Guy Bluford Changed the Course of Space History
On Aug. 30, 1983, Guion Bluford, better known as Guy, became the first African American to fly to space. An accomplished jet pilot and aerospace engineer, Bluford became part of NASA’s 1978 astronaut class that included the first African American, the first Asian American, and the first women astronauts.
He and the other crew members of mission STS-8 were aboard the orbiter Challenger as it lifted off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida; it was the first nighttime launch and landing of the Space Shuttle program. While aboard, he and the other crew members deployed the Indian National Satellite (INSAT-1B), operated a Canadian-built robot arm, conducted experiments with live cell samples, and participated in studies measuring the effects of spaceflight on humans.

Guy Bluford chased his childhood dream of becoming an aerospace engineer, and in doing so, changed history and encouraged other Black astronauts to follow in his footsteps.
Make sure to follow us on Tumblr for your regular dose of space—and for milestones like this!

I want to make another YouTube video, but the shitty quality on my camera bothers me so much!
If I make one it would be on why Megan Thee Stallion is a real one in the nerd community. The title wouldn’t be that exactly, but is that something y’all would like to see?

I watch this black woman youtuber name chrissie let me tell you she's had a very good point even though i'm non black im asian btw only at first watch one of her video i subcribe to her video. I learn so much from her. She talk about how black woman are always being expected to be the hero, the strong one, the angry one etc etc. She said black woman should burn the cape, how black woman are also should priotize themselve but she's transphobic
i used to watch chrissie but she lacks intersectionality, trans women and their contributions are VITAL to the protect black women message so idk why she hates trans women so much

hi heres art so you pay attention to me now go read the tags
#ive been rewatching episode 7 like its the only thing on youtube and made note of many things#first off. the solver can only have one host. nori mentions skyn wants to kill off all the other solver hosts (with the dds) and disregards#the idea of both uzi and doll being its current host when they get chased#plus the main solver possessions only occur when skyn is out of the picture (the fightt in ep 7 is only after n decapitates “tessa”)#solver uzi is possible too but i dont count her cause she doesn't have the yellow#personal theory is that its more an instinctual response to overheating or something and not full on possession#second off nori calls the solver cyn. how does she know that name#cyn was on earth and only showed up to copper 9 recently and i presume nori's been here her whole life#it probably wasn't the other dds cause none of them made it down and they're all more savage beasts#since cyn specifies n's team retained their personalities and that makes me think the other teams didnt#also also we should've immediately questioned tessa arriving in the same type of pod as the mds when they were revealed to not be sent by j#im running out of characters also the people who dont like when i use tags like this can bite me#murder drones#murder drones nori#artori? that sounds cool#ill probably just stick with nori though#i have so many solver heart refs now#art#episode 7#murder drones episode 7#murder drones episode 7 spoilers#using the same black for shadows as my lineart doesn't work when i have to draw thin things over it#murder drones spoilers

You know when it comes to trans or hrt stuff, I've never seen anyone mention Percy Lavon Julian, who was a super smart chemist. I saw a drunk history about him a long time ago and I've always thought this guy was so cool
Percy Lavon Julian (April 11, 1899 – April 19, 1975) was an American research chemist and a pioneer in the chemical synthesis of medicinal drugs from plants.[1] He was the first to synthesize the natural product physostigmine and was a pioneer in the industrial large-scale chemical synthesis of the human hormones progesterone and testosterone from plant sterols such as stigmasterol and sitosterol. His work laid the foundation for the steroid drug industry's production of cortisone, other corticosteroids, and birth control pills.[2][3][4] From Wikipedia

This guy found out you can synthesize testosterone and progesterone out of soy beans and we never talk about him. He fought really hard to become a chemist, even having to leave the country to finish his schooling and get a PHD he's also played by Jordan Peele in the video

Since Disney hasn’t said anything outside of the trailer we got like…almost a month ago: Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire is out today on Disney+. It is a 10 part anthology series that honestly deals with a variety of things. African lore, aliens, spirits, etc. Each story is unique and has its own unique style. The stories are also by and animated by a variety of African artists so that makes it even better.

Update: Don’t know how this happened but I forgot to put the trailer so here it is along with a teaser
