Okay but I genuinely need to talk about the intersection between Wyll and Karlach's quests because it's driving me insane in the best way possible and nobody I know has hit this point so its all gonna be beneath a cut (coz early, but important and kinda massive spoilers)

The ease at which Wyll can be talked down from hurting/hunting Karlach. The small passive roll he makes to understand she ISNT LYING because she's so panicked and so open. The horror that Mizora lied to/used him. The honest apology he gives her, deferring.

The way he defends her against Mizora and insists that this isn't part of his Pact, right up until Mizora quotes the clause that denotes 'soulless' as a viable reason for him to hunt someone/thing. Even with the threat of punishment, he doesn't let Mizora compromise his morals, and he pays for it. With his body. With his spirit. With his soul.

Mizora gloats (GLOATS!) about how even she can't undo what she's done to him. And yet his Pact remains, she still has power over him. She warns him against defying her again. Then she leaves.

Karlach is horrified and empathetic. Zevlor seems shocked and saddened to see Wyll like this. Wyll openly defies his 'punishment' and says he wouldn't have done a damn thing different, even from the moment he made his Pact with Mizora.

Genuinely, without any kind of weight on the scale, Wyll is the best person in your party. Lawful Good man really out here talked down from vitriol and attempted murder to being PUNISHED for having morals.

And I'm not even that far in.

I'm sure that if you attack Karlach, if you don't take Wyll and choose her, if you side one way or the other, then its different. But I didn't because I like Wyll and I wanted to know why the fuck he had beef with the beef wife (who I was GENUINELY STOKED to finally have on my team after years of seeing her as a small bit character on the Risen Road) so ofc I would go poking around.

I can't wait to see how this pans out. I know we can finally get Cazador and we can find the crèche La'ezel is looking for and we can fix Karlach's infernal engine, but I want to free Wyll from Mizora because he's done good things and I want him to have the option to do more without her holding a stick the whole time, their Pact written contractual.

Finished the main questline of Skyrim for the first time, so in a way, first time 'beating' Skyrim

Was very intimidated to play at first since I played it so late and knew nothing about it, but really loved it. Loved the Dawngaurd questline the most by far, but Dragonborn's boss fight is a close second. Will put it down for now and play some other games, but left a lot of quests open to play for the first time in the future.

Also Bran I love you and am so so sorry for killing you on accident so many times and having to load a quick save, please forgive me you are best dog

junghwan is the best character in Reply 1988

I’ve seen some people say he’s dull and boring, and i wonder if we actually saw the same show or not because it’s clear to me that he’s the one person who cares the most about all the people he loves. When his dad feels under-appreciated, he goes out of his way to reciprocate his silliness and make him happy. He studies hard for his mother, not to mention, plans a wedding for her when he finds out his parents never had a wedding. Even though everyone else refer to his brother as a no-good dumb grown man, inferior to junghwan in every way, he never thinks of his brother like that and instead, always wants to make him happy- to the point that all the dreams he had for what he wants to be when he grows up are what his brother wishes he could be but cannot because of his illness. He’s the one who immediately hit the bullies when they said “are you bragging that you don’t have a dad?” to sunwoo, when he’d silently followed all their orders before. He’s the only one who puts up with dong-ryong’s constant chatter and adventures without ever stopping him. I don’t even need to get into all the things he does for doeksun. My boy junghwan, the “i waited for an hour every morning to go to school with you. at night i couldn't sleep at all worrying about you until you got home. i thought of nothing but you. just you. when i ran into you on the bus, when we went to the concert together, when you gifted me a shirt for my birthday... i was so happy that i thought i was going crazy. i wanted to see you more than a dozen times a day. i was happy just to see you.” junghwan. But most of all, he truly loved and cared about Taek, sacrificing and burying his own feelings for Taek’s, going out of his way to avoid doeksun because he could never hurt taek like that. Junghwan is a character who loved deeply and with his entire heart. He’s quiet, considerate and sure, grumbling. But the grumbling definitely comes from his mother. He’s grown up seeing his mother express her love for his father through annoyed yelling, grumbling, and scolding. That’s the only way he knows how to show that he cares and loves.

IN CONCLUSION, nobody better come for my boy and say he didn’t deserve Doeksun or whatever and that he was boring. He deserved the entire world and was the best of all the characters in the show. Thank you for coming to my tedtalk.

Jokes aside, Lars was one of my favorites the first time around. He's pretty chill in that "dude you'd totally talk about the coffee place you found that one time" kind of way. But I'm digging the shift. I wonder how the rest is gonna go. Unless there's a scene where Ace and I are fighting delinquents in an alleyway like it's an 80s anime, I think I've got my current fave.
