I'm absolutely obsessed with @blondeaxolotl 's Red Butler/Swap AU. And got to doodling as soon as I got their permission to do fanart!

I thought the choice of them swapping Doll and Joanne was very interesting, since both of them have similar designs and are very gnc, yet have very different personalities. I couldn't help but make some doodles. I hope I did this AU some justice. I had a lot of fun reimagining and redesigning/combining some cannon outfits.

It had been a long day for Grelle. She laid her head in her hands as she sat at her desk. The stress was getting to her. She wanted you to be here with her. She wanted to go home or cry, or both, or sleep. Anything. She looked out the window, hoping to pass the time in some way. She counted in her head, stopping at one hundred and starting again. There was nothing better to do with her time. She could, of course, be finishing her projects, but she didn't want to. She would save them for tomorrow.

As soon as it was time to go, she was out the door. Her heels clicked on the pavement as she ran into the empty and dark street. The stars were just beginning to twinkle. The light was barely enough to see, but it didn't matter. She knew exactly where she was and the pathway to get home. If she didn't know, she could always just jump to the roofs and find her way there. She raced through the ancient streets of England. She burst through the front door and closed it quietly behind her. She leaned against the door and took a moment to catch her breath. Surely you would be asleep by now, as late as it is.

She tried her hardest to be quiet, but unfortunately, her heels clicked across the wood with every step she took. She made her way carefully up the stairs, trying not to lose her footing in the dark house. She sighed as she opened up the bedroom door and stepped inside. She began to remove her clothes and dress for the night. She took a candle to the bathroom. It wasn't much, but it was better than nothing. She closed the door and lit the candle, and finished getting herself ready for bed. You had laid awake in bed, waiting for Grelle to return home. When you heard her, you didn't say a word, not yet. You waited until she was finished. When she came back into the room, she held her hand by the flame, an attempt to keep the light from blinding you. She sat down on the bed and blew out the candle.

She rolled over and laid her head on your chest, her spot.

"Are you alright?" You asked as you ran your fingers through her hair.

She snuggled deeper into you and breathed in slowly.

"I… I'm sorry for waking you, darling. I'm fine."

"You didn't wake me. I've been up and waiting for you. Are you sure?"

"It's just been a long day." She said as tears streamed down her cheeks.

"I'm here if you want to talk about it."

"Thank you." She placed her hand on your side and held you close. Normally, she would have told you about her day, but tonight was not one of those nights. Which was fine, she may tell you in the morning. She did enjoy talking about people quite frequently to you, keeping you up on the latest details and dramas.

"I love you, dear."

She blushed and smiled. "I love you too, darling."
