just fyi, man kann sich online für 10€/jahr einen bibliotheksausweis beim voebb (bibliothek berlin) ausstellen lassen (egal wo in deutschland man lebt!) und das online-angebot nutzen.

Aaaand it happened again: This thing called live – I literally finally enjoyed my time as short-term expat and it started with a trip to Copenhagen and Stockholm after Easter. Copenhagen was cute, but Stockholm got me hooked! Even though my first day there was very cold and rainy I still felt so content (the next days had been blessed by sunshine). After the winter in Norway and the long dark I felt as if I was eventually able to breath again.

I love Norway’s nature, the language, the cute colorful houses everywhere and even Oslo in winter, with the warm and cozy fairy lights has grown on me. But even without covid there is this common social distance and additionally this pressure of conformity that made me really hate my stay here.

As I returned from Stockholm to Oslo though, something had clicked, and the sun did it’s work as well: It was as if the city had woken up from a slumber.

In Stockholm I visited, among other places, Stockholm stadsbibliotek and Kungliga biblioteket, two of the most stunning libraries I’ve seen so far! And although it was a holiday trip, working on my thesis to spend more time in those places was worth the deal!

- After returning to Norway and soaking up spring and early summer here like the most dried out sponge ever, I didn’t work as much on my thesis as I wish I had. And there it is again: The pressure, the imposter thoughts, the guilt….

So currently my days here are like the weirdest rollercoaster that ever was built – they contain anxiousness and not being able to breath but also feeling free and happy; they contain guilt for not having achieved what I had planned to as well as being proud to have overcome the hard winter. They consist of going out, being social enjoying the nature and ignoring everything on my to-do-list, but also staying in and not being able to focus on my tasks because come on, the sun is shining! :D

Anyway – I’m in the process of letting myself enjoy the last couple of weeks here as much as possible and not think about it too much. There will be time to focus on the thesis soon enough.

Kinderhörspiele

Wir beziehen unsere Kinderhörspiele aus der Bibliothek (in Berlin: VÖBB = Verbund der Öffentlichen Bibliotheken Berlins).

Analog

Wir gehen regelmäßig mit den Kindern in die Bibliothek, suchen uns Hörspiele auf CD aus und leihen sie aus. Zuhause haben wir nur im Wohnzimmer einen CD Player. Die Kinder müssen sich also auf ein Hörspiel einigen. Auf dem Sofa stehend kommen sie selber an alle Knöpfe und den Einschub ran und können selbstständig das Hörspiel starten. Wenn andere Menschen im Wohnzimmer das Hörspiel nicht hören wollen, müssen die Kinder Kopfhörer aufsetzen. Damit mehrere Kinder gleichzeitig hören können, liegt neben der Anlage ein Kopfhörer-Splitter, mit dem man bis zu 5 Kopfhörer-Klinkenstecker in den einen Klinkenanschluss der Anlage stecken kann. Meist sitzen sie dann mit den Kopfhörern auf dem Kopf andächtig auf dem Sofa und lauschen. Manchmal nutzen sie aber die gesamte Reichweite des Kopfhörerkabels und malen parallel auf dem Couchtisch.

Digital

Beim VÖBB kann man auch über die Onleihe Hörspiele ausleihen. Dazu öffne ich auf unserem Tablet die Onleihe-App. Als erstes verzweigt mich die App in den Browser auf die VÖBB-Anmeldeseite, wo ich mich mit Bibliotheksausweisnummer und Passwort anmelde. Automatisch werde ich zurück in die App verzweigt, in der ich nun nach Medien suchen kann. Ich suche meistens nach bestimmten Titeln oder Autor*innen und filtere dann auf Medien-Art “Audio” und setze den “Verfügbar”-Filter. In der Bibliotheks-App geht es nämlich zu wie in der richtigen Bibliothek: von den meisten Medien ist nur ein Exemplar verfügbar. Habe ich ein Hörspiel gefunden, leihe ich es aus. Die App gibt mir dafür Optionen für Ausleihzeiträume zwischen 2 und 14 Tagen. Anschließend habe ich die Option, das Hörspiel für den Offline-Modus zu laden. Abgespielt wird das Hörspiel direkt in der Onleihe-App. 

Die Kinder hören gerne ein Hörspiel zum Einschlafen. Dafür stelle ich ihnen das Tablet mit laufendem Hörspiel und ausgeschaltetem Bildschirm dann in das Kinderzimmer. 

Wenn wir eine Autofahrt planen, uns also ein Auto borgen oder mieten, lade ich die Hörspiele auf das Tablet vor. Im Auto verknüpfe ich das Tablet dann per Bluetooth mit der Musikanlage. In vielen modernen Autos kann ich dann sogar noch die Musikanlage so einstellen, dass die Ausgabe des Sounds vor allem über die hinteren Lautsprecher erfolgt. Dann können wir vorne quatschen, während die Kinder hinten ihr Hörspiel hören können.
