Damit sind wir nicht alleine, schätze ich xD Der einzige, der sich davon überhaupt nicht hat ablenken lassen, war überraschenderweise Joko. Der war scheinbar zu sehr damit beschäftigt, Klaas im Finale mit beeindruckender Überlegenheit völlig auflaufen zu lassen.

Liebe Deine Analysen! Ich bin relativ neu im Fandom und gestern nach DUDW habe ich das erste mal Die Beste Show gesehen und war so geschockt, wie sehr Joko von Klaas runtergemacht wurde. Man hat schon gemerkt, dass es für die Show ist, aber hatte Klaas damals echt so die krasse Vorgabe Joko fertig zu machen oder war da auch bisschen privater Beef bei? Nachdem ich das gesehen habe, kann ich absolut verstehen, dass Joko irgendwann keinen Bock mehr auf das Konzept hatte, er tat mir in vielen Momenten so leid. 🥲 Da gefällt mir die heutige Dynamik viel besser. Erstmal vielen, lieben Dank und schön, dass du den Weg in dieses Fandom gefunden hast!

Deine Frage zur Besten Show finde ich sehr spannend, weil das eine Show ist, die mich auch nach mehrmaligem Schauen immer noch sehr fesselt und begeistert. (Und die uns DEN Tanz geschenkt hat, wofür ich ihr auf ewig dankbar sein werde, auch wenn ich nie nicht schreien kann bei dem Gedanken 💜)

Ich kann deine Reaktion auf jeden Fall sehr gut nachvollziehen und selbstverständlich ist dein Empfinden da total legitim 🫶 (mich würde auch sehr interessieren, welche Folge es war, die du geschaut hast). Gerade, wenn man so vertraut ist mit der Art, wie offen soft und herzlich JK heute miteinander sind, ist der Kontrast manchmal echt drastisch zu sehen. Meiner Ansicht nach ist das offen dabei aber ganz entscheidend.

Zu früheren JK-Zeiten war es ja das große Erfolgsrezept, die beiden als ewige Rivalen zu inszenieren und in verschiedenen Formaten gegeneinander antreten zu lassen. Das haben sowohl ihre unterschiedlichen Charaktere, die man jeweils sehr gut auf die Spitze treiben konnte, als auch ihr irrsinniger Ehrgeiz wunderbar hergegeben.

Die Beste Show reiht sich für mich da mit ein, wenngleich hier der Wettkampf eher das Gerüst stellt und die geballte Ladung Ideenreichtum den Umbau.

Und dennoch gab es immer schon Momente, in denen man als Zuschauer:in erkennen konnte, dass das Hass- bzw. Konkurrenz-Prinzip zwischen den beiden eben genau das war: ein Prinzip für groß aufgezogenes, schlau justiertes, gut funktionierendes Entertainment.

Als Erstes fällt mir da die Nepal-MAZ, als absoluter DUDW-Klassiker, ein. Die war von vorne bis hinten ein solcher Moment. Joko, der Klaas auf sehr harmlose, witzige Weise verarscht. Klaas, der hochgradig genervt ist und sich beim Abziehen des Tuchs und Joko-und-das-Team-Entdecken trotzdem so gar nicht das Grinsen verkneifen kann. Die Art, wie Klaas Jokos Honig-Trip begleitet, so sehr lacht und bei ihm ist - es ist jedes Mal aufs Neue soft.

Das war 2015.

Die Beste Show gab es ab 2016.

Ich bin sehr fest davon überzeugt, dass Klaas zwar seine Rolle als Jokos Kontrahent (genau wie andersherum) hatte, allerdings nie extra die Vorgabe bekommen hat, Joko fertig zu machen. Sich gegenseitig nicht die Butter auf dem Brot zu gönnen, wie man so schön sagt 😅, und die Grenzen des jeweils anderen maximal auszureizen war eben das, was dazugehört hat. Und es mag sein, dass Klaas das im Studio teilweise mehr verlautbart hat, ich würde aber behaupten, dass Joko ihm da im Grunde in nichts nachstand. Stichwort: Stuhlkippen in Neuseeland, um ein Beispiel zu nennen.

Aber es ist natürlich völlig okay, das anders wahrzunehmen.

In diesem Artikel werden JK gefragt, ob es denn auch schon mal "schepper[e]" zwischen ihnen und Klaas stellt sofort die Unterscheidung zwischen Fernsehen, wo es das durchaus tue, und privat heraus. "Ganz selten" antwortet Joko und das ist auch die Vorstellung, die ich immer hatte.

Klar, sind Auseinandersetzungen, auch mal heftigeren Ausmaßes, unvermeidbar, wenn man vielfach unterschiedlich tickt und ständig aufeinander hockt. Aber ich schätze, zwischen den beiden privat waren diese meist eher produktiv und ganz offenbar auch wirklich überhaupt nicht an der Tagesordnung, wie man vielleicht vermuten würde.

Im Podcast Kino oder Couch hat Joko mal erzählt: "Ich kannte Streitgespräche immer nur auf einer persönlichen Ebene. Klaas kann sachliche Streitgespräche führ'n, die einfach nur um den Inhalt gehen und [...] die das Ziel vor Augen [haben], das beste Ergebnis zu erzielen. Das hab' ich total gelernt von dem."

Das gibt einen Einblick, der ihre "Behind-the-scenes-Kommunikation", wie ich finde, sehr deutlich als eben das beschreibt: Kommunikation. Die immer irgendwohin führt.

Eingestellt wurde die Beste Show, meines Wissens nach, aufgrund des enormen Arbeitsaufwands, die das Konzept mit sich gebracht hat. Die Kulissen, die Promi-Buchung, die Proben, die Suche nach Kandidat:innen, die Planung, die Aufzeichnungen usw. - ich möchte mir gar nicht ausmalen, wie viele Stunden darin insgesamt stecken. Dass sowohl das kreative, als auch das zeitliche Pensum wahnsinnig schwer waren, aufrechtzuerhalten, zumal es anfangs ja noch CHG gab, irgendwann dann LNB und Jokos neue Show-Starts, leuchtet mir absolut ein. Darüber hinaus überschneiden sich die Teams hinter all den Shows an mehreren Stellen ja auch, wodurch viele dann eine Menge gleichzeitig stemmen mussten.

Persönliche Differenzen waren da kein Grund, glaube ich.

Und huch, jetzt ist das irgendwie lang geworden 😅

Der rote Faden der Konkurrenz ist mit der Zeit immer blasser geworden, allein dadurch, dass sie mit JKvsP7 ganz bewusst selbst damit gebrochen haben. (Liebe das auch, wie gut man mit den Staffeln verfolgen kann, wie sie enger und enger zusammenwachsen.)

Und heute sind wir an einem Punkt, an dem sie bei DUDW regelmäßig vergessen, dass sie ja gegeneinander spielen und nicht miteinander 😌 An dem sie keinen einzigen Zweifel mehr daran lassen, wie gern sie sich haben.

Okay but why the Error and Ink kindaaaaa ✨✨✨

OKAY, so, they’re part of my BEI Unrequited Love AU, right? Mainly it’s focused on Blue, where Error and Ink are already a couple.

Error and Ink have a pre-established relationship. They love each other very much and are closed off from Blue because they’re dependent upon each other and trust each other more than anyone else and have trouble letting people in, but also don’t really know Blue well enough to even have passive interest. They are vaguely aware of who Blue is and are friendly enough with him.

Blue on the other hand is a bit of a nervous wreck. He can’t really handle things in the best way and is a little obsessive. He knows it’s not healthy, but it’s not fair that he can’t have what he wants and gets treated like a little kid all the time by everyone around him. It’s not entirely his fault for being reactive, but he’s grown an attachment to these two. Almost parasocial. But he’s trying so hard to be normal about it and “get over” them, but that’s not exactly working when they end up put into the same group…

This AU is very based in being realistic and slice of life-ish.

0. Katara does in fact track down Toph and yell at her. It feels good. Toph yells back. That feels good too. It's cleansing. It's a bonding experience. Then Toph asks how Katara found her, and Katara is like, I've got good relations with the swamp benders, and Toph's like, oh yeah. But anyway, Katara has almost a week before she has to get back to the Southern Water Tribe and Korra, and she spends it crashing at Toph's place and catching up.

1. Several months later, Lin has to go to parent-teacher conferences. These would probably be less of a hellish ordeal for everyone involved if Lin had any ability left to trust teachers after what happened at the last school. She goes in fearful and defensive, which is a terrible frame of mind for these sorts of things. And it's fear, this thing she carries in with her, because Mako and Bolin seem to be doing really well at this new school, and she's afraid to find out it's not true.

2. Mako and Bolin's classroom teachers sit across from her, and both are smiling. Lin shoots them suspicious looks. They ask what concerns Lin has, and what she wants to know, and she turns it right back on them. What concerns do they think she has? Bolin's teacher, a man named Master Bao says at this school, most parents want to know two things: how their kids are doing academically, and what the school is doing to fix their children. The first, he says, is easy, because Bolin is doing well. He likes story time, and is memorizing lots of characters, and writes them mostly neatly, as neatly as any little boy. He has a wonderful imagination. The second is harder, because he doesn't need to be fixed. No child does. He just has some problems he needs to work on, and they want to help him with. Bolin wants everybody to like him, and he wants to entertain them and make them laugh, and when they don't like him, he tries even harder, even when those other kids are mean to him, so we're working with him on how to stand up for himself, and when to walk away. Lin is startled, because yeah, this is what she's noticed too.

3. Then Mako's teacher, Master Nira, a small, fast moving woman, pipes up. Mako wants to take charge. He wants to always be there to protect Bolin, and he doesn't always trust us to take care of him and his brother. We're working on building trust, and getting him to trust his brother to keep himself safe too. Also, he is very very good at math. Yeah, well, he needed that math when he was doing numbers for the Triple Threat Triad. She doesn't know why she said it, she was planning on keeping that back, on not telling their teachers anything. Maybe she wanted to shock them, which is probably why she tells them next that Mako kept the boys fed when they were on the streets. Mako's teacher nods, and says, that's good to know.

4. Lin is furious. What difference does it make, she wants to know. Are they going to judge them differently, because they were street kids? Is it going to be like the other school all over again? Master Nira smiles and says but it's always important to know where kids came from, what they knew before they got here, because all of the behaviors that are problems now, are things they learned to keep themselves safe, and it's important to honor that even as they're learning new things that are more helpful in their life now, to respect that these behaviors were good and important, even if they make things more difficult now. Master Bao asks Lin if he's right in thinking Mako acted like a parent, and like all kids acting as a parent, it was too much for him, so Bolin learned to play the clown to make Mako laugh and take away some of the stress. Lin nods. Master Bao laughes. Don't worry, he says, they're dealing with kids who have way worse and scarier problems then Mako and Bolin have. They're going to be fine. Lin's doing great with them.

5. Lin wants to know, what do they mean by worse problems. Master Nira looks uncomfortable. She says they can't talk about specific students, but they can say that they have students who are violent, and aggressive, or who lie, cheat, and steal, and they have to learn how to help these kids, and honor the way these behaviors kept them safe once, and help them feel safe enough so that they can change, because if they don't, not only is it bad that they feel that scared all the time, but also because it can mean that someday it's going to be Lin who's going to have to deal with them. It reminds her of the way Aang used to talk. She was always very close to Aang, but she always kind of thought he was hopelessly naive too. But this doesn't sound naive. And it kind of makes her think, that maybe her idea that if they just took all the bad people and put them in jail, the good people would be safe, that this might actually be the truly naive way to think. She leaves shaken, but feeling better about her boys.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Fußballfan!! <3 Vor allem, weil es was ist, was man auf den ersten Blick nicht unbedingt von ihr erwarten würde. Sie wirkt halt eher streng und ist nicht der Klischee-„Sporty“-Typ – weder von ihrer Art noch vom Kleidungsstil her, ich liebe das als Kombination.

Und es ist auch so ein bisschen relatable. Während meiner stärksten Fußball-Phase hab ich, auch, vor allem von Leuten auf der Arbeit, oft gehört, dass sie sich das bei mir gar nicht vorstellen können. Also erst mal überhaupt als Frau (obviously…), aber dann auch so in Richtung ob ich mir das wirklich gerne anschaue, und dann auch noch ab und zu im Stadion?? Also ja, deswegen umso cooler, das bei ihr so zu sehen.

10. Could you be best friends with this character?

Best friends find ich ein bisschen schwer zu beurteilen, weil wir einfach immer noch so wenig über sie als Charakter wissen, aber seit wir ein bisschen mehr von ihrer privaten Seite gesehen habe, würde ich auf jeden Fall sagen, we could be friends.

Das geht auch wieder ein bisschen in die Fußball-Richtung, aber ich glaube, wir würden uns da ganz gut verstehen, dass es Dinge gibt, die man „korrekt“ angehen muss, auch wenn man von anderen dann als Spielverderber hingestellt wird, dass das aber nicht heißt, dass man in anderen Bereichen keinen Spaß haben kann (eher im Gegenteil).  

Und „nicht alle Arbeitskolleg:innen müssen alles über mich wissen oder überhaupt alle meine Hobbys kennen“ kann ich auch sehr gut nachvollziehen, haha.

Ich muss mehr über jokos Reaktion auf das Intro aber auch das Ende der Show wissen 😭

Bei Klaas' Intro war Joko sehr aufgeregt. Er hat auf den Würfel gestarrt und dann die Hände überm Kopf zusammengeschlagen, als Klaas aus dem Flugzeug gesprungen ist. Ich hab ehrlich gesagt dadurch erst so richtig realisiert, dass das echt war und Klaas wirklich alleine aus dem Flugzeug springt.

Das restliche Intro hat er in vollen Zügen genossen, hat gelacht und gejubelt, genauso, wie man es in der Folge sehen konnte.

Während Klaas' letztem Song stand er neben Kathrin und hat Klaas einfach zugeschaut. Es war dunkel, weshalb man seinen Gesichtsausdruck nicht erkennen konnte, aber er war wie wir alle sehr auf Klaas fixiert.

Nach der Show gab es meiner Erinnerung nach keine off-cam Interaktion mehr. Joko ist noch im Studio geblieben, Schmitti kam Klaas entgegen, sie haben sich umarmt (soft) und dann gemeinsam das Studio verlassen (soft soft) <3

1. Katara gives Korra two weeks worth of homework (mostly on deep breathing and meditation, which she needs to be doing more of anyway) and turns her over to a Southern Water Tribe traditional dance teacher, who is overjoyed to have the young Avatar participating in this year's first sunset festival dance with the other children. Korra is skeptical, but Katara wants her doing something movement related while she's gone, or she will be bouncing off walls by the time Katara gets back. Besides, Korra is isolated from her people and kids her own age too much. But anyway, with her student seen to, Katara makes a trip to visit Suyin and her family.

2. Suyin is no fool. She knows Katara showing up so soon after Zuko expressed his concerns probably has something to do with those concerns. From her point of view, Katara shows up like, "I'm here to-" (whips out a pair of sunglasses) "◇~☆Question your parenting!☆~◇" And to be fair, Katara is absolutely there to question Suyin's parenting, but she's trying to do it in a loving nonconfrontational way, in which she offers Suyin support if she needs it. But Suyin has a lot of ego wrapped up in having saved Kuvira and set her on the right track. But at least the fact that she thinks everything is fine, means she's all too eager to show everything off to Katara. And as long as Katara keeps making appreciative noises and complementing Suyin, Suyin feels like Katara isn't a threat.

3. When the tour is all over, Katara asks to speak to Kuvira for a little bit alone. Oh, don't worry, Suyin dear, I just know Zuko would feel a lot better of I do. I want to put my old friend's mind at rest, that's all. So Suyin leaves them to it, and Katara immediately sits Kuvira down and tells her that Zuko sent her because he saw things he thought were wrong with things here, and Katara agrees, and she knows Kuvira doesn't have anybody to talk to who won't tell Suyin and Bataar, so here's her phone number and her address, and here's how to contact Zuko. It's a little harder, because he's always traveling, but she knows he would love to hear from her, and neither of them will tell Suyin or Bataar anything she tells them. Then she puts her finger to her lips and says goodbye. She smiles at Suyin, and tells her she feels much better about things now, and heads off. That of course is a blatant lie, and Katara feels helpless to fix anything, so she resolves to go track down Toph and yell at her. This might not actually be Toph's fault, but it will make Katara feel better.

4. Now that two old friends of their mother have turned up trying to find things wrong with how Suyin raises her children, Suyin knows there must be a reason, someone whispering nasty things in their ears, and she has one suspect. So she calls up her sister to yell accusations at her. And that's how Lin learns Zuko and Katara don't necessarily think everything is fine and grand with Suyin's family. She has no idea what to do with this information, but it's nice to have. She hangs up on her sister without comment. The tragedy, not that either Lin or Suyin can face this, is that Suyin isn't trying to be a bad parent. She's trying to give her children what she and her sister needed and didn't get. And Toph was trying to give her children the freedom she didn't get, and everybody keeps making new mistakes, trying to avoid the old ones.

5. It's a terrible irony that just as Suyin's own attempts at parenting are unravelling because she can't admit she's wrong, Lin's adventures in parenting are forcing her to admit she might have been wrong about everything, about her job, about how people work, about her city. And that how things go, with Lin learning to reevaluate the world at every step, while Mako and Bolin learn to do the same. And then, several months down the road comes that bane of every parent of a "problem child's" life, parent-teacher conferences.
