Beto O’Rourke snapped at Abbott’s press conference today, was called a “sick son of a bitch”, and was then escorted out while audience begged “let him speak”.

“This one is on us,” Beto says, speaking about the Uvalde shooting. “Now is the time to stop the next shooting. Right after Santa Fe High School was the time to stop the next shooting. Right after El Paso was the time to stop the next shooting. Right after Midland-Odessa was the time to stop the next shooting. In each case we say this isn’t the time. Now is the time!”

He’s right.

before i start posting anything about the requests, i just wanted to put this out there for everyone…

as a woman who lives in texas, not by choice trust me, i’m trying to get out lmao, it disturbs me that we have yet, once again, chosen greg abbott to be the leader of this state. not only is he just a piece of shit, but he has stood by while the parents of the children of uvalde have mourned the deaths of their children. the children that waited for nearly an hour for officers to do SOMETHING. but no, greg abbott won’t do anything, because he’s a worthless, waste of oxygen. they would rather worry about the contents of my uterus, than the children who are alive, breathing, and have a conscience on this planet right now. i honestly expected better out of texas. how are we still letting this man hold power? do better.

that rant being over and said, if there is anybody who needs someone to talk to about this, even just to rant or anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out. these are scary times for all of us, including women and people of color. we have to do better.

OK before I turn in I feel sick I feel like vomiting I’m already crying I know I will be for a little bit the thing is I knew this was most likely going to happen it’s just I’m 19 it was my first time voting and I really felt like I could make a difference after what happened in Uvalde (I had family in the school) I knew I had to vote it just sucks really truly deeply sucks that Abbott won.  I go to bed hoping that I get some good news on some of the other elections happening tonight, I still have hope for this country but tonight was not a great night for me.
