One of the best things about being an ot3 shipper, in my opinion, is reading fanfics/oneshots that are only about two of the three and then writing a oneshot with the third one it.

And then just absolutely doing nothing with it! No one will know absolutely how many fanfics I have done this with. How many times I’ve imagined my ot3. It’s just for my own sick entertainment. I am a zoo animal, the fanfics are the zookeepers and writing oneshots are the toys the zookeepers give me for my enrichment.

Three Teams Of [X] Has Two Hands

So we’ll start off the Team Posts with a group of teams I like to call ‘[X] has Two Hands’. Specifically, it’s the three teams where I paired them up specifically because they each had a specific character in both ships.

And funny enough, two out of three of them feature a Pines twin. Good for them, good for them.

Those teams are basically just ‘X character and their two significant others’ and I love the imagine them running back and forth to both sides of the bracket for each of their rounds on both sides. I also like to assume polyamory on their end, because cheating’s no good. So I feel like everyone’s in the know-how, everyone’s cool with it, and it’s all very sweet. 

Yes, I realize it will break some previously-established lore in the case of the first team, and yes, the phrase ‘[X] has two hands’ is pretty hit or miss for me personally (sometimes people like one ship and not the other, they’re allowed to do that). But it’s just for the sake of the tournament, nothing lore-breaking will be considered canon outside of it.

Is it a little unfair to have multiple ships with the same character, leaving less room for other ships with different characters to have made the cut? ...Maybe, but it’s my contest so I make the rules.

With all that being said, we have:

Team Dewey Has Two Hands:

Dewey Duck and Whitley Schnee Dewey Duck and Silver the Hedgehog

The first but certainly not last team to have a character from Ducktales 2017 (we love Ducktales 2017 here), both teams involve Dewey Duck and were automatic-ins, based on roleplays involving either myself or one of my buddies.

One of which involves him being still new to romance and also grey-aro, with a side of being caught in a ‘Protagonist Is Crushing On His Best Friend and Vice-Versa’ plot. Which would be so cool if it wasn’t happening to him specifically, but I’m sure things will work out.

If it’s not blatantly clear, this one’s one of mine and @crossovernonshipstournament‘s from our big Ducktales/RWBY crossover, which we’ve been working on for several years now. I’ll go more into that AU as I cover more teams but for now, we’ll just leave it there. Wait until Team Science gets here~!

I’m not entirely knowledged about the second one, but I’m sure with both Dewey and Silver having canon plots that involved time-travelling, there’s bound to be a lot of angst involved. Also knowing the submitter of the ship personally, I’m almost POSITIVE that there’s a lot of angst involved. ( @decanard Would you like to confirm~? 😉)

Team Dipper Has Two Hands:

Dipper Pines and Wirt Dipper Pines and Dib Membrane

Feels like the ships are pretty self-explanatory. Dipper deals with a lot of paranormal and supernatural things, so it’d make sense for him to be interested in other boys who are similar. Whether it’s dabbling in aliens and not being believed by anyone else outside of his sibling, or dealing with an ever-approaching threat that always seems to be watching from the darkness, it’s always nice to have someone there alongside you when dealing with the unknown.

Also I think if they all teamed up, they could so easily beat Zim, the Beast and Bill together. Or maybe they’d just avoid the last two, and go on to catch proof of Zim’s existence alongside Dib. Probably safer and less anxiety-inducing. And the last thing any of these boys need is to deal with more things that will spike their anxiety further.

Also just a special shout-out to @justadoll aka Doll, who asked me to include Wirt and Dipper. They have several ships they’re rooting for in the tournament (and I will absolutely give them a shoutout at that point too) but I know this is one of your super special ones and how much you love your boys 🥺

Team Mabel Has Two Hands:

Mabel Pines and Webby Vanderquack Mabel Pines and Gaz Membrane

Mabel Pines is full of love, whether it’s for boys or girls. But for this contest, it’s for girls~! Specifically one ducky girl and yet another Membrane kid. 

Honestly, I added Mabel and Gaz in because Dib and Dipper was one of the highest submitted ships, and I thought it’d be adorable to include the other side as well, but Gaz and Mabel really fall into the adorable ‘sunshine and gloom’ tropes pretty well (along with a few other pairings later on down the line, but we’ll get there when we get there). The person who submitted them said, and I quote, ‘it’s the dynamic of all time’ and I agree.

As for Mabel and Webby, it’s yet another ship that got in automatically, based on suggestions from my friends. Adorable autistic girls with grappling hooks, special interests, and just a love of their family? It’s just SO cute and fits both of them well.

Also another thanks to Lexi for suggesting the latter ship <3 We love the autistic girl rep over here!

That’ll be the three ships I cover for now; we’ll see which ships I cover next! Hopefully the other posts will not be this long, but who’s to say for sure because we all know I love to talk a lot.

My Christmas gift to myself was memebership to a bunch of music sites, one being 8tracks, so now I'm sitting here contemplating whether to make questionable playlists for questionable pairings. If I can get myself to draw some proper cover art, it's very likely to happen.

Okay, but like—imagine with me here:

It’s Mabel and Dipper’s 21st birthday, and as a celebration Stan and Ford take them to a interdiemensional bar that just ABOSOLUTELY HUGE and it’s a bar that exists inbetween universes, so in the bar that night of Dipper’s birthday—

There’s a ton fuck of Dippers there.

Turns out, they rented the entire place out.

There’s a bunch of them from different AUs—Monster Falls, Transcendence AU, Fight Falls, Reverse Falls, Zero Gravity, even a few of the Dipper’s from the fanfics the fandom makes. Some of them are monster hunters, leaders of the criminal underworld, interdiemensional backpackers, professors—and they’re all just drinking.

To the surprise, shock, confusion and horror of the Canon Pines, they’re all talking about Bill and complaining about their Pines families.

Like—

“But why is Bill so hot though?”

“I dunno man, ask Mr. I-Was-A-Triangle.”

“But why was he a triangle in your universe?”

“Beggars can’t be choosers y’know.”

“Maybe it’s the freedom and chaotic appeal. Beats our families.”

“Oh yeah, they’re pieces of shit. Like all the times Ford looked down on me—“

“And all the times Mabel just left us for fucking dead.”

“Yeah, what were we thinking? That asshole literally almost threw the entire Multiverse into chaos, just for another day of summer, that little—“

“Yeah, yeah, we get it, you insane maniacal bitch. You like Weirdmageddon. Stop with the torture stories dude. I’m trying to drink my problems away here, not gain more.”

“Let’s just be glad we all left those losers for Bill!”

“And Wirt!”

“And whoever the fuck Wirt is! Here’s to fucking our families over!”

“And pulling our heads out of our asses!”

“What in the actual fuck?”

All the Dippers just turn to see the Canons and they’re all like—

“Well if isn’t the straight, bitchy loser of the group!”

“Ugh, and he’s still hanging with them.”

“LETS ALL POINT AND LAUGH AT HIM!” (And yes, that was probably Alcor).

The Canon Pines get called out for their bullshit, Dipper gets explained the messy batshit the fandom calls Billdip (and Pinescone/Cipher Pinescone) and meanwhile, in another room of the bar—

There’s just the Bills and Wirts from the Dippers’ universes.

Most of the Wirts are having civil conversations and making small talk and comparing universes.

The Bills, on the other hand, are literally congratulating and patting themselves on the back for being so hot and amazing and getting Pine Tree (and Music Note/Pilgrim, in some cases). Like—

“Ah yes, we’re so amazing.”

“And hot.”

“And we have great personalities.”

“And Pine Tree is ours.”

“And Music Note.”

🌲THIS IS SO HARDDDD I’ll always love the entire episode “The Golf War” because I love that Dipper is so petty and supportive of Mabel’s feud with Pacifica but if I had to pick a specific scene I’d have to say in Weirdmageddon when Dipper is convincing Mabel to come back and you see all of the different times they’ve helped each other when they’re down. It appears at face value that their relationship is breaking down completely, but that scene solidifies it’s as strong as ever. It’s very cute.

🍂 - THE WHOLE SHOW! But Wirt searching for Greg and calling him his brother instead of defending he’s “only his half-brother” or just calling him “Greg” KILLS me he’s finally owning up to his mistake and realizing how much he cares for him. “You’re no good to your bother dead.” “I was never any good to him alive either.” OWWWW

✨ - What draws you towards your hyperfixation? What is interesting about it?

🌲 - Initially it was the humor that drew me in, but I’m working towards a certification in cryptozoology (which is a different story) and have always been a fan of “monster of the week” style shows (I’ve loved The X Files since I was a kid) and the design of the monsters is so much fun! I’m also weak for the characters - they’re interesting and dynamic and the way they work together is amazing. Found family + monsters and conspiracies + top notch humor = 100% perfect show. I also love that you’ll always see something new - decoding the hints in the show and in Journal 3 is a fun way to interact with a show that isn’t usually done. And I might be getting a job at a state park so double bonus haha

🍂 - The art style is initially what drew me in. I love backgrounds and always pay lots of attention to them, since lots of my art could be considered “background” art. But GOD the characters are phenomenal. There’s so much room for the imagination. the characters are so fleshed out despite being such a short series. The story itself is also gorgeous - a very nice surprising twist. But I’ll always be drawn to the interesting and very relatable dynamic between Wirt and Greg. Their problems are so NORMAL and it’s so easy to relate to them.

💔- Tell us about one of your LEAST favorite characters and why you dislike them.

🌲 - BILL! Bill. He’s such a fan favorite but I despise him. That’s a good thing - he has 0 redeemable qualities, no good reason for doing what he’s doing except just being a dick, and is all around terrible. He’s a great villain because I hate his guts and want him defeated! The character itself is amazing and very well-written. I hate him and loved seeing him getting punched in the face. But that’s why you’ll never see any Bi//dip on my blog - it’s a BIG no no for me and I don’t see how Bill could be anything but a terrible big bad villain. I am a little disappointed from time to time when I read fics and he’s the BBEG in them - I thought his ending was satisfying and didn’t need anything else added to it. Plus I hate him >:D

🍂 - A little harder, since every character matters so intrinsically, but I’d say The Beast. Similar to Bill but also different. The Beast is a dick that works for a selfish goal and is basically irredeemable (at least from what little we’ve seen of him), so it’s satisfying when Wirt figures him out and the Woodsman takes him down. Different from Bill, though, because he’s not a Tumblr sexyman that people constantly try to sexualize or attempt redemption arcs with. I do see him shipped with Wirt sometimes (which is NARSTY y’all need therapy), but other than that he’s treated as spooky scary villain that needs to be taken down, which is good. Both Bill and The Beast are good villains because you love to hate them. But I feel like they shouldn’t be redeemed because of that - plus shipping them with the child they abuse is…. super uber uncomfy.
