You know I like fanfiction but I'm tired of people crapping over Jaune's style all the time. Like the oneise. Maybe some people don't like showing off. I have always been a comfort over style person but can't people let Jaune be him.

I remember reading a fic where Jaune wore black shorts and a shirt to bed, mentioning that he was stopped by his dad from bringing his onesie to Beacon.

Honestly, I LOVE the onesie scene because 1) it's a hilarious insight into Jaune's character and it's done so well to contrast with all the "hot guys" that probably die later that are just standing around flexing with their shirts off, and B) really sells us on just out of his depth Jaune really is. Like, imagine a guy showing up to the Army in a onesie. He'd be the laughing stock of the entire command, earning his first ever nickname, "PJs" or "Onesie". Little does anyone know that this goofy man-child will grow up to wrestle demon horses and swing a sword so hard that it makes metal chains swing a couple yards away from the SHEER FORCE of it. Pretty subversive, huh?

But yeah, everybody wants to comb through the old episodes of RWBY so they can point out Jaune's "bad flaws" while disregarding everyone else's so they can say that he's a bad character, or he's a Gary Stu, or that he was never supposed to be a main character, or some other load of horse hockey that makes my stomach churn. Well, that, and these spicy noodles that I'm eating.

‘The Tarnished Knight, Part Two.’ — Ironwood’s Redemption Concept (Vol 9 spoilers)

My theoretical of if James Ironwood was the extra person to fall with team RWBY, instead of Jaune, into the ever after and how I think that would work. Biggggg post beyond the cut. My posts tag for this idea: [ #The Tarnished Knight RWBY au ]

We left off with The Blacksmith.

James accepts The Blacksmith’s offer to be given the start to be who he wanted to be. She re-carves him for his second chance.

He wakes up on the beach again, covered in multicolored maple leaves. James takes a deep breath as he slowly sits up, blinking widely. He felt as different as he felt the same, one notable change is that he didn’t feel the pain. He still had an ache but he felt,,, better. More alive. His pants- once dark blue- now a charcoal grey. A dark blue tunic almost like a gambeson replaced his greatcoat and uniform. Worn Silver Paldrons and rerbraces that stopped at his elbows, tassets at his hips and thighs, his arms now matching and in a gently used silver, no gloves in sight.

He’s ticking softly, only noticeable because he can feel it. He holds a hand up to his right breast and unbuttons his tunic to look down and see the face of a small clock flanked by filigree in the metal side of his chest, ticking along with the rhythm of his heart. Yes he still has that for human reasons because he is indeed still human.

His gun is no longer a gun, it’s an axe that matches the silver and black of his old gun(s) with the filigree along the handle as well. A small blue stone set in the bottom of the pommel. He’d see himself in the weapon’s reflection, years younger. A smooth face he didn’t remember he ever had, alone in what he believed to be purgatory. He gets a helmet too, dramatic reveals and all that.

From here, he would now take the place of the rusted knight in Lewis’s story. He would realize he’s not in purgatory, but a different universe entirely.

James would not have ended up with the paper people though, this I will stray further off the script for as I’m echoing the tin man from The Wizard of Oz a little more here. He’s a forest dweller who makes a home and protects the flora and fauna while frequenting markets. We’re keeping juniper here because I love her so much except in his case she is either Ace or something else. Maybe the rabbit in the beginning fell in with him instead of running off idk. She gets silver antlers as a treat if you wanna play on the lucky rabbit vibes add a horseshoe symbol to her chest.

We’ve now approached the point where he’d be back at his original vol 8 age, beard and maybe a pony tail for vibes. And now he’s gonna re-meet team RWBY and oh boy! It’ll be ugly but also hilarious. Get ready for ‘Just James.’

Yeah Weiss still gets her mature comment except it’s replaced with a shocked but appreciative, ‘Striking.’

James is trying to get RWBY to trust him, the cat plays on the fact that they don’t.

Things go a similar way as the original story but with a lootttt more tension and we get James backstory possibilities!

In the mirror domain we get him seeing some options: maybe himself but in his old atlas uniform, or possibly Qrow in the mirror, maybe Clover. Hell both maybe, I’m just a gremlin here.

I might draw this in the future, I’m pretty content with the idea!

Oscar's Arrival At Beacon 

This is a drabbbled based of of @neopoliitan RWBY AU Evermorrow where Beacon never fall along with several other changes which includes Oscar attending Beacon Academy. Enjoy!

As both new and old students walked past Oscar, he couldn’t help but gawk at the sight in front of him. It was one thing to see pictures of Beacon in pamphlets but to see it in person was a whole other experience. The academy looked like a castle plucked straight from the pages of a fairy tale with its sheer height making him feel small in comparison. Oscar still couldn’t believe that he had been accepted into Beacon Academy. Sure, he graduated from Signal Academy with pretty good grades, but the fact that he was taking the next step to become a huntsman still felt so surreal. Beacon was known for producing some of the most skilled and world-renowned Huntsman and Huntresses in all of Remnant. How was he supposed to live up to that? 

Though before he could get even more lost in his head, an all but too familiar voice yelled from across the Courtyard.

“Oscar!” 

Looking toward the source of the voice, his visions were briefly obscured by the sudden appearance of rose petals, and was nearly knocked off balance by the hug that accompanied it.

“I can’t believe you’re finally here and that we’ll be attending Beacon together! This is going to be amazing!” 

Oscar's cheeks filled with warmth and chuckled nervously over Ruby’s excitement as he returned the hug. Ruby had been ecstatic when he first told her the news months ago. Yet somehow, she seemed even more ecstatic than before. When Ruby had been accepted into Beacon in advance, he had been happy for her but was also a bit sad over losing his closest friend from Patch. While the two had kept in regular contact with each other through letters (which Ruby enjoyed the novelty of more than simply texting) with her telling him all about her adventures and friends that she’s made, he found it nice to be reunited with her properly. 

As the two broke apart from the hug, Ruby's smile turned to shock as she stared up at him. “How is this possible?” 

“How’s what possible?” 

“You’re taller than me!” 

Oscar's eyes widened in surprise as he compared his height to Ruby’s. Sure enough, it seemed like he was taller than her by about 3 or 4 inches. “Huh, I am.” 

Ruby crossed her arm and huffed. “How can I be older than you are yet somehow, you’re taller than me? What sense does that make?”  

Oscar snickered over Ruby pouting. It was kind of refreshing to see that despite how much time has passed, she still had a somewhat childish nature which he found to be charming. “I guess I’m just living up to my last name.” 

Ruby giggled over his dry remark, much to his pleasure before looking at him with eyes widened and body shaking with excitement. “So, can I see it?” 

Feigning innocence, Oscar scratched his chin in deep thought. “See what exactly?” 

“Your weapon!” Ruby exclaimed. “Come on, you’ve been keeping it a secret from me for ages.” 

Smiling over Ruby’s excitement to see it, Oscar grabbed his weapon that was attached to his back and presented it to Ruby. At first glance, it appeared as nothing more as the item was no bigger than a portable and handheld telescope with a sturdy metal black handle connected to folded-up pieces of machinery that were orange and black in color. Pressing a button on the side of the handle led to the sound of gears shifting as the pole expanded and the folded machinery unfolded before finally transforming into a shovel. “I call him, Roostock.”  

As Ruby began to examine Rootstock in her hands after Oscar placed it in her's, he began to explain its functionality of it.  

“With how I used a shovel to fend off Grimm on the farm all the time, I figured having a shovel be my actual weapon would make the most sense. It has two different modes. A close combat mode where I can use it to whack or slice at enemies and a long-range mode in which-”

Oscar's explanation was briefly interrupted however as Ruby’s examination of Rootstock lead her to activate the trigger that transformed the mechanical shovel into a crossbow. 

“And a long-range mode that’ll allow me to shoot dust-filled arrows.” 

Ruby let out an excited squeal over this revelation. “This is amazing! How did you get the idea for this second function?” 

Oscar scratched his cheek and looked away briefly. “I was just inspired by an amazing huntress who I admire.” 

“They must be a pretty amazing huntress to give you this idea.” 

Oscar began to open his mouth to explain that said huntress was Ruby herself only to be interrupted. 

“Wait, where’d everyone go?” 

Oscar was confused by what she meant until he looked around his surroundings and was shocked. What was once a schoolyard that was bustling with activity just a few moments ago was now desolate. They had been so wrapped up in their conversation that they hadn’t even taken notice of it, much to Ruby’s horror as she gasped in realization. 

“Oh no! We need to get you to Orientation ASAP!” 

Ruby quickly grabbed his hand, and before he could object to what Ruby was about to do given how it always made him a bit queasy, his world turned upside down and his vision became a blur of red and orange as Ruby used her semblance to speed towards the school.

Okay so I've got plenty of RWBY OCs and I make Worm/Parahumans OCs based on people's suggestions for fun.

I've recently started reading another Superhero Web Novel "Chum" by @reachartwork who has also created a Power Generator for people to make OCs.... I'd be remiss if I didn't have a go.

Okay so here's what I got

Okay so the Activation event was an accident at work, now I've worked in enough factories to have seen plenty of shit involving chemicals/molten and heated metal/spinning parts with edges and body parts get snapped or crushed....Without even involving chemicals or electrocution. So this guy's a factory worker whose power manifested what they needed to not get burned/crushed/shredded to death.

The power is a "Create" class that's physical and effects the self and takes the form of a parasitic appendage which excretes anomalous material when actively used, so I'm gonna say that it's fair to assume that there's also a secondary "Gigant" rating tied up in that whenever the power is active.

So let's make the power active all the time and give ourselves someone who's an absolute tragedy.

Name: Seth Drake.

Age: Early 20s.

History and activation: Seth grew up in a poor but stable, single parent working class home and was lucky enough to find a good union job at a local factory straight out of school through the father of a friend. Things went well for a few years, Seth got an apartment with only one roommate, got a car that wasn't so busted and had a clear path forward until the corners that the company was cutting on maintainance and safety regulations they were ignoring had consequences in the way they always do.

The factory burned down and Seth, being young and stupid didn't evacuate immediately; he grabbed a fire extinguisher and went looking for people who were still inside until he was caught in the collapse and the fire. When he dug his own way out of the wreckage it was clear that he'd activated and had powers.... Though they hadn't been enough to save his right hand or keep his face and chest from being burned and scarred.

Appearance: Before the fire Seth had always been described as a good looking young man, tall, the kind of muscle you get from physical work rather than the gym, biracial and light-skinned who wears his hair braided in a variety of ways; would have had an afro but supervisors and managers complained about it getting in the way of PPE.

After the accident Seth's powers are always active and mark him out as a metahuman immediately to the point where living a normal life is impossible. His powers take the form of a pinkish translucent and bioluminescent, amorphous and vaguely cephalopod-esque creature which has fused itself to his body and formed a symbiotic relationship. When it's dormant the creature exists as a slimy layer of gelatinous tissue less than inch thick which covers the entirety of their right hand and gives them a faux-hand with some degree of dexterity though he's still learning to do most things left handed as the digits of the new hand are disproportionately long and lack sensation, giving it a nerve-damaged quality It also spreads itself over the burned and scarred parts of his chest and face where it's attached by a series of sharp teeth; this is made painless by the same compounds which the creature secretes in order to ease the chronic pain Seth's injuries would cause.

When the creature is active it grows considerably, producing six bulky but completely prehensile tentacles attached to the forearm and shoulder at various points which are tipped with blades whose shape can be changed and are made from the same chitinous material as the teeth which anchor it, the creature also develops several eyes, the largest of which covers Seth's own right eye whilst others form in a semi circle around his head to give a better range of vision and allow him to better aim and control his tentacles; these eyes are all completely black. Whe. Active the bioluminescence of the creature is more pronounced and it leaves a faintly glowing ooze where it hits.

Being poor, especially after losing his job and struggling to find work again after activation Seth's costume is fairly low budget; black cargo pants and steel-toe boots he used to use for work, with a techwear harness through the belt loops dangling down to the knees....He tells himself it's for more storage space but it's purely aesthetic. Muscle fit tank-top with some surplus body armour over it (Body armour is definitely cheaper when there's so many powers that make it redundant) he's got the most over the top anime bullsbit scarf wrapped around the bottom of his face at all times (Think Aizawa) and his hair is an a style that's inspired by Nikolas Draper-Ivey's work on Static Shock.

Modus Operandi: After being let down by OSHA, let down by the Union, let down by underfunding in any and all social programs that might have helped him; something which felt almost like a deliberate attempt to try and pressgang new Metahumans into working for the same government that wasn't helping him Seth was never gonna try and be an official hero, he had enough common sense to not trust police that much anyway. Instead he took the vigilante route, though thus far he's made a name for himself and annoyed a lot of people with lawyers along with the police by focusing his efforts and "Looking into" businesses in the area that have questionable practices and using means that can generously be called "Direct action".

But when he is patrolling the streets and serving out justice directly he goes by the name "Vampire Squid"

RWBY: Ice Queendom

I have a well earned reputation as a fandowner, but the real reason I didn't watch it's initial run, (aside from a long running argument with sony/crunchyroll/funimation/rightstuf), was RWBYxJL.

Despite my pessimism, I am willing to give series another chance, if I see progress. If we take Star Wars, they utterly ruined it. But, then we got The Mandalorian. I didn't watch it, but to anyone that asked, I said i would, if we got a second good Star Wars thing. They then fired Gina Carano because she wouldn't submit put her pronouns in her bio, and then wouldn't get onto a livestream with 50 pissed off Communists to be shamed about it.

For RWBY, Justice League was that chance. It gave us Jess, (let's be honest, we fucking stole her), and... added nothing to either RWBY or JL.

But, Ice Queendom looked like it was a work of love. It looked like it was made by people who genuinely loved the series, or at least had a good idea of the characters and story.

For off, the quick list:

Animation is sub-par.

I have to watched it subbed.

Now, I've been a weeb for nearly 30 years, so neither of those matter. How the characters move is wonderfully planned out, the movements themselves are simply stiff. The subtitles is really fucking weird, considering they are doing this with the approval of the rights holder, and so could easily get the voice actors, and crew, to dub it. But, neither of those are especially important.

No, the true sin of RWBY: Icequeendom is FRAMING. It's framed like it's a manga, as the start and end of the movements are beautifully decided, it's simply getting there. The camera is way too close to the action, because with this much action, the characters move way too much that the narrow framing doesn't let the eyes adjust to the movement. They honestly would have been better off if they had Weiss prepare to lunge, lunge, and then you just see her blade piercing the Arma-Gigas, (mild not spoilers).

The biggest problem RWBY had is that nothing was planned. They threw a bunch of cool shit into a pile, and it was great. Until they had to actually connect the dots, and come up with an extended story.

Well, Icequeendom has the benefit of hindsight. They include a number of story and world elements, and introduce them in a much more organic way. Even to the point of having the mysterious narrator... narrate. They even add a counterpoint, so firen lhain is not said out of malice nor enmity.

The characters are all much more rounded then they were in RWBY, (we can forgive CRWBY, as there is only so much you can do with 5 minute episodes). They do the Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood thing, where they expect you to know certain details, and so don't need to explain them. The characters and their motivations are introduced in a much better way, so that novices to the series can get just out as much out of it as veterans. Characters are introduced much earlier, and in a much more organic way. Jacques Schnee and Adam are made more monstrous, and more Human at the same time. Taiyang is made more fatherly, and less male feminist coward. Yang's motivations to Ruby are are lot clearly, (she wants to enable her, no, not that kind, you perverts). Whitley has more vitriol but less hatred. Bumblebee makes and early appearance, along with actual detail into the White and Black trailers. Last but not least, Zwei is present from episode one.

When RWBY was animated in Poser, they focused on high-octane, over-the-top fights. When they switched to Maya, they focused on making them more realistic, but forgot they are supposed to be using over the top anime fights. Ice Queendom takes a middle ground. The animation for the fights is not as smooth as either, but has far, far more weight. They decided how strong the characters are, how strong their Aura is, how strong their Semblance is, and stuck to it. Most of the firearms use actual bullets, and the effects of dust are actually quite well thought out. Grimm have realistic toughness, at least for creatures made out of enmity and darkness. Maybe I should say they have an established and consistent toughness. This makes the fights feel both a lot more dangerous for the Humans, and a lot more possible. In theory, a mundane Human could kill a Grimm, if they could get their sword into it enough times. Instead of Grimm being invincible, and only defeatable with Aura, they instead act like realistic creatures.

Obligation.

Jaune makes his way through the kitchen to see a big metal door with a simple but effective locking mechanism.

The door had read 'Authorized Personnel Only'.

Jaune: We'll this must be the backroom Gepetto was talking about.

Jaune knocks on the door, only to receive no answer.

Jaune waits a few seconds before knocking again.

Nothing.

Jaune sighs a bit in frustration, this time deciding to open the door the large metal door.

The door was heavy, massively heavy.

Jaune: What the hell are we keeping in here to warrant this?

Jaune pulled at the door as it slowly opened up until finally he was able to get inside, making sure the heavy door didn't fully close behind him.

All Jaune was greeted with was a dimly lit room, and in the center of it was a chair, table and a small tablet.

Jaune: Gepetto, you in here?

Jaune slowly walked up to the table as a light on the tablet blinked.

Jaune lifted the tablet.

'Pree play and sit' said a pop-up text.

Jaune,not seeing any alternative,sat down and pressed play.

Gepetto: Begin playback... leaving deadspace in 3...2...1.

Jaune: Gepetto?

Gepetto: Mr. Knight, the purpose of this tape is to inform you of your obligations come closing time starting tomorrow night.

Jaune: okay...?

Gepetto: Every night, once tasks are finished and the pizza place is secure, you will look in the back alley for anything that meets the criteria of paragraph four.

Jaune: What was paragraph four again?

Gepetto: If you don't remember the criteria, then I will remind you: Should you come across a Maiden-Matronic that meets our standards, those standard being...

1. Does it look fun?

2. Does it look safe?

3. Does it look cheap to fix?

Jaune: I'm not sure the maiden-matronics I'm after are categorized as such...

Gepetto: If these vintage attractions meet those criteria, then you will carry them into the backroom and perform the maintenance checklist, which I have provided a copy for you below.

Jaune looked at the sample checklist.

Gepetto: The purpose of the checklist is to test automated response times and reactions from these vintage maiden-matronics following audio stimuli.

Jaune looked over his checklist, noting 5 different times the test had to be done, with only three choices to select.

Yes. No. Unsure.

Gepetto: I will fill you in more come tomorrow night, but once you are done and the checklist is complete, you are to clear the space and seal up the room. Do not return until the end of the shift the next day. End recording.

Jaune: Okay, but that leaves me so many questions...who'se dropping off things in the back alley!

Silence.

Jaune just sighed. Maybe reading contracts would have been helpful...he wished Ren were here. He would have found any small nitpicks.

Ren.

Ren, Nora, and Pyrrha are all going to be here tomorrow.

Jaune: Don't worry guys, like I promised it's all coming together, I freed team RWBY, and I'll free you guys too.

Jaune got up from his seat and left the small chamber, sealing the deadbolt shut on the door.

Jaune checked the pizza place over one more time before closing up.

Tomorrow was the grand opening.

A truck carrying three maiden matronics drove into the inky black darkness as it made it journey to its destination.

Ren: Yes, Nora.

Nora: Do you think Jaune will save us?

Ren: I believe so, Nora.

Nora: ...Ren are we bad people?

Ren: No, Nora we aren't? Why do you ask?

Nora: Is this hell?

Ren could say nothing, not sure if he could believe whatever answer he told her.

Meanwhile, silenty the red-headed amazon spartan maiden-matronic could only weep silently at her teammates' question.

I have a request: cardin have a discussion with Optimus prime about hate and how it can be deadly.

(Story of a general passing down his teaching to another)

"I messed up, didn't I?"

"You made a mistake, yes."

At this, the huntsman sighed. Huntsman. Ha. He wasn't a huntsman. Not like the ones who actually did great things around him. Like Team RWBY and SSSN and... CFVY. While everyone else was actually struggling and pushing themselves to be better, Cardin was... not. He'd spent most of his first year being a bully at Beacon, and it was all coming back to bite him in the ass.

That's when he found that black book and summoned his mentor. His first time meeting the massive metal titan was earth-shaking, to say the least. He was so surprised, he threw the book out the window. Still, Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots was more than prepared for the challenge, even if he didn't know what an Autobot was.

"Did you ever have a screw-up as bad as me?" Cardin asked.

"When a mistake is made, it matters little who made the mistake when compared to the result of it." The machine said. "I have made many mistakes in the past, and I am still haunted to these decisions to this day. But rather than ruminate on these decisions long past, I instead look to the now, and see what I can do to make things right."

"I... I don't know if that really help-"

"Cardin, could I get some help?" The questioned lad looked out to find Velvet, a former victim of his bullying (and the worst of them), waving to him. "I need some help getting these sandbags moved!"

"Uh, sure thing!" Cardin ran up to her, following the rabbit faunus to the sandbags in question.

"Of course, it doesn't hurt to have a helping hand guide us in our mistakes." The Prime said.

RWBY: FATE

Ruby could barely stand still as she leaped up and down with joy as her, Weiss, Blake, Yang, Jaune, Nora, pyrrha, and Ren were lined up next to each aswell as everyone else that had seemingly passed the test. Ozpin walked infront of them before stopping with hazel right behind him as everyone stood on a stage with the crowd of hundreds of others standing beneath them.

"Greetings students, due to my lack of foresight I had sent you all out without you receiving a flare gun so this test will be redone tomorrow. That is for those who have not passed. As for the ones who did I'm going to announce them." Ozpin spoke plainly into the mic infront of him, as hazel just grumbled something.

"To begin I'd like to announce the first team that had completed the test, the new team CRDL. Lead by Cardin Winchester. If the team may step up and say a few words. Please." Ozpin continued as a group of men walked up as one brunette wearing chainmail and metal-plate armor lead the group as what looked like the insignia of a cardinal flapping its wings was plastered on his chest plate. The group stopped in front of the mic as Ozpin stepped aside for them. The one in the armor grabbed the mic and began speaking.

"Howdy folks, pleasure to meet y'all. I'm cardin obviously, and Just know that me and my team are going to do our best so.. don't fall behind us." Cardin spoke as he and his team left with jaune raising an eyebrow as the message seemed too friendly for some reason.

Ozpin walked back to his mic. As he began listing off the different teams, team RZER, team BRKR, team BRZE untill he said something that caught Ruby's attention.

"Team RWBY, lead by ruby rose." Ozpin spoke as Ruby, Weiss, blake, and yang all felt their scrolls vibrate as they pulled them out and saw the word "RWBY" was typed in as Ruby's eyes sparkled as Ruby shot towards the mic before yelling to the top of her lungs with joy. "HELLO EVERYONE!", to which everyone including her teammates covered their ears as Weiss grumbled, so THIS was her leader. Well Atleast she wasn't annoying and so far seemed... Nice.

And so the rest of the teams were announced as turns out jaune was also a leader and he leads team JNPR consisting of him, Nora, Pyrrha- to weiss' annoyance- and Ren.

We see Ruby marching along with Weiss, Blake, and yang following behind her as ruby had a huge dopey grin on her face. "Ooh this is SOOO great! I get to lead my own team!" Ruby spoke with glee as yang chuckled softly as she pat her sister on the back. "Don't get over your head rubes, being the leader of your team is probably gonna be a tough job." Yang added before hugging ruby as Ruby hugged back as Blake narrowed her eyes. This was going to be a LOOONG year.

Soon they arrived at their door and opened it as Ruby and yangs face immediately contorted to disgust as Weiss and Blake looked inside and saw four neatly cleaned beds set up in a horizontal line. Weiss raised an eyebrow "I don't see the problem here" Weiss spoke as she looked at yang and ruby.

"The beds... T-their... Their not-" "BUNK BEDS!" Yang interrupted her sister as they immediately shot forward as Blake and Weiss were left confused.

"Why is the fact that their not bunk beds such a big deal?" Blake questioned as yang and ruby looked at them as their faces were covered in Shadows. and to make things quick their made their beds into bunk beds... somehow.

Then our vision changes to Roman sitting in his cell as he sees a female guard walking by before stopping right in front of his cell.

"... Well what is it? Am I needed for something?" There was only silence before something dawned on Roman as he grinned. "That's my girl, you got the key?" Roman asked as the guard nodded before she took out a key before putting it in the lock as we hear a click as we fade to black.

"Thanks neo, I can always rely on ya"

Instead of asking for a new prompt, I'd like to request for a continuation of one of my previous requests this time.

Specifically, the Soul of a Weapon AU.

(Havent thought of this one in a while. But... lets make things interesting)

“I’m sorry, but this is the best I could do,” Luna said as she handed over the chained sickles to Veil. Her eyes lingered on the black metal and the way the white handles almost seemed to shine in the light with the gold accents, enjoying the way the weapon looked even though she knew exactly who it had been just the night before. And yet, it felt wrong to hold in her hands. “I-I think Veil should take it.” 

Martyn rolled his eyes as he watched Veil move the weapon around. “You were supposed to keep to the plan.” 

“I panicked!” Luna said in a harsh whisper. “It wasnt my plan to use it on Blake.” 

“We’ll have to discuss this after class. I dont want to draw any more attention that we have.” 

Luna gave a small nod as she watched Ruby, Weiss, and Yang file into class and sit down, almost overshadowed by the fact that Blake was missing. Her heart ached at the thought of what she’d done the night before, almost dreading the fact that she was going to have to do the same to Ruby. “Yes, Martyn.” 

Martyn smirked a bit. “Though, that doesnt mean we cant have a little fun. Ember?” 

Ember looked up from her books. “Yeah?” 

“If Yang is called to fight, I want you to volunteer to be her opponent.” 

“What for?” 

“I want to see how she handles fighting without a weapon. And maybe to give you an idea on what she’ll become.” 

Luna felt her stomach turn at the idea of turning the rest of team RWBY. If it hadnt been for Nocturne, none of them would be in this position to begin with. Awakened and hungry for what humanity had to offer, unfulfilled as her true calling seemed so far away, almost like a faded dream. 

“Everything okay, Luna?” Veil asked. “You look lost.” 

“I might be a little lost on the classwork,” Luna lied as she looked away from Ruby and her team. A sigh escaped her lips as she grabbed the necklace that hung from Veil’s pocket and tucked it away into her own as quietly as she could. “I think I need to step out for a moment though.” 

“But class is about to start.” 

Luna didnt answer back and stepped out of class and into the hallway. Once she was sure she was alone, she slipped the necklace she swiped from Veil out of her pocket and sighed as she looked it over. It was nothing more than a plain necklace, small fake jewels inserted into the metal. 

“Are you okay, Luna?” 

Luna nearly jumped as she turned around to face Ruby, hand behind her back to keep the necklace out of sight. “W-what uh… what are you doing out here? Shouldnt you be in class?” 

“I was worried about you,” Ruby answered. “You might now be my weapon right now, but seeing you rush out of class like that makes me worried.” 

Luna paused as she clutched the necklace behind her back, her eyes fell to Ruby’s chest as she thought about how easy it’d be to turn her into a weapon. All she’d have to do is press the necklace up against her. Though, as much as she had wanted to, she couldnt seem to move her arm to do it. 

“Are you okay?” 

Luna froze as she felt Ruby’s hand on her shoulder, her breath hitched as she stared into Ruby’s silver eyes. She wasn't at all like Nocturne had described her, much more kind than destructive. And yet, the words Nocturne had told her stuck in her mind almost like a curse. 

“*Team RWBY needs to be removed if you’re to live your life.*” 

Luna took a breath and moved the necklace into view, her words left her lips softly. “I’m… sorry.” 

“Sorry about-” 

Luna closed her eyes as she heard Ruby’s words cut out followed by a clatter on the ground. When she opened her eyes again, she saw a scythe where Ruby once stood, almost accurate to how she had been as Crescent Rose. Her heart raced as she picked up her new weapon, fingers shook as she ran them across the hilt before she folded it up. 

With another breath, she started to make her way to Ruby’s dorm. “I-I can fix this, but I need to be you for a bit. I hope you can understand once you’re back to normal.”
