Look at Andreas in Ben10 make me say this: Andreas to me is a child.

I mean, is not the first time we see this, no?

Yeah, weird theory, but to me (and since I saw the dub of my language) Andreas give me the idea that he is still a child. He is not developed to understand what is going on, he attack out of fear and go behind who he believe is nice or strong (who is natural for a child, feeling loved and protect). He is aware of danger, but he can be easily overmelthed and need reassurance.

He helped, it's true, he died etc... But the sad true is that kids can be aware of things. Andreas is aware, process things, but still is that little kid who thought it was a game.

Maybe his specie develope before physically and after mentally. The various Talpaedan recognize an adult by a child, teen etc by the hormones and others things. It make sense they develope before physically, since their own plante is a desert, the wind is so strong to create sandstorms... They might need protection form the outside, but still mentally are kids and the adults help them. Let them being still kids.

And with this realization, that almo mean... Andreas not only is a child, BUT ALSO IS A TRAUMATIZATED, ABUSED BY AN OSMOSIAN AND THE FOREVER KNIGHT. USED BY THE OTHERS TOO.

I really want to talk more about my Ben having post concussion syndrome theroy/AU. and give it kind of a more clear timeline. even if that means talking into the void.

So, as much as I love max. It's partly his fault since Ben was under his care when he got the Omnitrix, and that first summer there's no way Ben had time to properly rest and recover from anything.

so Ben gets back home and suddenly he's dealing with night terrors, migraines, irritability, (CPTSD like symptoms too) can't focus, dizziness, and problems with concentration.

since Ben keeps fighting aliens until he gets the watch off probably for another year or atleast a few months he likely gets multiple concussions.

in my experience the combination of having multiple concussions and never being allowed to take time off to recover properly especially from more intense ones causes alot of the symptoms to be permeant, sometimes things like stress or too much new information to process make it worse. making school extramly difficult even though I use to have almost a photographic memory like Ben.

Ben gets the watch off but continues to struggle and eventually gets on migraines meds that have alot of side effects, preventing him form gaining weight bc of stomach issues or tasting soda. causing him to switch to smoothies to mask both of them.

then by omniverse he's put on a higher dose, or it's not working as well. he's also had more concussions since starting his treatment and that complicates things. Rook doesn't know about how bens battles have effected his health, that Ben isn't saying words wrong or forgetting things because he doesn't care he does care but between the damage the side effects it's hard. He wants to listen to rook he just can't sometimes it's too overwhelming, so is trying to plan things. that's why he runs in to save the day it's the only way his brain really gets the job done.

Eventually I want to say Ben does tell rook, or he learns more details about what Ben's struggling with from talking to Gwen and Kevin or one of the other Tennysons. Maybe after Ben tries a new medication and gets sick from it. Ben's surprised it's not in his plumber file, but it wouldn't be it would be in his medical records. (I might be planning some fics based on this)

after omniverse I headcannon that he would ask Gwen for help, or look for more advanced medical care then what's offered on earth since using the Omnitrix is making his migraines worse bc of the green light.

eventually he gets switched to a different medication, or finds a new treatment that helps and is able to talk asmuth into giving him voice command and other accomodations to make the watch more accessable. since the way he uses the watch as ben1000 is completely different and much more user friendly.

obviously concussions and medication effect everyone differently. I'm just going off of my own experience. I've had multiple pretty bad head Injuries, and recently started drinking alot of smoothies (bc I can't taste soda or energy drinks anymore) I remember thinking "this feels familiar" and then I remembered Ben.

everyone with this condition struggles with different symptoms from mild to sever ranging from a few weeks to life long. in my case I'm dealing with some pretty bad life long consequences. I never expected Ben to become a comfort charater for this, since he definitely wasn't my favorite before but here I am and here we are. Ben making me feel less alone and less alienated lol.

Okay so from now on I’m gonna try and stave off of doing any complaining about Thundercats Roar until I get to see it with my own eyes because despite the fact that I’m not holding my breath I am still hoping it will surprise me and maybe I’ll find something worthwhile in it  that I would otherwise miss if blinded by too much anger or hatred towards it, BUT I do want to open a conversation about something.

That something is “Why Thundercats?”

I can fully accept that a show was not made for me in mind.  Back in the late 2000′s a number of shows had annoying ‘Karma Houdini’ protagonists and I accepted that they were not made for me.  I do think not being the target demographic is an acceptable reason to simply not like something.  “This wasn’t made for you, you are not the target audience.” is a recurring argument in favor of TCR, but I can’t help but string another common question that’s used in disdain for TCR and that is “Then why not do something original?”

I wonder this question too and by reading many many discussions about this upcoming reboot I’ve actually yet to see an answer to that one question that makes sense to me?  One answer I’ve seen to why do a reboot instead of original story is to “Bring TC to a new generation” or “Ignite interest in TC as a franchise.”  Both of these are a good reason for rebooting but then that spawns new questions for me.

-Why reignite interest in an existing (old) franchise?  Is it to get them to check out the original or 2011 ver.?  If so the only way for that to profit would be to also either re-aire or Bluray/DVD re-release the old Ver.’s.... Which would be pretty rad actually. But also

-Why create something so VASTLY different from the original? I understand that children's tastes have changed, but if that’s the case then why create something so VASTLY different if you want them to check out the original?  Wouldn’t they be put off that it is so much different than the TCR that they fell in love with?  I feel like I find far more people protective of THEIR childhood then actually checking out source material like older iterations or comics.  Try telling people that Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers were actually silver, the monkeys were not evil, and it was in fact not a dream.  It don’t go well.

I can see why things like the Ben 10 Reboot or Sailor Moon Crystal could spark interest in the earlier versions, despite a different direction they still have enough in common that it can spawn new interest in those hungry for more of that thing they love without being put too off by the older content, (and Sailor Moon got an entirely new english dub so +1point for re-release!)  But if TCR is more TTG and less Ben10′16 will kids be happy with an action show after coming off what’s looking to be mostly a comedy? BUT

-If it’s not to get new people to check out the old shows, and it’s not even slightly for the people who watched the old shows. then why isn’t it an original story if it’s so different that it can’t compare to the other ver.?  If it’s not recognizable as Thundercats but isn’t FOR OLD or to make NEW lovers of Thundercats, if the comedy calarts Teen Titans GO formula is what really sells to the kids these days then I ask: 

Why did it have to be a reboot?  Why Thundercats?

SO What do you guys think?  Got any theories why a reboot would be better favored over something original?  Do you think CN might start airing reruns of the old thundercats or the 2011 reboot?  Maybe even new dvd releases? Are you hoping it’s at least so bad its good?

I’m hoping this leads to civil conversations and thoughts about why choose a reboot?
