In my humble opinion, khajiit will follow is an incredible mod.

Brief introduction to the characters. Bikhai is a aspiring member of the companions, that is to say is actually is not a member and is more of a housekeeper. (Please if you do that companions quests take him it's so sweet). Nanak a scholar you can find at the bards college! He does not have the normal diction of a khajiit, but he slips up occasionally. Ma'kara (my love) a refugee from Morrowind on the lookout for her brother, she can be found near dark water crossing. Her story is one of grief, which you can help her through. Last but not least, Sa'riq a sneak thief found in Riften jail. He's just been caught after a botched heist. For me you just have to experience his quest for yourself, I love him dearly.

I literally love all the characters so much, I took them out a load order once and my game felt off. The voice acting is also great.

Not to mention they are even better if you play as a khajiit, which I do often. I mean it's just great.

Beyond the characters they also do very well in combat. I mean having all four around at once feels like a DnD party. What's even better is you can customize how they fight! They even have separate storage for equipment.

While the romance is not something like Kaidan, it is still very sweet. I've only married Ma'kara but have read the literature pertaining the others as you can't marry them right away. I mean to marry Nanak you have to have read a certain number of books, and talk to him about books he's read a few times. Which I find adorable. They all even have their own quirks. They do pretty much everything a vanilla spouse will do, but all have unique things to say about being married to you.

From my playthrough they don't have much in the way of quest commentary, which personally I don't mind. They do however will mention things about factions. If you take Sa'riq to the College of Winterhold he will jokingly say he might "borrow" some books. When you tell him to be careful and not get caught he jokes and says he'll feign innocence and blame you. I find it very on brand.

The last point I want to bring up is Inigo. He by all accounts is the Khajiit follower, so how to they compare to him? They don't. That would be like comparing apples to oranges. All five characters are different and only really share a race. Do not expect them to be like Inigo cause they are not. One thing I love about this mod is to get their commentary you have to actually go up and talk to them. I prefer this, and it's similar to what Gore is like in that regard. That isn't to say they don't have radiant dialogue about caves and such, but it's not common.

10. Acting as leader of a guild

Characters:

Merri'sa (Khajiit female, main character, Harbinger of The Companions) Bikhai (Khajiit male, Merri'sa's husband, Khajiit Will Follow mod) Vilkas (Nord male, Companion inner circle)

"Vilkas."

"Yes, Harbinger?"

Merri'sa calls out to one of the twin wolves in Jorrvaskr basements. From the doorway that leads to the bedrooms underneath the building, she can spot Vilkas reading a book by the main dining table. The other wolf twin is visible in the background, cleaning his steel sword with some rags from some bloodstain.

"Where's Aela?"

"She's out to Riverwood, Harbinger. Do you want me to get her?"

"Right, and bring your brother. We're welcoming another member to our ranks."

Vilkas puts down his book and calls out to his twin, yelling at him from across the hallway and telling him to ready up. To an outsider it would be a very weird sight of a Khajiit commanding a guild of mostly Nords in Skyrim, The Companions even, but she's proven herself well to be the successor to Kodlak after his passing. And after being personally blessed by Kodlak's spirit himself, her title is unquestionable.

Merri'sa goes back upstairs to the main hall of the Companions. Underneath the upside-down-boat style building lies a massive fireplace in the middle for cooking and warmth, surrounded by long tables and chairs to accommodate every member of the guild.

Sitting on one of the chairs, nervously tapping his feet and fiddling with his fingers, is Bikhai. A male Khajiit with muscle mass, height and swordmanship comparable to Ysgramor, although unfortunately he doesn't quite have the courage or the boldness of Ysgramor. A rather closed, introverted and shy individual, Merri'sa first met him some months ago in the Jorrvaskr basement, not wielding a sword and shield like a warrior, but rather a broom and a dirty rag, sweeping the floors of the living quarters.

After some lengthy discussion and persuasion with Kodlak, he was permitted to stand with the other members as a full fledged two-handed fighter, and after the defeat of the World-Eater he happily sits beside Merri'sa as her husband.

But not quite a true Companion.

"Hey."

"Hm? Oh, sorry, this one is... a little nervous."

Merri'sa takes a seat beside him, wrapping her arm around his shoulder in an attempt to pacify Bikhai's constantly conflicted mind. Bikhai has always dreamed of being a true Companion, something to place his mind into, for a chance at some kind of redemption of his past troubled life, before he came to Skyrim.

(author note: won't spoil for those who haven't yet tried the Khajiit Will Follow mod)

"Lighten up a little, alright? This is your day. Something you've always wanted."

"Yes, but, sigh..."

When Kodlak was still alive he never found the right time to ask. Always feeling it wasn't his place to ask the Harbinger, and indeed he was only permitted to hold a weapon and don a cuirass by Merri'sa's suggestion. And even some days when Kodlak was still "in charge", Merri'sa would sometimes spot him taking hold of the same broom and rag.

Now that Merri'sa has taken the Harbinger title, she's using it to help her love further. The dream that always seemed out of reach to him, it's now well within grasp. And yet, something is still troubling him.

"What's wrong, love? Please tell me."

"This one is... worried. What about the others?"

...

"What do you mean?"

"The others... Aela, Farkas, Vilkas, what would they think of Bikhai? He's still just a... cat from Morrowind."

Merri'sa has heard this before. Her husband is very insecure about his origin, a fear of not being accepted in Nordic society. Indeed he didn't really have much choice since Skyrim was the first region he set foot on after his escape from Morrowind.

They have discussed it before, and she thought they've been over it by now. Now it seems it has come back to haunt Bikhai again.

"And I'm a cat from Cyrodiil, so, what's different really?"

"..."

"Listen, don't fret about the others, alright? I know you don't spend much time with them, but they all are good people. As long as you have this."

Merri'sa puts her pointer finger on Bikhai's steel plate, just above where his chest is. She knocks it lightly 2 times with her claws.

"Uh... what?"

"Your heart, Bikhai. That's why we're here. We all have a heart to do what's right. I know you have it too."

"Merri'sa..."

"Others will understand slowly. Just be yourself, and they will also see that you're worthy to be here, just like everyone else."

Hailing from Imperial family has taught her many lessons about interaction with people. Compassion, understanding and humility have enabled her to go a very long way in establishing a positive social connection. And she's applied it again with her husband.

She understands full well Bikhai is naturally a very anxious individual, even after their marriage he's constantly overthinking about the littlest of things. Fortunately Merri'sa has a seemingly endless supply of patience, especially when it comes to her loved ones.

Noticeably his fingers are no longer furiously fiddling, an evidence that he has calmed down to some degree.

"How are you feeling?"

"Hmm... this one doesn't know. But for you, Bikhai will try his best."

"That's what I want to hear."

Any lioness or cubs she deemed as "ugly" they were mercilessly executed. Rameses was just an angry being...But Bikhai...enjoyed killing she enjoyed watching the life drain from her victims eyes. She only had one high Queen and that was High Queen Ra'jaan. She wasn't high queen for long however...the two had a argument about Bikhai's treatment of her lionesses and Bikhai grabbed her Queen by the throat and slammed her into the ground before whispering in her ear "I will do with you all as I wish..." She then ripped her throat out and left her there to bleed out as a message to all the others what happened when they went against their High King. It was no surprise when Bikhai was killed by her own heir that no one mourned her infact they praised her killer for freeing them of her torment..Her killers name was Talos..

I don't know how I keep getting myself into these situations. I'm having a small sit down after meeting Golldir. We just found his aunt's body burnt to a crisp (not sure if she was previously like that or Bikhai set her on fire from his axe's enchantment after being resurrected by the draugr) in his family's tomb. He asked for some help after explaining his trauma with the place. After what happened to Skjor a few hours ago, how could I say no? Night Mother give me strength.
