Is it weird that my doll characters are “multiverse”? Like, Doll A has an elaborate story going on with Dolls B, C & D in one “universe”, but she’s got a chill everyday life with her besties Doll E and Doll F in a totally different “universe”, but Dolls E and F have zero connection and do not exist in the story of the first “universe”, despite that their best friend Doll A does. And say in a third “universe”, Dolls B and F are newfound lovers trying to shake off society that’s frowning down on their relationship, however, the characters of Dolls A, C, D & E do not exist or have a role in said third “universe”. Am I just a weirdo and the only one that does this? It’s honestly kind of fun.

Susi finally got a wig I’ve been meaning to order since 2020, and she looks perfect in it, just like I imagined!

I’ve tried to order this wig twice, but due to covid shipping restrictions I kept being refunded and told to order later. But now I got it and I am so thrilled with how she looks!

Here are some wip photos of a very special - and very expensive - doll I was waiting for a long time! Seth by Story of Seventh Day.

He is over 3kg in weight, was tricky to add the head, but I adore him. He is just my type of doll. Also I have seen like two blank owner photos of this doll so we won't see him often.

i would like to find a yarn color that is roughly close to this shade of orange:

as the doll is going to be using dark blue eyes and the contrast would look pretty good (ty to my friend for helping me narrow down colors here lol) but well. you would not believe how hard it is to find a more muted light orange. i have been to specialty yarn sites. if i did either of the two multi-colored yarns, it would be for highlights/still mostly orange just with other tones in there :) if u have specific opinions on this please comment bc good god i hate yarn shopping for this.

it's tuesday and work has been unpleasant so i made a pouch for the nomad to carry its trinkets.

as with all the bird-people, trading is most important for the nomad. there is a formula for the price (of course, even a mystic market have rules). here's an excerpt from the 37 page document detailing the laws of bird-commerce, for reference:

Ok, this is just to start with!

So, here’s My Size Barbie (Sarah), Jakks Pacific Disney Princess Playdate Moana (Luna) and Rapunzel (Stella), and a 3 ft anatomical skeleton I got off of Amazon. They’re standing against one of those foldable cardboard ....measuring boards? I don’t know, it can’t be a cutting board.

Here we have an April Story Juliet in white skin with an eye mod done by a previous owner. She's one from my personal collection and her faceup was surprisingly difficult to pin down.

I knew I wanted a fantasy faceup for her, but I had no idea what kind. I finally decided on this and I am happy with it!

Here's a quick before and after picture comparing her last two faceups:

The before was done by another artist, and it was very pretty, but I bond with my dolls through painting them, so I unfortunately had to wipe the previous faceup.

Atlas' hands have been driving me insane since I got him and came to the conclusion that my original plan to sculpt him new hands was just not really worth the effort, I foud SDF hands on DoA which I have seen in person ( admittedly years ago)and thought might be a decent match size and style wise, since I wanted him to have kind of big and relatively chunky ones

I am so happy that I was right 🥰 they also pose 100% better then the original ( shallow ball/ joint socket strikes again!)

Skin mach is of course non existent but I knew it would be unlikely to find a good match at this point u.u;;

When I was a kid I used to roll my eyes at my cousin for having really complex stories about how all her baby dolls were connected but now I do the same thing with all my BJDs. They’re all brothers and sisters and mommies and babies and boyfriends and girlfriends. I am cringe but I am free.

My standards for an acceptable match in a bjd hybrid keep getting lower, and I'm so glad of that. Especially when it comes to minifee, because fairyland's "normal" is a lot more saturated than the companies I usually prefer. And as I've discovered, I really, really don't like the fairyland bodies (they look nice, but I keep struggling to pose them).

All this too say, I have a new body for my Alan vamp head, and while the match is not great, I love that the 'old' doll leaves boy body has the same height as the mnf one, but none of the stupidly over engineered articulations

Colour difference is stronger irl, but with clothes it's fine-ish, he just looks like he hasn't seen the sun much.

This second pose of him sitting would have been hell with his Fairyland body. The elastic kept getting caught into the various parts that make up the hips, so moving his legs was always a hassle, but no more! The new body is maybe a little kicky, but nowhere near the worst I've dealt with, and I just love the way he sits.

I also finally tried out the trick of using boiling water to reshape hands. It's not a huge change on his hands, but it has let me finally fix other doll hands that had been annoying me.

Yesterday was a good doll play evening, and I'm feeling excited again about this character!
