Here to deliver on the Blackice Hades/Persephone AU. It’s not exactly greek mythos, though - here, Pitch is considered a ‘god’ alongside North and the other Guardians, a cosmic lord of creation and existence. His domain includes all that is typically related to the ‘unknown,’ such as darkness, fear, and death. Jack is a cosmic being himself - a prince of the constellations, and their most prized one at that. After Pitch steals Jack away for himself, the constellations and other gods must strike a bargain with him, splitting Jack’s time between the starry skies and Pitch’s dark domain. Jack, however, begins to find a fondness for Pitch, despite the other stars warning him against it.

these two guys won't shut up during the movie

they've been giggling and whispering the whole fucking time...!! thank yall for your kind tags in my previous drawing! it was a challenge that one and i AM satisfied, but tbh i felt that i could've done better with the overall contrast; it was too faded, u know? sooo, i went back to the drawing board and did another zukka drawing i could proudly end the year with it! aaand, i wanted to to end 2023 on a warmer note :3

plus: i tried something new!! i took the reference pic (this production still from the movie 'Go' (2001)) in color AND in black and white, and posterized it to get an easier reference for the way values are distributed and voila!!! easier than ever! aaaaaaand, i also straight up drew over the sketch i tested the colors on; i'm probably posting the timelapse next... in short, i really had fun with this one! ...here's to these couple of fools!!

It turns out Pitch from the phrase "pitch black" is an actual tangible thing. It's a distilled version of wood tar (or petroleum, or coal tar) which was traditionally used to caulk pieces of wood together like bricks. It was also used to waterproof certain items.

I didn't know this until I decided to right now. I didn't look anything up I just wanted to hard enough and I did.
