Welcome To Auradon Prep!

A/N: Part 1! I wasn’t sure about adding the singing, but I did it anyone and I hope it’s still good and that y’all enjoy it.

Bold/Italics means singing.

Once upon a time, long, long ago. Well, more like 20 years ago. Belle married her Beast in front of 6,000 of their closest, personal friends.

Big cake.

Yeah, so instead of a honeymoon, Beast, united all of the kingdoms and got himself elected king of the United States of Auradon.

He rounded up all the villains and sidekicks, basically all the really interesting people, and he booted them to the Isle of the Lost, with a magical barrier to keep them there.

This is my hood.

No magic. No Wi-Fi.

No. Way. Out.

Or so I thought.

Hang on, you're about to meet us.

But first this happened.

In a quite a lovely place, where they had nothing to fear, as long as they were across from the Isle. But never mind that, we're here to talk about a certain son of the King and Queen, who was having his outfit measured for his crowning, as his parents walking into the room.

"How is it possible that you're gonna be crowned king next month? You're just a baby!" Said the Beast, walking in arm in arm, with Belle.

"He's turning 16, dear." She said with a slight flick of her wrist, in her husband's direction.

"Hey, Pops-" Ben was about to say, but was caught off with his father's astonishment, as him being in fact, sixteen.

"That's far too young to be crowned king. I didn't make a good decision until I was at least 42." The Beast says as Belle walks around to her husbands left, and looks at her slightly offended.

"Uh. You decided to marry me at 28."

"It was either you or a teapot." He winked, and Ben laughs at his parents, loving that they were still able to joke around without hurting ones feelings.

Ben then decided it would be a good time to tell them, what his first decision would to make would be.

"Mom, Dad.."

Ben taking a step forward, but the tailor taking his measurements, gave him a look, as if to not move, and Ben backed up.

"I've chosen my first official proclamation." He says proudly, but with a bit of nervousness sprinkled in. But his parents looked at him amazed and listened to what he it was.

"I've decided that the children on to the Isle of the Lost be given a chance, to live here in Auradon."

His mother lets out a little 'huh?' and drops the clothing item that was once in her hands, but now on the floor.

Ben steps off the stand and walks to his parents. "Every time I look out to the island, I feel like they've been abandoned."

"The children of our sworn enemies? Living among us?"

"We start out with a few at first, only ones who need our help the most."

His mother nods, slowly but surely giving into the idea at first.

"I've already chosen them."

Ben's dad steps closer still not sold onto the idea. "Have you?"

"I gave you a second chance." His mother said holding onto her husbands arm. "Who are their parents?"

"Cruella de Vil, Jafar, Evil Queen, Dr. Facilier, and....Maleficent." Ben says as the tailor yelps, dropping his note pad.

"Maleficent! She is the worst villain in the land!"

"Dad, just hear me out here.."

"I won't hear of it! They are guilty of unspeakable crimes." He yells, as the tailor leaves the room, and the butlers close the door behind them.

"Dad, their children are innocent. Don't you think they deserve a shot at a normal life? Dad?"

His father looks at his wife, and she looks at him, as if to say, this is your decision.

"I suppose the children are innocent." He says walking away, and Belle walks up to her son, fixing his suit.

"Well...Well done."

They smile as each other and Belle and the Beast leave together, arm in arm. And Ben looks out the window to look at the Isle, messing with his ring.

I smirk as I was standing next to Mal. She was spray painting 'Long Live Evil,' onto a wall of some building. She turns around and hands it to me.

They say I'm trouble

And that makes me glad.

I laugh and we begin to walk away and walk on each side of the person walking towards us, I shove the can in there hands, and Mal purposely bumps there shoulder, causing me to snicker.

A dirty no-good

They think I'm callous

Mal, Evie and I meet up, me on Mal's right. As Jay walks onto something like a tight rope on some roofs. And Carlos wakes people up, but walking and jumping on there beds.

We join together at a gate and pull on it, and then go in one behind the other.

We all just start to push and throw things at people, before grabbings sticks and pipes and bang them against the barrels and pipes.

Call me a schemer

Mal spray paints an 'M,' into a white sheet before pulling it open to reveal something taking a bath, she eyes the crystal ball, some fortune teller was using and nicked it from her.

What, me a traitor

Ain't got your back

What's up with that

Jay swings in, grabbing a tea pot and pretends to pour imaginary tea in the cups before climbing over the table and taking the teapot with him.

So I'm a misfit

Evie, runs in between some scarves, before pulling on the some guys, spinning his around, before leaving him, staring at her.

The past is past

Forgive, forget

The truth is

You ain't seen nothing yet

Carlos runs up and jumps on the table, reaching a hand out to me and I take it running along, behind him watching him kick everything on the table. Before letting me walk past him, he kicks up a bucket and puts it on some ladies head. I hurry to sit on the cart with the hay, and he does the same holding onto me, throwing some of the hay in the ladies direction, with a smirk.

"Come on!" Carlos says to Jay and I run with them.

I take a breather, resting my elbow on Carlos' shoulder, looking forward. But unbeknownst to my knowledge, I didn't notice Carlos was looking at me.

We watch Mal take a lollipop from a baby, turning around and licking it. We all erupt in laughter, before two of Maleficent's minions walk up and everyone starts screaming and running.

"Hi, Mom." Mal says turning around to greet her mother.

"Stealing candy, Mal? I'm so disappointed."

Mal thinks for a bit before, saying she took it from a baby.

"That's my nasty little girl." Her mom says taking it, spitting on it, putting it in her pit and telling one of her minions to give it back.

"Mom.."

"It's the deets, Mal, that make the difference between mean and truly evil. When I was your age I was cursing entire kingdoms." Her mom said as Mal repeated the last couple words, having she's probably heard it over a million times.

"You...Walk with me. See, I'm just trying to teach you the thing that really counts, how to be me." She says as Jay, moves in closer to the three of us, watching this whole thing go down.

"I know that. And I'll do better."

"Oh. There's news. I buried the lead." Maleficent says throwing her hands up in the air. "You five have been chosen to go to a different school, in Auradon."

As soon as she says Auradon, we all jump and try to run away, but get caught in a tight hold by her minions.

"What? I'm not going to some boarding school, filled to the brim with prissy pink princesses!"

"And perfect princes." Evil says walking up with a smile on her face, before saying 'ugh,' realizing what she had just said.

"I hear they have more classes then what we do here. Why do more of something there, that I don't even do here?" I said standing behind them next to Jay, as Jay nods and points at me.

"Yeah, and I don't do uniforms. Unless it's leather. You feel me?" He says with a laugh raising a hand to get a high five from Carlos, but he took a step forward, and I high five him instead.

"I read somewhere that they allow dogs in Auradon. Mom said they're rabid pack animals who eat boys who don't behave." He says as Jay comes up and barks in his ears and scares him, and I laugh out loud. Carlos looks at me, his face practically turning as red as Jay's beanie.

"Yeah, Mom, we're not going."

"Oh. You're thinking small, pumpkin. It's all about world domination. Knuckleheads!" She exclaims as her minions follow her. "Mal.." And she turns around and follows her mother.

"You will go. You will find the Fairy Godmother and you will bring me back her magic wand." She says filing down her nails or her claws. "Easy-peasy."

"What's in it for us?"

"Matching thrones. Hers-and-hers crowns."

"I think she meant us." Carlos says motioning to the five of us.

Maleficent tosses her file, and Mal steps closer. "It's all about you and me, baby. Do you enjoy watching innocent people suffer?"

"Well, yeah, I mean, who doesn't.."

"Well, then get me the wand and you and I can see all that and so much more. And with that wand and my scepter, I will be able to bend both good and evil to my will!"

"Our will." The Evil Queen says moving the mirror from out of her face. As Cruella points at her, and Jafar looks at Maleficent.

"Our will, our will." She corrects, bringing Mal's attention back to her. "And if you refuse, you're grounded for the rest of your life, missy."

"What...Mom..."

Maleficent silenced her, and then they had stared into each others eyes, but in the end Maleficent did reign victorious.

"Evie. My little Evil-ette in training." The Evil Queen says calling her over. "You just find yourself a prince with a big castle and a mother-in-law wing. And lots and lots of mirrors."

"Well, they're not taking my Carlos, because I'd miss him too much." Cruella said to her son, putting a hand on the side of his head, as Maleficent just puts her head in her hands, annoyance etched into the barely visible wrinkles that peppered along her face.

"Really, Mom?" Carlos says hopeful and happy.

"Yes! Who would touch up my roots? Fluff my fur and scrape the bunions off my feet?" She said, lifting up one of her legs for Carlos to hold.

"Yeah, maybe a new school wouldn't be the worst thing." He said dropping her leg and looking anywhere, but at his mom.

"Carlos, they have dogs in Auradon." Cruella says, really trying to convince him to stay. "No! I'm not going!"

"Well, Jay isn't going either. I need him to stock my shelves in my store." Jafar says, pushing Jay a bit, and asks him what'd he steal today, in a hushed tone. Jay shows him all the things he got, but drops them when he sees the lamp, Jay had nicked. Jay watches as his father tries to summon the genie, but Jay is quick to shut him down.

"Dad, I already tried."

He groans and tosses it back to him.

"Evie's not going anywhere until we get rid of this unibrow. Hmm?"

I laugh a little whilst sitting in my little corner, watching everyone's parents try and get them to stay in the Isle. I mess with the crystal ball, Mal had slipped me, on the way here, and stare into it, holding it up to the light. Before seeing myself in it, and I looked down at my talisman. It's a custom made version of the one my Dad has.

I don't know where he is, in all honesty, he told me he'd be back when I turned 16, but that was a couple years ago, I still have hope, but it is slowly wilting away, like a dying flower.

"Hey, (Y/N)?" I close my eyes tight and look away, putting the crystal ball away, before clearing my throat, and letting out a 'Hm?'

"You okay? You look upset?" Carlos said, pulling a chair and sitting next to me. "Oh, I'm fine, Carlos."

"Come on. I know you, (Y/N), and I know that when I ask you, if you're okay, the first sentence to come out of your mouth, is not exactly true." He said, hitting his shoulder up against mine, and I flash a small smile in his direction. “So, tell me, what’s the real reason?”

I sigh, before turning my body to face him. "Fine, I'm just annoyed, that my Dad isn't here to talk to me, like your parents are doing now." He scoffs. "Trust me, you do not want your Dad saying, what my Mom says to me." He says and we laugh. "But I do love her, and her imperfections. And even though you're Dad’s not here, we are. It might not be much, but I hope you'll accept us."

"You know I do." "So, you ready to go see this school for all it's worth?" He said standing holding arm out for me to take, I smirk and take wrapping an arm around his shoulder.

We hurry over to Maleficent near the 'safe,' in the shape of a fridge, taking our her spell book. Cruella moves over to bring his son over to her leaving me standing along near Queen.

"There she is. It doesn't work her, but it will in Auradon. Remember, when we were spreading evil and ruining lives?"

"Like it was yesterday."

"And now, you will be making your own memories." Mal moves her hand to try and grab the spell book, but her mother takes it away last second. "By doing exactly as I tell you." And hits her in the chest with the spell book. Queen closed the safe door, and a car horn beeps.

I grab my belongings, and hold onto my talisman, having a little talk with it, as if it's my Dad. I know he's not here, but no one has to know, I talk into it.

I finish talking into it, and go outside, and wait for everyone else. I put my stuff in the trunk of the car, watching as Jay smoothly placed his hat on the crown hood ornament off and tucked it away, before climbing into the car.

I shake my head, and get in the car.

"Smells like common folk." Queen said, as Mal opened the door.

"Come back here, now!" Cruella says chasing her son, and Carlos threw his bag in the trunk and hopped in bumping into me. "Sorry." I just laugh and shake my head, watching Evie get in the car.

"Carlos! Ingrate."

Mal walks in between Queen and Cruella, holding onto the door looking at her mother. Her mother gives her that one hand gesture saying that she's watching her, before turning around and getting in the limo.

The limo driver starts the car, and I look around, before my eyes set on all the candy they had in the back seat. I notice Jay and Carlos eye each other, before fighting to get to the candy.

While they were doing that, I had gotten hit in the process. "Ow!" They didn't seem to hear me, and they both reached for the sweet treats, and I rolled my eyes. I saw that Carlos had grabbed a handful of candy, and before he could shove it in his mouth. I took a gummy worm.

"This," I start holding the worm out to him, before biting half of it. "is compensation for hitting me." I say before eating the rest of it, and looking out the window.

Jay and Evie eye Carlos with a devilish smirk on their face, but Carlos gives him the, 'don't do it,' eyes. Jay laughs, while Evie day dreams about the dress she'd make for (Y/N) at their wedding, before looking at Mal.

"You're looking a little washed out. Let me help you out." Evie says before pushing her hand away from her face. "Ew. Stop! I'm plotting."

"Well, it's not very attractive." Evie replied, trying to big a rock candy lollipop.

Mal grabs the remote that opens a little window to see the limo driver. And the bridge. "Look!" Evie exclaimed. "It's a trap!" Carlos yells and we scream and try to hid or do something, but there isn't much we can do! We hold onto each other for dear life.

Mal holding onto Evie, Evie onto Jay onto Carlos, and Carlos onto me.

We're going to die!

We're going to...float?

Everyone begins to let everyone go, but I don't notice I'm holding onto Carlos's hand tightly, and let it go.

"Sorry.." I say, not meeting his eyes. "It's okay...hey (Y/N)?"

"Did this little button just open the magic barrier?"

"No, this one opens the magic barrier." He says holding up the remote. "That one opens my garage. And this open.." he says pressing a button to close the little window in the limo.

"Okay..." Mal says with a laugh. "Nasty. I like that guy."

"Carlos, What we're you going to say to me before?"

I said, turning him so he was facing me.

"I was- nothing, it can wait." He turns and stuffs his face full of candy again.

We arrive at Auradon Prep, and I look around from the window. Watching as people held up 'welcoming' signs, and waving flags and everything. 'They really pulled out all the stops for this one, didn't they?' I thought to myself.

They even had a literal marching band.

The limo driver opened the door, only for a fighting Jay and Carlos to fall out, shouting at each other.

"You got everything else, why do you want whatever this is?"

"'Cause you want it!"

"No!"

And the rest of us got out, as Fairy Godmother, emerged from behind the marching band.

"Guys, guys, guys." Mal said trying to get them to stop. "We have an audience."

"Carlos, up." I say, as Jay helps him to his feet.

"Leave it like you found it! And by that I mean just leave it." Said Fairy Godmother.

Mal turns to the boys and the reluctantly throw the items back in the limo.

Jay turns and sees girl standing near Fairy Godmother, and walks up to her. "Hello, foxy."

We look at each other ready to just bust out laughing. "The name's Jay." He says, as the girl just laughs. And the Fairy Godmother, welcomes us to Auradon Prep.

"I'm Fairy Godmother. Headmistress." She says bowing to us slightly.

"The Fairy Godmother? As in "bibbidi-bobbidi-boo"?"

"Bibbidi-bobbidi, you know it!"

"Yeah, I always wondered what it felt like for Cinderella, when you just appeared out of nowhere, with that sparkly wand and warm smile."

I turn to her and realize what she was doing, she's trying to get information on where the wand is.

Smart.

"That was a long time ago. And as I always say, "Don't focus on the part of you'll miss the future!""

"It's so good to finally meet you all. I'm Ben." Ben said taking a step forward.

"Prince Benjamin." The girl next to him said, correcting him. "Soon to be King." She said smiling, looking at him with adoration.

'Either she likes him, or they're dating.' I thought to myself making a mental note of that. It might not come in handy later on, but it's good to make note of such thing.

Evie steps up getting closer to Ben. "You had me a prince. My mom's a queen. Which makes me a princess."

The girl next to Ben, shakes her head. "The Evil Queen has no royal status here and neither do you." She says to Evie as Ben chuckles a bit, probably trying to defuse the tension, and Evie backs away, a little hurt.

"This is Audrey." Ben introduces, but she corrects him again.

"Princess Audrey. His girlfriend."

Now, I was thinking about standing up there, but decided to bite my tongue.

"Well...Ben and Audrey are going to show you all around, and I'll see you tomorrow."

"It is so, so, so good to finally meet you all." Ben walks up to Jay, and he punches his chest, knocking a bit of wind out of him.

Ben goes down the line and shakes all our hands. And as Ben was giving his speech Mal cuts him off. "Or the day that you showed us five people's where the bathrooms are."

Disney Descendants Random Headcanons (Part 1);

(No Kids Born Pre D1 Addition since I don't have the full list yet).

Let me Know if I'm missing any characters because I'm well aware I'm missing more than a few.

Akio (number 42): He is the son of Tomiko (from Elena of Avalor).

Ally: Her dad is Pinocchio, making Pin her younger brother.

Amber Dearly: She's a waitress but still does beauty pageant events when they're in season.

Anthony Tremaine: Jacob Lathyn (The Baker from Cinderella 2) is his dad.

Anxelin Fitzherbert: She's Goth.

Arabella: She's morally gray (and had ill intentions when she stole her granddad's trident).

Ariana Rose: Grows less jealous of Audrey over time and cuts contact with their grandmother. Is very popular in college.

Artie Pendragon: Somehow ends up with a pet dragon. No one knows how it happened.

Audrey Rose: Goes on to be the CEO she always wanted to be.

Aziz: He takes after his mother in looks and personality.

Bashful Jr.: He goes by Bash and is very popular in school.

Beezlebub (The Cat): Beelzebub is the Lucifer's least favorite kitten.

Ben: Likes building miniature models and wanted to be in a band with Ben and Lonnie when he was a kid.

Big Murph: He lost his eye as a kid when rough housing with the Gaston Twins.

Bobby Hood: He's Tiger Peony's boyfriend and a sports commentator at school.

Bobby Radcliffe: is a good friend of Artie Pendragon and is very shy.

Bonny: Is the medic of Uma's crew.

Carina Potts: Wears a cooking pot as a hat.

Carlos de Vil: He becomes Henry's mentor and gets Beelzebub back.

Carter: The 'nice' twin.

Celia Facilier: Goes on to be a very successful business woman (in whatever you think she'd go on to do).

Chaca: She's Li Shang Jr's girlfriend and Kuzco is very protective of her, much to her and his wife's bemusement.

Chad Charming: Redeems himself sometime after d3 and leaves to find himself.

Cheerful: Is emo.

Chip Potts: Babysat Ben a lot when he was younger. Has 13 siblings. He works at the castle.

Chloe Charming: Learned a lot of what she knows in ROAR from Lonnie.

Claudine Frollo: She had red hair and is left handed.

Clay Clayton: He's a party animal and is very hard to take out in a fight.

Crabby: is actually quite pleasant to be around.

Crocodile Descendants: They love tormenting Captain Hook and wrestling.

Cubby: He handles Neverland Academy's finances.

Danny Darling-Cooper: He's good at tourney and ROAR.

Derek: He's a selective mute and carries a bell around to get his friends' attention when they're arguing.

Derelict (Electric Eel): He's the friendly eel.

Desiree: She's one of the most wild pirate kids. Even when compared to her crewmates.

Diego de Vil: His most popular song is titled 'Kill the Beast'.

Dizzy Tremaine: She joins Evie's business when she graduates and her jewelry becomes very popular.

Doc II: Goes by Raphael.

Doug: Evie helps him meet his favorite band (The Dragon Players) on his 21st birthday.

Dude (The Dog): He is jealous of Beelzebub.

Eddie Balthazar: He is always tired.

Eliza: She becomes more of a rebel as she grows up and is always backing Jane up when FG gets difficult (like most parents do).

Elle: She's adopted.

Emir (number 26): He's Aziz's younger brother and is a lot like his dad, personality wise. He does not like his mom's cousins.

Evie: She is Dizzy's half sister.

Finn the Mer-Boy: He works at neverland academy but also remains as Neverland's Protectors (kicking entitled tourist out when they cause too much non fun trouble/damage).

Freddie Facilier: Is banned from being alone with Jordan because those two are just as bad as Ally and Cj when alone together.

Gaston Jr.: He relates a lot to Luisa Madrigal. He also walks with a limp after a failed escape attempt he and his father attempted (he nearly drowned).

Gaston The 3rd.: He's the smart twin.

Gesundheit: Cannot for the life of him spell his name.

Gil: Has stolen a penguin from the zoo with Jay, Chad, Harry, and Carlos before.

Ginny Gothel: Is allergic to flowers. Her middle name is flower.

Gordon: Is a mechanic.

Hadie: Has a villain phase as a teen that no one takes seriously.

Hamish of DunBroch: He works with bears.

Hana: She is the royal party planner in her kingdom.

Hap: He's a hippie/hipster mixture and has a van he customized himself.

Harriet Hook: She has a hip high rose tattoo and broke Anthony Tremaine's nose once when she was 12.

Harris of DunBroch: Will not hesitate to bite people in fights even as an adult.

Harry Badun: He is a detective and has made it his job to make everyone behind the isle and every bad isle adult's lives hell. He will also make up outrageous theories to mess with people he doesn't like.

Harry Hook: Is good at art and has Dyscalculia.

Henry: He's a long lost de Vil.

Herkie: He has his dad's personality and strength but his mama's brain and kinda looks like a blend of his parents.

Hermie Bing: She has a variety of circus related skills, loves clowns, has a sweet tooth, and wears very colorful clothes.

Hubert of DunBroch: Loves reminding his sister of how she turned him into a bear all the time.

Hunter de Vil: His influencer career takes off when the barrier is brought down.

Ivy de Vil: She's allergic to hair dye and becomes a great model when off the isle.

Izzy: She's ROAR instructor at Neverland Academy.

Jace Badun: His mom was a strong woman at the Ringmaster's circus. He is the most exasperated person you will ever meet.

Jack/Korak: He prefers 'Korak' over Jack. He takes after his dad looks wise but his mom personality and fashion wise.

Jade: She has tons of scars from the crocodile wrestling.

Jake: Because of him, Princess Pirate, Finn, Stormy, Marina, Izzy, and Cubby all grew up.

James Brown Jr.: He works at a candy shop.

Jane: She's a big gossip and she and Carlos both bonded over this.

Jane Darling-Cooper: She's a teaching assistant at Neverland Academy.

Jay: He sleeps with a stuffed tiger but will deny it if asked.

Jenna: She's Aziz's oldest sibling and is the heir to the throne. She has a pet Elephant.

Jonas: He's Uma's cousin.

Jordan: She's the one who created the secret Agrabah Club at school (along with Aziz).

La Foux Doux: He's younger than LeFou Deux and loves puppet shows.

Lagan (Electric Eel): He's the mean eel.

LeFou Deux: He has a crush on Claudine and is the isle's Santa Claus.

Li (number 85): His parents took creative liberty with his name without checking to see if that spelling already existed.

Li Lonnie: She does eventually get her show. Her successful ROAR career probably helped (: .

Li Shang Jr: His music is decent but few people take him seriously because of the whole 'Lil Shang' nickname thing.

Lil Yaz: He died of appendicitis after d1. He was morally grey/apathic and had eyes for Quinlynn Hearts.

Lina: Jasmine was her favorite babysitter and she in turn, ended up babysitting the younger of Jasmine's kids when she was in Agrabah.

Lucifer: Lucifer often escapes from the saloon and gets on everyone's nerves.

Lulu Brown: She's much younger than her brother, Jim/James Brown Jr. and is a very good at ballet.

Mad Maddy: She has quite the sweet tooth.

Madam Mim's granddaughters: No one is sure how many there are or how they came to be.

Tiger Peony: She's a hippie vegetarian who's really into Tourney but doesn't play.

Tipo: He learns to cook from Kronk and helps him out with Camp Chippamunka during the summer when he's older.

Tyrone (number 32): He's Tiana and Naveen's son. Lotte spoiled him, lol.

Uma: She gets her OWN sea phonies after d3 and she keeps her shark friends as well.

William (number 12): Wendy's oldest son and Jane Darling's younger brother.

Yi-Min: She's good at tourney as well as Swords and Shields.

Yupi: He is Kuzco's favorite 'nephew'.

Yzla: She's good at gymnastics.

Make Hobie go PINK! (Halloween Special)

Halloween has arrived and everyone in HQ had this fun idea to dress up or wear some sort accessory as an excuse to dress up. "Happy Halloween!" Peter 616 said out loud being dressed as cozy big black bear holding a big bowl of candy.

"Happy Halloween!" Mayday dressed up as Merida from Pixar's Brave having a bow and arrow strap on her back. Her long wavy red hair had been perfectly curled by her mom.

"Awe, so cute!" The Spider-women came by to take one piece of candy from the bowl as they made comments about the father and daughter Spider-heroes.

Spectacular Spider-man stood with one hand on his hip, "Ohh, I see now. I get it, from the movie! Took me awhile putting together the idea."

"Hah, I thought why not make it a twist? Instead of the mom being the bear, it's the dad?" Peter shrugs.

"Not cool as me!" Ben Riley came in dressed up as Batman, "I am the Dark Knight." Trying to put on a menacing voice.

"Easy soldier." Jess appeared with her son, who's dressed as Michael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Spider-woman dressed up as Tinker-bell.

"No, I am Batman!" Ben uses his deep voice getting way into character.

"And I'm Michelangelo!" Gerald stood in a mighty pose and uses his nunchucks to pull off his costume.

"Oh wow, you guys dress up so cool!" Gabriella appeared having to dress up as Mirabel from Encanto, she even wore fake green glasses. Her dad behind her wearing a large green cloak.

"Somebody is Bruno." Peter chuckles.

"Shhh, we don't talk about Bruno." Jess teased.

Ben sang, "No. No. No! We don't talk about Bruno!"

"We don't talk about Bruno!" Mayday, Gerald, and Gabriella sang out loud. Everyone in HQ knows the movies and sang out loud, "NO. NO. NO! We don't talk about Bruno!"

Miguel grunts having his green cloak on him, "Oh ha-ha, very funny! I only did it because Gabriella told me to be Bruno."

"Yeah. because papá is like Bruno; always in a dark room and hiding! And very sleepy lookin', too." Gabriella giggles as she twirls around to show off her pretty skirt.

"Awe, you guys are so cute!" Lupe appeared with her apprentices; Billie 1613 and Mariana 1022. Their masks were off being comfortable to show off their faces.

"Awwweee, such cuties!" The two girls behind Lupe awed.

Lupe looks at Miguel and grins widely, "Are you gonna tell me, my future, Mr. Canon?"

Lyla in her avatar pop out dressing as Peppa, "Hehehe, careful he'll go into hiding."

Miguel 928 gave a weak scowl before he saw Lupe's cat ears, "Aye, at least I dressed up."

"Nah, I'm not paying sixty dollars for a costume." Lupe laughs, then did a fake purr, "Meow. Do you like it, Miguelito?"

"Pfft, Tacky."

"Are you Catwoman, Lupe!" Gabriella asked looking at her ears.

"Maybe or a cat in general." The Spider-woman twisted her lips into a wide smile. "Its subjective."

"It's a poor excuse for a costume." Miguel mutters while he spend weeks making this Bruno costume and his daughter's costume.

"Oh Gabriella, your costume is so cute! So is May's!" Billie 1613 said happily with her hands clasp together, "I'm going to dress up as Ariel!"

"Your gonna be a princess, too!" Gabriella gasps with her eyes widen like they had sparkles in her eyes.

"Huh uh! I got this pretty blue dress for it." Billie giggles.

"I'm dressing up as Belle from Beauty and the Beast." Mariana smiles with joy.

"Oh, I wanna see it." Mayday stomp her foot on the ground, "I bet you'll look very pretty, Mariana!"

"Oh thank you, I will at the party." Mariana said happily, "Did you know Miguel 970, also said he's dressing up a character from Beauty and the Beast!"

"Oh wow, I guess the O'Haras have some weird power, because Gabriel told me, he's planning to dress up as Prince Eric." Billie said being naive.

Lupe crosses her arms then giggles, "Oh really, they both suddenly decided to be a character from a movie you two picked?"

"Yeah!" The girls were clueless.

"I can't wait to see them!" Gabriella happily bounce, "I love Belle and Ariel! They are my favorite princesses!"

Mayday said, "I wanna see the pretty blue dress." She took Billie 1613's hand trying to pull her, "Let's go see it!"

"Sorry, May. I have a lunch date with Gabriel- well, he calls it a date but I find it so silly since it's just us sitting together and talking about random stuff and eating good food." Billie 1613 explained.

Miguel 928 added, "That is a lunch date..."

"Oh no, a lunch date is when a couple go on dates and have lunch together, boss!"

"Yeah, papá. I had a lunch date with a boy from school!" Gabriella puff her chest out with confidence, "we share a juice box!"

"Oh how scandalous!" Mariana and Lupe fake gasps as Jess and Peter laughs at Miguel 928's reaction.

"Qué? Who was it?" Miguel 928 asked out loud, "Your too young para niños, Gabriella!"

"I'm not telling." Gabriella giggles with her little self hiding being Lupe's leg. "Right, Lupe. Us girls don't kiss and tell!"

"Right." Lupe saw the shock of a father figure as if his little girl no longer is staying a child.

"LUPE!"

"What? Me and Gabriella like to have evening tea time with Lyla."

"That's right." Lyla appeared in a Marilyn Monroe outfit on her avatar. "Sorry, Miguel. Gabriella made me pinky promise."

"What! Not fair, Lupe. You have to tell me."

"Nuh uh!"

Mariana said to Billie 1613, "Speaking of lunch dates. I think Miguel 970 is taking me to one, but hmm, he got all shy and grumpy about it."

"Oh no, has he been sleeping well." Billie said.

"I hope so!" The two Spider-woman talked having to ignore the two adults arguing- well, Miguel arguing.

Gabriella saw Petie and May together, "Oh wow, May is Barbie!"

The little three year old giggles with her pink Barbie roller blade outfit, "Daddy is Ken!" She hold her dad's hand.

Jess awed out loud, "Awe, how cute is little May. She's so Barbie."

"Just adorable." Peter 616 said as the adults went around to look at the little girl. May being a bashful went to hug her dad's leg.

Lupe hums, checking out Petie's tight roller blade Ken outfit, "You do realize Deadpool is gonna go crazy when he sees you and your fatty." She leans over to see Petie's butt then giggles.

"Oh god," Petie 2010 sighs, "But I wanted to match my baby. She looks so cute with this outfit."

"Oh wow, what a cute duo." They saw Miles 2020 with his triplets and Alpha dressed up as Pokemon characters. Miles wearing an Ash Ketchum outfit while his Alpha dressed up as Mega Charizard X and the triplets were dressed as up the three different types of Charizard. Mariana got her regular Charizard onesies, Aaron in a Chameleon costume, and Karl in a Mega Charizard Y onesies.

"ROAR!" Mariana 2020 pops out of her wagon stroller with her two brothers sat with her.

"Rawr!" The other two boy follow with their massive hoodie covering their faces as they try to look scary.

Jess laughs with amusement at the Omega being the only different one, "What happened, 2020? You the only one not a Pokemon."

"Wow, those outfits are so cool!" Gerald admires the triplets, especially Hobie's costumes, "You look so dope!"

"I'm always cool, lad." The Alpha ruffled the little boy's hair, "Say you got a swag fit, too."

"I wanna be Leonardo!" Aaron bounced from his spot, his upper body leaning over the edge of the stroller wagon.

Hobie 2020 chuckles, "For real, little one? You were begging to be a Pokemon." The triplets ignore him as they were busy talking to Gerald about his cool costume.

"First, I had this idea that maybe me and my mate can be trainers and our babies be starter Pokemon, but..." Miles 2020 only remembers the costume shop filled with his triplets fighting over Charmander and Charizard. Then, his mate was looking at the cool black and blue Mega Charizard being into the costume than being the trainer. "You know, you make do." Then his eyes saw the girls, "Awe, you two look so cute."

Mayday and Gabriella giggles being shy at their outfits. Miles 2020 saw Miguel 928 looking so serious in his Bruno costume that he burst out laughing, "Oh my gawd, no way. Are you seriously Bruno? Honestly, makes sense... he is a hermit."

The Omega quickly swirl around his boss to look at the outfit then saw his face, "Oh wow, even you did a good job with your makeup. Those dark circles look so real."

Lupe, Peter 616, Petie 2010 were snickering to themselves. "Like I could see the depression hitting, the exhaustion and five'o clock shadow-" Hobie 2020 stop his Omega from saying anything further while maintaining a serious expression, "Darling, he's not wearing anything." Then let out chuckle giving up his strength to hold it in.

Miguel 928 merely stare at them being unimpressed, Miles 2020 gasps, "Uh oh! I am so sorry, Miguel! You really gotta sleep."

"Yeah, take your naps!" Mariana 2020 shouted.

Mariana 1022 and Billie 1613 were looking at the triplets being so cute. They were like hatchlings from a Pokemon egg and all three are together in a nest. "Where's yo costume?" Karl asked in his choppy three old tone.

"Later, bebé. It's going to be a lot of work to put it on." Mariana 1022 cooed, as her hand gently rub Karl's round cheek.

"Best fren! Best fren, hey! Hey, best fren!" Mariana 2020 got all in Billie's face, "Where's yours?"

"Oh it's for the party. I need to do so much with my hair and makeup." She answered.

Mariana 2020 pouts with her hoodie covering her face, "Awe, I wanna see your outfit!."

"Don't worry. I promise I'll show it." Billie 1613 giggles.

"Mariana, no reason to pout, bebé." Her daddy said.

"But daddy! I see them with no costumes!" Mariana 2020 pouts with a huff.

"You want me to deal with her, luv?" Hobie 2020 asked.

"Please, bae." Miles 2020 said to his mate.

His husband picks up their daughter, "Relax, spitfire. We need to wait for the party."

"Awe!" His pup pouted.

"Oh wow, you guys went all out today!" They turn to find Pavtri dressed up as Prince Charming walking with Gwen and Hobie.

Gwen dressed up as the bride from Kill Bill had a fake sword and her yellow black jumpsuit with her hair a little teased and added a bit makeup to look like she was fighting.

Hobie wore horn headband that's nicely placed on his head, and had a fake thin devil tail. "Aye, cat woman." He grins at Lupe.

"See he gets it!" Lupe grins widely, "And you're a demon."

The punker grins widely with his arms crossed, "Always."

"Where's Miles? I thought he would be here." Gwen asked as Billie 1613 touches her fake sword.

Mariana 1022 carries Aaron, "Oh, I wonder what's his costume!"

"Probably something nerdy." Pavtri giggles.

"Oh, will he dress up as a cool anime character." Billie 1613 awe, "My brother use to dress up all the time for his anime club and it was so fun to watch him make the outfits."

"Oh that'll be fun. I wonder if he's dressing up a popular character like Howl from Howl's moving castle or Naruto." Mariana 1022 rub her chin.

"Or hopefully a Pokemon trainer!" Miles 2020 grins widely, "That way my idea will be complete."

Hobie 2020 holding his daughter, "Awe, can't handle a dragon?"

"Roar!" Their daughter roar at her daddy, "Fear me, daddy!"

"Yeah, so scary." Miles 2020 giggles at his pup, "Your just like your father." He winks at his husband, the Alpha let out a low rumble in the back of his throat with his scent seeping out of him.

"Huh oh, careful Millie. He might give you another set of triplets." Lupe chuckles.

"Hahaha, oh nonono. I'm good with these three." Miles 2020 laughs.

"Yeah, I want to be the only girl!" Mariana 2020 chimes out loud.

Gabriella said, "You don't want another sister! I always wanted another sibling."

Miguel let out a cough. "Really? Why? I like being on my own." Gerry said to Gabriella.

"I want a little brother or sister, too!" Mayday agrees with Gabriella.

"Look what you did, Lupe." Miguel said to the Spider-woman.

"What? You can give her a brother or sister, you're still... young?" She tilted her head to the side, "How old are you, again?"

Gwen said to Hobie, "What if Miles dress as an Angel? That'll be so cute."

Hobie turns into a slight baby pink, "My Sunflower as an Angel... yes, I would love to see that."

"Fingers crossed!" Pavtri said out loud.

The group were unaware of a familiar Spider-man running from up high coming down holding a three year old in his arms. "Who dat?" Petie squint his eyes up. Then everyone turns there head at the colorful Spider-man as the closer he got down dressed as Spider-Punk 138b.

He stood as soon he began talking, everyone knew it was Miles. "I'm Hobie Brown, when I’m not playing shows, antagonizing fascists, staging unpermitted political action slash performing art pieces." He did a pose while held a handcrafted thrifted electric guitar similar to Hobie's, "OR, having a laugh at the pub with the mandem. I'm not a role model, I was briefly a runway model. I hate the AM, I hate the PM, I hate labels!" He remove his Spider-Punk mask to show off his own wicks made from a synthetic wig with visible colorful lines and yarn to give that voluminous look. His face painted more Punk aesthetic with black lipstick, and wearing fake piercings similar to his boyfriend.

"Oh my gawd, that's such a cool Hobie costume!" Pavtri and Billie 1613 gasps with their eyes gleaming at Miles' costume. He got every part of the outfit to the tee.

Gwen said, "Wow, no wonder you were asking me about battle jackets."

"Whoa, is your guitar really!" Mayday went up with the other children to check out the outfit. Her hand touched the guitar.

"Yup!" Miles plays a weak string.

Mariana 1022 giggles, "Sweet, I like the hair. maybe you should do wicks more often."

"Oh yeah!" Miles grins widely, as he posed.

Petie said, "The suit and looks is spot on!"

"Yeah, no kidding. I thought it was another variant." Peter added.

"I really like the patch work on those jeans." Jess eyes on Miles' black jeans, she could tell he put a lot a thought on the design.

"He looks like other da-da!" Mariana 2020 said out loud to his daddy, "Right, daddy."

Miles 2020 giggles, "Yes, he does!"

Miles grins widely, "You know, I thought I try something new." His doe eyes glances at Hobie.

Everyone else saw Hobie 138b turning vivid bright pink. Hobie 2020 chuckles, "Tongue twisted, eh?" He patted his variant's back, "Heh, I would be too if my Sunflower dressed up as me." He looks back at his mate with a puppy pout.

Miles 2020 giggles, "Oh really? Maybe next year."

"I wanna dress up as da-da, daddy." Karl climbs on his daddy, being carried.

"I will keep that in mind, mi vida." Miles 2020 kisses his son on the cheek.

Hobie finally got up to look at his Sunflower, "You look Ace, luv. You got every detailed!" He saw the battle vest, "Oi, are you sure you didn't take my clothes."

"No, bae. I made everything. See!" Miles shows the brand of the battle vest, "It's a different brand."

"So, that means I should be you then... hmm perhaps I can steal me a Spider-man cost-" Then a three year old Spider-man pops up from Miles back, "No! It's me!" Billie's voice spoke from the tiny Spider-man.

"Hahaha, sorry, bae. Billie is me for Halloween." He had a baby strap underneath his battle jacket, he got Billie off his back.

The little girl dressed up in Miles' black and red suit wearing her mask and web shooter, "Hi, I'm Miles Morales! I am Spider-man and-and I'ma do my own thing!" She proudly puff her chest out, then shoot a dart from her web shooter at Hobie. "Hehe!"

"Awe, she looks so cute, Miles!" Jess quickly went over to look at Billy, "She's so adorable as a tiny Spider-man? Spider-woman?"

"I'm Miles!" Billie 1610 said out loud.

Hobie chuckles, "Heh, not follow gender norms. I like it."

"Ohhh how cute! Look at her tiny web-shooter!" Pavtri gawks.

Billie 1613 and Mariana 1022 cooed at Billie, "Awe, Billie. Your so cute as Miles."

"Hehehe! I'ma do my own thing." She saids trying to be her big brother. She didn't want to remove her mask.

Miles mimic Hobie's voice, "Sunflower, you're doing a fantastic job!" Gwen and Pavtri giggles at the perfect cockney accent.

"Huh uh!" Billie nodded.

Hobie picks up his Miles, "Hobie!" Miles being bashful.

"You're too precious to me, luv." He happily kisses Miles' cheek.

"No, Hobie! My big brother!" Billie huffs out loud.

"Well, now I know the party is going to quite ecstatic." Miguel said to the adults.

Peter laughs, "Yeah, especially when you got those two together."

"HOBIE!" Miles saw how the punker runs around having the children chasing them.

"No fair, Hobie! I wanna touch Miles' guitar!" Gabriella said out loud.

"I wanna hold Billie!" Mayday said out loud.

Gerry preach, "I wanna play with Miles."

Hobie merely plays around while carrying his lover and Billie. "Whoa-whoa!" Billie getting dizzy. "I wanna do my own THING!"

"Me too! Me too!" Mariana 2020 shouted out loud.

"Sorry, lads. I'm not sharing him." Hobie chuckles at the children.

what is your opinion on King Beast/Adam

Well, that's complicated.

He's a plot device who made stupid decisions that had to exist in order for the story to occur in any way. Unfortunately he's also meant to be the future version of the Prince from Beauty and the Beast which is one of my favorite movies and I've grown attached to him... ninety-percent out of spite.

He could be so much better if they'd ever actually meant to do anything with him as a character instead of slapping the name Beast on him when he neither looks nor acts anything like the Beast/Prince from the 1991 film.

(Also, why is he still named Beast. Give the man a name already!)

(Also also, I don't count the remake bc that came after Descendants.)

Did he make stupid decisions? Duh. Unfortunately someone had to have made those decisions for the story to happen, and I guess he was just the unlucky prince to get character-assassinated for the role.

But he's not a villain. Not only is he simply not competent enough to be a villain but I mean *gestures to Audrey's arc in D3* clearly the writers had no problem making whoever they needed to be a villain actually be a villain (and vice versa, making Hades semi-heroic for some nonsense) even when it makes no sense for their character. If Beast was meant to be a villain, then he would have been one. Frankly would have been an interesting twist on his character...

Isle of the Lost (the first book) actually had a... fairly interesting take on the character. Strong and loud, with an imposing but not necessarily frightening presence, not willfully unkind (perhaps a bit short-sighted but of course, that's why he has Belle,) and expressing complete pride in his son. That I could accept as a continuation of the Prince's character from the 1991 movie. Barely a speck of that characterization transferred into the movie (no hate to the actor bc I genuinely do think Dan Payne did his best) and then by D2 there was no personality. By then he was just a prop to be approving of Mal.

Luckily at least one defining trait of him did survive the characterization butcher: his love for Belle. Even when Adam and Belle aren't center-screen they're always with each other, holding onto each other, interacting, or just being close to each other. One look from Belle is what gets Beast to agree with Ben's proclamation (from refusing it to even giving a smile of approval). Dare I say it, Descendants Beast and Belle have more chemistry as minor characters in three DCOMs than they have in the 2017 remake.

Anyways. When it comes to trying to explain his canon bad decisions I adopt the headcanon that at some point he was cursed to go back to his old cruel ways, and somehow no one knows this. (Or maybe Belle does and that's why she's always with him.)

So. Like I said. Complicated.

Speculation: Why many people find Ben Florian unlikeable

Okay so just for the record, this is essentially an analysis post on the Disney series - Descendants. Specifically on the character of Ben Florian, but more so about the reception of his character and why I think people have responded to him the way they have. Gonna be fairly longish so yeah. Anyways, hope you enjoy! :)

Introduction

Pretty much ever since I first saw Descendants, I have been a huge fan of Ben. (Which is no secret if you've read my blog ;)). I think Mitchell Hope did a fantastic job with the character, and his performance really drove it home.

So it's always been quite... Confusing to me that so many people don't like his character. Tumblr isn't too anti Ben, but on YouTube videos and on TikTok, a lot of analysis around him is typically quite negative. The charms of the character that I see and that really make the series for me, really don't work on everyone. And that's something I've found very hard to understand.

But as of a conversation I have had with @hannahhook7744.. I had an epiphany. As to why this character just seems to be a breeze of annoyance to many. And I think the answer lies in tropes and expectations.

First let's talk a bit about another character, a fan favourite - Audrey Rose.

What role does the character of Audrey Rose play in feelings of spite toward Ben?

I think most dislike for Ben stems from the story of his ex girlfriend -Audrey. We get shown it to some extent in the first movie, but it's much more explicit in the third.

In Descendants 1, Ben and Audrey were together. And while under the influence of a love spell cast on him by protagonist Mal Bertha, he performs a love song to Mal in front of the entire school. Naturally humiliating Audrey and breaking her heart.

After the performance, Mal and Ben start dating each other, much to Audrey's understandable anger.

The movie ends with Ben and Mal happy together and everyone is delighted about it yada yada. And then we get an entire sequel where Audrey does not make a appearance.

It's then in Descendants 3 that she makes a comeback. We see that she and Ben have been friends since childhood, and that she's still hung up on him.

Then, again publicly, Ben proposes to Mal. Mal happily agrees and everyone is delighted, except of course, Audrey. She is further heartbroken by this.

The devastation Audrey feels from losing Ben to a girl who literally enchanted him, causes her to have a emotionally moving breakdown in her bedroom, singing "Queen of Mean", a song about heartbreak from rejection.... At least that's what it's about at first.

It then turns into a song of vengeance. Audrey swears revenge on Mal and Ben for the ordeal she has been put through. She takes Malificient's sceptre from the Auradon Museum, and it changes her look, style of talking etc etc. She's a new person. A person hellbent on getting even with the two people who are (intentionally or not) responsible for her heartbreak.

And that's where we enter - the tropes.

The Tropes

The kind of character arc Audrey has had is pretty common. A girl gets her heart broken by a guy. Maybe he cheats on her. Maybe he breaks up with her in a unfair manner (like in this case). And the girl decides to get even with the guy and the "other girl" who has taken her place in his life.

Except... Here's the thing.

Most of the time in this story archetype, the guy really is a heartbreaking douchey thob.

I mean think of any time you've seen this storyline other than Descendants. When is the guy who has dismissed the girl ever really portrayed in a decent light?

In this specific situation, it's not that simple. Yes, Ben did break up with Audrey by publicly humiliating her. And yes, that's extremely brutal. But he didn't choose to. He was acting under a mind controlling love spell.

But nonetheless, this is probably the only instance where the guy breaking the girl's heart like that genuinely was not his fault. It's pretty odd to get a situation where the guy cheating on the girl really didn't willingly do anything wrong. But nonetheless that's what this is.

Ultimately 9 times out of 10, the role Ben plays in this archetype storyline really is of the bad guy. And so it is very compelling to see this the same way. To overlook how at least as far as the break up incident itself, Ben was not at fault, and just see him as the jerk who hurt Audrey.

Audrey's story is also relatable to real life stories too

Another thing which sadly does not go in Ben's favour either, is that this kind of story isn't just found in fiction. Art reflects life, and what Audrey is unfortunate to experience, for the most part, is all too real.

Many people are unfortunate to get hurt by their partners in real life through things like cheating, or just something involving a "other girl/woman". And the pain from this.... Is not forgettable.

And so I think a revenge fantasy of hurting the unfaithful person and their new consort is very common.

Add onto that that lines Audrey speaks in D3 are written to be relatable and impactful. ("There's nothing to lose when you're lonely and friendless, I won't let another person take advantage of me, the anger burns my skin third degree, now my blood's boiling hotter than a fiery sea etc)

I think with that, it's all too easy for victims of these sort of situations to project their own case onto Audrey's. To see Ben the same way they see the guy who hurt them. And in some cases, to see Mal as how they see their homewrecker, and perhaps want to see her get hurt by Audrey too.

And in real life, there is no love spell that makes people cheat against their will, like there was for Ben. People in reality who do the thing that Ben did really are responsible for their hurtful actions.

So ultimately, the sorts of real life people Ben is being associated to by viewers, aren't particularly decent.

Also, the revelation that Ben and Audrey are childhood friends just exaggerates all these feelings. The people who have been hurt by partners who actually had significant meaning to them are the ones who will naturally relate to Audrey most. And again, project their own experiences onto this girl and the people in her life.

The mistake Ben DID make; wrong but taken out of proportion

Ultimately, while what Spell!Ben did is the sort of thing that gets done all the time irl, it is also pretty evident that as I keep saying; he wasn't in control of himself when he did it. So for many people, even the ones who can relate to Audrey, that fact will be acknowledged.

But the truth is, there is a mistake Ben made. After the love spell was lifted, Ben never went to see Audrey to comfort her after what happened. No doubt that inaction would have fuelled the already existing heartbreak. I mean if Ben had had a word with her, maybe he could have given her closure and made her feel better. But he didn't.

There is no justification for this. Ben was in the wrong for this failure.

But it should also be considered that Ben isn't a 40 year old man who has just left his wife of 10 years. He is a teenager. He is still developing in terms of maturity.

Communication, especially about difficult topics, isn't something teenagers are the best at. I mean if Ben were to approach Audrey, we can tell that it would have clearly been very understandably awkward for him (again, not an excuse, but a point to consider). I mean, if you had just done something so awful to your childhood friend/ex girlfriend, regardless of whether or not it was your fault, approaching someone who you'd expect is probably very angry about it is quite unnerving.

But none of these factors would be considered by a lot of audience members, and for understandable reason:

Because of the tropes, expectations and their personal experiences, they are pre set to see Ben in a negative light. So the thing he WAS wrong for, they understandably will find it harder to empathize with and see from his perspective.

Kind of an popular opinion but Ben should never be king in the first place. I doubt he had proper education while training to become king and there’s no way that the animated Belle and Beast would do this to their son.

I really don’t see the use of Lonnie in D2(this is coming from a Lonnie stan). The whole roar plot is just there to boost Lonnie. You could take her out of D2 and the movie remains the same.

Ben isn't a bad king, the problem is he's a child. Though it says something that he's already a better king than his dad and he's only sixteen years old. I'm sure Ben has been getting lessons about how to become a king his whole life but sixteen? Let the kid finish high school at least. Idk what his parents were thinking, they're insane. There's just too much pressure on Ben, he shouldn't have the whole world on his shoulders. But compared to the isle kids I guess he's still got it pretty darn good. #beast is the real villain

As for Lonnie, I guess she was a bit unnecessary. Though I think her story was heavily intertwined with Jay's story and development. The VK's are changing Auradon and making an impact with their stories. Jay is helping Lonnie with breaking gender barriers and sexism in Auradon prep. At the beginning he was agreeing with Chad and falling into Auradon ways to fit in, but he went back to the isle and realized that he wasn't going to change and he was going to stand for what he believes in and help Lonnie. That's pretty important in my mind, so it kinda makes Lonnie an important character

Descendants and Marauders

My sister just forced me to see all three descendants movies, which got me thinking about the marauders and gang, and who would be their disney parents. So here are my head canons:

(In descendants, all the villains have been banished to an Isle, the Isle of the lost, where all the villains and Villain Kids (VKs) now live. The good people live in Auradon, where Belle and the Beast have been voted king and queen over everyone. Their son, Ben, shall shortly take over as king, and as his first proclamation, four children of the Isle gets a chance to live in Auradon, away from their parents)

James - he would be the equivalent of Ben, meaning he would be the prince, later king, of Auradon. But instead of having Belle and the Beast as parents (and them being king and queen), it is Snow White and her prince that are the Queen and King of Auradon and James’ parents. James is the reason that the VKs (only two in the first round) are coming to Auradon, and he feels like they should all get second chances, as they are not their parents

Remus - son of Belle and the Beast. He has inherited some of his fathers characteristics, and therefore sometimes turns into a beast. Remus has a hard time dealing with this (as his father never becomes a beast anymore, and kind of resents Remus for the memories he brings up when he turns). Remus feels like he too should be banished to the Isle with the Villains.

Sirius - Child of Maleficent. Part of the first round of children leaving the Isle, leaves Regulus behind. Sirius becomes friends with James quickly, and James promises that Sirius will never have to go back to his parents. Falls in love with the mysterious boy Remus, and perhaps they can learn something from each other about good and evil.

Peter - Fairy godmother’s son. Old friend with James, but feels left out when James creates new friends with the VKs. They are evil after all, and he is good. Should you really trust the kids of Villains? But he too, comes around, perhaps after he himself becomes a bit of a villain and realising that second chances are for everyone.

Lily - Child of Anna and Kristoff. Dates James briefly, before they both realise they are no good match. Looks up to her aunt, Elsa, a lot as a strong independent role model. After James, she has no wish to fall in love (but then she meets Mary...)

Marlene - Mulan’s daughter. She, James and Peter are childhood friends, and they got to know Lily and Remus in school. Is hesitant to the V.K. at first, just as Peter, but soon becomes good friends with both Sirius and Mary.

Mary - Queen of Hearts’ daughter and childhood friends with Sirius. People think they are dating. Joins him in being the first two VKs to leave the Isle. Just as Sirius she quickly befriends James and Lily, who are very kind, while it takes a while to befriend Marlene, but once they do, nothing can separate the new friends. She and Lily are friends to lovers.

Regulus - Is also the child of Maleficent. When Sirius leaves, Regulus feels left behind with their abusive parents. He gets the chance in the second round of VKs leaving the Isle, and while Sirius went to Auradon with the mindset of finding a better future, Regulus wants to destroy and take over Auradon, both because it is the land that took Sirius from him, and because it would make his mother proud. Arriving in Auradon, he is not the little scared boy Sirius remembers leaving behind. Regulus meets James, who he hates, because he is the one that took Sirius from him. He enchants James to fall in love with him, to be able to use James to destroy Auradon and everything Sirius loves, and make his mother proud. However, instead Regulus falls in love with James, and the enchantment on James quickly stops working (without Regulus knowing), but James then falls in love for real instead (think Ben and Mal).

Dorcas - Hades daughter. Enemies to lovers with Marlene, who while she now accepts Sirius and Mary, does not trust this new round of VKs. Dorcas, as one of Regulus’ best friends (but you would never hear him say it or accept it), also hates Auradon and everything it stands for, however, she leaves that mindset behind quicker than Regulus.

Evan - child of Hans (from frozen). Grew up expected to be the perfect prince like his father, being able to take over the kingdom of Auradon one day. However, together with Regulus, Dorcas and Barty, he likes to wreak havoc on the isle, which his father does not agree with, as Hans feels like they are not real villains but rather princes (while Hans definitely is and behaves like a villain)

Barty - child of captain Hook. Together with Evan and Dorcas, part of Regulus’ new friends after Sirius left. They all join Regulus in the second round of VKs coming to Auradon. He and Evan become a couple during their time in Auradon (I would headcanon the Isle as more homophobic, but in perfect Auradon, you can date whoever. Takes a while for both to get rid of the internalized homophobia and get their shit together)

Pandora - child of Aurora, but is homeschooled by Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. Becomes Regulus’ first friend in Auradon (and Dorcas, Evan and Barty’s) and the first of the ‘good’ that they all trust.

Of course, everyone gets their happily ever after <3

"You're dating the son of our swore enemies? Dating the son of the man who put us on this hellhole in the first place?!" Haded shouted as he all but knocked things off his table as Y/N watched him have a tantrum as he rolled his eyes.

"Quit acting so dramatically, dad."

Haded turned to him. "Me? Me dramatic? I used to be a God, Y/N. I could send people to Tartarus with a snap of my fingers." He snapped his fingers for emphasis. "And now here I am, powerless, scraping for food, and finding out my son landed the new king of Auradon. You sure know how to pick em."

"Is this your weird godly way of saying congratulations or is this a 'I forbid you from ever seeing him again speech?'"

"The latter."

"Well, it's a good thing I don't give a fuck what you think. For all my life you have never been there. Now, you want to be the concerned parent? Listen, Ben is not his father; he's a good person."

"Oh, you are a simple-minded fool. Once you get past his cotton candy eyes and rainbow smile, you'll eventually see that the son of Belle and Beast could never be in love with the son of Hades and Chernabog. In the end he'll let you down. Eventually, he will hate you."

Y/N's eyes flashed red and his hair burned high with blue flames. "No, you're wrong!"

POYW Rewrite V2 - Harry Hook x reader - P1

Music plays as the camera pans on a purple book with a bright red apple pictured on the cover, swirling gold vines and a gold capital D are placed on and around the apple.

The book opens to reveal a tablet, and a purple painted finger swipes up on the tablet to ‘flip the page’-revealing the title of the ‘book’; Descendants.

‘once upon a time-long long ago~’

Naaaah well get to that in a moment, right now! We have some backstory to get into! Meet (y/n)! 16 years old, a Disney fan since she was a baby(sleeping beauty was the shit when she was old enough to remember movies), and now-a huge descendants fan. It’s July 31st, 2017, it’s been 10 days since Descendants 2 had released-and now (y/n) is hunkering down on her couch to watch the first movie again, and then watch D2 again-just for funsies~.

Harry Hook had quickly and easily stolen her heart as soon as he appeared on screen, and she couldn’t wait to start up D2 again. But as the opening credits began to play on her screen-it started to…glitch out, Mal’s voice overpowered by a ‘new’ one, deeper, male-and Scottish.

Before (y/n) could react to it properly-her TV turned to blinding white, the light overwhelming her eyes and living room; something grabbing at her body and tugging her into the screen, the teen was just barely able to grab her phone and bag before she was dragged in screaming to the Descendants world.

What adventures await her there? Only time will tell, for now~ let’s get back to those opening credits-shall we?

Mal; “once upon a time, long long ago-well, more like twenty-” Mal gets shoved over, a crashing noise indicating she hit something hard as someone scrambles to sit on the chair Mal was sitting on, a soft snicker coming from the intruder. Mal; ”Harry?! I was in the middle-“

Harry Hook; “oh shut it pixie-it’s my turn ta narrate! Now go be a bitch somewhere else-anyways~!” Mal storms off in a huff-most likely to complain about Harry to Evie or anyone that would listen. “Twenty years ago, king beasty and his Belle married front’ of all six-thousand of their mates-that’s a big cake hells bells. Anyway! Beasty united all tha’ kingdoms and declared hi’mself king of tha’ united states of boreadon~

He rounded up all tha’ villains, sidekicks, petty thieves, drug dealers, anyone he could think of that was even slightly bad-and booted em’ off ta’ the isle of the lost; with a magic barrier ta’ keep ‘em there.

This is where I live. No magic, no WIFI, no fresh food, and no.way.out….or so we thought~ hol’ up hol’ up, yer about ta’ see me pretty face~ but first-this happened, and ain’t she pretty~ no not belle-the one sitting in the chair behind prince beasty.

Prince Ben stares out to the isle of the lost from his room at Beast castle, so much to do in so little time, and his coronation was in just a month-hardly any time to do all he wanted before he was crowned king. Ben let out a small sigh, catching the eye of his newest and now closest friend, who sat on a comfy chair behind him-doodling away as Ben’s tailor got to work fitting his coronation suit.

“Are you sure this’ll work (y/n)?” Ben asked the girl, who nodded absentmindedly, getting the last details of a certain pirate down before closing her book, and sitting up to give Ben her proper attention. “I’m sure of it, it’s your first royal proclamation, it’s Auradon law for it to pass with no barriers, be it from your parents or the council-we’ve been over this beasty boy, just stand your ground and those kids will be here sooner than you can say codfish.”

Ben let out a small mutter of ‘codfish’ with a teasing smile, laughing as (y/n) took a balled-up sheet of paper and chucked it at him, grinning as it bounced off his head and hit the tailor on the shoulder. He just shook his head at the two teens, standing up to bow as King Beast/Adam and Belle walked into the room-both looking ever so proud of their son.

“How is it you’re going to be crowned king next month!” King Adam exclaimed, looking almost star-struck as Belle, who was walking by her husband's side with her hand tucked into his arm. “You’re just a baby!” Adam insisted, chuckling as Belle stepped away and grabbed some of Ben’s discarded clothes, tossing the shorts in Ben’s hamper and folding the tourney jersey. “He’s turning sixteen dear!” Belle reminded, rolling her eyes fondly as Adam went on.

“That’s far too young to be crowned king!” (y/n) looked up from her sketchpad, looking as if she wanted to say something but shook her head, going back to her doodles. “I didn’t make a good decision till I was at least-forty-two.” Belle looked a bit offended at Adam’s words, narrowing her eyes up at him as Ben smiled in amusement-knowing his mom had a few choice words about his father’s choice of words.

“uh, You decided to marry me, at twenty-eight.” Belle reminded, shaking her head as she made eye contact with Ben as Adam sent a teasing grin down to his wife of 20 years. “it was either you or a teapot.” Belle just glared at him, two seconds away from smacking his shoulder. “kidding.” Adam looked back at Ben with wide eyes and Ben just laughed-knowing his mom still had his dad wrapped around her finger, even after all these years.

Ben glanced back at (y/n), who gave Ben an encouraging smile and he took a deep breath, stepping towards his parents-“mom, dad?” his tailor stopped him, making Ben step back and face his parents on the pedestal. “I’ve chosen my first official proclamation.”

Adam and Belle looked very interested, Adam nodding for Ben to go on. “I’ve decided that the children of the isle of the lost, be given a chance-to live here in Auradon.” Belle’s jaw dropped along with Ben’s shirt-and Adam’s jaw clicked. (y/n) sat up slightly, while she knew Adam wouldn’t hurt Ben, he still had some anger issues and would not let anything happen to her friend who had so graciously let her into his life two months ago.

Ben kept rolling forward, now that he finally got those words out-he wouldn’t stop until he had his first set of VK’s in Auradon. “every time I look out to the island, I feel like they’ve been abandoned.” (y/n) snorted slightly from her spot, thinking that was the understatement of the year. Ben just glanced back at her, making her go silent, knowing it was not the time for jokes.

“The children of our sworn enemies, living among us?” Adam asked, almost like he was trying to convince his son that his proclamation was a stupid idea-a dangerous one. But Ben stood strong, he would not let those kids be punished any longer, not for their parent's crimes. “we start with a few at first, the ones that need our help the most.”

Belle nodded, truly listening to Ben’s idea-he caught that nod and pushed forward-knowing he had his mom’s support-and (y/n)’s. he just needed his dad's. “I’ve already chosen them, I have Auradon guardians signed up to claim them in case anything happens and I’ve already spoken to FG about them being enrolled at Auradon prep.” Adam nodded, it seemed his son already had everything planned out.

“You’ve done all that eh?” Adam muttered, looking down at his son. “And why should we give these-villain kids-a chance?” Belle took Adam ‘s arm, turning him towards her. “I gave you a second chance” Belle reminded Adam that he, was once seen as a villain, a monster-only to be redeemed by the woman before him. she turned to Ben when Adam calmed down. “Who are their parents, and how many?”

“Six,” Ben answered immediately, wringing his hands together slightly. “Two girls and four boys. Cruella De’vil, Jafar, Evil Queen, Captain Hook-“ Ben paused, knowing the last two villains were two his dad would not react well too-especially the latter. “-and Maleficent and Gaston.” Ben rushed out, taking a step back as Adam stepped forward-his voice rising and scaring the tailor who quickly bowed out.

(y/n) planted her feet on the floor.

“Maleficent?! Gaston!? They are the worst villains known to us!” Ben held his hands up, trying to get his father to calm down “Dad-just hear me out here-“ Ben pleaded, closing his eyes for a moment as Adam lifted his hand to point at the isle through the window. “I won't hear of it! They are guilty of unspeakable crimes-Gaston tried to murder me and take your mother! You really want to invite his-spawn-to our kingdom?!”

“They have done nothing wrong!” Ben insisted, finding his voice and overpowering his fathers “They have done nothing to us to condemn them to the isle! Gaston yes-he deserves to be there-but his kids? The other kids? They’ve done nothing wrong! Nothing except being born to those who have wronged us-they’re innocent in the eyes of the law and to me.” Ben straightened out, lifting his chin as he stared his father down. “This is my proclamation dad. And as future king, it is my duty to do what I think is right for my people-that includes the people of the isle. And it’s right to give those kids a chance.”

Adam and Ben held each other's stares for a moment, then Adam stepped away-nodding. “I suppose the children are innocent,” he admitted-he simply didn’t want to admit he had condemned children to a life of imprisonment-but his son would right his wrongs even if Adam never did. Adam turned and walked away, straightening his suit as Belle took Ben’s collar and fixed it-giving him a proud grin. “well done.” She whispered, turning to her husband and leading him out of the room “shall we?”

Ben let out the biggest sigh of relief as he stumbled back, holding his chest as (y/n) clapped from her chair, setting her sketchbook aside as she joined Ben at the window; clapping her hand on his shoulder. “Well done beasty boy, well done. You sure we can't get one more kid? From Yensid’s notes-Hook, Gaston, and Ursula’s kids are all quite close-It’d be a shame to pull them apart?” (y/n) asked, not wanting to separate the three pirates, but Ben shook his head sadly. “you heard the council, even numbers, No more-no less. besides-I only got six guardians to sign up, one for each kid.” (y/n) let out a raspberry, crossing her ankles as Ben gazed out towards the isle, playing with his class ring as he remembered the purple haired girl with emerald green eyes from his dreams.

“Well, what are we waitin’ for?” (y/n) asked, pushing Ben towards his closet. “get changed! We gotta get those letters to the isle!” Ben grinned with a nod, taking his fitting jacket off and tossing the stack of letters to (y/n), who slipped out of his room to wait for him to get changed.

It was time to invite the villain kids to Auradon.

Two days later: the isle of the lost-the wharf. A rough punk-like dubstep beat echoes as the camera flies through the isle of the lost-through the wharf marketplace place-through tattered sails and broken lamps-to find Ursula’s chip shop.

It zooms in to show a petite black girl with long teal and aqua braids, a nasty grin on her lips as she tosses a tray onto the table-which was the wrong order for the customer she delivered it to-as they complained, the girl ignored them, instead throwing the tray up in their face and pointing at the sign that said ‘you take it how we make it’ with a rough cackle.

Uma; They say I’m trouble-they say I’m bad-they say I’m evil~ and that makes me glad!”

Uma, the daughter of Ursula, grabs an empty tray and throws it into the kitchen, disrupting the work and making a crashing noise as Uma laughs and throws her apron away-leaving the chip shop after retrieving her sword. Her mother yelled after her-a set of tentacles snapping after Uma-curling away as Uma disappeared down the wharf.

Gil; A dirty no good-down the bone.

Gil, the son of Gaston, leaped between building gaps, a small group of teens chasing after him-yelling for him to give back their loot. Gil just grinned, making sure his bag of new loot was secure before disappearing behind the wharf fence-leaving the group behind-who had thought Gil was helping them steal from the market place.

Gil; Your worst nightmare-can’t take me home!”

Harry Hook, son of Captain Hook, strut through the wharf marketplace-pirates and others alike backing away in fear of the young pirate-fear for the glint in his eye and the sharpness in his grin. He snatched jewelry and whatever he could see as he walked through-a giggle escaping him as he pocketed several rings.

Harry; So I’ve got some mischief~ in me blood-can ya blame me? I never got no love~”

Harry blew a kiss to a younger girl with dark red hair-who giggled and hid her flushing face behind her bangs. It was no secret that many girls, and boys-of the isle had a crush on Harry-but he had yet to find a spark with anyone-other than with his friend Uma-who he would defy the gods for. Harry laughed to himself, dipping beneath a rail and grinning as he saw Uma; greeting her with his hook as they always did.

Gonzo-a member of the wharf rats-Harry’s crew of misfits-bolted through the wharf-a bedazzled jacked in hand as Bonnie-another crew member-laughed as she ran behind him, holding several handfuls of good loot.

Gonzo; They say im callous.” Bonnie; a lowlife hood~ I feel so useless”

Bonnie stole a half-eaten week stale donut from a younger pirate as she bolted by them, cackling as she and Gonzo disappeared into the wharf, meeting up with Gil, Uma, and Harry as they ran about causing chaos.

Gonzo/Bonnie; Misunderstood!”

Uma and Harry grinned at each other as they walked on the highest set of the wharf, laughing as they watched their wharf rats cause chaos and steal all they wanted.

Uma/Harry; Mirror mirror, on the wall-who’s the baddest-of them all? Welcome to my wicked world-wicked world!

The pirates burst into a pillow factory and ripped it apart, feathers, fluff, and fur flying everywhere as the pirates cackled and jumped about-enraging the workers as they had fun. They made all the noise they could as they ran out of the factory-Harry scraping his hook along the metal pipes as they ran.

Pirates; I’m rotten to the core, Rotten to the core-I’m rotten to the core! Who could ask for more-I’m nothing like the kid next-like the kid next door! I’m rotten to the core-rotten to the-I’m rotten to the core!

The camera pans away from the laughing pirates, focusing on Harry and Gil before zooming towards the main isle market-revealing a girl with shoulder-length purple hair and a snarky grin-holding a spray paint can. The daughter of Maleficent.

Mal; Call me a schemer-call me a freak-how can you say that?! Im just-unique!”

Mal spray painted a large purple M on a shower sheet-pushing it aside and giving a falsely sweet grin to a passing isle inhabitant who ran away in fear. Mal laughed, spotting her ‘friend’ Evie and running over to meet her-who was pushing through the clothing section of the marketplace-pocketing things she liked.

Jay; What, me a traitor? Ain’t got your back? Are we not friends?! What's up with that!?”

Jay, son of Jafar, dropped into the marketplace from the panels above, hanging from the support beams as he flipped over to the floor and landed in front of two people enjoying some tea. He took the bronze teapot and politely poured them their tea, they smiled and thanked him-yelping as he leaped over the table with the pot and ran off, cackling as he did.

Evie; So I’m a misfit~ so I’m a flirt~ I broke your heart? I made you hurt?

Evie, daughter of the evil queen, strut through the fabric of the clothing section of the marketplace-Mal close behind as Evie grinned and stole a scarf from one of the shoppers, winking as he stared after her-in awe of the young princess as she disappeared within the fabrics, Mal laughing as she followed the blue-haired princess away from the market.

Carlos; The past is past~ forgive forget! The truth is, you ain’t seen nothing yet!”

Carlos, son of Cruella De’vil, casually strolled on top of the tables on the outskirts of the marketplace, knocking over baskets of apples and other goods as shop keeps and customers alike yelled at him to get down. He just laughed, knocking over another basket of apples and dropping a smaller basket on a woman's head-tossing some hay at her as he hitched a ride on a cart.

Mal and Evie smiled down at Carlos and Jay as the boys caused some havoc in the market's bakery, laughing as Jay knocked over a near-empty bucket of flour and Carlos began to pull at a crane-like mechanic-Jay leaping on for the ride and laughing as Carlos pulled him along.

The vks flooded the streets and wharf, bouncing and weaving between pirates and villagers-laughing as they disrupted the peace. The pirates danced with their swords as Mal and her gang banged their heads and stomped their feet.

VK’s ; I’m rotten to the core-core, Rotten to the core-I’m rotten to the core-core, Who could ask for more? I’m nothing like the kid next-like the kid next door! I’m rotten to the-I’m rotten to the-I’m rotten to the core~”

Harry fixed his hat as he and the wharf rats showed off their stolen loot, Harry eyeing the cracked ruby necklace he had snatched from the market-it looked expensive and still in good condition, he could resell it for a high price-or get that Tremaine brat to repurpose it for him-maybe make himself a new ring.

Harry’s grin widened as he noticed a passing kid with a candy apple-he snatched it up and pushed the kid away as they cried, holding up the apple in victory as his crew laughed with him. Uma rolled her eyes, mostly out of fondness as she took a seat on a nearby barrel, playing with her teal and red beaded bracelet as Harry tried to eat his new prize. But isle candy apples were more like actual rocks instead of candy. “a candy apple, stolen from a kid, truly you are the embodiment of evil Harry.” Uma teased, grinning sharply as he pointed his hook at her, a glint in her eye that always made her giddy.

“Ah~ Uma~ ye know this is only tha’ beginning of me evil plans, first-a candy apple-then!” Gil interrupted Harry, a habit Gil had that he had never been able to kick-he interrupted a lot of people actually, and got in himself in trouble quite a bit for saying before thinking. “the candy store?” Gil asked, looking giddy at the thought of stealing from a whole candy store.

Harry just stared at Gil blankly as the crew snickered softly, Uma rolling her eyes again. “I was goin’ ta say the world, Gil.” Harry said, his shoulders slumping in disappointment in Gil’s lack of want for world domination-he’d rather eat all the eggs in the world than take it over.

As Harry talked to his friends, the crew all froze and stared down the wharf-two men walking towards them. Harry noticed his crew’s frozen expressions and went to ask them what the fuck they were doing-when he realized why they froze. Harry swallowed, dropping his shoulders and head as his father, captain Hook-came strutting towards him-his scarlet red coat flowing behind him and his icy blue eyes shaded by his large captain's hat.

Harry glanced at Uma-who held his stare-worry deep in her eyes. Visits from his father were never good news, and never ended well for Harry.

“Stealing apple’s boy? How-juvenile.” James sneered, hooking the apple and taking it from Harry’s hand. Harry winced, shuffling on his feet. “It was from a lost boy?” Harry said meekly, his loud personality always seemed to disappear around his father. James just rose his brow, tossing away the candy apple, landing in the dirt; ants quickly covering the hard caramel.

“not a real lost boy, they’re all on neverland” James sneered again, reaching out with his right hand and taking Harry’s shoulder-the teen flinching at the action-his father’s eyes were glinting oddly again-flashes of red circling within the ocean blue. Harry stayed quiet-knowing if he talked it wouldn’t end well. “ah! Speaking of-“ Harry was turned in his father’s hold, James’ hook pointed out towards Auradon that lay across the sea.

Harry blinked-wondering what the hell was going on-seeing Gaston talking to Gil-Gil looking…very confused as always. His father continued speaking-demanding Harry’s attention. “-Neverland, will soon be ours!” Harry furrowed his brows, looking at his father. “what do ye mean?” Harry asked, leaning back as his father got into his face.

“A chance to freedom boy, a chance to reclaim what is ours-you-along with-“ James gestured to Gil, who still seemed to struggle with what Gaston was explain. “what's his face-have been invited to attend a new school-in Auradon!”

Harry ripped away from his father's grasp-hearing Uma and his crew’s gasps of surprise as Harry shook his head wildly. “What?! hell no!” Harry snapped, crossing his arms stubbornly, anger overpowering his fear for a moment. “I ain't going ta’ no boarding school with-pathetic spoiled princes and snooty pink princesses!? What would tha’ point be? Learn how ta sip tea?” Harry huffed, tensing as his father used his hook to grab his collar-bringing him closer to James’ face.

“The wand. Boy.” James hissed, his eyes flashing red. “the wand. With it you-will free me, us. And then-we retake neverland-then-we claim the world and all its riches-That. Is the point. Understand?”

Harry just nodded, then he frowned-turning back towards Uma-was it just going to be him and Gil? what about Uma? “what about Um-“ Harry nearly asked if his oldest friend was coming along, but was quickly silenced with his chin being grabbed. Harry swallowed harshly-losing his voice as he stared into his father's eyes.

“You get the wand, you not only free me and your sisters-but your little sea witch friend as well. Is that not good enough?” Harry nodded, squeaking a little as he spoke. “Yes sir,” Harry rubbed his jaw as it was realized-his father walking back towards his ship as Gil finally arrived at the station.

“Pack your things, boys, you leave for Auradon in two hours.” Gil and Harry’s jaw dropped, staring wide-eyed at their fathers as they walked away as if they hadn’t just dropped the biggest life-changing news in their lives. “what?!” Harry yelped, feeling Uma’s hands on his arm as his father gave no further information, instead just turning and glaring at him.

“Boy!” Harry pressed his lips together, sharing a look with Uma before slowly following after his father, his head dropping between his shoulders as Gil went to follow Gaston to their house.

At least his father hadn’t come to tell Harry to get to ‘work’, he’d take randomly going to Auradon over ‘working’ any day.

“So you’re both leaving without me, eh?” Uma asked quietly as she sat on Harry’s bed-watching as he packed his things-he was going to only pack maybe a week's worth of clothes-but James told him to practically move out-as they wouldn’t be coming back to the isle after Harry got the wand.

“Not forever, we’ll be back fer ye.” Harry said with a smile, one only reserved for his best friend. “I promise Uma, I would never leave ye behind-as soon as I get tha’ wand, I’ll get ye and me sisters off-with our own ship-and we’ll rule the seas-like we planned.” Harry reached out, taking Uma’s clenched hand, smiling down at her as she looked up at him from behind her lashes.

She smiled, standing and hugging him, a moment just between them-friends since they could remember. They stayed like that for a moment, before they heard James stomping around on the deck-yelling at his crew. They pulled apart, holding each other's stare before Uma took out a gold bracelet made of hardened seashells she had collected from the isle shores. “here, something for you two, for good luck.” Uma mumbled; Harry held out his left hand to let her slip it on.

“I have one for Gil as well,” She handed him the 2nd bracelet for him to give to Gil, showing off her matching set that sat on her right wrist. Harry had to hide his smile, knowing Uma would get flustered if she knew how much he loved them, she always did when he complimented her crafts. Such as her pirate hat-or any of her outfits.

“Boy! Hurry it up!” Harry and Uma jumped at the sound of James' voice, and Harry hurried to pack up the rest of his things-throwing on his red leather jacket and grabbing his hook-zipping up his bags and making his way out of his room-Harriet, his older sister, taking his duffle bag from him. “I can carry it myself,” Harry muttered, but let her carry it. Then he, Uma, Harriet-and their little sister-Cj, all followed his dad off the jolly roger and towards the center of the isle.

“uuuh da?” Harry asked, his brows furrowing as Bargain castle, the home of Maleficent herself, came closer as they walked. “Why are we goin’ ta Bargain castle?” his father didn’t bother to glance at him-only clicking his tongue. “I suppose I forgot to mention it-it’s not just you and Gaston’s boy going to Auradon-Maleficent’s spawn and her crew will be going as well.”

Harry stopped in his tracks, a look and feeling of disgust and anger bubbling up. “oh fuck no,” Harry cursed, shaking his head and pointing at the castle, Uma sharing his same look of disgust at the thought of Mal. “I’m not going anywhere-or working with tha’ dragon bitch or her goons-not in a million years!”

His father sighed, one that meant danger, and turned-curling his lip as he spoke “I didn’t say you had to work with her-nor get along. The six of you are simply all going to the same place-I wouldn’t expect you to work with anyone but Gaston’s boy anyway-why let that brat get all the credit? This is a job for pirates after all.” With that-his father continued into the castle, passing up the lower floor clothing shop and ascending the stairs-Harriet, CJ, and Uma were forced to stay below as Maleficent’s knuckleheads stopped them.

“Guess we’ll see ye before ya go off,” Harriet muttered, handing him his back and patting his shoulder. “Don’t blow this, got it?” Harry nodded, pushing CJ away as she faked a sob and tried to hug him, cackling as he pushed her away. “Stop tryin’ ta steal me shit.” Harry grumbled as CJ continued to try to grab his wallet.

“But I must have something to remember you by!” CJ cried dramatically, reaching for his new gold shell bracelet now. “how else will I get by while you’re gone?!” Harry just rolled his eyes, pushing her off him for the last time.

“you’ll live ye lil shit-n stop talkin’ like da’, ye sound like a nut.” With that, Harry made his way into the castle-Gil and Gaston right behind him. Harry slipped Gil his bracelet-showing off his own when Gil looked a bit confused at it. “From Uma, just wait ta’ put it on after we leave-so yer dad doesn’t blow his shit.” Harry muttered, knowing how Gaston felt about jewelry-even if it was painted with gold. Gil nodded, pocketing his new bracelet in his thigh bag and setting his two large bags at the door as the two teens and Gaston entered the main room.

Mal looked absolutely thrilled to see them, turning to her mother with seething eyes. “what are they-” she pointed at them, almost baring her teeth at them as Harry glared back, his hooked hand twitching with the want to pin her to the Jolly Rodger. “-doing here!? you said-“

“I said you for and two others Malsy, now put your listening ears on my nasty girl.” Maleficent tapped Mal’s nose-causing Mal to screech and continue to complain about Harry and Gil. Harry snatched a vile of black nail polish while the two dark fairies bitched at each other.

Harry and Gil were forced to stand with Mal and her ‘friends’ as Maleficent finally silenced Mal’s screeching and sat down on her ‘throne’, filing her nails as she went through the details of her evil plot for the six teens. “You will go, you will find the fairy godmother, and you will bring me back her magic wand!” she blew her nails, winking at her daughter with a nasty smirk. “easy peasy!”

“what's in it for us?” Mal asked, and Harry was actually surprised to hear that-us? As in more than just Mal? That was surprising. Mal never cared about anybody other than herself. “Matching thrones? Hers-and-hers crowns?” Maleficent cooed-assuming Mal meant her in Mal’s ‘us’ talk. “I think she means us?” Carlos said, gesturing between him and Mal, and Mal nodded-gesturing between the four of them, completely ignoring Harry and Gil.

Maleficent just tossed her nail fire and beckoned Mal closer-who obeyed like always. Harry rolled his eyes, inviting Gil to sit at the back of the room near the balcony, plopping down on the ratty old black couch stained with purple and green.

As Maleficent chattered off to her daughter, Harry and Gil practically zoned out, not caring for what was going around them at the moment-well, Harry zoned out, Gil was bouncing his legs and looking everywhere he could-remembering everything to the last detail.

“And with that wand and my scepter-I will be able to bend both good and evil to my will!” Maleficent exclaimed, throwing her hands into the air in a dramatic gesture. EQ quickly shot down Maleficent’s solo act with a sneer and quick words. “Our will.” Cruella pointed at EQ, nodding as Jafar looked up at those words-giving Maleficent a look of disappointment for the fae already forgetting their deal.

“Our will, our will,” Maleficent waved the notion off-snapping to regain Mal’s attention. Harry went back to ignoring them, letting his head fall back and his eyes close-knowing Gil would nudge him if anything happened.

The villains all started to chatter away, EQ giving Evie a small lesson on princes and mirrors(no smiling, wrinkles!), Cruella forbidding Carlos from leaving, giving the pup hope that his mom would actually miss him for loving reasons(she just needed someone to scrape her feet-gross), and Jafar needing Jay to stay to stock his shop’s shelves(half of which Harry stole from only to sell back, but that was Jafar’s whole business).

Harry peeked as Jay started to take the loot he had scored that day, ending with a bronze lap that Jafar dropped everything for and started to rub-only for Jay to mutter that he already tried. The lamp now boring, Jafar scoffed and threw the object back at Jay, which nearly hit him in the face if he hadn't leaned back to catch it.

“Well, Evie’s not going anywhere till we get rid of this unibrow,” EQ muttered, taking a pair of tweezers and plucking the offending hair from Evie’s forehead-to which Harry wasn’t even sure there was a hair there-Evie’s brows were practically perfect.

“what is wrong with you all?! people used to cower at the mention of our names!!!” Maleficent screeched, taking Mal and throwing her from the stairs to the table, Mal slammed her hands on the surface to regain her balance as she stared wide-eyed at Carlos, who shared her expression as the grown villains all stared at Maleficent.

Hook and Gaston looked offended, as they hadn’t been against Maleficent’s plan nor had they plans to keep their boys here. “For twenty years, I have searched for a way off this island-for twenty years, they have robbed us from our revenge!” she turned to EQ, and began to list off the revenge the villains’ felt they deserved. “Revenge on snow white and her horrible little men.” EQ just grimaced as Evie plucked a hair, looking a bit offended for her mother as Maleficent continued on.

“Revenge on Aladdin and his bloated Genie!” Jafar puffed up, going to attack Maleficent with his spoon in anger as she spoke of his worst enemies-only for Jay to stop him. “Revenge on those sneaky dalmatians-who escaped your clutches!” Cruella cackled, shaking her head as she pet the stuffed dalmatian puppy that sat on her shoulder-Carlos hiding behind her to protect himself from Maleficent.

“Oh but they didn’t get the baby~ but-but they didn’t get the baby!“ she laughed manically-causing Maleficent to back away in concern as Cruella continued to cackle about her stuffed toy. Maleficent turned to Gaston- “Revenge on Beast and his belle.” Gil shivered at the look of darkness on his father's face-knowing what he intended to do if he got revenge-and it wasn’t pretty for Belle. “Revenge on Pan and his lost boys!”

Hook’s eyes turned red and Harry shuffled towards Gil, glancing away as he crossed his arms. He hated when that happened-it always hurt when his father's eyes went red-he had the scars to prove it. “and I! Maleficent! The evilest of them all~” Maleficent purred, sitting on EQ’s lap and stealing her mirror, admiring herself in it. “will finally get revenge, on sleeping beauty…and her relentless little prince.” Maleficent hissed, turning back to the villains.

“Villains!” they all snapped to attention, Jafar swallowing the food he had been making in the small kitchen of Maleficent’s flat. “yes?” Maleficent smiled, one that made all the teens shiver-they hated that smile-even Mal. “Our day has come~ EQ?” the old queen hummed, taking the small mirror as Maleficent handed it back to her, looking towards Evie as she got off EQ’s lap “give her the magic mirror.”

Evie was handed a handheld mirror-cracked at the edges and missing some pieces. Evie looked disappointed. “This is your magic mirror?” Evie asked, admiring herself in the broken glass. EQ just hummed, nodding. “Well, it ain't what it used to be, then again- neither are we?” EQ joked, laughing with Maleficent. “But it will help you find things,” Evie’s eyes lit up and she interrupted her mother in her excitement. “Like a prince~!” EQ chuckled, glancing up at Maleficent “Like my waist line-“ she joked, laughing still as Maleficent groaned and rolled her eyes-wanting to get to the point already. “like the magic wand-hello?”

EQ pursed her lips and nodded, agreeing they had gotten off track. “My spell book, my book-I need my-that book” Maleficent turned as EQ snapped her fingers and pointed back at the fridge-which Maleficent deemed her ‘safe’. Harry blinked, watching as the mistress of all evil struggled with a damn refrigerator. Mal just looked embarrassed, her ears turning pink as her friends and shrimpy’s boys saw her mother make a fool of herself.

“Queen help me! I can never figure this thing out!” as EQ helped Maleficent, Hook grabbed Harry’s shoulder and dragged him towards the balcony, giving the two some privacy. “da?” Harry asked quietly, unsure of what he wanted, his brow’s furrowing as his father handed him a large blank piece of paper that folded over itself multiple times. “A piece of paper?” Harry flipped it over, opening it and then turning it over twice more. “A blank piece of paper?”

James rolled his eyes, tapping his hook on the paper that looked and felt very old. “Not just any piece of paper, this map-like the mirror-is magical, I’ve only used it a handful of times myself-but as I say-any good pirate knows how to read and use a map.” Harry just stared at his dad, closing the blank paper and licking his lips. Was his dad having another episode?

“This?” Harry held up the re-folded map. “is a map?” James nodded, tapping the map again with his hook. “yes, magic. It doesn’t work here, but it will in Auradon. It’ll give you a detailed map of wherever you are, nicked it from some magic school in Scotland about forty years ago.” Harry slowly nodded, pocketing the map and grabbing his backpack as a horn sounded from outside. James grabbed his neck and Harry froze, his breath stopping with him as James muttered in his ear the password and lock to the map. Along with a threat.

“if you fail me, you will never see your sisters or sea witch again. Understand?” Harry nodded, swallowing down his fear. “Good. Go.” Harry bolted off, grabbing his bags as he and Gil raced down the stairs and back out into the main square-where a long black car was waiting for them.

Harry let out a whistle, handing his bag to the driver and bumping his sisters goodbye, squeezing Uma’s hand with a hidden smile before he and Gil slid into the car. “Tell me smee’s I’ll be back before they know it.” Harry called out to Harriet-who nodded, backing up as Evie and Carlos ran out-the pup jumping into the limo to avoid his mother who was screeching at him.

Carlos tumbled to the floor, hitting Harry’s legs and grunting as Gil lifted him into the seat next to him-Evie and Jay climbing in after Carlos. Jay and Harry glared at each other, making Evie and Gil sigh as the two thieves had a small stare-off. “Oh quit it,” Mal snapped as she slid into the limo, taking her spot at the end of the seats next to Evie. “Go flirt somewhere else-I do not have the stomach to watch you two make eyes.” Harry and Jay sputtered, Jay’s cheeks going red as Harry rolled his eyes, catching Uma’s gaze as she stared at him and Gil. Harry offered what he hoped was a comforting grin-jolting as the car began to move-leaving the isle-and Uma, behind.

Uma watched as her only friends drove off without her, her fingers playing with her golden bracelet as Harriet and CJ stood with her-the three staring as the limo disappeared from view.

“Please don’t forget about me,” Uma whispered, feeling a small pit of dread in her gut as the barrier flashed gold.
