i debated about whether or not i wanted to include akaashi's name, but as the fic was from oikawa's pov and he was incredibly in the dark about who this interloper was and what he was capable of, i liked leaving you guys a little in the dark too.

OK so Astor’s design is interesting to me cuz they had a lot of potential for cool backstory and instead they went with a lame cult. So Astor has a lot of Gerudo styles in his design from AOC so I took that and ran. He was adopted and raised by a Gerudo couple and he spent his first few years in Gerudo town. When he got older, maybe around 5-8, he had to leave since he was a voe and wasn’t the king of the Gerudo. His parents moved out and built a nice place near the town and he was overall happy. But near their home on the borders of Hyrule and Gerudo, there was a Hylian/Sheikah lab where they did all sorts of experiments, and one of them went horribly wrong. Astor’s parents got caught in the accident and they both died along with a lot of scientists. He was around 15 or so? He spent the next few years alone, occasionally being visited by Gerudo women, but overall struggling to recover from losing his moms. The lab got shut down and bordered off after the accident and when Astor was much older, he went to explore the place. There he actually met Terrako who was alone in the lab, but Astor also saw an interesting piece of technology. You know the weird thing Astor holds in his hand? Yeah that thing was created in this lab, it has Sheikah magic and Malice fused together which is super risky since malice is unpredictable and dangerous. Astor grabs this piece and the malice starts to infect him. But he doesn’t die like Hylians normally would. The Sheikah magic keeps him alive. Aaaaand this is where things go really bad. He doesn’t die but the malice is slowly infecting his brain and he’s slowly losing his mind. He blacks out at the lab and is arrested for trespassing, but they keep him locked up due to the malice already taking ahold of him. There in prison he does meet Ganondorf and the bromance is so strong i can’t take it. They bond since they’re both Gerudo but Astor is losing himself to the malice. When Astor is released, he goes back to get the piece of technology and that’s how he gets his powers and yeah. He loses his mind. He stops going out in the sun cuz the malice makes it too painful for him and he’s really not himself.

Like I’ve said this before idk if y’all remember this but Astor’s story makes me SAD. But there is his backstory.

People judge actions based on reactions and Mike is a prime example. He is a very hated character right now but consider this

Season 1: Mike said to El (twice, I believe) "What is wrong with you!" She ran off hurt but returned within a couple episodes. (People often like to parallel him saying this in season 4 to the cliff scene when he didn't but forget the times he did. He didn't get worse or more hypocritical you just picked bad examples). I don't remember him directly apologizing for this, though he did validate that she was not a monster and he did not see her as such and that could be counted for one of these instances.

He is widely forgiven and even forgotten for this.

Season 4: Mike initiates an attempt to understand and console El. When confronted, he cannot say I love you but tries to say everything else he can to make her feel better. She is crying, speaking poorly of herself, and angrily throws letters while confronting him. After many episodes apart (which he spends brainstorming how to fix things and she spends not bringing it up once) he apologizes to her in full, hitting every point and taking full responsibility, at the soonest opportunity.

He is widely antagonized for this.
