Do you think you'd make anymore SRPA art again? Even though you discontinued the comic and are finishing the story on AO3? (Sorry if you've answered this or something similar already I only recently started following)

Do you have any tips on comic making? Anything that you wished you knew before you started making them?

ummm let's see.. study people who you think make comics really well and see what you can learn from them.. don't worry about your art being "good enough" before you start. just start! you improve along the way..

and i think one thing i wished i knew before i started making them was that each page tends to be a bit time consuming! so it's important to pace yourself accordingly and take breaks as needed..

Also SRY second ask. I know people get tired of the question "how did u get so good at blank" and the answer is usually practice. But did u do anything specific to get so good at anatomy?? and comic book angles??? Cause dayum

oh thank you!! that's actually something i've been wanting to work on even more (esp in the new year).

Lemme think here... i think there are a few things to keep in mind when looking to improve your art.

First, if possible, try to find something you're obsessed with! so for me that's keith/lance & catboys right now. if you're obsessed with characters/pieces of media then you'll want to draw them a bunch and that's HUGELY beneficial to improvement.

Secondly, go into improving your art with the understanding that it will take a while to see significant improvement. Pace yourself, and if you find yourself getting frustrated that's ok, but don't direct that frustration towards yourself. Art is a skill you have to work at, so don't get mad at yourself for not learning fast enough. Gentle mindset!!!!

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what was the last point i wanted to bring up.... OH RIGHT. collect inspiration and resources!! everything you need to improve your art is available on the internet these days.. it can be helpful to organize resources if you want to! but you can also literally just google "intro to anatomy" or something and start learning.

Oh actually, Stan Prokopenko ("Proko") has some excellent free youtube tutorials that I highly recommend checking out. I'm using some of his stuff right now for gesture studies.

anyway yeah practice is very important so that's of course part of it, but what i mentioned above has really helped me over the years. good luck in ur art journey!!!

I just found srpa and read through it 😭 I got so sad when the art part ended (only cause it was so beautiful, i completely understand lack of time and it would have been so much to finish) but i loved the written part just as much <3 sad its over

glad u enjoyed it despite the changes! had to preserve the ol' wrist, u kno how it goes..

it's been a while since i finished it, but i'm still weirdly sad it's over too.. it was my baby for YEARS, so it feels a little empty not having a project to always turn to when i can't figure out what to draw

Hello! I'm a little confused so I decided to ask, wasn't SRPA an illustrated comic? I saw you posting it in fic form and I got confused lol. Have you changed how the story will go? if so where exactly does the illustrated part of the comic end and the written part begin?

howdy! SRPA started out as a comic, and after almost 150 pages, being the sole writer and illustrator was uhhhhh. CREATIVELY DESTROYING ME WITH HOW MUCH WORK IT WAS LOL.

but SRPA is still my baby so i decided to write out the rest so it gets finished! the fic pics up directly where the comic left off. hope this helps ⭐

i'm still brainstorming what to do now that i'm done SRPA, and especially since i want to take a break from Big Projects 🤔 so maybe tiny little AUs that are like, 3-4 page comics or something??

but then also i'm thinking about like, maybe focusing on anatomy studies (aka an excuse for me to draw keith and lance's bodies kjshdfdfjhd) AND ALSO NSFW KLANCE DJKHGDJFHGKDJ. it's something i've been wanting to do much much more of for a while >w>
