You know, thinking about it some more, by "Derision"'s own premise - Marinette should have absolutely hated (or at least distrusted) Adrien day one regardless of the Umbrella apology, because him being friends with Chloe would have been the major issue/deal breaker. The moment she hears he's Chloe's childhood friend, she would have been doing utmost to avoid him at every turn despite him being so nice to her (After all, Kim was nice to her too, and look what happened there) because all the apparent deepseated trauma Chloe's prank left her.

Also, by extension, the class would have distrusted him too (and Kim maybe)? This is a dude that's apparently besties with the girl who's been harassing them for years and made their beloved favorite classmate go through a super traumatizing event the year before. A good majority of Adrien's first few months at Francois Dupount should have been the miraclass all avoiding him and playing interference whenever he tried to interact with Marinette, with the only minor exceptions being Nino (Who is the goodest of boys and also wasn't in the same class as Mari and Co when it happened but really should know regardless considering Chloe videotaped it and put it online?), Alya (Who just transferred in and likely wouldn't know what's happening either), and Chloe+Sabrina (The former of whom is more than happy that the losers are keeping away from her precious Adrichou! More of him for her then!). (And maybe also Kim? He probably sees it as Adrien going through what he did after the prank and deciding to buddy up/help him out since "nobody here knows how to take a joke")

Meanwhile, Adrien would feel so confused and isolated because his class all just hates him for some reason and he has no clue what he might of did to make them all mad at him? And it just makes school feel like home except 100 times worst because at least he (thinks he) knows why his dad often ignores and avoids him. And speaking of, he can't go to him about the problem because he'll just use the class's actions as an excuse to lock him back up in the manor for homeschool because it just "proves" he was completely right about Adrien not being safe at public school, and Chloe's no good either because her "help" (i.e Calling daddy or the principal to take away a class privilege or get a trip/activity cancelled those mean losers made her precious Adrien sad - so fix it or else!) ends up just worsening the divide, so he's basically on his own except for Plagg (who sadly can't really intervene in a way that would actually solve the issue). It also ends up funneling into making his crush on Ladybug 220% more codependent because it's literally one of the very few relationships he has where he isn't being treated like a leaper, idol, or a nuisance...except it turns out she also hates Adrien - but that's fine, because Chat Noir hates Adrien too! Dude's just the worst, don't you think my lady? So everything fine because they can hate Adrien together and bond through that (self hatred and poor coping mechanisms go brrr~)!

Basically the first 2 and a half seasons should have played out like an "Enemies!AU" where Marinette and most of the Miraclass is convinced Adrien is Chloe's new vice chief bully and act accordingly as Adrien desperately tries (and fails) to make friends and figure out why everyone dislikes him so much, while the Ladynoir side has the two bonding over how much they hate that lame blonde modeling twink from the magazines.

...Ah crap, now I want to make an AU.

me after taking a fat minute to finish this oh GOD

anyways here’s a thing for my miraculous ladybug x DC au which i’ve been lovingly calling my miracuous ladybug batfam Au-essentially I made the miraculous kids American, mari’s parents are dead, and all of her besties make up her very own rogues gallery-so here’s the first person to join her rogues: Chloe Bourgeois aka Queen Bee!! In this AU, Chloe was left in a fatal accident which essentially left her stung my a bunch of genetically modified wasps. While she now has the ability to control them and has immunity to their stings, she was left paralyzed from the waist down (she had to regain feeling in the rest of her body. Could she regain feeling in her legs? Yeah probably. Are her doctors gonna let her? No probably not.) Besides being paralyzed, the stings also left her with yellow blotches on her skin. For funsies her hair is still blonde but she dyes it black. uhm tbh her fit is like a first draft (along with her whole story omg) all ik is that i wanted her to have wings cause wasps have those too

Miraculous Movie Thoughts

So, I think it's been a hot enough minute and the dust has settled that I'm ready to share my thoughts.

Minor spoilers ahead with minimal salt:

Overall, I thought the movie was good. I did call it a masterpiece and I do stand by it in terms of characters (which I'll get to). Nonetheless, the story was decent, pacing felt fine, and I actually felt something. So, kudos, Zag (not you Austruc)

Now, the part of the movie I really loved, the characters.

I loved Nino and Alya. They are amazing besties. And I loved that Nino was a skater too. Really showing his inner turtle.

I genuinely enjoyed Marinette more in this. To me, she felt so real. This could be some mild projecting as I was that freaky outcast girl in high school, but I felt that level of insecurity from her. Seeing her genuine growth into a confident young lady was just so refreshing with the cherry on top being when she told Chloe off, not taking any of her shit. Like, fuck, 👌

Which brings me to Chloe. I honestly liked this version of her. Yeah she's a bitch and a bully, but it has a different feel than the Chloe in show. I haven't placed it yet, but it was nice seeing.

Adrien was a bitch ass white boy and I loved it. Maybe I spend too much time around the same kind of crowd who think they're all that, that they are the funniest, coolest people when they are just a little too sure of themselves, but I loved it. And I did enjoy seeing the discourse with his father and him mourning his mother.

Which, speaking of the father, this was the Gabriel I wanted all along. I honestly loved his character and actually fucking felt his break down when he saw that chat was Adrien. his song was fun and just so energetic. I loved that he didn't pull his punches and fucking cared about Adrien. Also, he had the best line in the whole fucking movie:

I will set the world on fire and lose myself to the flames

Like, hell yeah bitch. That's the type of villain I just love.

We needed more of Nathalie. You can't just tease me like you did with the ending and the few bits of her that we got. If I don't see Mayura in the next movie in all her glory, then the disappointment will be strong.

Plagg was Plagg. He seemed like a cat to me. I know y'all didn't like the fart jokes but I couldn't care less about them. Tikki was slightly unhinged and I loved it.

The biggest gripe I have is the songs. Not to say that Mari's song VA was bad, but it was such a jarring transition each time to it and the voice did not match at all. It made it impossible for me to watch the songs because of it. I did suffer through the love duet, but I didn't like the decision to give her a different singing VA.

Otherwise, it was a solid experience. hawkmoth being unhinged, but sympathetic and giving a damn about his son. Marinette and Adrien feeling real to me (and I say real in the sense of how I approach characters with grounded realistic perspectives). Supporting cast and villains were cool and story was simple. Overall, a really good time.

I know you think there are many things about "fanon" Zoe that you think are generally more interesting than canon Zoe, including her more wholesome relationship with Chloe. But then again, in fanon, even Andre's relationship with Chloe is more wholesome than the canon established in Seasons 4 and 5. So just out of curiosity, is there anything, or even just one thing, about Canon Zoe that you find more compelling than so called "fanon" Zoe?

I mean, I suppose it depends on who's fanon?

I write her as Pan, and comfortable with it (but not immune to absolute brain melting crushes) so that takes care of the Sapphics thing.

I've written her as a resourceful and motivated wielder of the Bee miraculous, and someone who thinks independently as well. That takes care of the hero aspect.

I've written her as a fierce defender of her family, but also willing to cross her family.

I've written her as one of Mari's besties.

What *is* there for canon to have that fanon doesn't?

Now not all fanon is better than canon, there's a lot of fanon out there. I think though that fanon has treated her a lot better than canon did. Except for the saltfics of course. I don't like salt fics of any kind though so 🤷‍♀️

Zoé just deserves better than to be juggled between being the anti-Chloé and being another tool for the love square.

Seriously, her confession to Marinette only existed to give Marinette the confidence to confess to Adrien. The pool girl has *nothing* that is her own.

So thinking about any future characters you’d write for and work you have/haven't seen, what about Ezra? I was sincerely pleased by how much I liked Prospect. I don’t usually go for scifi but the lower budget look of the thing really appealed to me. I don’t even know if it was intentional, but I loved how all the ships/equipment looked kinda normal? Like mechanical in a way we’d understand and not just scifi deus ex machina. Plus Ezra is cute af. And I love Sophie Thatcher. I haven’t seen The Bubble, Kingsmen, or The Great Wall. I think they might put me off a bit but I love his clips.

Also, I would love to know your names for Doc & Bambi (and NIT if she has one). Reader inserts don’t really work on me so I actually like a look/name 😃

Hi Bestie!!!

I am, indeed, back!

My vacation was LOVELY. I got to see some of my oldest friends, experienced some very cool art installations, went wine tasting, ate great food. I just got to love on some of my favorite people and it was the best! I just wrote almost nothing at all. Like fuck all. Like 2,000 words. That's it. I'm lame.

I really want to write for Ezra! I just haven't had something come out and grab me yet as a story idea or a character thought, either? But I do fully intend to write for him. I'm a sucker for sci-fi. It's one of my first loves and exploring worlds outside our own is so much fun. That's probably why my first fic was Mando, the Star Wars universe has had me in a chokehold for like 27 years! Prospect is definitely on the list. I just need to think a bit harder!

As far as character names go, they're below the cut! Please know these might be true for me but I don't consider them canon. Their names are whatever you want them to be! But yeah, I know just about everything about my characters lol most of it doesn't end up in the story but I like knowing it, the names are just a part of that :)

Names :D Here are the character names and why they're called what they're called!

Doc - Rachel Elizabeth Evans. Rachel is also her grandmother's first name and Elizabeth is a family middle name. Evans is her mom's last name. Joel and Tommy frequently called her Rach before they really fell into the whole Kid thing but Joel tried to use her real, full first name around Sarah to make sure Sarah was respectful and used the name Rachel.

Bambi - Ophelia Marie Brooks. Bambi's mom DESPERATELY wanted a hyper feminine and refined sounding name for her only daughter, something that she felt would make her sound like a true southern belle. Of course, Bambi had other ideas. So yeah, she was getting announced at rodeos as Ophelia Brooks before getting yeeted off a horse lmfao Weirdly, Bambi was pretty cool with her name. She liked that it wasn't the same as anyone else's she was in school with because she didn't feel much connection to any of those people. It gave her some room to find her own identity because she didn't know another Ophelia. Richie called her Lili when he was little and couldn't say Ophelia and her pet name as a girl was Ladybug when she was really small (and forever for her mother) and that just became Bug when it became clear that there wasn't much ladylike about Bambi.

Beautiful - Chloe Renee Myers. Not too much of a story behind this name! Renee is a family middle name and Chloe was just the name that her mom liked when she was a teenager and pregnant. Myers is her dad's last name, something Beautiful is not thrilled about. She is very much looking forward to taking the name Miller! She's also kind of happy that she's going to keep the same initials because she bought herself a monogrammed necklace as a treat your self thing when she finished college and she's like "oh sweet, that's still going to be accurate!"

If you read the names, I'm dying to know if you think they fit the characters or think they're way off base or if you had something else in mind.

Looking back I still find it funny how when Gang of Secret was airing at the time,Alya Stans calls people who criticize Alya or say that she's a bad friend as clowns,but here we are in Season 5 and Alya is worst (and more dumb) than ever and Stans keep making stupid excuses for her and I seriously saw somebody say that Marinette is the problem in their friendship with how controlling she is towards Alya,and don't even get me started on the "If you criticize Alya that means you're racist" logic,imma say it any girls in Mari's class (except Lila and Chloe because hell no) are better best friends than Alya

I remember that too and I honestly didn‘t understand how Alya becoming Marinette‘s first confidant disproved any salty claims against her. It didn‘t change the fact that Alya‘s main role in the show was to pressure Marinette into confessing her feelings to Adrien and sometimes other things. Alya makes a lot of decisions for Marinette, so the take that Marinette is the controlling one is bs (I assume this refers to her as Ladybug giving orders bur like, she‘s the permanent hero and therefore authority in this case? And it‘s not like she just blindly ordered Alya around without ever considering her ideas and opinions)

Alya is the best friend because by the show‘s standard, she „guides“ Marinette into the right direction which is the love square. For example in the NY special, Marinette decided she didn‘t want to confess to Adrien, which goes against the show‘s ultimate goal of „canon Love square“, so Alya „fixes“ this by pushing Marinette into romantic situations with Adrien in order to get her to „be honest with her feelings“ (which really makes no sense because Marinette isn‘t lying to herself, she has a goal of being normal friends with Adrien without the romantic attraction). By real life standards, Alya would not be a good friend.

Basically, Alya‘s entire role is being Marinette‘s helper and guidance to her end goal and I‘ve already talked about this, but if anything‘s racist here, it‘s Alya‘s writing reducing her to a tool to push the love square together (black best friend trope where the black bff only exists to help out the white bff, or in this case half white/white passing). That‘s her number one reason to exist. Outside if that, she has little to no arc of her own (expect for love problems with Nino here and there but that‘s more background), and that‘s why I honestly was excited when she became a confidant. (After being a little mad that Luka didn‘t get the same treatment but that‘s another can of worms) I thought this would give her more to do as a superhero and give her more purpose than „mindless shipper“. Boy was I disappointed, she‘s still nothing more but an „Adrienette shipper“

I‘m not gonna deny that some Alya salters are probably racist (especially people who write Alya salt fics with Chloe becoming Mari‘s new bestie instead of redeeming Alya? Yeah sorry but that‘s sus), but salting on characters of color doesn‘t automatically make someone racist.

spoilers for season 4 and 5 of miraculous!!

i wanna strangle the writers of miraculous. they have NO IDEA what they are doing. they are adding useless characters (zoe, socqueline), giving USELESS PEOPLE MIRACULOUSES, *COUGH* ZOE *COUGH*, the disposal of chloes character arc, and a weird ass team up between chloe and lila!!

don't even get me started on the love dodecahedron between mary sue marinette, depresso espresso adrien, *holds a rose in his mouth* cHat NoIr, blushing ladybug, blue guitarist luka, *swing slash* kagami, banana zoe, and 20 other characters.

the former *hot single dad whos rich and could just mourn and move on to nathalie gabriel* turned into *fucking obsessed with 15 year old kids and the jewelry they wear turned terrorist all because i can't get over my basic wife named EMILIE gAbrIeL*

this whole team of superheroes and none of the characters being relevant or stand alone unless you're besties with mari or ladybug. like I GET IT shes the main character, but shes suffering from main character syndrome for real.

the 35 filler episodes, the non existent character arcs, tge random betrayal by felix, the adults in the show being useless, the side characters being useless, the MIRACULOUSES being useless....f miraculous ladybug i used to love that show but the writers are doing NOTHING with it

(disney plus only has up to season 5 ep 9 so idk what happens after that yet)

but this whole shit show is annoying.....imma rewrite it🐞

Broken Hope

(so Hawkmoth and Mayura were defeated, Marinette had lost her hope in finding people who would love her for her, Chat Noir had tried to force her to be his girlfriend in civilian form since ladybug(Mari) had said no to dating him, he had killed her parents, and tried to make her "his", he attacked her that night and left a couple of scars only an her arms, when she leaves the house she either wears long gloves or long sleeved shirts to cover them, Lila had also taken all her friends away and Adrien still try's but never works now he just watch's from the side lines and says either "You should have taken the high road" or "just apologize to Lila and ill date you" what happens when a certain boy comes to the school? let's find out! Oh and Adrians miraculous was taken away)

Damian's P.O.V

I'm currently walking to my temporary school so I can learn more about the "hero's" here, but really father just wants me to socialize with more people since Jons not enough, when I reached the school I saw a group of kids beating up a bluenette girl I don't know why but i went over and thew the largest guy away from her, I saw another girl

who had blonde hair being held back by another taller male i punched the guy making him drop her as soon as he did she went over to the bluenette girl.

"Mari!" the blonde said while checking her over, i walked over to see what was going on. "what was that about?" a girl with glasses walks up and said "there bullies who cant seem to leave my bestie alone" she glares at the girls "I was asking them not you, and it looks like you all are the bullies not them" the glasses girl stormed of followed by a girl with sausage hair and a boy with blond hair, i look to the girls to see them both surprised "what?" the bluenette spoke and said "sorry...it's just your the first person to help us with them..." I was shocked 'where are the teachers during this' "what do you mean?" the blond started explaining "well the girl with sausage hair is a very good liar who turned everyone against us, she hated Mari since she could point out her lies, she claims she has many famous connections when she really doesn't and what's sad is Mari has all of the people she has connections to everyone she's lied about so far, there all mindless sheep, or they share one brain cell" I thought I had gotten away from harlets and there's some here "what about the teachers?" the bluenette said "they either turn a blind eye, don't care, or believe Lila's every word" "huh" "oh yah, I'm Marinette but some people call me Mari, and this is Chloe I call her bee" "Damian, Damian drake" Chloe said "nice to meet someone with a brain here" "same here" I said and stood up and helped the girls up and we head to class

Time Skip

Marinettes P.O.V

it's been a good day so far, other than the bullying even Tho Damian helps us, I went and transformed for patrol and started to run across the rooftops till I felt like I was being watched i stayed there for a few minutes and said "you can come out I wont do anything to you" just then a boy walks out with a traffic light suit and a cape that's black on the outside and yellow on the inside, once I saw this I automatically knew who it was "nice to see you robin, but why are you here?" he walked up to me "we wanted to know what was happening here" I put a straight face on "I called three time, green lantern answered and said to 'not pull pranks' on the justice league" I saw he was irritated "we never got word of this what had happened?" I sigh and explained the story "would you be ok with a video call with batman?" "sure, and I'm guessing you know who I am by the looks of it" he looked a bit guilty of that and said "yeah" "then why don't we go to my place to talk" "yah, sounds good" "then lets go"

Time Skip

were sitting on the couch after getting changed "so what happened to that cat hero?" I paused, I didn't think that he would be brought up, but I knew I'd have to tell him sooner or later, i sighed and started talking "his name was Chat Noir, he was my partner but he had a crush on me in my hero form not me in my civilian form after a while of saying no to dating him he came to me in my civilian form and tried to force me to be his girlfriend, when I said no he attacked me and left some scars on my arm" when I said this I rolled up my sleeves to show the scars and he looked pissed "I took his miraculous from him that day, now he either tries to force me in his civilian form or watches me get bullied" "who is he?" he said in a cold dark tone that made me flinch "he is a rich kid in the school aka Agreste" after I said that his phone went off, and he answered it "TT" "I'm with one of the hero's of Paris" "TT, Fine" he puts the call on speaker "Hello?" "um hi, who's talking?" I asked "hello, I am batman" "well, I'm ladybug one of Paris's hero's" "well good to know, may I know what's happened?" after explaining "I see, ill have a word with Green lantern" Damian walked up to the phone and spoke "father, we cave a liar here that clamed to know us in and out of the suit also said she's dating me, she's also bullying ladybug and a friend of hers" "What!?" "yah, do you think we could expose her?" "...ill see what I can do" I'm just in shock that this is happening, after twenty minutes Bruce started talking again "I can throw a gala in Pari's on....Saturday?" "that sounds good" I chimed in "we can invite everyone she's lied about, if that's ok?" Damian smirked at the idea and Bruce talked again "that would be good Marinette" I smiled a little at that and herd Damian say "someone's happy" I blushed a tad bit when he said that "well, I need to go, use protection if you two do the thing" then the call ended, after that both me and Damian were as red as roses.

Time Skip to the morning

Damian's P.O.V

I woke up realizing I wasn't in the apartment, then I remembered what happened yesterday, I tried to get up but I was pushed back down, when I looked to see what was on me I saw blackish blue hair on my chest and figured out it was Marinette, I started to blush a little then smirked, i had to wake her up so we could head to that hell hole that's a school, I gently pushed her and said "Angel, we need to get ready" "mmm" I watch her yawn and rub her eyes, she looks up and sees me as soon as she does she turns as red as a tomato and gets up, after that we go and get dressed(she has clothes for boys since Luka hung out with her once and awhile) we head to class, we sat in the back when angel got a text she looked at her phone and sighed "what's wrong?" "Chloe got sick and cant come so its just the two of us today" "mm, alright"

Time skip to lunch

I walked to the cafeteria with Angel to grab food, she needed to use the restroom so I found us a table after 10 minutes and Angel hadn't come back I started to grow worried, then I saw Rossi come in with her fake crocodile tears I got up and started looking for her, when I heard sobbing from the girls bathroom,' I hate what I did but it needed to be done' I walked into the restroom and saw Angel crying in a corner so I kneeled down and pulled her into a hug and said "its ok Angel, remember where exposing that liar tomorrow" she started calming down till she stopped crying, I pulled away and said "hey Angel will you meet me at the Eifel tower after school?" she nodded her head and we got up to head to class.

Time Skip to after school

Marinette's P.O.V

after school was out I started to make my way to the Eifel tower, when I got there I saw Damian so I walked to him, once I was there he put his hands over my eye's "Damian, where are we going?" "its a surprise Angel" we walked for a few more minutes, we stopped and he told me to keep my eyes closed so I did, after a couple of minutes he said "Angel, you can open your eye's now" I opened my eye's to see a beautiful clearing with flowers and trees surrounding us, in the middle there's a small picknick setup, and Infront of me Damian was there holding a mixture of lotus's, Carnations, Hibiscus, and roses, while in the other hand had a stuffed bear "A-Marinette, will you be my girlfriend and be my date for the gala?" I was shocked at first and then blushed "Yes!" i jumped on him and hugged him, he then brought my chin up with a smirk on his face and kissed me on the lips, i kissed back we kissed for about ten minutes then we broke the kiss and went to the picnic setup, when we left it was starting to get dark so we left and headed to Damians house when we reached it he opened the door and we walked in we saw a guy on the couch with a cup of coffee and in guessing he's video calling with somebody, "Sup, Demon spa-Holy Shit!" the person yells "What!?" the person on the phone said "Demon spawn brought a girl over!" "What!, really!?" "TT, get everyone on the call and ill explain" i hear Damian say and i freeze, i think he notices since he grabbed my hand and squeezes it the guy with the coffee asks "hay Demon spawn, who is she?" he sighed "Tim, a-Marinette, Marinette, Tim" i looked up at him and said "hi!" I said with a smile and Tim smiled back at me and said "hello, to you to pixie pop!" "why did you call me pixie pop?" he smiled at me and said "because you small and cute" I blushed from embarrassment then the person on the phone said "Hay coffee addict, Demon spawn, everyone's on!"(I don't want to do all the introductions so after that)"guy's, Marinette's my girlfriend" "Your Dating" the girls yelled "New Sister" "TT" Bruce asked "Marinette how would you like to be adopted?" Selina chimed in and said "No, Bruce, Damian's already dating her, and plus she has her own family" at that I look down a little and I'm guessing Tim and Damian saw, Damian pulled me into a hug while saying "her parents were killed by her former partner Chat Noir, he wanted to force her to be his girlfriend, when she said no he attacked her and left some scars on her arms" at that I started to tear up, while Tim and his family had wide eye's and some felt bad, Bruce sighed and asked "would it be ok if I had a family friend adopt you?" I just nodded my head "alright, go get rest tomorrows the gala and the exposion of that liar" i nod as Damian picked me up and we went to bed.

I felt bad for pixie pop, after she left i pulled up her info on my extra computer while the fam was still on call "your looking up her info aren't you Tim" big B ask's, I just nod in response, when I pull up Pixie Pops info my eye's go wide, "what's wrong kitten?" we got out of the limo, I was with Damian and Chloe's with Tim, the Waynes are already in the gala, as soon as Bruce see's me he goes up to the stage and starts talking "hello everyone, we are happy you all could make it" you could hear cheers in the crowed "thank you, we had brought a gala here for a series and specific reason" everyone quieted down, then I realized that my class is glaring at me "this gala was held, because a girl was lying about knowing everyone in this room, and is also bullying my sons girlfriend, along with the class" everyone gasped and started to whisper, when I looked at Lila she was pale "yes, I have a video of what the class has done, and something extra, along with the liar" a projector played the video's of the bullying, Lilas threats and lies, and Chat Noir and/or Adrien the night he killed my parents, after this everyone was staring or glaring at the pale class, and they were kicked out.

after the gala I was adopted by wonder women/Dianna, I met the Kents and the Waynes in person, now there all overprotective with me, Jon said I'm his Honorary sister, Tim and Chloe are dating now, Damian and I are still going strong and really well and yah.

Marinette picked an embroidery style for Damian’s suit.

From now on, everything I make him will have a gold thread in it , she decided.

She made him a matching Phantom-of-the-Opera style mask for when he went out as MDC’s date, or Fairy’s…once she told him she was Fairy, or he figured it out.

She admitted to being curious about a professional vigilante detective’s scrutiny of her alter-ego(s).

Her fans, ‘Wings' as they called themselves, could be a little crazy…just like the press. She didn’t want to throw him out there.

She couldn’t sleep that night and wrote two new songs. Maybe they’d debut at Christmas? Fairy was giving a concert for charity in partnership with the Thomas and Martha Wayne Foundation then…. which could work, get more sales and increase the appeal.

At two a.m., she called Penny and Chloe to discuss the topic and listen to her demos.

After Penny ended the call, Marinette portalled Chloe to her home.

“I met my soulmate again, Chlo! His name is Damian Wayne, and he’s…perfect, so far.”

“Um, do you have a picture of him, Maribug?”

“I got one of him for reference, in the suit I’m making him, so I know where to put the embroidery. Does this work?” Mari handed over her phone to her bestie/manager.

“His brother is Tim Drake?”

“Yeah, he ordered Damian a jacket last Christmas.”

“Mhm. Of course, your soulmate is a Wayne.”

Marinette flopped against the back of the sofa. “I knowww. I was hoping there were two people named Damian Wayne in Gotham, but then he told me his brother was Tim Drake as he was leaving and then he just left me with the fact that my soulmate is American Royalty!”

“Hey, Demon Spawn, we’re going to a concert on the 21st,” Jason informed Damian.

"But it’s Fairy performing! You know you like her music, and she’s singing two new songs for the first time, too,” Dick wheedled.

Marinette had told Damian she was Fairy when she presented him with the suit and mask and asked him to be her date/bodyguard to the concert.

He accepted, of course, and reported that the Waynes still had no idea Damian was dating anyone, or had a soulmate. Everything was going perfectly according to plan…

December 21 came.

Damian left Wayne Manor at 3:30 so it wouldn’t be suspicious. He headed to a cafe, made sure he’d lost any tails, then headed to Mari’s house.

Chloe was there, dressed in a white MDC with gold detailing and embroidery, fitting for the season.

Damian changed into his suit, which was a crisp black, done in the style of Jagged and Luka’s rocker suits, but with the eccentricity toned down. His shirt was black and his tie was black, but gold embroidery sparkled and wound throughout the tie and suit edging.

It was a stepping stone to more creative suits that Mari had in mind for him.

(Chloe handed him a comm, which he put in his pocket.)

It was comfy, and hopefully, as something he wouldn’t normally wear, it would throw his family even further off his track of acting unusually.

Marinette descended the stairs, wearing an ethereal white cloud of tulle. Silver and gold embroidery graced the form-fitting bodice and layered lacy tulle sleeves hung to her elbows. The skirt could rip away to show the white jumpsuit pants underneath.

She wore a gold chain with a small diamond pendant and her Ladybug studs, disguised as gold-clasped garnet drop earrings.

Her mask was a matte white domino with intricate gold swirls extending from the forehead and cheek lines.

A bold red lipstick finished off Fairy’s look. Her waist-length curls swung freely.

Damian picked his jaw up off the floor and took her hand, pressing a kiss to the back. “You look breathtaking, ya nafasy."

At the concert venue, Mari ran through the sound check and vocal warm-ups while Chloe made sure her dressing room was off-limits. Damian and Chloe put their earpieces in after Marinette tuned them to her channel.

During the concert, Damian waited in the wings with Chloe. He noticed his family in the reserved seats with backstage passes to meet Fairy after the concert.

He warned Chloe and Marinette as they waited in the dressing room once it was over.

After five lucky people had met Fairy and gotten a (charmed) autograph, the entire Wayne family minus Bruce and Damian filed in. (Cass was back from Hong Kong for the holidays.)

“Hi, guys, I’m Fairy! How are you doing?”

“We’re great! The concert was amazing!! Dick Grayson, huge fan of your work.”

The family nodded in agreement.

“Aww, you guys are the best. I’m always blown away by how much you Wings love my work. So you liked it, good.”

"Tim Drake,” He shook her hand. “Your new songs are amazing! What inspired the second one?”

“I met my soulmate last October, and then I wrote that song the night we formally met.”

After a short conversation with each member of the Waynes, Fairy introduced them to Icarus, her soulmate and bodyguard (aka their little brother, Damian).

They never suspected a thing.

Once the next ten people passed through, Damian, Marinette, and Chloe drove back to Mari’s house to relax. After a cup of tea Wayzz had freshly brewed, Damian headed back to Wayne Manor.

He snuck into the Batcave, changed back into his civilian clothes from his suit, and waited for his siblings’ exuberance to spill down.

February fifth, Damian collapsed on Marinette’s sofa in the back of Lucky Charms.

“Father suspects something; I know it.”

“How?” she looked up from pinning a suit together.

“He gave me the Spring Gala to plan. He knows I would never allow it to be a failure, but it takes weeks of planning to accomplish, which means I cannot sneak away for hours to see you.”

Marinette immediately switched to planner mode. “I can help, and I’m sure Chloe would be thrilled to be her bossy self in charge of things. She and Penny have lots of contacts and know the best places to get good deals. Entertainment….Fairy can sing, maybe? When is the Gala?”

“Whenever I choose. Sometime between April and June.”

“Perfect! My second album is coming out in July, so I could perform a couple new songs again, get the Wings hyped, and I bet you’d get great numbers of attendees if I announced I was revealing my music video at the Gala. Oh, speaking of, will you play my lead?”

“Anything for you, ya nafasy . Which song are you turning into a music video?”

“You know the one I played for you last week? Still haven’t named it– maybe you can help– but I’ve got all the scenes filmed in my head.”

“Oh, the one that sounds like this?” He hummed a few bars.

“Yeah, that one.”

“Can I have a copy of the lyrics?”

“Tikki?”

The ladybug kwami produced a sheet of paper with the lyrics Mari had finalized.

Damian read it over while Marinette completed her sewing.

“Mmm…Searching for You?” he suggested at last.

“I like it! What do you guys think?” She turned to the kwami.

“It fits very well, Marinette. We approve,” Tikki winked at her chosen. They’d had several long discussions about Damian.

“Thank you, ma lune. Did anything else interesting happen today?”

“Grayson crashed into Brown mid-grapple while they were on patrol. I’ll send you the video.”

“Ha! That’s like, the fourth time this year!” Marinette cackled as she watched the footage from the mask cams play out on her phone.

Damian had approved her security before he shared videos of the Bats with her, but she had high-security software on all her tech, thanks to Max helping her.

May 16th was the Waynes' annual Spring Gala.

None of the Waynes & co. could find Damian.

“He’s probably checking that everything’s going smoothly at the hall,” said Bruce to Jason as they tied their bowties.

“He’s taken planning it quite seriously. I can’t wait to see how it turns out.”

Jason gasped in shock. “B! You almost sound sentimental or proud. Are…are you… showing emotion ?”

The assembled Batclan hooted in laughter as Bruce glared unheatedly at Jason.

At the Gala hall, there were still no signs of Damian. The Gala started at 7:30, and now it was 7:20, and still no sign of the host and organizer.

On the plus side, none of his danger signals had gone off. Where was he? He had to officially start it.

Of course, Bruce or one of the others could step in, but it would be strange that the one who had put it together didn’t show up.

Five minutes later, a white limousine pulled regally up to the red carpet stretching from the street to the door of the entrance hall.

The Waynes stood in a cluster by the foyer, waiting for their missing member.

The chauffeur hopped out and opened the door of the limo.

A tall, black-haired young man stepped out, then leaned back in to offer his hand to his date.

She had dark hair piled into a chignon, emerald earrings and necklace, and dainty silver strappy heels. Her dress was a pale lavender silk ballgown, with deep embroidered pleats and a plunging V-neckline to the bedazzled waistband. A layer of fine white silk filled the decolletage and trailed into airy sleeves. Her lips were red and she wore a purple mask with pearls trimming the edges.

“It’s Fairy!” Dick patted Babs’s arm excitedly.

The couple turned and glided up the carpet, where they lightly bowed to Bruce.

“Father.”

“Mr. Wayne.”

Damian wore Icarus’s suit, but in silver, this time, and his tie was lavender.

After a quick speech and answering a few questions from the media about the Gala, he declared the party to have begun.

Fairy leaned around his arm as they entered the Gala hall to smile and wave at his family.

“Damian is my date since my soulmate is busy.”

“How do you know Fairy,” hissed Jason at his youngest brother. “Is that an MDC suit?”

“She introduced me to Fairy.”

After the dinner and some speeches (which thankfully didn’t go on too long), Fairy stepped up to the stage.

“Hello, everyone, it’s nice to see you! I’m Fairy, your entertainment for the night. I apologize in advance if I’m not entertaining.” She paused for the chuckles. "You’re in for a special treat tonight. My newest single, from my upcoming album, has been made into a music video. And you all get to watch its premiere! Without further ado, Searching for You.”

On the large screen behind her popped up a black background with white lettering. “Searching for You" by Fairy (ft. Damian Wayne).”

It quickly blanked out and the MV began.

Fairy was dancing alone in different places around the world, as she sang the first verse and chorus.

The tempo picked up for the second verse and became a livelier melody as she met her soulmate, played by Damian. (They activated their soulbond but just let the audience assume it was CGI/special effects.)

The second verse and chorus were spent together in one spot as days and nights passed by. Damian’s harmonizing and the third verse sounded beautiful as it showed his conflicted feelings about the bond.

Then Fairy picked up the bridge and fourth verse, which they sang together as they wandered the world.

Half the time the Waynes spent watching the video, and half they spent staring incredulously at a nonchalant Damian, then back to Fairy.

Once it was over, Fairy returned to the stage in a performance outfit, ready to sing some of her other songs.

The Waynes huddled around their youngest member. “What did Fairy’s soulmate think of you doing that, and then being her date?”

“Icarus? There’s no need to worry. He and Fairy are quite secure in their relationship. I checked–he is 100% okay with it.”

The family turned back to their favourite performer, not wanting to miss her performance. They could always grill him more at home.

A/N: "Ya nafasy" is an Arabic term of endearment that translates to 'my breath' or 'my lungs', as best as I could make out. A friend told me it's not commonly used, but is probable.

One average Tuesday in Françoise Dupont High School...

Marinette: (walks groggily to her seat, she'd face plant on her desk if not for Alya)

Alya (worriedly fuzzing over her bestie): Hey girl. You okay? I saw the live footage. Shadowmoth's really pushing it too far this time, huh? Five akumas in two days, it's like he doesn't even sleep.

Marinette (whining and whispering low): Ughhh. Tell me about it. I didn't even get to eat breakfast.

Chloe (examining her nails): Please, Dupein-Cheng. We all know you're just doing that for attention. Still think you have a chance with Adriekins? Pleassse. As if!

Lila (fakes tears to her audience): Oh poor Marinette. It must be the flu. Did you know I once helped a town in Africa prepare a vaccine cure for the sick? The tribe leader sure like to call me just to show they're grate--

Lila: (freezes when a batarang flies past her, cutting a strand of hair)

Damien (coolly walks into the classroom to retrieve the batarang from the wall): My bad Rossi, my wrist feels heavy today.

Damien (approaches and bends to Mari's eye level): Angel, come on. I'll take you to the mansion so you can get a proper rest. I'm sure Aunt Sabine and Uncle Tom wouldn't want you home alone in this state. We can call them on the way.

Adrien (spots the commotion and speedwalks, accidentally hitting Chloe with his bag): Marinette, what's wrong? I have some fever medicine. Father always make sure I have a whole emergency supply. Are you allergic to anything?

Luka (the calmest of the lot): Melody, what do you need? I can tell Ms. Bulsier you're feeling out of the weather. Don't worry about school work. I'll take notes for you and bring them to you later.

Chloe and Lila: (fuming)

Juleka and Alix: (calmly watching the scene, chuckling)

Alya: Damn girl. Three heartthrobs at your beck and call. Your lucky stars sure are something.

Marinette: Thanks guys. I just-- (faints)

Assorted ML headcanons

This post is a mile long, so for that reason I’m putting a read more very early in. That being said, I got like, every character in the season four intro in here, all several times at least, and a few other characters, so come get y’all juice. If you read all of them ily and also which one is/which ones are your favorite(s)?

The semi-popular headcanon that Kagami and Ondine go to the same school and are jock friends? *chefs kiss*

There’s also that,,, not even headcanon,,,, but theory that Alix used to be friends with Chloe and Sabrina as a mean girl trio. It’s based on scrapped early concepts where Alix was the third mean girl, and their three names referenced the main trio of Totally Spies which Astruc worked on. Considering how ml likes to work its scrapped ideas into canon, I think it’s plausible that this could come up in the show, and it’d explain the interesting way Chloe and Alix interact.

Chloe can’t bring herself to treat Alix the way she treats everyone else because she’s intimidated by the person Alix used to be, or maybe she misses that Alix? On the other hand, Alix cut Chloe off completely when she became a better person, and she doesn’t feel bad giving her a taste of her own medicine, but she isn’t scared of her like everyone else because she’s seen her normal side.

Mylene has a little ukelele she plays sometimes while Ivan plays his hand drum. She knows the basics, and occasionally they sing too.

When Marinette was younger, she was obsessed with those popular crafts like lanyard and bead stuff, rainbow loom, and duct tape fashion. She made Tom and Sabine a duct tape wallet and lanyard keychain and they were like aww. One day they walked into her room to see a full ball gown made of duct tape and woven beads and were like AAA

When Alya goes to art club she’s usually developing photos from candid street photography

When Max is there he’s either 3D printing little knick knacks or working on making games. His akuma fighting game was a street fighter-like 2D game with pixel sprites, but he’s trying to learn 3D modeling so he can make something more complex.

Marc and Nathaniel’s manga contains information about Ladybug and Chat Noir that they should have absolutely no way of knowing.

Kagami reads their work religiously, but she only noticed the dedication to Marinette in volume one after a few rereads.

Kagami in the locker room: Marinette, your conversation with Adrien a moment ago was just like when Reverser first met The Mightillustrator. In the book, they- Marinette: Marc and Nath? I’m the one who set them up in the first place. Kagami: W- Mari: they’re literally upstairs right now. Wanna go meet them? Kagami: Wh-

Alya and Nino are both massive film nerds. Nino is obvious (Horrificator, Queen Banana) but have you seen Alya’s insta? Constant movie dates with her bf and all the besties. (I counted. Six different posts plus two on Mari’s account and one on Alya’s about Nino making a new film) They watch almost everything notable that comes out and talk about the movies in that pretentious film bro way, but they’re both so into it.

Whatever is going on with Alix and Nath’s hair? They did that together. 2am, random scissors, box dye. That’s gotta be canon, there’s no other explanation.

Zoe listens to Girl in Red and Clairo and stuff (I say this as someone who doesn’t)

Sabrina is scary good at FPSs

Going on stupid one-on-one adventures with Kim is like Zuko Field Trips from ATLA. Truly a formative experience. Have you really lived if you haven’t followed Kim on a dare, messed around, and made some dumb choices? All his friends have.

You also haven’t lived if you don’t have a friendship bracelet woven by Rose

Alix can’t swim

Ivan gets all the tea in class. He sits there in unsuspecting silence minding his own business, but he’s in the perfect location to hear everyone’s conversations at once, even when they’re whispering. Don’t worry, your secrets are safe with him.

Nath chose to sit alone in the back so he could have personal space and privacy while he draws sleeps slacks off learns, but Ms. Bustier just had to put Lila right next to him. He quickly starts to dislike her not because he knows of her true nature but because she just never shuts up like oh my god how can anyone talk so much about nothing? He doesn’t know she’s lying, but that doesn’t matter because he stopped listening anyways.

Eventually, Nath moves into the empty seat next to bestie Ivan and Lila is left alone in the back.

Everyone always expects Juleka to be something goth and/or scary on Halloween, like a vampire or classic horror movie masked serial killer, but she loves dressing up as girlboss villains. Once she was Harley Quinn while Rose was Poison Ivy, and once it was the other way around. That Harley wig was revamped from her Junko Enoshima cosplay from years past. Recently she pulled off a Cruella design that made Marinette wish she came up with it first.

Chloe, wearing a bee costume that’s actually just a cute outfit with an antennae headband: In Girl World, Halloween is the one night of the year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it. Alix wearing a Meowth onesie: Meowth, that’s right!

Nath and Marc are Jesse and James. They came up with the idea.

Mylene is one of those girls whose insta story is always full of activism posts

Nino feels the need to appear cool and mature in the media he consumes. He’d be embarrassed if someone caught him listening to dance pop off the top 100 or watching the Ice Age movies. He leaves those movies out of his Letterbox, and he has one of those performative Spotifies where all his “cool” songs are organized by vibe in playlists with pretentious names and captions, and they all have matching aesthetic photography as the covers.

Adrien is the opposite. His Spotify is a mess of spontaneously made playlists of songs he felt like listening to in the moment as well as oddly specific playlists. He only makes them look nice if they’re for someone else, but otherwise they’re either cover/captionless with the default Playlist #n name or names like songs to appease the cheese demon, classical music to cry over algebra to, Ninocore, Chloe watch One Piece, and Persona 4 Dancing All Night OST.

Rose is so good at getting people gifts. She knows exactly what everyone would like, and if she sees something that reminds her of someone while shopping she’ll just buy it and hold onto it. Or not. Surprise present!

Mari, Kim, and Nino childhood friends headcanon my beloved

Zoe and Marc don’t refer to each other as friends, but rather as lab partners, which they are. The word “friend” doesn’t capture the frenemy bond between two people who are surviving Mendeleiev’s class together. Zoe keeps skipping parts of the procedure or accidentally messing up measurements like haha oopsie daisy and Marc’s like *deep breath* yeah :) haha :) oopsie daisy :) you’ll get it next time, though :) ...right?

He’s a perfectionist, control freak on a bad day. Falling behind makes him super anxious, but he also hates when his work isn’t as good as it could be if he had more time. He’s one of those people who hates group projects because he doesn’t trust the work of his group members to meet his standards.

Sabrina’s into murder mysteries and true crime. She watches documentaries late at night and tries to stay ahead of the narrator by analyzing the evidence.

Crime and mystery TV/movies, even the fictional ones, scare tf out of Chloe, as much as she tries to hide it. She makes Sabrina watch corny chick flicks, romances, and hallmark Christmas type movies when they have sleepovers.

Juleka would love to decorate her room with something super aesthetic like a bookshelf full of vintage tomes or a shelf full of candles and cool glass trinkets, but alas, she cannot because. Boat.

Luka doesn’t have this problem because he’s fine with few decorations. He likes the simplicity, open space, and natural light. He’s a minimalist, and he finds his twin’s maximalism overwhelming.

Juleka bullies Luka, but Luka can’t bully Juleka without feeling awful about it afterwards.

Juleka practices cosmetology on Luka, and she’s been doing it since they were little. She got one of those kiddy makeup things for the holidays once, and turned him into a clown, but these days the things she does are much more impressive.

Alix makes friends everywhere she goes. She’s like the “guy who knows a guy” of the group because she has connections everywhere. You thought Marinette meets every single person in Paris? Alix has met their pets and sends them happy birthday texts. Her snap score is insane.

Markov sees himself as mentally a bit younger than Max and his friends even though he’s physically less than a year old, yet contains more knowledge than they can ever hope to learn in a lifetime.

Markov emulates DS games and speed runs them. He’s always looking for new bugs to take advantage of. Despite his ability to do a ton of things at once, he can become so absorbed that he doesn’t pay attention to the things going on around him

Markov: *mindlessly following Kim and Max after school* *bumps into a pole* Max: whoa, Markov? Are you oka- wait. You’re speed running Super Mario 64 again, aren’t you. Markov: ... *blank stare* Max: yeah, okay. Please fly higher when we’re crossing the street, though?

Marinette has Operation Secret Garden code names for all of her friends, y’know, just in case.

Kagami is Nightshade, Zoe is Daffodil, Luka is Iris, Nino is Carnation, Kim is Morning Glory, Max is Hyacinth, Markov is Phlox, Ivan is Foxglove, Nath is Amaranth, Marc is Hibiscus, Chloe is Marigold, Sabrina is Zinnia, and Lila is Lilac (subtle). Good luck remembering who’s who now, Rose. I mean, Tulip. I mean, Rose.

Mylene is the secret prank master, but she doesn’t pull practical jokes very often, so she goes unnoticed. When Alix and Kim are in a heated prank war, Alix comes to her for help the way the hero of a martial arts movie will walk into an unassuming restaurant, say the secret code, and be ushered into the dojo basement to learn the ways of the hidden master.

Speaking of restaurant, the hc that Kim’s parents run a Vietnamese restaurant? Very good.

Nath is immune from pranks because he’s paranoid. No horror movies or weird unreality jokes either

Alya found Marc’s tumblr. She knows it’s his because it’s linked to his AO3 and she recognizes his writing. She reads it. A lot. His icon is Celestia Ludenberg over the rainbow pride flag. She will never tell him because if she did, he’d have a heart attack and die.

Chloe has a private spam insta that very few people are allowed to see

At first, Ivan and Adrien’s other friends from school are intimidated by Luka because,,, cool mature guy,,, but soon the tables turn and Luka is kinda intimidated by them because they could sit down, craft an elaborate bank robbery plan, carry it out successfully, and be home in time for dinner just for fun. They run around Paris doing dumb things and he’s trying so hard to mom friend them.

Marinette always uses the “class representative” excuse to be the leader of the group and take care of her classmates. Mireille is the class rep for Mendeleiev’s class and all she does on a normal day is take the attendance down to the office. Mari knows the details of everyone’s lives like Santa.

“I’ll start getting better grades if I just buckle down and study, really” “but I’m your class representative! Let me tutor you” “As your class representative, it’s my duty to attend your extracurricular sports competitions and performances” “Marinette, it’s a papercut. It’ll get better on its own” “what kind of class representative would I be if I let you walk around with the risk of infection? Let me clean that and put a bandaid on it”

Kim is really good at cooking. At first, nobody trusts him around sharp objects and fire, but he goes full dad mode at the stove. He loves the attention that comes with feeding a bunch of hungry teenagers and listening to their compliments.

If you’re feeling under the weather, Rose will be at your front door with a homemade care package as soon as she finds out.

Ivan’s family is Eastern European

Aurore is like the “Queen B” of Mendeleiev’s class, but her mean girl act is more sassy and iconic whereas Chloe is just a bully. Aurore can be self absorbed and entitled at times, but overall she’s pretty well liked. After she lost the weather girl competition, she started goin out of her way to be supportive of the people around her and hype them up.

When Ondine exists outside of the swimming pool, which she does, her street clothes are typically athletic, like leggings and jogging jackets. She wears a lot of flannels. Oh yeah, and canon reminder, she’s suuuper tall.

The canon idea that Juleka got held back one year is a result of retcon bs, but I like the hc that she was held back as a result of her anxiety. I also have an idea that Anarka noncommittally homeschooled the twins as kids, and Juleka ended up being a year behind the typical curriculum while Luka was fine.

Nath and Alix aren’t keen on going out with the whole friend group. They much prefer spending time with one or a few people at a time.

Adrien and Kagami are forced to go to all these rich people events chock full of Paris elite, and even though they’ve met all sorts of celebrities in person, they’re pretty done with them. They’re much more starstruck by their own friends than Jagged Stone, XY, or Prince Ali. Their autographed Kitty Section CDs (cover art by Marinette, burned onto blank disks on Max’s laptop) are more valuable to them than their autographed CDs of Clara Nightingale’s unreleased next album.

I have sooo many future headcanons that I think they deserve their own post, so I left them all out of this one. I will make a future hc post... in the future. >:)
