Art thief Jeff Dieschburg plagiarised the work of Jingna Zhang and presented it as his own version of Turandot. Even winning prize money for it.
When confronted, he claimed he was “inspired” by her work even though it’s obviously just her work but flipped and recoloured.

In other news, Jingna is not the only artist he has chosen to steal from.

Here is his lovely responses when questioned. “I don’t understand why you have to make such a scene”, “I didn’t represent this woman from Japan (or wherever she is from)”. Smells like white bullshit.
Tumblr media
And here is a snippet of a message he sent to Jingna trying to cover his ass after she found out about his plagiarism. Btw the person he “stumbled upon” is another plagiariser, birds of a feather something something.

The rapidly growing annual or biennial Calendula officinalis (common marigold, goldins, Jack-on-horseback, Mary's gold, pot marigold, Scotch marigold, souvenir, yellow goldes, marybuds) can be found flowering all year round, especially in a mild winter. The leaves have distinctive aromatic leaves.

Tiny Curiosity: Etymology of Biannual and Biennial
"Biannual" and "biennial" have distinct meanings despite their similar spellings.
"Biannual" means occurring twice a year.
"Biennial" refers to something happening once every two years.
Origin: These terms stem from the Latin language, where "bi-" means two and "annus" means year.
Related words: annals, annuity, annum, perennial
This is part of my Tiny Curiosity series. I publish worldbuilding tidbits, trivia, etymology to this blog.

Similarly, grafting a shoot from the LDP Petunia hybrida onto a stock of the cold-requiring biennial henbane (Hyoscyamus niger) caused the latter to flower under long days, even though it was nonvernalized (Figure 20.18).

Onion flowers. I will be saving seeds 🙃 I think I will plant onions in my cottage garden this year so I can see them bloom again next year.

Plant of the Day
Sunday 17 March 2024
At the local market there was a display of Myosotis sylvatica cultivars (garden forget-me-not). This short-lived perennial, usually grown as a biennial, has blue flowers but the cultivars also offered white and pink flowers. These plants will have been grown from seed for spring planting in containers and borders.

Are You Growing Swiss Chard?
On 1/16/24, I planted several types if seeds.  When I choose seeds to plant, I think about which foods do I like to eat.  Then I also consider which foods that I like are the most nutrient dense.  One of them I planted was Swiss chard. Swiss chard can be considered a superfood. It contains high amounts of vitamin K, vitamin C and vitamin A. It also has a good amount of magnesium and…
