Okay I have to say something
I’m watching the doctor who season with pearl mackie as Bill Potts for the first time (I am very late yes whatever). I haven’t heard a lot about this season; everyone seems to ignore it cause it’s between when Clara left and the new woman doctor came on (not complaining, she seems great, also haven’t seen her seasons, I’m GETTING THERE).
So like, I always see posts about Rose. Or Martha. Or Donna (and I love Donna). Or Clara. Or Yasmin (pls correct me if the name is wrong, I still haven’t seen any 13th Doctor content). But never many about Bill. And like. Guys. (Spoilers ahead)
She thought the Doctor had betrayed the human race and joined the zombie monks. Legitimately, she thought that, and the doctor wanted her to think that, and do you know what she did? After going to a HUGE amount of risk and trouble to rescue him only to supposedly find out he was a traitor??
She fucking shot him! To take away the advantage he would give the monks! She did that! To a man she considered her best friend! To save humanity! To partially redeem the choice she’d made in saving him!
I see so many companions utterly devoted to the Doctor. Even if they call him out, they follow him wherever. I was SO stunned when Bill fucking shot him to try and at least turn the tide in humanity’s favor. There was no guarantee it’d save them! But if the monks didn’t have the Doctor then humanity stood a chance. And she shot him just for that chance. And even though it was a test and whatever…She chose humanity over the Doctor in what must have been an absolutely emotionally distraught moment. And frankly, the fact that she hasn’t been absolutely obsessed over like so many other companions have been is a fucking crime.
I love Bill Potts. She’s a great companion and a fucking badass and has a great fascination and curiosity that is so fun to watch. Fucking get with it Doctor Who fandom.

I particularly don’t mind that the TARDIS rooms are mainly and generally unexplored, it’s a good way of leaving things up to the audience’s imagination, but we were so ROBBED of seeing the most tender moments of domestic life aboard the TARDIS like, companions eating cereal in their pyjamas, Doctor+companion making a mess in the kitchen trying to follow some weird alien recipe, sharing meals in general, watching movies with the Doctor in the media room, reading together in the library, discovering old trinkets and treasures the Doctor had forgotten about, did I say PYJAMAS OH GOD GIVE ME THE FORBIDDEN DOMESTICITY
