Best Long Battery Life Phones 2022, Long Battery Life Phones
Best Long Battery Life Phones 2022, Long Battery Life Phones, Best Battery Life Smartphones, Phones
Tumblr media
Fast charging is becoming faster and more widely available, even on more affordable smartphones. Still, being able to top up a phone in less than an hour, or even as fast as half an hour, can completely change your charging habits, with real battery autonomy a major priority. Remains - No VOOC can help you when there are no electrical outlets around.
So, on this page, you'll find the phones that make battery life a priority and score at the top of our battery test chart.
1. Xiaomi Poco F3 - Best Long Battery Life Phone
Tumblr media
GOOD
114h Endurance rating (23:40h calls, 15:58h web, 19:02h video)
4,520mAh battery, 33W charging
Cheap, yet the flagship-grade phone
120Hz OLED screen, HDR10+
Snapdragon 888 chip
Versatile camera setup
IP53-rated
BAD
No microSD slot, no 3.5mm jack
Mediocre ultrawide camera quality
The most recent Poco F3 replaces our previous top pick for battery life champ - Poco F2 Pro. In terms of battery life, it is one of the most powerful smartphones currently available and the most reliable performer.
The threequel to the legendary Pocophone has everything a flagship on a budget should pack - a stunning HDR10+ OLED screen, 120Hz on it, the most current Snapdragon 888 5G chipset, and plenty of cameras.
The Poco F3 packs a massive 4,520mAh battery which proved to be quite reliable - providing great gaming and/or multimedia experience on a single charge. And then you can top that battery up well enough fast with the supplied 33W charger.
Some phones have scored better, that's for sure, but none of them can match the Poco F3 for its all-around package and battery life, especially considering the powerful Snapdragon 888 chipset.
2. Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro - Best Long Battery Life Phone
Tumblr media
GOOD
118h Endurance rating (28:45h calls, 14:13h web, 17:44h video)
Great 120Hz AMOLED screen, HDR10
Snapdragon 732G chipset is snappy and efficient
Good camera quality overall
Dedicated microSD slot, 3.5mm jack, NFC
IP53-rated, dual Gorilla Glass 5
BAD
No reverse charging
No Night Mode on ultrawide, low-light quality is mediocre
A higher grade chipset would have been more exciting
Next on our list is the Redmi Note 10 Pro. This is a mid-ranger with excellent battery autonomy and fast enough charging. It impresses with a high-grade 120Hz AMOLED screen and 108MP primary camera with enjoyable pictures and videos.
Redmi Note 10 Pro is also very attractive to look at. It has two Gorilla Glass 5 panels and is IP53-rated. It packs all kinds of connectivity options including NFC. The Snapdragon 732G isn't as exciting as some of the faster SoCs within other competitors, but it certainly gets the job done and is good enough for its price.
Redmi Note 10 Pro is available under different names in different markets. You can also get it in India as Redmi Note 10 Pro Max.
3. Realme 8 - Best Long Battery Life Phone
Tumblr media
GOOD
127h Endurance rating (36:10h calls, 17:41h web, 17:12h video)
Bright Super AMOLED HDR10 screen
Solid performance on a budget
3.5mm jack, microSD, NFC, FM radio
30W fast charging
BAD
Over the top design
The camera quality is subpar
No stereo speakers
The Realme 8 impressed us with its long battery life and fast charging. It also packs a very nice Super AMOLED screen and a capable Helio G95 chip, which does well for games. It offers speedy charging, NFC, a 3.5mm jack, a dedicated MicroSD slot, and even FM radio.
Its camera setup can pack four shooters, but the photo quality for main and ultrawide shooters was indifferent. Videos turned out good, however, selfies too.
The Realme 8 isn't the best phone, but it's cheap, it passed our battery life test, and it offers more than enough for its price.
4. Samsung Galaxy A12 - Best Long Battery Life Phone
Tumblr media
GOOD
123h Endurance rating (31:34h calls, 16:18h web, 15:19h video)
Good quad-camera on the cheap
NFC, microSD, 3.5mm jack, FM radio
Cheap
BAD
Low-res screen
Poor processor performance
Sluggish charging
If battery life comes first, the €150 Samsung Galaxy A12 is a very affordable smartphone. It has a large screen with a small notch which is ideal for watching videos. The quad camera at the back is also good.
Does not affect the phone performance; Its screen is just 720p and with washed-out colors. However, the Android 11 OS and One UI are still quite fast.
So, the Galaxy A12 is for those of you who are on a limited budget and prioritize battery life above everything else. If it isn't, we should probably look elsewhere.
5. Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 - Best Long Battery Life Phone
Tumblr media
GOOD
110h Endurance rating (41:21h calls, 13:55h web, 20:13h video)
33W charging
Bright Full HD Super AMOLED screen
Good quad-camera
IP53-rated, microSD, 3.5mm jack, FM radio
Stereo speakers
BAD
No NFC
Not the fastest SoC around
€170 Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 is an attractive budget offer. It has a 6.43" 1080p OLED screen and the curve rests on a decent Snapdragon 678 chipset on the back. The rear camera delivers good regular and ultrawide photos, with videos coming out just fine.
But the reason we included this Redmi Note 10 Lite is its excellent battery life and 33W fast charging. You can watch videos for 20 hours and then talk for some or even 41 hours uninterrupted. The Redmi Note 10 apart from its balanced feature set offers great battery autonomy and we recommend it. Also, its price is quite reasonable.

Best phones under Rs 15,000 to buy in India post lockdown
With lockdown 4.0, e-commerce companies have begun delivering phones across the country except in containment zones. This will fulfill the pent-up demand for phones, which are essential for connectivity, entertainment, commerce, and work. So you can finally replace that faulty, damaged, old handset of yours which you’ve been eagerly waiting to upgrade.
But, while doing so, you might want to consider few things:
It’d prudent to spend less and go with something well under budget. You have plenty of good phones in the sub-15k price ceiling.
Next up, for safety reasons, it’s better to do online shopping than going out in the open and into the crowded offline stores. You might even get some discounts and offers while brands try to sell their piled-up stock and make room for new products. Lately, there have been reports that offline retailers have partnered with cost-effective O2O outlets to push their sales.
Now, taking all these into account, we have cherry-picked the best phones that will be easy on your pocket as well as are available online.
Here’s the:
List of Best Phones Under Rs 15000
1. Samsung Galaxy M21
Galaxy M21 (review) sports a monstrous 6000mAh battery, which is miles ahead of its counterparts. Upfront, you have a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ panel. Unlock the phone using face unlock or the rear fingerprint scanner to interact with Android 10 based OneUI. This is running on top of Exynos 9611 chip, which sports four heavy lifting cores, unlike the two performance cores in chips within its peers.
The rest of this Samsung phone is also finely specced like a 48MP triple camera system, 20MP selfie snapper, up to 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage along with expandable option.
2. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro
Xiaomi continues the Redmi Note legacy with the Note 9 Pro. This phone flaunts a 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD screen. Inside, you get a Snapdragon 720G silicon that’s based on an 8nm process. The internals also includes up to 6gigs of RAM, 128GB of storage (expandable). MIUI 11 based on Android 10 is the software.
Amongst other things, you get a 64MP quartet at the back, a 16MP front shooter, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, a 5020mAh battery, and 30W fast charger.
3. Realme 6
Realme kills in the display front as it brings the coveted 90Hz refresh rate to the sub-15k slab. That’s a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD panel. Unlock using the side-mounted reader or your face to use the Android 10 based Realme UI.
The Realme 6 (review) packs the gaming-centric MediaTek G90T chipset, up to 8GB RAM, 128GB storage (expandable), and a 4300mAh battery. The latter is underpinned by a 30W high-speed charger. You also get a 64MP quad-camera setup by the back and a 16MP sensor on the front.

4. Honor 9X Pro
Honor 9X Pro presents style by way of a pop-up camera, a flashy design, and a full-view face. The incumbent of that mechanical module is a 16MP sensor. Flip to the back, and within the oblong lies a 48MP triple camera setup.
It’s the first phone in the country to feature AppGallery, Huawei Mobile Services, and lots of new EMUI thingies on the software side. This fork of AOSP Android is laid on top of 7nm based Kirin 810. You can pick up to 6GB RAM and 256GB storage (expandable).
5. Vivo U20
Vivo U20 (review) is yet another easy and affordable pick at this price bracket. It has an LCD display which measures 6.53 inches diagonally. The U-shaped cutout houses a 16MP front camera. The rear triple camera arrangement is also led by a 16MP sensor.
Unlocking the device using either face or finger gets you to Android 9 based FunTouch UI. Vivo offers the phone in 64GB storage and 4/6GB RAM combo. A huge 5000mAH battery keeps the phone running.

Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Realme 6: Which Is the Best New Smartphone Under Rs. 15,000?
New Post has been published on https://magzoso.com/tech/redmi-note-9-pro-vs-realme-6-which-is-the-best-new-smartphone-under-rs-15000/
Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Realme 6: Which Is the Best New Smartphone Under Rs. 15,000?
Tumblr media
The budget smartphone scene has gotten to a point where not a week goes by without a new model launching, or at least some teaser or rumour about the next phones on the horizon coming out. Both Xiaomi and Realme have recently churned out multiple phones that have already changed our expectations for this segment, and we’re only in the first quarter of 2020.
Realme was the first to raise the bar for a sub-Rs. 15,000 smartphone with the Realme 6 (Review), which offers premium features such as a hole-punch front camera, a 90Hz refresh rate display, and a powerful processor, at a starting price of just Rs. 12,999. Xiaomi obviously wasn’t going to take this lying down, and unsurprisingly, a few weeks later, we now have the Redmi Note 9 Pro (Review) to take on the Realme 6.
Xiaomi has repositioned the Note 9 Pro as the entry-level Note variant (replacing the Redmi Note 8 for now, essentially). The actual successor to the Redmi Note 8 Pro is the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, which is coming later in the month.
With the Realme 6 and Redmi Note 9 Pro both starting at Rs. 12,999 with the same amounts of RAM and storage, which is the one you should be putting your money on? Let’s have a look.
Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Realme 6 prices and variants
The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage versions of both phones are priced at Rs. 12,999 in India. The next step up gets you 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for each of them, but the Realme 6 is less expensive at Rs. 14,999, compared to Rs. 15,999 for this variant of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. Xiaomi doesn’t have a higher variant after this unless you go for the Realme Note 9 Pro Max, but Realme offers a third version of the 6 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for Rs. 15,999. Realme has a slight edge as its highest variant has 2GB more RAM than Xiaomi’s offering at the same price. Overall, both phones offer very good value.
Tumblr media
The Redmi Note 9 Pro (left) and Realme 6 (right) each have four rear cameras
Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Realme 6 design
Just when the designs of most budget smartphones have begun to blend with one another, the Redmi Note 9 Pro comes in with a distinctive camera layout, which should help it stand out. The camera bump is sizeable but so is the bump on the Realme 6. The Aurora Blue colour looks great, but the shiny back picks up smudges almost instantly. It’s a heavy phone at 209g but it’s slimmer than the Realme 6, measuring 8.8mm. Xiaomi has used Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back of this phone and it even has a P2i nano coating, which should help it survive light splashes of water.
The placement of the power and volume buttons aren’t the most ergonomic though. The power button is a tad too high and the volume buttons are hopelessly out of reach for one-handed use. Xiaomi continues to offer an infrared emitter on the top, so you can use the Redmi Note 9 Pro as a secondary remote for your home appliances. Both phones have a headphone jack, USB Type-C port, and speaker grille at the bottom. Both also have a tray for two Nano-SIMs and a microSD card on the left.
The Realme 6 borrows a familiar design from its existing siblings, which at this point, feels a little stale in comparison to Xiaomi’s offering. It’s thicker but the volume and power buttons are on opposite sides of the body, and are a lot more ergonomic for daily use. Just like the Redmi Note 9 Pro, the Realme 6 has a slightly recessed power button which is also the capacitive fingerprint sensor. However, the back panel uses laminated plastic instead of glass, which is where it loses some points.
Tumblr media
Both phones have side-mounted fingerprint sensors
Despite its slightly heavier body and awkwardly placed buttons, we’d still pick the Redmi Note 9 Pro over the Realme 6 when it comes to design. It looks refreshingly new, a glass back is always good to have, and it’s a bit slimmer, which makes it nicer to hold.
Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Realme 6 performance and gaming
Both smartphones are equipped with powerful octa-core processors. The Redmi Note 9 Pro uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC, while the Realme 6 uses the MediaTek Helio G90T SoC. Both produce similar scores in most of the popular benchmark apps. The Redmi Note 9 Pro scored 279,978 points in AnTuTu; 568 and 1,761 in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests; and 3,665 points in 3DMark’s Slingshot Unlimited. In comparison, the Realme 6 scored 290,210 points in AnTuTu; 467 and 1,688 points in Geekbench; and 3,131 in 3DMark.
In general use, we didn’t face any issues with either smartphone. Multitasking is handled well and both are snappy when navigating through Android with their respective custom UIs on top. The fluid effect when scrolling is missing in the Redmi Note 9 Pro, which the Realme 6 enjoys thanks to the 90Hz refresh rate.
Both phones handled heavy 3D games with ease in our tests. We tried the usual heavy hitters such as PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9: Legends — both of which ran very well, with solid framerates. The Realme 6 did get a little warmer than the Redmi Note 9 Pro after an extended gaming session, but the temperatures of both devices never got out of control.
Both phones also have equally fast fingerprint sensors, and a quick tap on the side is all it takes to wake them without actually having to press their power buttons. Face recognition also works equally well on both phones.
Tumblr media
The Redmi Note 9 Pro has the bigger battery but the Realme 6 can be charged more quickly
Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Realme 6 display and speakers
The Redmi Note 9 Pro has a slightly larger 6.67-inch full-HD+ display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Realme 6 on the other hand, has a 6.5-inch display with the same resolution, but only gets Gorilla Glass 3. Both phones use IPS LCD panels rather than AMOLED, and we found the brightness and colours to be more than adequate, even for outdoor use during the day.
Both also feature hole-punch cutouts, with the Redmi Note 9 Pro having its front camera in the centre, while the Realme 6 has it in the upper left corner. The cutouts are quite large and can be distracting, especially in apps that fill up the full screen.
Coming to sound quality, the speaker in the Realme 6 can get a lot louder than the one in the Redmi Note 9 Pro at full volume. Apart from that, it also sounds a bit richer and more detailed.
Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Realme 6 battery life
The Redmi Note 9 Pro has a much bigger 5,020mAh battery than the 4,300mAh one in the Realme 6. In our tests, we found that both phones would easily last for about a day and half before needing a charge, which is very good. You might be able to get a longer runtime from the Redmi Note 9 Pro, thanks to its higher capacity battery. Surprisingly, in our HD video battery loop test, it was the Realme 6 that outlasted the Redmi Note 9 Pro, running for about 19.5 hours, versus 16 hours.
When it comes to charging, the Realme 6 can be topped up a lot quicker, thanks to support for 30W fast charging and a smaller battery, compared to 18W and a larger battery in the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Realme 6 cameras
Both phones have four rear cameras, but the choices of sensors and lenses are quite different. The Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 48-megapixel Samsung GM2 sensor for its primary camera; an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera; a 5-megapixel macro camera; and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Realme 6 on the other hand has a 64-megapixel primary sensor; an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera; a 2-megapixel macro camera; and a depth camera of unspecified resolution. For selfies, both phones have 16-megapixel front cameras.

Autofocus is quick on both phones, and when shooting landscapes in daylight, we found that the Realme 6 did a better job overall. Details in distant objects were better represented and colours were more natural, compared to the Redmi Note 9 Pro which often sharpened images and boosted colours a bit too much. Looking at the shots taken with both phones’ wide-angle cameras, it’s the Redmi Note 9 Pro that did a better job with details. This was true for macro shots as well. Close-ups were almost evenly matched, although we preferred the slightly richer colours and textures that the Realme 6 produced.

Tumblr media
Wide-angle camera samples (tap to see full-size image)
In low light too, it was the Realme 6 that delivered better details and exposures in the darker regions of photos. Surprisingly, the Realme 6’s wide-angle camera performed slightly better in low light, compared to the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
With selfies, we found that the Realme 6 captured better details and skin tones, although the Redmi Note 9 Pro wasn’t too far behind. Both selfie cameras captured weak details in low light, but we preferred the warmer skin tones of the Realme 6’s photos. With screen flash enabled on both phones, the Redmi Note 9 Pro captured brighter colours, but these were wildly exaggerated. The Realme 6 captured more evenly lit photos with more neutral colours.
Tumblr media
Tap to see full-size image
The Realme 6 and the Redmi Note 9 Pro can both shoot up to 4K resolution video, but without stabilisation. During the day, the Realme 6 captures more realistic-looking footage, compared to the highly boosted colours from the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The latter does manage better quality videos with its the wide-angle camera, though. At 1080p, the Redmi Note 9 Pro has better stabilisation, but again, colours can look heavily exaggerated.
In low light, footage recorded with both phones at 4K is noisy but the Realme 6 captures better colours. At 1080p, footage is still grainy but the Realme 6 manages better exposure and details, compared to the Redmi Note 9 Pro, which captures softer details. As for the wide-angle cameras, it’s the Redmi Note 9 Pro which had slightly better looking results, although both phones only managed to capture very dark video that was barely usable.
Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Realme 6 software and usage experience
Both Xiaomi and Realme offer their own customised versions of Android 10. The Redmi Note 9 Pro runs MIUI 11, which features a lot of gestures and shortcuts that you can enable. It’s also quite customisable with themes, and has other Android staples such as Digital Wellbeing and a system-wide dark mode. This being MIUI, you should expect a lot of spammy notifications from stock apps such Mi Store, Browser, and GetApps. You can disable these in some apps, but not all.
Realme’s new Realme UI is lean and offers a look and feel that’s closer to stock Android, which we appreciate. You get an app drawer and plenty of options for customising the look and feel of the interface. The Realme 6 does have many preinstalled applications, just like the Redmi Note 9 Pro, and most of them can be uninstalled. Thankfully, there isn’t too much annoyance in the form of unsolicited notifications from the stock apps, and those that do get through can be disabled.
Despite the issues with spam in the MIUI, both custom skins are polished and easy to live with. There would be a small learning curve with either one, if you’re coming from a phone running stock Android, but neither is too complicated. Xiaomi has spent years refining the look and feel of MIUI and Realme has taken Oppo’s already fairly polished ColorOS and has added some of its own flair to it.
Tumblr media
MIUI and Realme UI offer plenty of options to customise the look and feel of the phones
Verdict
If we had to pick a winner between the Redmi Note 9 Pro (Review) and the Realme 6 (Review), based on all the tests we’ve done on them, the Realme 6 would be the one. It’s more manageable for everyday use, with more ergonomically placed buttons and quicker charging. It has a slightly more powerful processor, better loudspeaker, and higher refresh-rate display. Its cameras also deliver more consistent performance. Then there’s the Realme UI software, which we prefer over MIUI. Looking at the variants on offer, the top-end version of the Realme 6 gets you 2GB more RAM than the top-end version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, for the same amount of money.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro is a solid offering too, and one-ups the Realme 6 in some areas, most notably its scratch-resistant glass back, more distinctive design, bigger battery, and better wide-angle and macro cameras. However, it’s not the easiest to manage in the hand, MIUI can be annoying with its never-ending spam notifications, and it isn’t as easily available as the Realme 6, since it’s sold only through flash sales as of now.
If you’re looking for the best smartphone currently on sale for under Rs. 15,000, then the Realme 6 is the one to go for. However, do stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for our review of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, coming up soon.

The sub-Rs. 15,000 budget bracket is crowded but we are here to help. We have compiled our top picks for the best phones under Rs. 15,000, and these includes some recent launches from Realme, Vivo,  Xiaomi, and others.
As always, every phone that we are recommending has gone through Gadgets 360’s extensive suite of tests. For the best mobiles under Rs. 15,000, we are only choosing from the phones priced between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 15,0000. For phones priced under Rs. 10,000, read our updated guides on best phones under Rs. 10,000 and best phones under Rs. 7,000.
Best phones under 15,000
Phones under Rs. 15,000 Gadgets 360 rating (out of 10) Price in India (as recommended) Realme 3 Pro 9 Rs. 12,999 Redmi Note 8 Pro 8 Rs. 14,999 Xiaomi Mi A3 8 Rs. 11,999 Realme 5 Pro 8 Rs. 12,999 Vivo Z1 Pro 8 Rs. 12,990 Samsung Galaxy M30s 8 Rs. 12,999 Oppo K1 8 Rs. 13,990 Vivo U20 8 Rs. 10,990
Realme 3 Pro
Realme has released some really good smartphones over the past year, and the Realme 3 Pro was one of them. This mid-range smartphone from Realme has been superseded by the Realme 5 series, but still offers good battery life and performance. In our review, we found the phone to be capable of providing a good experience for day-to-day use. It is able to run heavy games without any hiccups and also handles multi-tasking very well.
The Realme 3 Pro captures good detail in daylight landscape shots, but photos lack some sharpness. Thankfully, you will only notice this when you zoom in all the way. Taking low-light photos is a big tricky with the phone as it tends of reduce the shutter speed considerably.
The Realme 3 Pro ran for 14 hours and 13 minutes in our HD video loop test, which is quite decent. Some people, however, will miss having a USB Type-C port on this smartphone.
Realme offers three storage variant of the Realme 3 Pro in the country – 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB, and 6GB + 128GB. Prices have fallen since this phone launched and you can sometimes find all three variants within this budget when they’re on sale.
Redmi Note 8 Pro
Xiaomi’s successor to the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the Redmi Note 8 Pro (Review) is a great option for anyone looking to buy a phone under Rs. 15,000. This phone offers a good performance without any lag or stutter, and it also provides decent battery life. The 4,500mAh battery on the phone lasted about 14 hours in our HD video loop test.
Imaging is another area where the Redmi Note 8 Pro shines. The photos taken with this phone in the daylight come out sharp and have good detail. Even in low-light situations the phone was able to capture a decent amount of details. Redmi Note 8’s display offers vivid output and is bright enough for use outdoors.
Xiaomi offers three variants of the Redmi Note 8 Pro in India – 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB. Only the base 6GB + 64GB variant is available within this budget, but it’s still one of the best phones under Rs. 15,000.
Xiaomi Mi A3
The Redmi Note 7 Pro isn’t the only Xiaomi smartphone that you can consider when deciding what to buy for under Rs. 15,000. The Mi A3 is also potentially a good option, especially if you aren’t a big fan of MIUI, as it is based on Google’s Android One platform and runs on stock Android.
Xiaomi Mi A3 comes with a premium design and offers good build quality, but the HD+ screen resolution is a potential weakness, even though it’s an AMOLED panel. The Mi A3 doesn’t disappoint on the performance front though, and we didn’t face any lag or shutters.
Like its predecessor, the Mi A3 also offers good battery life, and it ran for 16 hours and 21 minutes in our HD video loop test. The Mi A3’s cameras are also a strong point, but it struggles on the HDR front. The photos we took in daylight had good detail and the phone was able to lock focus quite quickly. Low-light shots also came out good.
Xiaomi offers two variants of the Mi A3 – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. Thanks to price cuts since launch, both fall within our Rs. 15,000 budget.
Realme 5 Pro
A more powerful version of the Realme 5, the Realme 5 Pro finds a spot in this list of best mobile phones under Rs. 15,000. The Realme 5 Pro sports a premium design and feels good in hand. The phone’s general performance didn’t disappoint us in our review and the phone zips through day-to-day tasks without any issues.
The phone’s battery is decent, and it lasted 12 hours and 41 minutes in our HD video loop test. On the camera front, Realme 5 Pro has a 48-megapixel primary shooter that takes sharp photos with good colour balance in daylight. The wide-angle camera is average and should only be used in situations when you really need it.
Realme sells three variants of the Realme 5 Pro in the country – 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB, and 8GB + 128GB. The lower two variants are available in this price segment.
Vivo Z1 Pro
Vivo Z1 Pro was the company’s first online-only smartphone and it turned out to be a great phone to hype the company’s online portfolio. The phone sports an eye-catching glossy design with a gradient finish. In our review, we found the Vivo phone to be packing enough power for everyday tasks and the phone didn’t show any sign of lag or slowdowns, even with heavy games.
The Vivo Z1 Pro’s display is sharp and has great viewing angles. Battery life is another area where the Vivo Z1 Pro shines, and it went on for 18 hours and 32 minutes in our HD video loop test.
The smartphone’s triple rear camera setup takes good photos, and our sample shots impressed us with their colours and detail. Low-light imaging performance was also good. Wide-angle pictures taken with the Vivo Z1 Pro, however, came out much less crisp and were over-processed.
Vivo sells the Z1 Pro in three storage variants – 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB, and 6GB + 128GB – and the lower two are available within this budget.
Samsung Galaxy M30s
Samsung’s Galaxy M-series includes some pretty decent devices, such as the Galaxy M30s. In our review, we found the phone to be packing a good display. The Exynos 9611 SoC is capable of handling everyday tasks with ease.
On the camera front, Samsung Galaxy M30s takes decent shots with average detail but this drops when you switch to the wide-angle camera. Low-light images taken with the smartphone lacked detail and were grainy. The biggest highlight of the smartphone is its 6,000mAh battery that easily lasts for two days of normal usage, making it one of the most interesting phones under Rs. 15,000 in today’s market. It lasted 18 hours and 11 minutes in our HD video loop test.
Samsung Galaxy M30s is offered in 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB variants, however only the 4GB RAM variant is available in this price bracket.
Oppo K1
Oppo K1 was launched earlier this year with a price tag of Rs. 16,990, but thanks to multiple price cuts, it can now be purchased for well under Rs. 15,000, making it a great option for anyone looking to buy a smartphone in this price segment.
In our review, we didn’t have any complaints over the performance of the Oppo K1, and it was able to play heavy games. The phone’s main camera can capture good detail in both close-up and landscape shots, however its low-light performance is average. The in-display fingerprint sensor is another highlight for the phone, as it is one of the few options in this budget to offer this feature.
Oppo K1 lasted for 12 hours and 36 minutes in our HD video loop test. That may not be amazing but it is still decent enough.
The company sells only one configuration of the Oppo K1 in the country, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.
Vivo U20
Vivo decided to get into the online-only game with a few new models in 2019, one of which was the Vivo U20 (Review). This is a relatively powerful offering at a surprisingly low price, and of course the company intends to hit Xiaomi and Realme where it hurts. The Vivo U20 offers a very capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, a 5000mAh battery, three rear cameras, and a 6.53-inch full-HD+ display. It’s a bit bulky and unwieldy. All the features you expect are there, but we would have liked a USB Type-C port rather than the Micro-USB port that Vivo still uses.
An 18W fast charger is included in the box. Vivo’s FunTouch OS is customised heavily and we always say that we wish it wasn’t so confusing for first-time users. All-round performance is good, as expected, and this phone will do well even for gaming. Battery life is also very good, but the cameras were relatively` disappointing.
You can only get this phone with 64GB of storage but there’s a choice between 4GB and 6GB of RAM, and both options are available well within our budget.
Which is the best phone under Rs. 15,000 in India right now? We discussed that on Orbital, our weekly technology podcast, which you can subscribe to via Apple Podcasts or RSS, download the episode, or just hit the play button below.

Top 10: smartphones that charge the fastest (May 2021)
Thanks to ultra-fast charging, some smartphones manage to recover 100% of their autonomy in record time. Here are our top 10 fastest charging devices.
Since the end of 2018, some smartphones have been compatible with a technology called “ultra fast charging”. By using chargers much more powerful than before, manufacturers are trying to drastically reduce the charging time of our smartphones. The most powerful chargers today are those from Oppo (65W), Huawei (66W), and Xiaomi (67W), but brands like Xiaomi and Vivo seem determined to exceed 100W as of this year.
At the 01net.com lab, we measure the recharge time of all the devices we receive. To ensure that our results correspond to reality, we charge a smartphone to 100% when it arrives and then we fully discharge its battery. Once it reaches 0%, we plug it into its original charger and use a little software to measure its remaining battery capacity at regular intervals. You will see in this top 10 that Chinese brands are particularly ahead of this technology and occupy all the places in this ranking.
Important note, this classification only concerns devices still on sale. Some devices like Realme X2 Pro or the Oppo Find X are no longer marketed today and once occupied the top spots.
Is this technology dangerous?
Before presenting our results to you, it seems important to us to discuss the doubts that some may have on the potential dangerousness of such a technology. While it has been shown that batteries age less well when they heat up a lot, it is still too early to determine the impact of ultra-fast charging on the lifespan of our smartphones. Note also that some manufacturers such as Oppo and Realme use two batteries in their devices to reduce the heating temperature during recharging. By dividing the energy received by two, the smartphone retains normal heat and therefore does not suffer from the high power of its charger (it remains at low voltage). Only time will tell if these solutions are really without impact.
10. Realme 7 Pro
Tumblr media
The Realme 7 Pro is a mid-range smartphone with Oppo's 65W ultra-fast charging technology. This device's 4,500mAh battery can recharge in less than 45 minutes. For the rest, it is a good mid-range smartphone.
Charging time:  38 minutes | Battery capacity:  4500 mAh (two batteries) |  Charger power: 65W | 5G compatibility:  no | Manufacturer's price: from € 329 euros |  $ 349.99 USA | ₹ 19,999 india
9. Oppo Reno 4
Tumblr media
Less luxurious than the Reno 4 Pro (its screen is not curved), the Reno 4 is still a very good mid-range smartphone. It has the same ultra-fast charging technology as its big brother, which allows it to recharge in 38 minutes.
Charging time:  38 minutes | Battery capacity:  4020 mAh (two batteries) |  Charger power: 65W | 5G compatibility:  yes | Manufacturer's price:  € 549 euros |    $ 614.72 USA | ₹ 31,990 india
8. Oppo Find X2 Pro
Tumblr media
Besides being a beautiful device (its back is ceramic or vegan leather, your choice), the Oppo Find X2 Pro is an excellent high-end smartphone. Equipped with a 120 Hz screen, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 processor, 512 GB of storage and a triple camera module with periscope zoom, the Oppo Find X2 Pro has little to envy other high-end smartphones. range. Its ultra-powerful 65W charger can fully recharge it in just over 36 minutes.
Charging time:  36 minutes | Battery capacity:  4260 mAh (two batteries) | Charger power:  65W | 5G compatibility:  yes | Manufacturer price: € 1199 euros, around € 750 euros since the release of Find X3 Pro | $ 877.77 USA | ₹ 74,890 india
7. Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra
Tumblr media
The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is a technological gem. Dedicated to those looking for the best in photography (its three sensors break records), this smartphone brings together everything that is best on the market. On the charging side, Xiaomi hits hard with a 67 W charging that works with wire… and wireless, provided you have a suitable charger. The charger supplied in the box allows you to go from 0 to 100% in 37 minutes.
Charging time:  37 minutes | Battery capacity:  5000 mAh (two batteries) | Charger power:  67 W | 5G compatibility:  yes | Manufacturer price: € 1199 euros |  ‎$ 1,099.00  USA | ₹ 59,999 india
6. Realme X50 Pro
Tumblr media
5G compatible, the Realme X50 Pro is one of the most affordable high-end smartphones of the latest generation. For 599 euros, it offers you the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, a quadruple camera module with 64 Mpix main sensor and an ultra-fast 65W recharge identical to that of the Oppo Find X2 Pro. However, Realme's recharging process is more aggressive than Oppo's. This is what allows the smartphone to take the top of our ranking.
Charging time:  35 minutes | Battery capacity:  4200 mAh (two batteries) | Charger power:  65W | 5G compatibility:  yes | Manufacturer price:  € 599 euros | $ 510.34 to $ 715.73  USA | ₹30,999 india
5. Lenovo Legion Phone Duel
Tumblr media
Can we do more unusual than the Legion Phone Duel? In a market where everything looks the same, Lenovo's new gaming smartphone is nothing  “normal” . This device is used horizontally, like a Nintendo Switch (with an illuminated pop-up camera), can connect to a keyboard or mouse for gaming, and has an ultra high capacity 5000 mAh battery . Even more unlikely, Lenovo sells separately a 90 W charger that uses ... two USB-C cables. You must therefore connect your smartphone twice to take advantage of the maximum recharge and recover 100% of autonomy in 33 minutes. In the box, we find a charger of 65 W slower than that of the competition (1h10).
Recharging time:  33 minutes or 1h10 | Battery capacity:  5000 mAh (two batteries) | Charger power:  90W optional, 65W default | 5G compatibility:  yes | Manufacturer's price:  € 999 euros |  ‎$ 569.00  USA | ₹ 39999 India
4. Oppo Find X3 Neo
Tumblr media
The Oppo Find X3 Neo is a 2021 smartphone with a 2020 processor. Marketed as a high-end device, this device uses the Snapdragon 865 in order to lower prices. Compatible with Oppo's SuperVOOC 2.0 charger, it recharges in 33  minutes.
Charging time:  33 minutes | Battery capacity:  4500 mAh (two batteries) | Charger power:  65W | 5G compatibility:  yes | Manufacturer's price:  € 799 euros | ‎ ‎$ 836.99  USA | ₹ 60,700 India
3. Oppo Reno 4 Pro
Tumblr media
Very thin (7.6 millimeters) and lighter than most other smartphones (172 grams), the Oppo Reno 4 Pro is an extremely successful smartphone. Equipped with Qualcomm's mid-range Snapdragon 765G processor, this device has two 2000 mAh batteries to support Oppo's 65 W ultra-fast charging. This allows it to be the smartphone currently on the market that recharges the fastest.
Charging time:  32 minutes | Battery capacity:  4000 mAh (two batteries) | Charger power:  65W | 5G compatibility:  yes | Manufacturer's price:  € 799 euros |  ‎‎‎$ 490.75 to $508.08  USA | ₹ 34990 India
2. OnePlus 9 Pro
Tumblr media
Equipped with an LTPO OLED display with adaptive refresh rate (1-120 Hz), the OnePlus 9 Pro is a very innovative smartphone. In addition to its compatibility with 65 W wired charging, this smartphone is also the first mobile in the world capable of accepting 50 W wireless charging, which allows it to be recharged in 41 minutes thanks to a dedicated base.
Charging time:  32 minutes | Battery capacity:  4500 mAh (two batteries) | Charger power:  65W | 5G compatibility:  yes | Manufacturer price:  from € 719 euros | $ 1,022.9  USA | ₹ 64 999 India
1. OnePlus 9
Tumblr media
Slower than the OnePlus 9 Pro in terms of   wireless charging (15W, 1h26), the OnePlus 9 manages to overtake its big brother by one  minute  in wired charging. According to our laboratory measurements, it only takes 31 minutes to  go  from 0 to 100%. Impressive!
Charging time:  31  minutes | Battery capacity:  4500 mAh (two batteries) | Charger power:  65W | 5G compatibility:  yes | Manufacturer's price:  from € 899  euros | $ 729  USA | ₹ 49,999  India
Battery capacity is also important  In this top 10, we preferred to compare the charging times in absolute terms, which puts devices equipped with a very high capacity battery (the Find X2 Pro and its 4,260 mAh for example) at a disadvantage.  This choice is motivated by the fact that we believe that the people who will buy these devices want above all to know the time required for full recharge rather than the efficiency of the charge (the time necessary to recover the same battery capacity).  Note that, in this case, the Xiaomi Mi 10 which recovers 1000 mAh in 12 minutes would beat the Oppo Find X2 Neo in the standings, which takes longer (12.67 minutes) to charge as much energy.

Phone Under 15000: The Best Mobile Phones You Can Buy Under Rs. 15,000 In India [April 2020 Post-GST Edition]
New Post has been published on https://magzoso.com/tech/phone-under-15000-the-best-mobile-phones-you-can-buy-under-rs-15000-in-india-april-2020-post-gst-edition/
Phone Under 15000: The Best Mobile Phones You Can Buy Under Rs. 15,000 In India [April 2020 Post-GST Edition]
The sub-Rs.15,000 price segment has always been significant in the Indian market. This price point allows manufacturers to offer better hardware to the audience than they could get with entry-level phones. We have seen some impressive smartphones launching in this price range, and we have even seen multiple battles between Redmi, Realme, Nokia, and even Samsung in the past. All of this has resulted in consumers getting very good value for their money.
If you have set a budget of Rs. 15,000 for getting a new smartphone, we have done the research for you. After reviewing multiple smartphones in the sub-Rs. 15,000 segment, here are the models that are a cut above the rest. Check them out.
Best phones under 15,000
Phones under Rs. 15,000 Gadgets 360 rating (out of 10) Price in India (as recommended) Redmi Note 9 Pro 8 Rs. 13,999 Realme 6 8 Rs. 13,999 Realme 5 Pro 8 Rs. 13,999 Vivo Z1 Pro 7 Rs. 13,990 Galaxy M30s 8 Rs. 13,990 Redmi Note 8 7 Rs. 10,999 Vivo U20 7 Rs. 11,990
Redmi Note 9 Pro
The newest kid on the block is also one of the best you can get for under Rs. 15,000. The Redmi Note 9 Pro was launched recently and has a big 6.67-inch display with a fast 90Hz refresh rate. We found the phone to be bulky and heavy at 209g in weight but it is well designed.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 720G SoC and comes in two variants, one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and the other with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The base variant is available for Rs. 13,999 which is a minor bump up from its launch price of Rs. 12,999 due to the GST hike.
Realme 6
The Realme 6 is not exactly the successor to the Realme 5 since the company has positioned it in a higher price range. We found the Realme 6 to be well designed but the side-mounted fingerprint scanner might not appeal to everyone. The device is slightly on the heavier side, tipping the scales at 191g. It has a 90Hz display just like the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
The Realme 6 is powered by the Mediatek Helio G90T which is a powerful gaming processor and is capable of delivering some serious performance. Realme offers three RAM and storage variants: 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage, 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, and 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. We found the camera quality to be good in daylight, producing good amounts of detail. The wide-angle camera offers a wider field of view but the dynamic range isn’t great. Low-light camera output quality dips slightly but Night mode improves this. The base variant is priced at Rs. 13,999 and is the only one that fits within our budget since the GST price hike. You will have to spend more for the other variants.
Realme 5 Pro
The Realme 5 Pro makes it to our list yet again as its price makes it an attractive option. It offers a premium design and is comfortable to hold. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC, it is capable of delivering more than enough performance for day-to-day tasks. Even if you want to play games on this device, it can handle them without breaking into a sweat.
The phone’s 4035mAh battery is capable of delivering a day’s worth of usage before needing to be plugged in. It also comes with a 20W charger in the box which helps fill the battery quickly. Realme offers a quad-camera setup on the Realme 5 Pro, and its 48-megapixel primary camera delivers sharp output. The wide-angle camera offers a wide field of view but at the cost of detail.
There are three variants of the Realme 5 Pro: 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage, 6GB of RAM with 64GB of storage, and 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. You will be able to get the two lower variants for under Rs. 15,000.
Vivo Z1 Pro
Vivo’s first online exclusive smartphone, the Vivo Z1 Pro, has an eye-catching design and a gradient finish at the back. Vivo has opted for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC which is capable of handling daily tasks quite well. We did not notice any stutter or lag with the smartphone when we used it. The Vivo Z1 Pro packs in a 5,000mAh battery and is a little bulky at 201g.
The Vivo Z1 Pro has a hole-punch display which is slowly becoming common in this price range. The panel is sharp and has great viewing angles. The Vivo Z1 Pro has a triple camera setup at the back which takes good photos in daylight with good detail, however shots taken with the wide-angle camera lack detail. Low-light camera performance is also good.
Vivo Z1 Pro is available in three variants: 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage, 6GB of RAM with 64GB of storage, and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. The two lower variants are available in this price range.
Galaxy M30s
Samsung’s Galaxy M-series started off as online exclusive, but a few models are now available offline. One such example is the Galaxy M30s. This phone packs a crisp full-HD+ AMOLED display, a big 6,000mAh battery, and an Exynos 9611 SoC. This processor is powerful and efficient.
Since the Galaxy M30s packs in a big battery, it is capable of delivering fantastic battery life, and it lasted us for two days with regular usage. It also features a triple camera setup at the back with a 48-megapixel primary camera that takes good photos in favourable conditions. Low-light camera performance is acceptable, and this phone does have a Night mode which helps improve the output.
Samsung offers the Galaxy M30s in two variants: 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage, and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. Only the base variant is available in this budget.
Redmi Note 8
The Redmi Note 8 used to be available for under Rs. 10,000 but the GST price hike has caused this smartphone to cross over into a higher price segment. The Redmi Note 8 now starts at Rs. 10,999 and is among the most affordable smartphones in this price bracket. The Redmi Note 8 has a crisp full-HD+ display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. The base variant has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage while the top variant has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Both are available in this price range.
Xiaomi offers a quad-camera setup on the Note 8, with the primary one being a 48-megapixel shooter. It also has a wide-angle camera and a macro shooter. We found the camera performance to be good for the price. Low-light photos were noisy and blotchy, and we did have trouble with autofocus in poor lighting conditions.
Vivo U20
Vivo got into the online game with the Vivo Z1 Pro but soon also launched the Vivo U series to compete against Redmi and Realme. The Vivo U20 is powered by a capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC, packs in a 5,000mAh battery, and has a triple camera setup at the back. The phone is a little bulky because of the battery it packs. It has a Micro-USB port at the bottom, which is a little disappointing since the Type-C standard is now common in this price segment.
Vivo includes an 18W charger in the box which helps reduce charging time. The performance is good for the price, and this smartphone can play games and multitask easily. We found the cameras to be below average. If you are planning on using this as your primary device for taking photos, you may want to consider the other phones in this price range.
There are two variants of the Vivo U20: 4GB of RAM and 6GB of RAM. Storage remains the same at 64GB for both. The base variant is now available at Rs. 11,990 while the top variant is priced at Rs. 12,990.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro was on the previous version of this list but the recent GST price hike has unfortunately disqualified it as the price now starts at Rs. 15,999 for the base variant.
