I used to write all the time, and now I hardly do anymore, so I'm going to take a note from my teenage self and carry around a little notebook all the time again.
Except this time, it's one I made.
At just over 4"×2.75", it is very easily pocketable. In fact, I am considering making the next one a bit bigger. Taller, mostly. If I do it as a sexto rather than an ocatvo, it'll be about five and a half inches tall.
Still smaller than my cell phone.
The lines are a bit darker on that first page, because I designed this book via powerpoint, and I missed a sheet when adjusting the colors after my test print to see how dark I wanted the lines to be. So a quarter of the pages are darker than the others. Here's a side by side comparison:
I got to use up a bit of partly-ruined bookcloth on it, too. A while back I made some bookcloth, but a decent amount of glue struck through to the front and made a large shiny patch. I couldn't use it for a full-sized book, but I hung onto it anyway, and the non-shiny part was big enough to cover this book! :D
I used to say I could stop buying blank books any time I wanted… but I have recognized that I have a pretty serious problem… that’s the first step, right?
When I start using a notebook I have to get another one like it in case I run out… notebooks for the same project must match!
I used to dabble in moleskins, Clairfontaine… but lately I’ve been hitting the harder stuff u know bespoke, hand stitched headbands.
I was even tempted by this rarity. A real fine binding and mostly blank. Thank god the first few pages have writing on them! I wouldn’t feel right removing or keeping them. Talk about intimidating to write in!
i never understood ppl claiming percy has never suffered the consequences of his loyalty. you're talking about percy "i know the prophecy said my friend would betray me but these are my friends they wouldn't betray me" jackson, who walked into a remote part of the forest with luke and almost died in book one. you're talking about percy "kronos told me point-blank there was a traitor but i can't imagine any of these ppl betraying me" jackson, who decided to stop looking for the traitor and moved on. you're talking about percy "nico is acting suspicious and very clearly hiding something from me but he's my friend and i trust him" jackson, who walked into nico's very obvious set up and almost got himself held hostage during the titan war. percy is so loyal that he cannot fathom betrayal until it's happening, and it has nearly killed him multiple times.
I think it's very telling that as of right now (System Collapse), every single Rogue Secunit we've met has not only not attacked anyone, but has immediately gone "yes, I'm going to help, actually." No matter how much even Murderbot itself frets about the dangers of Rogue units to its humans, the only place that danger seems to come from is corporate propaganda.
