I've lost the post but I saw a post a while back asking why you don't generally see people in punk jackets at protests or riots (in the vibe of complaining about it, saying punks are faking some political ideology) and I was thinking.... yeah of course not, a good punk jacket is like a fingerprint. That shit's identifiable. If you know what you're doing, you go in black bloc and leave the jacket at home.
A fierce riot unfolds outside the greek parliament during a general strike protest (Athens, Greece)
A fierce riot unfolded outside the greek parliament in Athens during the general strike protest on Wednesday, 9 November 2022.
The protest -that was probably the biggest in the last 3 years with tens of thousands of protesters marching in central Athens, despite the lack of public transport, due to the strike - was against the soaring prices in goods and services, the absurd profiteering by energy providers and supermarkets with the greek government's backing, job insecurity, political corruption, entanglement and indignity, unfreedom and the normalization of suppression of basic rights and freedoms, the deterioration of the public health system, the regime of unfreedom and governmental control of the Press, the imposition of police stations inside universities and the list is endless and this is indicative of the dramatic situation that prevails in Greece.
[Video] A massive black bloc takes over the streets of central Athens, Greece
Athens, Greece.17th of November is the day when the student revolt against the dictatorship in Athens, Greece in 1973 is being commemorated. The 3 days festivities lead to a march at the streets of every city in Greece, but mainly in central Athens where a usually massive march is organized towards the American embassy, that is being blamed of co-operating and imposing the junta regime at the time.
Like every other year the police measures were suppressive to an extreme length while this year almost 6.000 cops or more were policing a march of at least 60.000 people focused around the black bloc of more than 2.500 anarchists and antiauthoritarians.
On November 17, 2014 the center of Athens reminded of a city under siege by the police, whether in uniform or undercover performing continuous searches on people trying to join the protest.
Athens was looking like being under a military dictatorship regime once again, a fact that didn't deter anarchists from joining the protest, while a black bloc of 2.500 or more was formed. Throughout the whole protest hundreds of riot police cops encircled the block tightly, which in turn fueled the passion of anarchists shouting solidarity and anti-police slogans.

"Get Rid of Yourself is a video-film-tract addressed to those who anonymously embody the return of political activism within Empire. While its initial sounds and images were filmed during the riots in Genoa, 2001, these materials are pulled apart and recomposed in order to locate the intensity of a shared experience, rather than producing one more documentary version of the programmed and hyper-mediatized confrontation of the G8 counter-summit."
Part of our mission statement and reason for existing is to empower the working class. It's why we're a worker cooperative. It's why we're union. It's why we're unapologetically radical.
We got our hands on some perfect hoodies for local black bloc shit and figured we'd make them available to y'all if you wanna bloc up and support workers at the same time.
