how well you two got along, he always kept an ear open for when ben would be talking with you. then he would make some sort of excuse as to why he had to talk to you :>
after a month or so of just chatting here or there, he finally got thr courage to talk to you one-on-one. HE WAS SO NERVOUS BC WHAT IF YOU WERE SOME CRAZED PSYCHOPATH THAT WOULD STALK HIM OR SMTH (wow jack you're one to talk .-.)
he's not one for texting, which is why everyone starting teasing him about his crush on you when he would always be on his phone or computer, typing away
it took him like 6 months to finally confess, and he made the rule that he had to meet you before anything progressed. hey, if you weren't legit you would just be a free meal
happy valentines day everyone!! if you're feeling lonely please know that ilysm and you deserve love even if you don't feel like you do. please stay safe and take care of yourself, just take a few minutes to let go and smile, alright? feeling alone is a normal and valid feeling, but it never lasts! you're really special and there will always be someone, whether romantic or platonic, out there who recognizes you as the amazing individual you are.

Between Fifth And You
AO3
chapter two
~
It’s Saturday night for Manhattan’s elite, and we know what that means. The Noble House of Black beckons, and one particularly family seems to be a little behind on preparations—at least, their youngest son is.
Spotted—Logan Tremblay, looking hot in nothing but basketball shorts. Better soak up that fading blue August heat while you can, Lo. Or are you more interested in something a little more…fiery? But in the LES? Why so far from home, Dorothy? Eye color isn’t the only thing green about the Tremblay family. And they have a bad habit of sorting everything out with a little help from Ben Franklin.
“Shoot, shoot!”
Logan pivoted on his heel and was able to toss the ball around his opponent’s shoulder. He only caught a glimpse of red hair as Finn caught it with ease and jumped it up to the rim.
Finn O’Hara. One of these days Logan was going to step on his own shoes watching Finn O’Hara. His pale chest looked like sugar dusting, his exertion-red cheeks the goddamn cherry.
“Point moo-oi!” Finn shouted, slapping Will Morgan and Percy Marshall on their bare backs. “That’s how you say it, right, Tremblay?”
Logan feigned a shudder. “Non.”
“Shorty’s got game,” Will laughed, sweat dripping down his dark brown skin, darkening the leather bracelets he wore.
Percy shook his head, swallowing over a caught-breath, his silver Star of David swinging at his throat. “Shorty must be cheating with his Upper Side shoes.”
Logan just narrowed his eyes and laughed, pushing his hair out of his eyes. “You’re just tall. Doesn’t mean you’re good.”
“Yeah, yeah, Mazel tov, you fucker.”
“I’m finally winning,” Finn grinned. “And now I gotta get back to the shop. I said be back in five…pretty sure it’s been fifty-five.”
Logan swallowed. “I’ll—I’ll walk you.”
Percy slapped him on the back as they left, and Finn held the cage door of the basketball court open for him.
“So, you’re back at school?” Finn asked as he pulled his shirt on. Logan nodded, following suit, picking at the neck where it stuck to his sweaty skin.
“Yeah,” Logan nodded. “I’m supposed to be getting fitted for a suit right now.”
Finn snorted. “What does that have to do with school?”
“Oh,” the corner of Logan’s mouth raised as he realized. “Nothing, I…well, you know. The social scene. It sort of all feels like one thing, up there.”
Finn pouted at him. “Poor baby. Too many parties.”
“That’s not what I meant,” Logan laughed.
“Hey, feel like lunch?”
“I thought you had to be back.”
Finn shrugged. “I’m hungry.”
Logan bit his lip, wondering how many different ways his older sisters could actually kill him. Honestly, he thought he’d just die on the spot of he passed up the change to be squeezed into one of the small restaurants that Finn frequented. Screw the grand tables of his life. Logan wanted cracked leather booths small enough to let their ankles brush. Not that he’d ever say that out loud.
Finn didn’t disappoint. They walked down the shade of Mott street, then turned at a bakeshop on the corner. Finn pointed at it.
“You’ve been here, haven’t you?”
Logan raised a shoulder. “I don’t get down here much.”
Finn snorted. “Listen to you. Down here. You’re down here enough to pop into my bookstore all the time.”
Logan studied the cakes in the windows, biting his lip when he realized Finn’s eyes were still on him in the reflection. “I…yeah.”
Finn flicked the bill of Logan’s hat which shaded the back of his neck. “How’s that latest book you bought?”
Logan turned away from the window to get them walking again, not sure where they were going but trusting Finn to lead. “I’m starting school, man, I don’t have all the time in the world.”
Finn just laughed. “Come on, let’s catch the 6.”
Logan found himself squeezed into a tiny French restaurant in the West Village that served them even tinier croissants.
“I know the chef,” Finn said popping one he had spread jam and butter on into his mouth. “Dumo. Don’t pay a cent. I fucking love these things.”
Logan would have bought Finn a thousand of the tiny pastries without a blink just to see him lick a bit of jam from his thumb again.
“Dumo doesn’t sound very French…” Logan began cutting up his waffle.
Finn laughed. “Pascal Dumais does.”
“Oh. Yeah, that’s more like it.”
Logan glanced at a woman and her baby, who had started crying. He tried to think of something to say. For someone who’s job seemed to be making small talk at various parties and charming people with his accent—or so his mother sometimes said—he sure was horrible at it.
“So, what’s the suit for?” Finn asked, taking a sip of his black coffee.
“A fashion show,” Logan sighed, hiding his surprise—and maybe delight—at Finn’s unknowing shrug. “It’s…sort of a lot. Lots of people and cameras. And I always have to wear something green.”
Finn hummed in understanding. “It’s the eyes, yeah?”
Logan nodded. “A lot of fast English, too.”
Finn tilted his head. “I didn’t know that was hard for you. You’re perfect.”
Logan tried not to flush and covered it with a shrug. “I lived in France until I was fifteen before we finally moved to my dad. It’s still nice to be able to read lips sometimes. With the flashes and they make it super dark…I don’t know.”
“No, that makes sense,” Finn said, brown eyes soft. He smiled. “Hey, well, if you don’t want to go to the fitting, come man the shop with me. I’d love the company.”
Logan looked at him and ached, but saw his older sister Noelle’s pleading, excited expression in his mind. He might not love the scene, but he loved his sisters. “I wish I could. Really.”
They finished up their food and Logan had to admit that he lingered over his coffee until Finn said he absolutely had to leave.
“Hey, Tremblay,” Finn called from down the sidewalk, and Logan turned in the full knowledge that seeing the smile Finn sent him would only make him want to stay more.
The dutiful son wants the bookshop boy…I don’t know, Lo. How will their royal highnesses feel about that?
“Come buy more books you don’t read soon, okay?”
Logan couldn’t help but smile back. “D’accord.”
Finn walked backwards a few steps, yelling, “And bring me something green!” before turning and jogging down the subway stairs.
Logan laughed as he called his driver to him, escaping the heat for air conditioned leather.
XOXO
Pearls or diamonds, Upper Siders? Armani or Ralph? What, like you have other questions tonight?
Well, I have one for you. A tip from a friendly scroller gave me a peak at tonight’s guest list. Do you think we’re in for more than just a showdown on the runway? Cat fights over cat walks is what I always say.
XOXO.
[Image description: Two name cards reading, from left to right, Leo Knut and Remus Lupin, Sirius Black and Sebastian Montague]
Remus found Julian already dressed and tapping at a game on his phone when he descended the winding staircase of their penthouse.
“You waiting for mom and dad?” Remus said, dropping a kiss to the top of his head.
“And you,” Julian said.
“Right, right,” Remus smoothed his black tuxedo, trying to ignore the subtle glint of blue-silver embroidered into the black velvet. His mother was a planner—which Remus liked usually—but this design had not aged well. This suit had a twin that it no longer belonged with. Remus clenched his jaw as he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He’d hoped wearing it would feel like defiance.
But it only felt like he was lonely. He gave his head a hard shake. He had Leo. He couldn’t let New York throw him.
“Gossip Girl’s going crazy. Of course,” Julian said.
“Jules, you shouldn’t read that stuff,” Remus sighed. “It’s just gossip—”
“Just posted about Sirius,” Julian murmured.
Remus huffed, pushing his hair out of its too neat style in the mirror. “So?”
Julian shrugged, but pointedly looked away when Remus took out his own phone.
The photo looked like one from the paparazzi, but the sight of Sirius on the red carpet made Remus’ throat close up.
I spy a statement piece. Or maybe it’s just a statement. Sirius Black arrives on the red carpet—or should I say black carpet—with none other than New York’s favorite icon, in worship and fashion alike. The Saint of these streets is looking particularly dashing tonight, hand in hand with the heir of this city. Ouch, Re. Looks like you’ve been dethroned.
Remus stared down at the screen, neck hot. Sirius’ suit sleeves had the barely there leather half moon cut-outs that Remus remembered tracing onto his skin.
Sirius had smiled into their kiss. Think anyone will notice?
Remus had just laughed. Everyone will notice.
But there was Saint, a crown of moonstones in his golden hair.
Remus looked down at his own suit. Of course Saint had thought of a way they’d match, that was all it was, but it still felt like a snub.
“I sort of miss him,” Julian said quietly.
Remus’ heart pulled. He swallowed and clicked his phone off. He looked at Julian, who looked almost sheepish.
“Do you?” Julian asked even more quietly.
“Don’t you like Leo?” Remus asked.
“Of course,” Julian nodded quickly. “But…”
“Remus,” Hope smiled, coming down the stairs arm-in-arm with their father. “Jules. Ready, boys?”
Remus didn’t think saying no was an option. He cleared his throat, pushed his hair back.
“Almost,” he said, backtracking towards the stairs. “Just a second. Gotta call Leo, make sure he hasn’t left yet.”
XOXO
“We can watch a livestream of the red carpet and the show,” Natalie said. “Sit.”
Finn groaned, squished beside Natalie on her tiny sofa. “That feels like I’m stalking him.”
“We’re allowed to stalk the boys we like.”
“You’re dating my brother, Nat. Does this mean you stalked him?”
“It really does,” Alex said, coming in from the kitchen with their margaritas and dropping a kiss to Natalie’s temple.
“Hm,” Natalie smiled up at him, accepting a kiss to her lips. “Scruffy.”
Finn sighed and pulled a knee up to his chest, watching the loading video Natalie had pulled up.
“Your wifi sucks,” he mumbled.
“It’ll load,” Natalie scooted over for Alex and passed Finn his drink.
“Salsa, too,” Finn said, waving it over.
Finally, the video popped up to a view of the red carpet.
“Oh, for fuck’s sake,” Alex said.
“Be nice,” Natalie laughed. “It’s fashion!”
“Look,” Alex sighed. “I know they’re wealthy and it’s suppose to be all, I don’t know sandy beaches and wristwatches, but not a single one of these people look remotely happy. Like take a look at this guy—“
Finn looked over the sandy-haired man posing in front of the cameras—well, not posing, really. Kasey Winter, the commentators were saying.
“Nice hair,” Natalie crunched on a chip. “And listen to that, his mother’s one of the biggest producers at Weird Sisters Records.”
“Fine, but he looks like he’s ready to kill someone. I mean, anyone else think its kind of fucked up that the New York families go to a New York university where New York businesses draw from New York’s elite?”
“Yes,” Finn and Natalie said in unison.
And then there was Logan.
Finn let out an embarrassing sound and set his drink down, leaning forward.
Logan walked out in front of the cameras with three girls—his sisters, Finn remembered. Not to mention he followed all of them on Instagram. They had a lot of shoes, sure, but they seemed all right.
“I saw this thing on Gossip Girl about one of the sisters,” Natalie said. “She—”
“Nat, why the hell do you read that?”
Natalie shot him a look. “Like you don’t.”
Finn ignored them, too focused on the dark, nearly black, velvety green cape—or was it cloak?—that covered Logan’s shoulders down to above his elbows, falling to an elegant point at the small of his back over his black suit. The sisters had a similar get-up in one way or another—a green train, a shawl, a corset. Logan’s clasp was a silver fleur-de-lis.
“Green,” Finn breathed.
“What?” Alex asked.
Finn bit the inside of his cheek at Logan’s expression. It was meant to be blank, Finn thought, at-ease and untouchable, but it came off almost enticing. His dark eyelashes swept against his cheeks. Finn watched his throat bob around a swallow, his adored eyes shifting from flash to flash.
“Nothing,” Finn answered his brother.
“How’d you meet this kid anyway, Fish?” his brother asked.
“I was closing up shop about a month ago,” Finn said. “And he stopped at one of our windows. Looked like he’d run the entire island, he was breathing so hard. Not to mention it was pouring like nothing else. Thought he was gonna pass out, so I unlocked the door and let him in to get dry. I don’t know, he was kind of shy at first. Listened to me talk for about an hour before he started giving anything back.” Finn shrugged, watching Logan walk off screen. “I invite him to play basketball with me, Morg, and Percy now. We get lunch after sometimes.”
Natalie sighed. “He looked like one unhappy camper.”
“I think his family puts a lot of pressure on him. He’s the baby. Only son. All that bullshit.”
“I kind of want that cape,” Natalie said.
Alex sighed. “That’s the idea.”
Natalie slapped his chest, then kissed his cheek, and Finn watched Logan walk off-screen.
XOXO
“What say you, Capulet?”
Sirius looked down at Saint at his shoulder. “They’re out of crab puffs.”
“Boo,” Saint said. “You still closing the show?”
“Yep.”
“Shouldn’t you be in hair and makeup?”
“Yep.”
Saint stepped in front of him, the gold band of moonstones nestled in his curls glinting in the dark stage lights. “Looking for someone?”
Sirius just reached out and ran a gentle thumbnail beneath where Saint’s golden eyeliner had smudged against his brown skin, striking it back to a point. “Nope. See you after the show.”
Saint clucked his tongue. “I’m unimpressed.”
“What else is new?” Sirius said.
Saint went to smile, when his eyes flickered behind Sirius and he raised his eyebrows. “That.”
Sirius turned around, and quickly schooled his expression. The cameras were going wild, and in front of all the flashing lights was Remus, hand-in-hand with Leo Knut.
“They make a sunshine pair,” Saint said from beside him. “How’re you feeling?”
Sirius touched two fingers to one of the black-leather moons on his jacket sleeve. They were meant to go with Remus’ stars. He remembered planning for them. He’d thought…part of him had thought if he’d worn them tonight—
“Cloudy sky,” he replied to Saint.
“I was gonna say dappled sunlight in…” Saint glanced around. “A dark forest.”
Remus and Leo were wearing dress shirts, collars rumpled and unbuttoned at their throats, each in a smooth shade of cream. Their hands, decked out in golden rings, were laced together, and they both wore pale gray slacks, slim cut, and laceless nikes.
My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun…hmm, but don’t I spy some burning jealous?
“What are we going for here,” Saint raised an eyebrow. “Left in a hurry and didn’t get the dress code?”
“We’re going against me,” Sirius replied, slipping his hands into his pockets and trying to stand straight. “That’s all.”
“Sunlight in a dark forest, indeed.”
Sirius watched them looking out over the flashes, and tried not to look surprised when golden eyes met his own. Remus’ expression didn’t change either. Instead, he simply blinked, then looked away. Leo, tall and lean, leaned into his ear, and Remus smiled. The cameras popped like champagne.
I love right here, Sirius remembered his own voice, the feeling of the soft skin by Remus’ eye beneath his thumb. I love right here when you smile.
“I need to get backstage,” Sirius said shortly, and turned on his heel.
“I’ll be watching.”
“Don’t I know,” Sirius called as he weaved his way through the crowd, heading backstage. The woman with a radio in her ear looked annoyed and nervous when he slipped past her, and radioed that he had arrived to whoever it was that needed to know.
“Sirius!” Alice called, hands full of makeup brushes and up in the air. “Jesus Christ, do you think I have all fucking night?”
Sirius shrugged out of his red carpet jacket—which someone took—and slid into her chair. “Sorry, Al.”
She twirled a protective cape around his shoulders, snapping it at the base of his neck. “It’s a good thing you’re pretty. But then again, I think everyone’s pretty.”
Sirius closed his eyes, letting her begin. “People are.”
Alice had just finished contour when Sirius all but felt his mother’s presence. A shift in the air. A cooler wind. People standing up straighter and shivering.
“Sirius,” his mother’s face appeared in the mirror. Her red lipstick was the brightest thing about her, and even that was almost mauve. Her dress was tight around her breasts, but cascaded in thick waves of velvet behind her, and she wore tall leather boots. It almost looked like armor. “You’re very late, darling.”
“Sorry,” Sirius said. “Saint and I got caught up in the crowd, I guess.”
She hummed. “You two looked fetching out there. He’s much more pleasing than that other boy ever was. His family is important, too.”
It was true, that his mother had never liked Remus much. Though, Sirius couldn’t compare him and Saint. They were two different oceans.
“Get dressed,” his mother breathed, and was already snapping her fingers at one of the other models before Sirius could say another word.
“All right?” Alice asked him quietly.
Sirius looked at himself in the mirror. Her contour made his face look almost gaunt, as was the general makeup for all of the models, and he knew he’d be given dark eye makeup next, his hair fluffed into perfect curls.
“Fine,” Sirius said, and closed his eyes to let her work.
Sirius was shrugging into his given outfit—a billowing longcoat, 20th century in fashion, and a longer tunic made almost entirely of the thinnest black silk. It would shimmer when he walked, he knew, and his tall, lace-up boots, the flat sole so thin and delicate that he almost felt barefoot, would disappear beneath the shimmer. His mother was cold, stubborn, and cruel sometimes, an unfeeling, yawning sort of dark, but she was talented.
“Lord Vader,” came a voice from behind him, and Sirius laughed even before he turned to face Thomas Walker.
“Sounds about right,” Sirius said, and they clasped hands, pulling them into a one-armed hug. “You look fantastic, though.”
Thomas spun slowly on his heel, letting the long, loose fitting white linen of his button-down—which went out in two, tuxedo-like tails at his back—flare out above his slim, black trousers. He wore a thin scarf of distressed wool.
“Like a fallen gentleman, no?” Thomas grinned. “I might try and steal these pants. And maybe the shirt for Noelle.”
“Oh, yeah,” Sirius smiled, spying Noelle’s green eyes behind his shoulder. “She’ll love that.”
Noelle wrapped her arms, which were draped in a transparent green cloth, around Thomas’ waist. “Thanks for thinking of me, T baby.”
Thomas laughed in surprise. “Who let you back stage?”
“I’m a Tremblay, they’ll let us in anywhere.”
Thomas turned his head to capture Noelle in a soft kiss.
“See you after, hm?” Noelle said. “I’m gonna go say hi to my friend, she’s walking tonight, too.”
“Yeah, we’ll ride to Honeyduke’s together.”
Noelle raised an eyebrow at him. “You coming, Black?”
“Saint all but owns the place,” Sirius said. “Of course I am.”
Sirius walked. He didn’t look down, or hear the cameras. It wasn’t his favorite thing in the world, to be up here, not able to see past the lights—but something tonight was different. It felt as it had the night of his and Remus’ first kiss.
In that show, he had had one, thin line of black lipstick traced over the center of his bottom lip. It had marked Remus’ throat and cheeks like soot by the end of it all.
Remus had been waiting for him back stage.
“Come here,” Remus had whispered, and laced their fingers together.
“Where?” Sirius had answered, surprised by their palms pressing together.
But it hadn’t been a place. Remus had pressed them back in between clothing racks, and crashed their mouths together.
Here, Remus had whispered, and kissed him again.
Sirius felt the absence of the stage lights like a wash of cold air, and he stretched out his back, letting his stony face drop a little. He glanced around, but there was no one to be found. His cheeks were warm just thinking about it.
“Good,” his mother said as he passed her by to take off the makeup, and that was all.
XOXO
Saint looked across Honeyduke’s and felt like it was his. Logan was laughing with Thomas and Noelle, and he had Kasey Winter beside him, securing tickets to one of their favorite bands to see together.
“Done,” Kasey said, and flashed one of his rare smiles.
“I knew you were my favorite,” Saint took a sip of his drink, and Kasey scoffed.
“Me or my mom?”
“Maybe a little of both. Oh, and we’re going to sushi beforehand.”
Kasey’s smile was larger now. “Wouldn’t have it any other way. You gonna leave with that drummer again? What’s her name?”
Saint smiled. “Oh, Sally. And I make it a habit to always leave with the drummer.”
Kasey just shook his head. “Yeah, yeah. I’m getting a drink and leaving you to your one-liners.”
Saint watched him go, feeling settled, and set about scanning the room for Sirius. He was sure he’d know if he was there—people tended to swarm to Sirius, even if he didn’t ask for it. It was part of the reason they were so close. People flocked to Saint, too. So, they asked for each other’s company. A more intimate, calm part of life. Sirius was quiet. Saint wasn’t, but he let Saint , for a moment, be that way, too. Saint was loud. Sirius wasn’t, but Saint had his ways to fire him up.
“Another drink, sir?”
Saint looked over his shoulder, only to turn all the way around, interest peaked. The bartender had sandy hair, and a strong jaw, his cheeks textured by acne scars in some places. He had brown eyes—save for a sliver of green in one.
“Only if you have one with me,” Saint said, and glanced down at his name-tag. “Luke.”
Luke arched an eyebrow, pressing the heels of his palms onto the bar between them, revealing rolled up sleeves and some type of vine tattoo, wrapping all around both of his forearms.
“I’m working, sir.”
“Is that a later?” he nodded at the tattoo. “Nice.”
“I don’t think so,” Luke said.
“Oh, no?”
Luke scowled—how did he look so handsome doing that?
“Do you make it a habit to go home with all the waiters, too?”
Saint didn’t let his expression flicker, just smiled nice and slow.
“Hillrock,” Saint said. “Neat.”
The barkeep turned away.
Ouch. Looks like not everyone worships at your alter, Saint.
XOXO
The elevator doors opened, revealing the party to Sirius one outfit after the next. He had changed for the afterparty—the first of three. He wore a tight, thin black t-shirt and dark jeans. He hadn’t bothered to wash off the dark, smudged eyeliner from the show. His combat boots went up to just below his knee, and had the same nearly naked feeling sole. It made him feel soundless, like a shadow.
Maybe that’s why it was easy to find Remus and stand beside him without him stirring.
“You’re a little underdressed,” Sirius said without looking at him.
“Says the boy wearing a t-shirt,” Remus replied evenly.
Sirius scowled. “I meant at the show.”
“People like to be surprised,” Remus replied evenly.
“Who’s Leo?”
“My boyfriend.”
Sirius turned towards him. “You didn’t tell me you were coming home.”
Remus matched him. They were nearly chest to chest. “You didn’t say a word to me in class.”
“You didn’t—“
“I had the last word,” Remus snapped. “I figured maybe you’d finally have something to say back.”
Sirius stared at him, heart pounding in his ears. For a moment, he let himself look. At the golden eyes, hair more blond than ever from the summer’s sun. Sirius couldn’t stand that mouth set in a frown.
“Guess not,” Remus said softly, lips dropping open in the way they used to before they kissed.
Sirius all but felt him vanish into the writhing crowd.
XOXO
Finn looked up when a flash of color on the morning-silent street outside caught his eye. He set the books he was holding down, took the pen out from between his teeth.
Green.
“What the hell?” Finn laughed as he pulled open the door to his bookshop to find Logan standing there. “It’s five in the fucking morning, what are you doing here? Couldn’t sleep?”
“Never did,” Logan said, and that’s when Finn saw that Logan was still in his suit from the livestream.
“Ah, I see,” Finn said, eyes flicking up and down his broad form. He swallowed dryly. “The nature of afterparties, I suppose. Well, you—you look good. For someone who’s been up all night, I mean.”
Logan just smiled, one of his small, secretive ones. Finn watched as he stepped forward so they were almost toe to toe in the doorway.
“Wh…” Finn’s voice dropped off with a breathless laugh. He couldn’t help but look at Logan’s mouth. His full lips that could speak a language Finn couldn’t even begin to describe.
Logan just reached up to the base of his own throat and unclipped the fleur-de-lis clasp there. In one smooth swoop, he drew his short cloak from his shoulders and around Finn’s, right over his worn gray t-shirt, clicking it in place. The fabric brought a gentle scent, and he figured it must be Logan’s cologne.
“Something green,” Logan said softly. A warm, early morning breeze ruffled his hair, pushing the curls forward. Finn couldn’t move. “What are you doing here?”
“Inventory,” Finn whispered, then cleared his throat. “Inventory.”
“Okay,” Logan said. “I’ll help.”

Weird Theory
My brain always comes out with strange thoughts.
Because I'm a person whose attention lasts less than any of Bond's love interests and I tend to zone out frequently. I have a lot of time to think, in conclusion.
I guess I don't need to add anything else.
So, I was thinking about these two.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yep, Vesper and Q.
But what has this to do with anything?
Look at them. Just look at them.
One of the first things I thought after watching Casino Royale and Skyfall, in a close period of time, was how much Vesper reminded me of Q and viceversa.
It would honestly be really bizarre if I was the only one who got this feeling about them.
Now, imagine Q without glasses, or simply search for a picture of Ben, and look at them again.
You'll notice that both:
Have really dark hair;
Have light eyes (I don't actually know if they're green, blue or grey);
They're both cute af.
Second thing: their personalities.
We know that Bond and Vesper literally used to annoy eachother with sarcastic jokes and other things for the majority of the time.
Same thing happened with Q. And I think he might actually be worse.
Vesper and Q are both sarcastic assholes whose relationship with Bond is basically joking about eachother in a really mean way with an absolute professionalism.
They aren't just assholes: they have style.
Also, they aren't dangerous. At least they don't look like they are. But if even if they could get dangerous, that's not what they do, they aren't spies like Bond.
So, here's the thing.
I started making up this theory about why we ship 00Q so bad.
Vesper and Q are basically the gender swapped version of eachother. I think you got that by now.
And I think we ship 00Q so bad because Q reminds us of Vesper and we unconsciously know that Bond has the same feeling about all of this.
I know this might be really boring and foregone, maybe we all think the same, but I still want you to follow my reasoning.
Just think about this: at first Bond doesn't really notices this resemblance, but after their first conversation and Q's sarcastic jokes, he notices that he has met another sneering brunet.
That's why he smiles, in the end, when they first meet.
Tumblr media
This resemblance is also what gives us that 00Q chemistry they seem to have from the first instant. They basically get along really well.
Because Bond is a sarcastic asshole in his own way: he constantly crosses the line between being sassy and being an asshole and only someone who can do that too can deal with him.
Vesper and Q actually can think and talk like he does. In fact, they're two of the few elects who know how to act around 007.
M, for example, doesn't get along really well with Bond. Both Mallory and Olivia had a totally different approach, which didn't really work.
But I don't actually think that Q and Vesper are Bond's type. I'm not even sure he has a specific type.
Why do I say this?
Because of Madeleine.
Tumblr media
Madeleine Swann was something completely different.
Firstly, she doesn't look like Vesper nor Q and she acts differently from them.
For example, at first she literally hates Bond and behaves stubbornly and aggressively towards him, instead of playing his game.
That's not something that really works.
She obviously had fair reasons to act like that, but even after getting along with Bond, she still acts like she's got her full guard on.
If Vesper and Q are smooth and sarcastic, Madeleine is more defensive. Which is different from making up mean jokes.
The fact is this: Madeleine comes from Bond's same environment. Her father took part into Spectre's business and Bond is a spy. They aren't that different.
While this could be a cute thing and a better way for them to get along, it's actually a disvantage.
Why?
Because if they're the same, they're both mistrustful, broken and defensive.
At first it seems a good idea, but if they've both got their guard on there's no one who can put it down.
Vesper had to do with spies and that stuff, but she wasn't a spy herself, she also got really scared from all that was happening in that hotel.
She wasn't like Bond and we know that.
That's why I think she really got along with 007: aside being a difficult woman to hit on, which I think is a thing Bond likes, she was actually able to pull his guard down.
Think about the shower scene.
Tumblr media
Yep, this one.
Seeing Bond acting like that it's not really an usual thing.
Now, I'm not saying that Bond's love interest to be the right one must heal him, it would actually be impossible. I'm just saying that it needs to be something really different from what he's used to.
Vesper was actually a safe place and we notice it because Bond is comfortable around her. Same with Q.
In both cases, there's chemistry, given by their continuous jokes that actually sound pretty flirty sometimes.
The only thing similar to this that we got with Madeleine was this scene:
Tumblr media
- You shouldn't stare -
- And you shouldn't look like that -
Nothing else.
Thinking about it, whenever Bond is comfortable, it usually becomes a battle with jokes: Vesper, Q, Moneypenny, Kincade...
SARCASM EVERYWHERE
I didn't notice the same with Madeleine.
I'm really sorry, I don't know why I ended up talking this much about Madeleine. Even if it actually worked for proving my point.
So, we ship 00Q so much because they have the same chemistry that there was between Vesper and Bond. Even thought 00Q isn't romantically canon.
It works and I'm waiting for the producers to notice it too.
Also, Q is designed to be Bond's antithesis. Which reconnects to the previous argument about 007 and Madeleine being not that different.
Tumblr media
Look at them.
Let's start with how they appear:
Bond: he's wearing a suit, it might not be a proper one but it's still a suit, and somehow everything matches. Hair strategically short. He looks scary and robust as always;
Q: he tried to look like he's wearing a suit (I like to think Moneypenny made him change clothes last-minute), but actually those checkered trousers don't match the jacket and he's wearing that coat that I can't decide whether it is a raincoat or a parka. His hair are less strategic than Bond's one and are more or less curly. He wears glasses, which only make him look younger than he actually is, and he's thin.
In resume, Bond comes from a military world and you can actually see it, while Q is more or less a normal citizen.
Y'all, it was made on purpose.
The second point of all of this, which is a consequence of the first, is that they come from different environments.

I'm sorry I couldn't find a better image.
Now, let's analyze this.
Bond: *007 mode: successfully turned on* he's wearing a proper suit this time, he's even got a bow tie. Hair always strategically short and he looks as scary as always;
Vesper: she doesn't actually dress like that, in fact it was Bond's suggestion. Also, it's clear that she prefers her hair collected (she keeps them loose only in this scene and right before she dies). While you can clearly see a killer mode in Bond's eyes, she look rather nervous and unsure. She always wears that layer necklace, which is a thing a person like Bond would never do because it makes someone an easily identifiable target.
In conclusion, Vesper clearly comes from a different environment, exactly like Q.
Vesper and Q don't belong in the violence and distress Bond is used to, despite Q working for the MI6. That's another reason why we ship 00Q: we apparently like the contrast between a dangerous and innocent looking character.
Summing up this incredibly long and shitty post (which, at least, has got ✨pictures✨), we ship 00Q because of all of the resemblances between Vesper and Q and because Q is a cinnamon roll.
We're also convinced that Bond as well knows how much they are similar.
I'm so sorry, people: this post was just a late night kind of freak out, so it might make absolutely no sense sometimes. But this has just gone too far to actually delete the post and it is really clever in some parts.
