I just realized how fathers are viewed in marvel screams daddy issues in adulthood.
Like both Thor and T’challa idolized their fathers, they were both with their fathers when they died and almost first instinct was to fight the person they thought responsible.
Yet as the movie goes on they learn that their fathers weren’t as good as them seemed, Odin banished his daughter and never spoke of her, and T’chaka never told his son the truth about his uncle.
And towards the end, it’s found out that Odin did the same as hela, he killed hundreds of people to have power. He was just as murderous and chaotic as her until he just up and decided “nah I have loads of power now I’ll just make everyone hate her so I’m the good guy”.
Then T’challa finds out that his father actually killed his uncle, and left the child there alone, when he just as easily could’ve brought the child back and raised him. His fathers one wrong movie could’ve easily destroyed all of wakanda. He even goes to the point of screaming at his father when he ‘dies’.
- This is just the parallel of Thor and T’challa I’ll write tony in a minute.
