I know we don't talk and there's stuff we may not agree with. But I am truly sorry you've dealt with a lot of drama over fictional crap. And I'm sorry if my posts in the past ever contributed to that. Hope you have a better day.
Hey... That's all fine, don't worry! After all, it takes a lot of time and Insight to realise that Gehrman is a very gentle and respectful man and Godrick is an absolute gigachad kdkdkshdffhhgfds /lh /lh
But yeah, on a serious note. It was quite frustrating to find out the real motivation under all that... mess was something so pathetic, but at the same time this is what happens when people make engagement with media and fandoms a moral, political act. Not necessarily a problem, after all, I was the one who concluded that the way a fan judges fictional characters and other fans will very well reveal how cruel they are to real people who do something bad, or how much they will forgive based on personal sympathies. And my mad ravings about caring about female characters! I think the problem comes when a fan is so insecure that they have nothing else besides this defence of ideals through fandomry. If your only way to assert yourself is to be a good guy punishing the bad guys, and that mad raving loredigger discovers there is NO bad guy, what is left of you?
Tumblr media
This is why it is crucial to have passion for nurturing rather than for undermining! I think if you speak like this, you've found this truth too? This is true that I don't know you very much (mutual-in-law thing), but to be honest.. you didn't poison my fandom experience at all? I tend to never be aware about discourse until someone basically calls me for help fhdhgsdgdfs Can't scout the fandom tag regularly!
But not only it actually was a quite long ago I saw a "negative" post from you, but also I've seen through the posts that my friends liked or reblogged from you that you've actually became very eager person to defend people's passion and interests! I think the post that particularly got stuck with me was when you resented seeing someone's light die after some Redditor asshole "well aktualy"'d a thing they were excited about creating (not exact wording but maybe you remember too)? Like... you are fine, man. At that point I realised that you were a good fan and in the end valued people's creativity and passion over personal preferences. That you never wanted to be THAT guy, even if your interpretation could not be further from someone else's. Coming to terms with what actually matters in fandomry is very mature and I am happy to see this attitude!
I am still glad that you messaged me about this though; I did not expect this, but thank you! I think I will continue getting involved in fictional discourse because my autistic senses cannot ignore factually incorrect takes with a clear insidious motive, and.. eh, sooner or later, I'll piss off the wrong guy again. Don't feel bad for me when it inevitably happens :p I've accepted the shortcomings when I decided to be the debate guy. Simply laughing at some gremlin starting a discourse with the girls in DMs and not stressing over it is only funny until I realise that newer fans could get misinformed right off the bat.

So I was talking to my brother and we were cackling about the deaths in supernatural. Like this isn't how you end a show. Who tf did Sam marry? Where is Cas? How the fuck did he "help" with heaven if he's DEAD!?! Dean never got his tetanus shot and dies and Sam agrees to not bring him back. Who on spn's writing and producing staff was like " I know! We retcon the already flawed ending we had and kill them off!" And everyone clapped I presume. Like what? Sam's son! Does he hunt? No? Then what? Sam looks so old and his son looks like 16 and his son doesn't even cry he's just like "you can die now" DIRECT QUOTE. What fan is clapping at the end of this.
Me personally watching it again I was singing and dancing and making paroidies of songs about how everyone is dead. I was ngl actually insane. I have never been so mad everrr. EVERRRR. Idk I just feel betrayed by this season. Besides the episode about Lady Luck. Everything else made me pissed.
This isn't a win. I have been explaining the plot to my brother and he said " Why wouldn't they just except gods deal, if everyone dies" and that's true! And some redditor reminded me. Wtf happened to the other worlds are they just dead forever. Sam and Dean were okay with every other world dying except Thiers. They only surrender when there is nothing left. No matter the good they have done BILLIONS UPON BILLONS OF LIVES ARE GONE BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO NOT KILL EACH OTHER. That is in direct conflict with EVERYTHING THIS SHOW HAS BEEN ABOUT!!!
That's not the boys I've been following for 14 seasons. Is that the ones you have? And also I realize Supernatural isn't as popular as I once thought. Most people haven't even binged the whole thing. They think it should have ended after season five. Or their favorite character is someone who briefly shows up and then never comes back again. What I have to say about those people is do you care about these characters? Do you like this show? Because in season five Sam gets sent to be tortured in hell forever. Clearly you didn't like him.
One of my favorite episodes EVER "Lebanon" is in the later seasons. And dismissing seasons you haven't even SEEN is ridiculous. How can you call yourself a fan if in all those years of fandom you could watch four more seasons. Or whatever. It makes me kinda mad. I know that's not the case for everyone but I seeing a shit load of it on mother's Hellsite ( aka Here, duh).
I have changed and grow throughout this binge and learned to like Supernatural on a deeper level and those who reduce it to " It's SUPPOSED TO BE BAD" Make me want to pull a Crowley and 😁🗡️ 💀⚰️
But those are my feelings. If yours differ that's valid. You are valid.
I just wish this whole season didn't feel like a dark fever dream. Every scene was like some weird song and dance sequence. Or a bizaro reality played out for way too long. At every death or absence someone at some point said that they wouldn't be gone " tHeY wOuLd Be iN tHiEr HeArT" ☹️😭🤢🤮
Criminal.
Everything seemed weak like at the end they were gonna pull some "it was all a dream" crap on us. Season 15 didn't feel like an ending. Not even close.
I can't express how I felt at the end of this. Hollowed out, would be the closest. I thought I would cry or something but it felt so cheap.
Don't get me started on the reconning of the lore. I haven't seen the prequel yet but I'm guessing it's more of the same. People told me it was a flop so I'm guessing keeper of spn or whatever revival reunion spin-off isn't happening.
Disappointed. But also I felt freedom. Like supernatural was holding me to something and finishing it let me go.

In The Interest of Fairness
I've given the When Calls The Heart subreddit shit a few times for questionable decisions and tasteless discussions, but I saw this thread about the ratings and they're actually having an intelligent discussion, so credit where credit is due. https://www.reddit.com/r/WhenCallsTheHeart/comments/1c2pcar/the_ratings_are_there/ There's a ton of boomers in this fandom and I try not to make boomer jokes because it's played out at this point, but holy crap some of you people need to learn that this isn't the cozy 80's anymore. Ma, Pa and the kids aren't gathering around the TV to watch their favorite show on one of 3 channels at 9pm on the dot. Streaming has permanently changed things and every season there's like 5 more ways to watch When Calls The Heart online and fewer people bothering with cable. I've mentioned it before, but it's absurd how many comments on social media are just fans asking "HOW DO I WATCH!?"
Also, good on the redditors who pointed out that there are other countries in the world besides America and that their ratings are important to.

Just read through the discussions in the Squid Game subreddit and I don't get how and why many people are shitting on Gi-hun's actions in the season finale? (spoilers ahead)
A lot of them sound exactly like a rich capitalist, Il-nam when he said "You've been sitting on 45.6B ₩ for a year and not using it. Why, is it because you feel guilty?" like, do these people really think Gi-hun is a shitty person specifically for this reason?
Do people really expect him to quickly or immediately pick himself up and spend the money for good causes?
It's not just survivor's guilt. Gi-hun didn't start out as a good or competent character, and even though he treated some other people kindly and was arguably the most humane contestant, the Game extremely traumatized him. Is his trauma supposed to make him a *better* person?
He was just dumped back into his old life, with only a new bank account containing his prize. When he returned home too late to help his mother, he'd never been more alone, not just literally. His background and the Game staff giving no further assistance mean Gi-hun doesn't have the support to process his trauma, or the skills to manage his new wealth. Of course he's not in a good mental state to just get his life together!
And eventually, he does what he can, the way he knows how! He gets Sae-byeok's brother out of the orphanage, he gives a lot of money to Sang-woo's mother, and he tries to visit his daughter. But the show makes it very clear that he can't go on with his life and money while the Game continues to kill more people like him, not after everything he suffered.
In the discussions about Gi-hun's character development, in the arguments whether he changed for the better, we shouldn't ignore what he went through and how that affected him, nor point to these as reasons why Gi-hun is still a shitty person.
Squid Game is not about some underdog overcoming all odds and walking away with a reward and an improved personality. Squid Game shows us how people do bad things and how choices are an illusion in a capitalist society rigged against them at every turn. It shows how people can retain their humanity and treat others kindly even in these same terrible circumstances.
And it shows how trauma can make people worse; it isn't what makes someone a better person. Trauma can take years to recover from, a lifetime to carry. But if anything, Gi-hun's trauma led to his determination to take down the people behind the Game.

AITA
My bestie’s latest quarantine hobby is trolling through AITA on reddit and sending me ones she thinks will make me mad, so. I got inspired.
E/R, modern AU.
The sun was bright and the mood, all things considered, was high, as the crowd gathered by the river in preparation for the march downtown to call for defunding the police. Black Lives Matter was leading the protest, and Enjolras had volunteered Les Amis to serve as support and allies in whatever way they could, which mostly meant making sure folks were wearing masks and that no one decided to try something stupid with the cops.
“Good crowd,” Courfeyrac remarked, bouncing lightly on the balls of his feet as he glanced around before looking back at Enjolras. “As much as I’m sure it’s killing you that they’re only calling for defunding and not abolition.”
“Yeah, well, not even a year ago, no one was talking about defunding the police,” Enjolras pointed out, a little sourly, adjusting his mask, which was emblazoned with WHITE SILENCE IS VIOLENCE. “I’ll take what progress I can get.”
Courfeyrac smirked. “You sound practically moderate.”
Enjolras scowled. “Take that back, or—”
His threat was cut off by the arrival of Joly, Bossuet and Grantaire. It was hard to tell by the masks all three wore, but Enjolras was pretty sure that all three were grinning, and judging by the way Bossuet was swaying, just slightly, it wasn’t just because they were in a good mood.
“I’ll take it you three decided to hit up a brunch spot on your way here?” Enjolras asked, even more sourly than before.
“A man has to eat,” Joly said innocently, which would have gone over much more believably had he not giggled at the end.
“Besides, we only ordered one drink,” Bossuet assured him.
Enjolras pinched the bridge of his nose. “Let me guess,” he said dryly, “you each ordered a bottomless mimosa.” He didn’t wait for any of them to confirm it. “And how many refills of said drink did you also order?”
Joly and Bossuet looked at each other and laughed, and Grantaire pulled his mask down to grin lazily at Enjolras. “Let me put it this way,” he said, “more than one and less than ten.” He paused. “Probably. I did lose track after about seven.”
Snickering, Joly and Bossuet headed over to join the rest of Les Amis, but when Grantaire made to follow, Enjolras blocked him, his arms crossed in front of his chest. “You’re drunk,” he said accusingly, and Grantaire’s grinned widened.
“Well, I’m sure as shit not sober.”
“Put your mask back on,” Enjolras ordered, less concerned for himself, as Grantaire was part of his quarantine bubble, and more for everyone else milling around before the march started. Especially any journalists who might love to get a shot of BLM protesters breaking the mask mandate. “And go home, Grantaire.”
Grantaire slowly pulled his mask back up over his mouth and nose, smoothing it into place before looking at Enjolras plaintively, all trace of humor vanishing from his expression. “Let me stay here,” he said, his voice soft, and not just from the cotton that covered his mouth.
Enjolras shook his head, well aware that even if Grantaire might suddenly sound sober, he wasn’t. “Go home,” he repeated. “The last thing we need is your drunk ass picking a fight with the cops or something worse and turning this whole thing into a riot instead of the peaceful protest its organizers intended.”
“What, you think I’m incapable of going two or three hours without starting a brawl?” Grantaire asked, incredulous.
Enjolras arched an eyebrow. “I think you’re incapable of a great many things.”
Grantaire’s lip curled. “Like believing, thinking, willing, living and dying?”
“Only you seem to think you’re incapable of dying,” Enjolras said quietly, before repeating, one more time, “Go home.”
But Grantaire shook his head, taking a step toward him. “If you’re so worried about it, then send Bahorel home, too!” he insisted. “Send home Joly and Bossuet who are just as drunk as I am. Or else let me stay.”
“No.”
Enjolras said the word calmly, but Grantaire recoiled as if he had shorted. “And why not?”
“Because I trust them!” Enjolras burst, his temper getting the better of him, and he scrubbed a hand across his face before adding, what he hoped was a calmer way, “I trust them to actually listen to my instructions and keep themselves out of trouble.”
But something in Grantaire’s face clouded as soon as Enjolras had said that he trusted them, and Enjolras had a bad feeling that he hadn’t really listened to the last part. “Right,” Grantaire said, a little dully, already turning away. “Well. I’ll see you later, I guess.”
“Grantaire,” Enjolras sighed, reaching out to catch his arm, but Grantaire shrugged him off, wandering towards the river, the hunch of his shoulders the only indication that he had any care in the world. Enjolras stared after him for a long moment, his expression troubled.
----------
Four days later, Grantaire rolled over in bed when his phone buzzed. He picked it up off his nightstand, saw that it was a text from Enjolras, and immediately tossed it down again, groaning.
He hadn’t talked to Enjolras since that morning of the BLM protest, and at this rate, he wasn’t sure he ever wanted to. Not when he knew that Enjolras didn’t trust him.
Joly would tell him he was being dramatic, and Bossuet would tell him to just text Enjolras and apologize and move on, and since Grantaire wanted to hear neither of those things, he also wasn’t talking to Joly or Bossuet.
Instead, he rolled over onto his stomach, grabbing his phone and stubbornly ignoring the text message from Enjolras still sitting, unread, in his messages. Instead, he clicked on twitter, figuring if he was going to sulk, he might as well sulk while reading about someone else’s misery.
A half hour later, Grantaire had scrolled through what felt like half of twitter before he stumbled upon a random tweet that linked to an ‘Am I the Asshole?’ post on the subreddit of the same name, and he glanced at the clock before deciding he had enough time to waste a couple of hours on a whole new level of misery.
He might’ve kept scrolling for hours, when he stumbled upon an AITA post that was surprisingly familiar.
Suspiciously familiar.
Like he had lived it.
He hesitated for only a moment before clicking on the post.
Posted by u/RadianceoftheFuture 8 hours ago AITA for kicking my friend out of a protest?
So I (25M) was attending a BLM protest the other day with the social justice organization I run. One of my friends, who we’ll call ‘R” (28M), showed up drunk and, IMO, looking to start a fight. This was the last thing I wanted, since we were there to be good allies, and starting fights or inciting a riot as white folks who will get away with it ain’t it. So naturally, I told him to go home.
Now here’s where I may be the asshole. R started arguing with me, and pointed out that some our other friends who were also there were also drunk, and one of our other friends who was there has a history of starting fights, so he asked me why I wasn’t making them leave. I told him it was because I trusted them.
Which is true, but not exactly how I wanted to word it, and I could tell that he was hurt by the implication that I didn’t trust him. And I do trust him, but I also didn’t want to spend the entire time worried about him. Anyway, he left, and he hasn’t talked to me since. If I’m the asshole, I want to apologize so that we can go back to being friends, and even if I wasn’t, I still want to figure out a way for us to talk again. I miss him. So tell me, AITA?
Grantaire stared at his phone, torn between something warm spreading in his chest at the fact that Enjolras cared enough to ask anonymous strangers on the internet about this, and freaking out because Enjolras had posted about their disagreement on the internet.
The man had only two speeds, it seemed, and somehow, Grantaire always ended up dealing with Enjolras on the highest speed.
Numbly, and mostly in an attempt to gather his thoughts, Grantaire scrolled through the comments on the post, unsurprised to see a decent mix of judgements from the redditors. More than expected YTAs (you’re the asshole), plus a number of NTAs (not the asshole), and, predominantly, a smattering of NAH (no assholes here).
Halfway down the page, he paused, realizing that the person who had written the post had responded to a question.
u/oldcoats_oldfriends - 7 hours ago INFO: why do you trust your other friends and not R?
u/RadianceoftheFuture - 6 hours ago Because R has a history of getting himself in trouble, whether by running his mouth off when he shouldn’t or picking fights with guys twice his side, and the trouble he gets into tends to happen after he’s been drinking. So when you put the two together, I was worried he’d do something stupid and get himself locked up or worse. And since keeping an eye on the rest of the protest was important, I knew I couldn’t afford to be distracted by also keeping an eye on him.
And for the record, I trust R with a lot. He’s not as ideological as a lot of us, doesn’t even have a lot of the same beliefs, but I know he would never do anything to hurt the cause, or me. Of course, he might not HELP the Cause, or me, but still. I’ve never once doubted that R would take a bullet for me, if it came to that. I would just never in a million years want him to.
Grantaire swallowed, hard. Of course he would take a bullet for Enjolras, or more, but it had never occurred to him that knowing that might make Enjolras worried. Worried that Grantaire would do something stupid.
If only the man knew that Grantaire worried about Enjolras in exactly the same way.
Hesitating for only a moment, he decided to leave a comment of his own.
u/MyFullGlass1832 - 1 minute ago NAH. Sure your friend shouldn’t have been drunk and you were right to kick him out, but drinking doesn’t make him an asshole (though not talking to you might). I am curious why you would have been worried about him. He’s a grown man and not your responsibility.
He quickly closed out of reddit, not wanting to do something stupid and refresh until Enjolras responded, but he only half-paid attention to the tweets he scrolled past, glancing at the clock to see if it was still pathetic for him to check for a response.
But to his shock, when he finally gave in and checked forty-five minutes later, Enjolras had answered, and something in Grantaire’s stomach twisted to know that he was still checking the thread, still seeking a resolution.
u/RadianceoftheFuture - 39 minutes ago Maybe ‘worried about’ is the wrong term, but he’s my friend. I didn’t want him to get hurt, or worse, because he was drunk. It wouldn’t be the first time he’s gotten hurt on my watch, and everytime it happens, it’s awful. And not just because he won’t shut up about it for the next six months - I always feel so guilty, like I should’ve been protecting him. I know that’s not realistic, so the very least I can do is send him home when I think he’s liable to hurt himself. That way I can sleep at night knowing I did what I could.
The breath caught in Grantaire’s throat, and his chest felt tight, especially as he read the follow up comments.
u/valiant.artisan - 34 minutes ago INFO: Are you and R gay?
u/tremble_b4apoppy - 26 minutes ago Dude you may be in love with R.
u/timidinrepose - 21 minutes ago OMG this is the sweetest thing I’ve read all day.
u/Lymantria_dispar - 12 minutes ago. Pretty sure this might go a little beyond just friendship. Either way, I’m glad you care about your friend, and even though you weren’t TA, you should call him and explain why you told him to go home.
Grantaire couldn’t seem to stop his stupid smile as he stared at the computer, and this time, he didn’t hesitate, opening his text chain with Enjolras without reading any of Enjolras’s previous texts. He didn’t need to read them know.
NTA.
He sent the text and held his breath, wondering if Enjolras would acknowledge it, immediately, or try to play it cool. His one word answer indicate the former: Sorry?
But Grantaire wasn’t nearly as willing to play it coy. Not anymore. Your AITA post. I’m giving you my judgment. NTA.
In his mind, he could see Enjolras blush, that same way he did when he was frustrated, two spots of color rising high in his cheek as he stared at Grantaire. You saw that?
Even in his mind, it was a beautiful sight. Yeah
Then you should know, I agree with the majority opinion.
The image of Enjolras blushing disappeared, leaving Grantaire blinking at his phone, his brow furrowed as he tried to think of what the majority option would have been. Oh?
NAH.
Grantaire grinned, but before he could respond, Enjolras texted, Want to come over? I think I owe you an explanation in person.
I thought you’d never ask.

u/ RadianceoftheFuture - 45 minutes ago UPDATE: AITA for kicking my friend out of a protest?
(Original.)
Thank you all very much for your feedback in the original post. There were a variety of perspectives on this, but some of the comments on the original post made me realize that I may in fact feel something more than friendship towards R, and it’s a good thing I figured it out, because he found the post, and even commented on it without me knowing! Anyway, we talked, I explained how I felt, and it turns out R’s had a thing for me pretty much since he’s known me. Anyway, we’re dating now, and while this isn’t exactly going to solve my problem of worrying about him, I also think he’ll be on somewhat better behavior now. For my sake at least.
We still have a lot to work on together, but we’re moving in the right direction. And to think, I probably never would’ve figured it out if it weren’t for reddit, of all the websites.
u/MyFullGlass1832 - 3 minutes ago WIBTA for hijacking my boyfriend’s reddit post to tell him that I love him?
u/ RadianceoftheFuture - 2 minutes ago YTA for sitting literally two feet away from me and responding to a reddit post when we could be doing something far more exciting.
u/MyFullGlass1832 - 1 minute ago ...good point.

The short answer is, obviously, the Space Defense Front did nothing wrong.
In a longer answer, it can be a bit hard to tell what the SDF were about. In their first real appearance, we have a guy conducting a bombing campaign on the moon. The target of the bombings (smoke rooms) seems chosen to minimize civilian casualties while still getting attention (smoke rooms have separate ventilation and are built with fires in mind, so set off a bomb in one and the station as a whole is left intact). This sort bombing campaign was very effective for the IRA and has been used with varying degrees of violence and success by all movements. It gets attention for your ideas, can provoke violent reaction from the government/corporation targeted creating sympathy for the cause, and repairing the damaged infrastructure costs money which makes the occupation less profitable. It’s good and it’s valid and anyone who says otherwise is a naïve fool who will grow out of it one day or follow the rest through the kitchen.
Then our guy just goes straight for the throat with an attack on ISPV-7. If he’d been successful, that would have been the end of human exploitation of space. No need for consciousness of anything, and there was no room for the negotiation that happened in the finale. It makes no sense. However, ISPV-7 was only in so much danger due to a perfect storm of bad decisions by the Commander. So, it seems reasonable that the SDF had no idea how close they came to a pyrrhic victory and their intention was just to deliver another bloody nose.
Maybe, but our guy also seems to think he’s the fucking Lorax.
Tumblr media
So, it is all very confused. A lot of risk was undertaken in this bombing campaign to get people to hear this manifesto, and the manifesto is just some exposition mixed with mangled quotes from Dr. Seuss and Kaczynski, and if he had been “successful” in his last attack he wouldn’t have needed to say anything. The Kessler Syndrome would have pinned mankind to Earth for years without any need for ideology or propaganda.
Still, the action is heroic. Our guy is punching well above his weight class and reminding the oligarchs and technicians that they can’t ascend beyond the reach of vengeance and the grasping claws of spite. A lot of people point to the crab bucket and say “oh, those other crabs are being so mean” ignoring that the crab trying to escape is doing so by stepping on the heads of the others and leaving them to their deaths. There’s a lot of dirty little words for the wannabe escapees. “Kapo” is one of them; “collaborateur” is another.
Besides, even when they’re just off their meds, like people burning 5G towers, violent refusers still serve a valuable role. Let’s get microbiotic: in a colony of bacteria, even if everybuggy is a clone there are still point mutations and differences in the amount and type of plasmids that they’re packing. These differences mean that there are different levels of signaling molecules in each cell and enzymes with different active sites and so on. These differences provide the basis of resistance when something comes in and starts taking heads. To get a bit rat, lines for the preservation of the Sentinelese is the most important thing for protecting H. sapiens from the “benevolence” of CelestAI.
When the SDF returns, they’re a lot more coherent. Mostly because they’re represented by Hakim, and when Hakim and Hachi talk, I don’t know how anyone couldn’t come down on the side of Hakim. Hachi just spews Redditor cliches about how much he fucking loves science, and Hakim responds with the cold hard reality: all that is happening is the increasing stratification between oligarchs, middle managers and engineers above. Maybe you think the millions who died from lack of food or medicine each year are also a cliché, well that’s an opinion you can share with the folks who also think “6 million” is a cliché. Whatever nonsense about “humanity” one says, humans aren’t going anywhere without violence and that violence belongs in the hands of everypony. There will never not be the need for those who blow stuff up and threaten the status quo.
Funnily enough, Locke Smith (one of the best anime names ever and a name that could only be an anime name, John Locke + Adam Smith = lock maker and burglar) would fully agree, which is why he doesn’t take the SDF’s actions personally. The SDF is the necessary obverse face of Locke Smith. Ruthless communalists and ruthless individualists waging a proxy war through all H. sapiens. A lot of meat gets ground up between them, but it is necessary to bend and/or break the backs of the oligarchs and bring about the change they’ll refuse at all other costs.
Which is one of the great things about Planetes, it cheerfully celebrates ruthlessness. Terrorism, corporate backstabbing, psychopaths like von Braun and Locke Smith, love and hate, Hachi and Hakim, industrialist and ecoterrorist. Even Hachi’s PTSD and vision at the end about “space as everyone being connected” is reminiscent of Arjuna in the Mahābhārata who gives into despair at the prospect of war and only recovers his resolve because he’s shown the oneness of all things. Then he picks up his weapons and massacres his enemies without remorse. This also comes from the same chapter as the famous “I am become death, destroyer of worlds”-line.
So, the long answer is, the Space Defense Front did nothing wrong, but neither did their enemies.

God the Jojolion readers on /a/ are getting unbearable. I swear they don’t even enjoy the manga anymore and all the wild speculation/toorufags/kaatofags are killing me.
I get your frustration about that. As a platform free of moderation, trolls are very free to invade threads there. The comments expressing their hatred and disappointment regarding JJL also wears me out... like "shut up and get out! Just stop reading it and bitching about it here!" unless it's their first time to express that and also include legitimate criticism of why do they think so.
And about those wild speculations too, yeah... sometimes I don't get why some readers often think too far about every drawings there, as if everything must have a deep meaning.
However, there is a plus point for platforms/threads that are free from moderator's 'grip', that we can be more honest and outspoken in expressing our opinion and challenging other opinions without sugarcoating it for the sake of being respectful (which potentially will lose its true meaning).
In fact, I often find brilliant thoughts and ideas on this platform (4chan) more than on reddit!
I was a redditor and I've been hanging out on JoJo's subreddits for over a year. I've been really eagered about being on r/StardustCrusaders... until the quality of moderation there began to decline.
I'm the kind of person who always being cautious before action so I always make sure to read the rules before posting. I have successfully posted several times by following the rules (regarding tags and so on) until one day my post was rejected.
After communicating with the moderator, the reason s/he gave was fair and reasonable and I could accept it. But when I reposted I no longer care to check the status whether it was accepted or not.
Then when I submitted another post for the second time, somehow it was immediately 'rejected' as if it was done automatically for reason that is very vague either!! Even though I've checked them as best I could (including spoiler tag and the rule for title).
Should I contact the moderator again about this? Well, from then on I was already tired with it. Do I have to beg the moderators every time I want to post something there? No thanks, I'd rather just leave the sub altogether.
You may think that I was being childish, but imagine if... in order to post something there you had to repeatedly ask the moderators to negotiate the approval.
Besides, the quality of subreddit has also declined with the spread of fanart posts which drown out the other posts that might be worth to discuss. Not to mention some potential posts that may have been rejected.
And lately there have also been redditors who have complained about the removal of their comments for no apparent reason.
I'm not saying that 4chan is objectively better than reddit, it's just that right now I feel more comfortable with 4chan... and youtube comment section too because yeah... no moderators there policing your thought.
And to be honest, toorufags/kaatofags/jobinfags are everywhere (not just in /a/), but the best place to fight them is in 4chan at the moment. At least we can be blunt and treat them like a joke there than have to take them seriously in reddit.

imagine the dr surviving cast watching a mystery movie. they would be the WORST
trigger happy havoc
there's kirigiri who figures it out from the set-up (please. its chock full of cliches.) you don't know when byakuya figures it out, but he's just smirking at random close-ups and snorting snidely. (while he has a good idea, he's definitely just waving his dick around to keep up appearances too). makoto is the absolute worst. he's muttering the entire thing through, practically spoiling the entire movie as they go along.
there's asahina she makes for good audience, she's just vibing and gasping dramatically, giving the right reactions at the right moments. she's also practically strangling makoto lmao. there's hagakure, who makes bizarre and random guesses (conspiracy theorist) that happen to be right like.. twice (actual functioning clairvoyant, surprisingly). he also tries to fall asleep, but makoto is so damn loud. makoto and hagakure are a two-man class trial, them disproving and arguing both of their theories. touko's just there because it's teeeeechnically a date with her beloved white knight, but you bet your ass that she can enjoy good storytelling and plot devices. she's basically cinema sins as she mutters "huh. narration. cheap tactic." kirigiri is silently nodding along, and eventually, they're both discussing the cliches and the utter bullshit in it, lmao. touko doesn't quite figure out the mystery, but she's pointing out plot holes as they go.
makoto eavesdrops and uses it as truth bullets in the makeshift class trial. eventually byakuya joins in, by the halfway point, they're all drowning out the movie completely. asahina's just bummed out and wondering how did they think this was a good idea. kirigiri hasn't officially joined, but she's basically dropping hints to makoto as they go along. touko does the same thing to byakuya. hagakure cries out that it's unfair, he doesn't have a sidekick. kirigiri tries to pry out touko's knowledge of cliches, touko cries out that kirigiri's a traitor for betraying her trust by using their earlier discussion, etc etc.
by the end, asahina's just happy that the characters got what they deserve. kirigiri's right, of course, but hagakure predicts an unforeseen plot twist that's just bad writing in the movie, touko is practically ranting how the fuck did that happen, there were so many plot holes for the twist to happen, but he's right nonetheless. makoto gets it wrong, actual investigation skills doesnt work in a movie, he keeps attempting the movie to apply real life logic. and as for byakuya? he's just smirking and laughing all the way through. is he correct? is he just waving his dick around? that's the real mystery.
goodbye despair
(technically they're all surviving, but i'm just counting the awakened ones at the end of the game, because... that's a lot of people lmao.)
(+ nagito and chiaki because we need actual detectives in here, and they're barely detectives as it is.)
let's start this off with— chiaki is asleep. she's down for the count. hajime keeps trying to wake her up but she's out. that leaves nagito and hajime. hajime is just eyeing/glaring at nagito, nagito knows, he's just 💞😄🖐🍿 as for the actual mystery, hajime actually knows how to keep his mouth shut... for the most part. he's muttering out half-formed syllables at random times, or shaking his head. sometimes, nagito asks him to elaborate, and hajime reluctantly does. when nagito isn't doing that, he's watching the movie, going "huh? but..." which makes hajime go crazy. elaborate. what do you mean. but WHAT. sometimes nagito laughs at random times and hajime's practically boring his eyes into nagito's skull, wondering what the fuck he's thinking. chiaki wakes up at random times, points out random things, hajime's shaking her, what does she mean he didn't quite catch it, but she's already gone. hajime obsesses over the slurred syllable that he heard.
and then there's kazuichi, who... isn't quite following? that's the detective dude, right? what do you mean that it's a common trope in movies? that doesn't make sense, he's working for the police, why is he trying to get arrested— and there's akane, who's just cackling at the dead bodies and hollering at the crime scenes as she wolfs down her popcorn. why aren't you freaked out, fuyuhiko asks. you aren't acting like this in the game, fuyuhiko says. of course akane knows how to differentiate fiction from reality. fuyuhiko understands the sentiment, both of them go apeshit at the crime scenes, fuyuhiko wants the detective to lose because he doesn't like the police much, mafia and all. meanwhile, there's sonia, who already watched 70 other movies with practically the exact same plotline, but she's basically freaking out at every turn. she's ooohing and aaaahing at every plot twist and kazuichi is like. oh PLEASE, he already saw that coming. he stretches his arms very unsubtly, sonia primly stands up and moves ten seats away. you're right, miss sonia, this is a better spot. kazuichi says, appearing out of nowhere. sonia moves away. this is a vicious cycle.
she finds her way eventually to hajime, who's five seconds away from an aneurysm. he's trying to pick the brains of two people while trying to figure out the plot of the movie. nagito looks very strangely pleased. sonia is unfazed, randomly saying that "oh, you know x is actually stole x, right? but that's only one facet of the grand plan, which is currently in motion." hajime's about to cry. thank fuck. an actual conversational partner. they calmly swap theories, kazuichi desperately trying to join in the conversation but he really isn't keeping up. fuyuhiko barges in, basically going what the fuck are you all on, are you saying that this movie is gonna have a happy ending? hell no, it doesn't work like that, fuyuhiko should know. this is what would actually happen—
it's an actual class trial now, akane dropping in and all. she asks for clarifications every once in a while, but she doesn't really care. kazuichi is practically kissing her feet. nagito has gone 💞😄🖐🍿🧏🏼‍♂️👀💞 at this point. fuyuhiko is very much concerned. hajime doesn't see jack shit. what does hajime see, you ask? hajime sees that nagito isn't opening his mouth to share his thoughts. hajime asks him properly. nagito answers with his own question. hajime is about to pop a vein. why does he even bother. sonia calmly says that y is dying. chiaki wakes up. red bracelet. passes out again. hajime shakes her shoulders to no avail. hajime hinata is about to cry. kazuichi, out of all people, tries to calm him down. this makes him feel worse.
sonia is practically a clairvoyant as she predicts what's going to happen 5 seconds before it does. nagito goes 💞😄🖐🍿🧏🏼‍♂️👀💞 😄🖐🍿🧏🏼‍♂️👀💞 does nobody else see this, fuyuhiko says. i do, kazuichi says. they are both unable to do anything. for the very first time in a long while, hajime is blindsided in this mystery, and sonia was about to figure it out before he did. his mind is working on 5x speed now. he knows he shouldnt be competitive. its just a movie. he cant help himself. he find a red bracelet on the assistant detective. sonia doesn't say anything about it. hajime is now unlocking 50% of his brain (not literally. no kamukura in this post lmao, im not gonna put my hands in THAT).
final fight scene as the assistant tries to escape. fuyuhiko is on the top of his lungs, pointing out the many different ways he could knock out the detective. akane's joining with him. kazuichi's just joining in the fun at this point. the mystery gets solved. hajime fucking called it. sonia is genuinely caught off-guard, she was too used to movie tropes, but it's a pleasant surprise. fuyuhiko's just pissed that the detective won. "i didn't see that coming :)!" nagito says. what the fuck are you talking about, hajime says, and all traces of victory are gone. nagito says that he isn't a fan of the mystery genre. hajime's eye is twitching. he knows, deep down, nagito is truthful, but also, why does it feel like bullshit. i called it too miss sonia, kazuichi says. everyone knows that he's lying. sonia suddenly lost the ability to hear. chiaki wakes up. summarizes the case. how the fuck do you know that, you were out cold, hajime says. i was spoiled by a redditor, chiaki says as she blinks the sleep out of her eyes. hajime doesn't feel victorious at all. kazuichi, once again, sympathizes. right before hajime can storm off altogether, fuyuhiko joins in the pity pile, and hajime actually finds the hope to live again. what a hopeful sight, nagito says. no hope here, hajime realizes, just despair. akane is sitting beside 5 empty tubs of popcorn. hajime is half-tempted to shove his head in one.
(sidenote: nagito can probably solve the mystery if he tried but he really doesnt care that much + it was fun to rile hajime up lmao)
#cant believe im about to shove another nagito essay in the hashtags#dont worry im gonna put in byakuya too#antag essay really#i havent watched the danganronpa anime yet so i might be wrong#but in dr 1 there are more detectives than dr 2#obvi theres kirigiri but im also talking about the antags#there's byakuya whos nearly as perceptive as kirigiri#and then theres nagito... who happens to be lucky enough to stumble on key facets of the case#dont get me wrong nagito is as smart as byakuya#but byakuya is clever and perceptive while nagito is cunning and resourceful#nagito and byakuyas key difference is#byakuya messed with the after of a crime scene#while nagito conducted his own crime scene even twice#sure nagito knows things from the case that hajime doesnt... but note that hajime tends to overestimate nagito and we're stuck in his head#also note that nagito saw different facets of the case than hajime#like making the crime scene in the first place then seeing mikans true nature in the hospital/seeing the movie then the final dead room#nagito had unfair advantages every time#meanwhile byakuya had the same amount of evidence as makoto excluding case two#byakuya can make use of what he sees while nagito finds ways to find more evidence#that's why i think byakuya would act exactly the same when watching a movie#because its basically just evaluating the evidence presented to you much like class trials#while nagito couldnt find a way to find more evidence or look for a workaround#is he still hella smart? not detective smart like kirigiri or byakuya#danganronpa trigger happy havoc#trigger happy havoc#super danganronpa goodbye despair#trigger happy havoc fic#goodbye despair fic#danganronpa fic#excluding his tendency to play mind games hes about the same level or barely above hajime as a detective

The downtown streets that run east to west are all numbered and previously were called the names of Texas trees. And some still are, depending on which part of the street you're on, as do local businesses near those streets. In numerical order (south or north), major downtown streets include Cesar Chavez/First Street; Second Street (Live Oak); Third Street (Cypress); 진주출장마사지 Fourth Street (Cedar); Fifth Street (Pine); Sixth Street (Pecan); Seventh Street (Bois d' Arc); Eighth Street (Hickory); Ninth Street (Ash); 10th Street (Mulberry); and 11th Street (Mesquite).. In the past few months, almost every newspaper, website, or magazine has published an article titled something like this: "WTF is an NFT?" Short for Non-Fungible Tokens, NFTs have taken the art, music, and social media worlds by storm. NFTs represent unique digital items whose metadata is stored on a blockchain.
RELATED: Stablecoins Explained & How They Can Help Stabilize Cryptocurrencies
These NFTs are used to authenticate a range of digital files, including images, videos, songs, and even Tweets. Instead of physical art, more and more wealthy investors are transferring their funds into cryptocurrency and then putting down large sums of money on NFTs. This raises a vital question Redditors are trying to answer: what's so cool about NFTs?
10 Explaining NFTs To Outsiders Is An Impossible Task
Tumblr media
Is it art? Is it data? Is it both? Why would anyone want to spend money on an NFT? These are the kinds of questions cryptocurrency experts field from outsiders, who find it very difficult to explain the ins and outs of making, authenticating, purchasing, and then storing NFTs.
This is made worse by the fact that blockchains, which store cryptocurrency transactions and NFT metadata, are also mindboggling for novice users. One Ethereum blockchain proponent went as far as developing a more user-friendly app that allows people to collect NFT art and zoom in on the details present in each piece.
9 Whether Or Not Copycats Go After NFT Assets Is Beside The Point
Tumblr media
Another question posed regularly by outsiders about NFTs is, "Why can't people just duplicate someone's digital asset, claim it's their original work, and then resell it?" According to some well-versed NFT Redditors, this kind of question is beside the point.
People can steal or copy a digital file into infinity, but NFTs -- as their name suggests -- are not replaceable or exchangeable. The only copy of an NFT that matters is the one with its own unique hash, or metadata, stored in the blockchain and this one-of-a-kind marker guarantees the original file's authenticity.
8 Artists Have To Promote Their NFTs
Tumblr media
Content creators can't expect to upload a few digital files to an online gallery and get rich quickly. In order for someone's NFTs to become a valuable cryptocurrency asset, they need to properly market themselves.
RELATED: How Apple Pay & Google Pay Users Can Pay In Crypto Using BitPay
There are some fantastic crowdsourcing efforts in place to make sure forgeries are weeded out, such as reverse image searches. Legitimate artists trying to get established should focus on the validity of their NFTs, as investors will be more likely to purchase verified files.
7 This Is Because It All Boils Down To A Name Game
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, just like it goes with other investment communities, famous people are much more likely to sell NFTs than non-famous people. Case in point: Grimes, the performer who just so happens to be Elon Musk's partner, made millions in just a few minutes selling crypto-punk NFTs.
A video of Lebron James making a slam dunk sold for $208,000. This proves that investors are after recognizable pieces from recognizable names that will, in theory, accrue value over time.
6 Which NFTs Are Collected By High Bidders Is Less About Aesthetics And More About Numbers
Tumblr media
That Christie's auction house recently sold an NFT collage made by a digital artist named Beeple for $70 million indicates big spenders are willing to put their wealth toward these speculative ventures. Some Redditors hypothesize these initial investors are far less interested in how a piece looks and much more interested in its monetary worth.
RELATED: PayPal Users In The U.S. Can Now Buy Cryptocurrency: How To Get Started
Since the future of NFTs is to be determined, these investors are picking NFTs they believe will the most financially beneficial over time. Part of that value, they hope, comes with the fact they are purchasing one of the earliest examples of an NFT.
5 NFTs Are Smart Investments
Tumblr media
Whether you're a maker, buyer, or both, some proponents of NFTs think their future is a hopeful one. Since it's such a new concept, and since cryptocurrency isn't widely used yet, NFTs are getting a bad reputation way too early in their development.
One Redditor details why it's important for NFT artists to spend the money authenticating their digital files properly -- a process called minting. If more and more burgeoning creatives utilize these online NFT markets to revolutionize how art is shared and experienced, NFTs will become an even hotter market for investors.
4 Conversely, Maybe They're Just A Fad That Will Die Out Like Cryptokitties
Tumblr media
On the flip side, not everyone on Reddit is convinced NFTs have lasting power. One user even compares them to the Ethereum blockchain game CryptoKitties, which took off rapidly and then fell into obscurity just as quickly a few years ago.
RELATED: Amazon Digital Currency: The Potential Benefits & How It Might Work
Why the dim outlook for NFTs? Apparently, this form of digital art "ownership" is far too convoluted and unsustainable.
3 Most People Won't Get Any Value Out Of NFTs
Tumblr media
Continuing this train of thought, the average internet user, even someone who may dabble a bit in cryptocurrency, has nothing to gain from NFTs. Those who expect to quickly upload a file to digital marketplaces like OpenSea and then become millionaires will be very, very disappointed.
Creating and making NFTs requires attention to detail, time, and knowledge of how crypto communities function. Normal people will likely feel overwhelmed, scared, or downright confused by the prospect of getting started.
2 The Inherent Value Of Digital Art Is Very Different From Physical Art
Tumblr media
Another ongoing debate among Redditers looks at the differences between physical art and digital art. Many collectors and investors gain pleasure not just from acquiring expensive pieces, but from being able to physically interact with them by hanging them up or putting them on display.
NFT investors don't interact with the digital files they procure in the same ways. This may prove to be a major deterrent for the NFT community, one that will require a lot of creative app engineering.
1 The Implications For The Gaming World Could Be Massive
Tumblr media
If NFTs do take off, gamers could see how they play, purchase, and create worlds altered irrevocably. Game developers and players alike could one day use NFT marketplaces to exchange game-ready digital assets like weapons.
Not only will these assets add new creative possibilities to gameplay; their status as NFTs will put them on investors' radars. Regardless of what happens, a lot of people are currently thinking big about NFTs.

Blood-drawing robot is supposedly more accurate than humans
The only thing worse than getting a needle is getting two (or more) when the first jab attempt fails. Now, researchers from Rutgers and Mount Sinai Hospital have developed a robot that can see under your skin and supposedly do the job better than humans. That could one day help reduce problems like infections and thrombosis when attempting to start an IV line, for example.
It's relatively easy to draw blood from a patient with easy-to-access veins, but much harder for patients without visible or palpable veins, and particularly with emaciated patients. In those cases, staff might have to resort to using an ultrasound machine to see veins more clearly.
The blood-sampling robot just skips straight to that step, using built-in ultrasound tech to guide the placement of the needle. The complete system also includes a module to handle samples and a centrifuge-based blood analyzer.
With easy to access veins, the machine can successfully draw blood 97 percent of the time, and had an overall success rate of 87 percent for 31 participants, the researchers said. According to the report, clinicians fail between 27 and 60 percent of the time for patients with difficult-to-access veins, depending on the nature of the problem. As a Redditor pointed out, however, the machine seems to have a lower success rate than medical personnel for difficult-to-access veins, other than for emaciated folks.
The robot is still a prototype and researchers could potentially improve its success rate, though. It could one day be used in ambulances, besides and emergency rooms for procedures like IV catheterization, dialysis and placing arterial lines. "A device like ours could help clinicians get blood samples quickly, safely and reliably, preventing unnecessary complications and pain in patients from multiple needle insertion attempts," said lead author Josh Leipheimer.
