Why do I keep seeing recent interviews (both screenshots & videos) of Judith Butler on TikTok 😭😭😭😭 I CANNOT STAND her work 😭 And like, I’ve read it. It is academic word salad. And her recent interviews saying you can’t define what a woman is and that it’s not just biology isn’t a “Judith Butler W” like people keep saying in the comments, it’s her way of staying relevant in academic circles by obscuring material reality, as she is a postmodernist & her entire career has been about prioritizing gender identity over physical sex under the guise of “feminism,” despite how that not only doesn’t help, but actively harms, women by not acknowledging physical sex & advocating for gender abolition. Women is the word in English that means adult human females. Female, in English, means the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs. Feminism is about liberating women and girls (human females) from the patriarchy/men. Part of that liberation — arguably very large parts — include understanding our bodies and biology, as that’s very important for our health and wellbeing, while simultaneously understanding that that biology, while making us who we are (human females) does not make us lesser than men. It does not dictate our interests or make us less capable than men. Our biology cannot ascribe us societal roles. The only thing our biology does is say if we’re male or female. Acknowledging that we’re animals, a dimorphic species, & have physical differences in our morphology is not shameful and is not prescriptive. It is observation. If you think being a woman inherently has anything tied to it other than existing as a human female, you are sexist, and you are definitely not a feminist.

He's so babygirl <3 *mwah* *mwah**mwah**mwah**mwah*
The masculine/feminine need to bundle him up, toss him in a small closet, and lock us both in there, is impeccable. Chefs kiss.
I just want to put cat ears on him. PLeaSe. IM oBSesSeD.

Civilian LoV AU! Dabi coming back to the League's house after a nasty fight with his family. He slides open the door to the living room and sees the League at their worn down kotatsu, all huddled around a Clue board. Himiko and Jin get all excited when they see him, telling him that they saved him some leftovers from dinner as Kurogiri warps it onto the table at his spot. He kneels at the table as Shuuichi clears the board to start over so Dabi can play with them, and Dabi takes a sip of the drink laid out for him. He's very specific about his alcohol. It has to be poured and mixed just right or it doesn't taste good. When Tomura asks if he made the drink right, Dabi nods, tells him "of course you did," and takes the blue player piece Tomura offers him, smiling down at the table as Tomura and Himiko argue over Miss Scarlet, Shuuichi tries to set up the game again, and Magne, Jin, and Atsuhiro chat idly. At least this family wants him around.

Thursday Afternoon Study Session.
studying / working techniques specifically for biotechnology / biological sciences students working or studying in a lab:
✧ Use Visualization Techniques: Students can use visualization techniques to make their afternoon lab sessions more engaging.
For example, visualizing a complex biological pathway or imagining how a particular experiment might progress can help to increase engagement and motivation.
✧ Experiment with Different Approaches: One can try different approaches to their experiments to increase engagement.
✧ Create Interactive Lab Reports: Rather than creating traditional lab reports, try to create interactive reports. This can include incorporating images, videos, or even interactive graphs into the reports, making them more engaging to read and present.
✧ Take Regular Breaks: Taking regular breaks during the afternoon lab session can help to increase engagement and productivity. For example, taking a break every hour to stretch, walk around, or grab a snack can help to increase focus and engagement during the rest of the session.
✧ Collaborate with Lab Colleagues: Collaboration with lab colleagues can make the afternoon lab session more enjoyable and engaging. Discuss experiments, share ideas, and work together to solve complex problems.
Overall, these techniques can help make the afternoon lab sessions more engaging and productive. But most importantly have fun learning and gaining knowledge!!

30 Days of Productivity -May
Due to my very hectic and (academically) unproductive March and April, I’ve decided to restart another 30 days of productivity in hopes to catch up on all of my uni work.
Day 1-3
Tumblr media
[image: row of portraits of all emperors of the Julio-Claudia’s dynasty including their name and reigning years. Augustus on the far left, ending with Nero on the far right]
May 1st
worked for 5 hours
returned home and wrote 1600 words for my research essay
May 2nd
worked for 8 hours (for a night owl, a 7am start for a job with a 1 hour commute)
returned home and finished the 2000 word research essay, complete with references and bibliography (unfortunately yes, I did procrastinate for an hour in between)
finally slept!! (I was running on 3 hours of sleep per day for the past 3 days :(
Tumblr media
[image: freshly baked croissants from work]
May 3rd (rest day)
watched one of my biological anthropology lecture x1
attended my Biological anthropology lab
attended a peer mentoring session (where I try and tutor first year chemists and help with their lab reports)
meal prepped for the next three meals
finished House MD S4

Non-DFO au where Izuku is really into investigating and so a string of decisions made by his lack of self-preservation leads 14 year old Izuku to the den of the one and only AFO.
Izuku is honest about why he’s there when AFO asks but obv AFO isn’t buying it because how could a kid unravel his secrets on his own? He’s going to kill Izuku for his lies when it happens. See, besides being a good detective, Izuku in this AU has a weird habit of being super terrible at coming up with excuses. So he’s about to be unalived when he blurts out that he’s AFO’s son here for revenge for being abandoned by his dad.
The thing is, AFO buys it. Izuku is quirkless? Makes sense. AFO is from Gen 1. AFO abandoned the family? He’s big on family but the fight with All Might went hard. Can’t remember? That was a hella lot of head trauma.
And so ensues the chronicles of Izuku trying to bullshit his way as biological heir to AFO’s grand legacy while also trying to get into hero school and, most importantly, Not Die.

"Altered Consciousness" and Cave Art - The Entoptic Phenomena
I've made it through midterms and it's finally anthrop-o'clock!!
I want to start my blog with something I find really...REALLY...fascinating. I was presented this idea in an archaeology class and it's stuck with me since.
OK so let's begin with the fact that cave art is largely a mystery. There've been plenty of theories trying to explain it, but it is prettttty difficult to figure out what was happening in the minds of Palaeolithic peoples. If only there was some, chemically constant, comparative explanation we can study in the minds of people today....OH WAIT!!
The human nervous system, when hallucinating, creates uniform geometric shapes (uniform meaning that if we both hallucinated, our shared brain chemistry/biology would make us see the same types of shapes). This is the Entoptic Phenomena, and some of the shapes ("Entoptic forms") created by the human mind have been found within cave art.
This leads into the discussion of shamans, who are credited with creating this entoptic cave art. Shamans deal with rituals, which has led some anthropologists to believe that cave art was part of rituals in which people would induce a trance-like state and paint the forms they were seeing.
Here's some of the entoptic forms compared to cave art!
