Hey, I'm new to Tumblr but have been lurking on AO3 for a year or two. I've started a few fanfics but never got far enough to feel comfortable publishing anything. I know you write DC fanfics, and I'm working on one right now that's centered in The Batman (2022) movie universe. Would you be willing to beta read what I have so far, or can you recommend someone else? I noticed you only have one fic under that specific fandom, so if it's not in your wheelhouse I totally understand! Thanks!

Making this in addition to my beta search, since I forgot to add this in right away! This will be for my sambucky fics.

I'd also love a beta reader (can be an additional one or the same!) who is black/african american/poc to also help with racial sensitivity in my fics! I like to think I'm pretty good and aware of those things in my writing, but I feel like most people think that and then can go on to write harmful/hurtful things in their fics. For this, I'd want someone to beta read, but it would lean more into tone and racial sensitivity than grammar. I absolutely love these two characters and try to do them both justice, but I'm also aware that I'm white and may write things that are hurtful that I don't realize, and I would like to learn & avoid them.

looking for a beta.

i'm participating in the 'unconventional courtship' fic challenge over at dreamwidth and have written a ~3500 word long fic for the call me by your name fandom based on a harlequin/romance novel summary. only problem is, i could really use a beta reader for this one, since i feel something is off about it - and preferably, i would like it to be someone who is canon familiar (has read both books).

the pairing in the fic is michel/elio in a what if-elio had met michel in a different context and they ended up together-kinda way. it's pretty much gen, nothing explicit about it, just two people having a conversation at a piano, basically. lots of canon references, lots of flashbacks to oliver, etc.

Hi anon! The only things I absolutely refuse to beta is non/con, stories with ED, or MCD. Sadly, it's more of a time thing nowadays. I always make time to beta for friends who need me, but otherwise life has made me a bit thin. I'm hoping to find more time after my Big Bang is finished!

Want to beta an arthropod focused HP fic?

I have heard people say tumblr can be useful for finding beta readers so here we go. If there is any kind and generous soul willing to look over the first couple of chapters of a fic I’m writing for my daughter I would be most appreciative. If you’re tolerant enough to look over more of it as I get through more of the current draft that would be lovely but even looking at the first chapter or two would be immensely helpful. 

Fandom: Harry Potter (set during the Riddle Era, but not Riddle focused - it is an OC/self insert for the child and her Ravenclaw student besties and their magical arthropod club. She wanted to be friends with Myrtle Warren hence the choice of time period.) 

Rating: uhh maybe age 7 up? the first few chapters deal with the fact that the setting is England during WWII but I am writing this for a child who is not old enough for teen and up ratings and who recoils at the thought of even minor romance 

Other potential warnings: this story will involve a lot of ants and beetles and such, in case the phrase “magical arthropod club” did not give this away 

the general premise is there is a MAGICAL ARTHROPOD CLUB at Hogwarts and the members learn about the mysterious treasure people say the magical arthropod’s founder left behind and decide they ought to try and find it. 

any help appreciated! Willing to trade as long as you do not require speed :)

So just mucking about with it a bit this morning and it actually seems pretty interesting, pretty cool; a quick glance and I can see what's up with everything/everyone I actually interact with here on the Hellsite (affectionate).

Thing is, I'm not seeing anywhere to actually compose a post. There's no little bar above the feeds to choose from or anything. It's just feeds, so I had to come back to regular Tumblr to write this.

Am I just missing it? Overlooking it?

Because honestly, I can see myself using this if I have the ability to compose posts as well. I'm not sure how it would work on mobile, as I usually compose things on desktop and just reblog w/maybe some commentary and tags on mobile.

I don't know if you'll even see this, guys, but I had to try.
